I have been posting images of this plant that was sold to me as Myrciaria floribunda, the famous Guavaberry..Why am I not surprised that it isnt?.. The lack of accurate info of what people are cultivating and selling here is irritating to say the least, irresponsible really ( many berries are toxic). In any case we shall, for the moment, only know that it is one of the over 100 species in the Myrtaceae family that are present or imported to Hispaniola.. #ID #myrtaceae #floraofhispaniola #plants #botany

Turns out.. its called Catopsis nutans and this is actually the open flower which I had never noticed because it only opens at night.
