How to ask Wonho to be your Valentine

Step 1: Gather some courage. There’s gotta be some lying around here, maybe under your bed or between the couch cushions?

Step 2: Think about when and where to ask him. At home? Too simple. At a park? Too cold outside. At a restaurant? You’ll probably forget to ask when you’re too busy enjoying food.

Step 3: Realize that a coffee shop would be perfect! You both love those and they have great ambiance! 

Step 4: Remember that you’re visiting a new one tomorrow, one that your friends recommended because they have great coffee and they’re pretty quiet.

Step 5: Panic because you have literally no other details planned out. Why are you even getting nervous?? He’s your boyfriend! Of course he’ll say yes!

Step 6: Decide to make him a card and head to the craft store to pick up supplies. Get a text from him while you’re at the craft store asking where you are and promptly flip.

Step 7: Tell him you’re out shopping and ask what he’s up to.

Step 8: He texts that he’s at your apartment because he’s bored. You fire off a quick text to his best friend begging him to distract Wonho for the rest of the day. You might owe him a lifetime’s supply of bubble tea, but it’s worth it.

Step 9: Breathe a sigh of relief and gather as many materials as possible: markers, pens, ribbon, construction paper, heart stickers, glue, a nice set of pens for him since his are running out of ink.

Step 10: Get home to a (thankfully) empty apartment and set up camp on your dining room table. Google a lot of DIY valentine’s day cards until you find the perfect one of a coffee mug that says “I love you a latte”.

Step 11: Try not to cover yourself with glue while you put together the card. Make a typo that you can’t cover up and resist the urge to cry.

Step 12: Find a suitable tote bag to heft the card in and pick out a cute outfit he could never say no to.

Step 13: Sleep like a baby despite your nerves.

Step 14: Feel your stress melt away when you see him waiting at the coffee shop, looking like he just stepped out of a manhwa, a bright smile on his face when he sees you.

Step 15: Kiss him so hard his knees go a little weak and he gets flustered. You just couldn’t help yourself.

Step 16: Pull out the card, give him a little speech about how much you love him and watch his eyes glisten, that sap.

Step 17: Finally utter the question “will you be my Valentine?”

Step 18: Find yourself with an armful of teary-eyed Wonho, crying out “yes” and successfully drawing the attention of the other two customers as well as the staff.

Step 19: Sigh. You can’t take this cutie anywhere.

Step 20: Pull him even closer. Relish in the feeling of having your one and only Valentine.

How to bake Christmas cookies with Wonho

Step 1: Go to the grocery store to buy ingredients.

Step 2: Stop chasing each other around the store long enough to actually buy them.

Step 3: Go home and gather all the supplies: mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons, aprons, cookie sheet, cooking spray, cookie cutters, etc.

Step 4: Put on aprons. Find a way to get Wonho to stop smothering you with kisses because “you look so darn cute!”

Step 5: Preheat the oven and start mixing ingredients together. Realize halfway that you forgot the vanilla extract and witness Wonho racing out the door to get it for you.

Step 6: Prepare for Wonho to take an hour and a half to get “just one thing.”

Step 7: Be ready to scold him when he comes back with extra sprinkles, a mini Christmas tree, an ornament shaped plate and basically everything except the vanilla extract.

Step 8: Scold him and then find the vanilla extract on the top shelf of your cupboard. Kiss Wonho’s pout away.

Step 9: Finish mixing the ingredients and let Wonho roll out the dough. Admire his forearms as he does so.

Step 10: Use the cookie cutters to make cute little trees, ornaments, Santa hats, snowmen - and is that a bunny, Wonho? Really?

Step 11: Spray the sheet with cooking spray, lay the cookies out and put them in the oven carefully. Whew, no disasters thus far.

Step 12: Make hot chocolate to enjoy with the cookies as they bake. Load them up with marshmallows and laugh when you realize Wonho is actually a human marshmallow. 

Step 13: Take the finished cookies out carefully, and start decorating them with frosting, sprinkles and candy after they’ve cooled.

Step 14: Get distracted when Wonho slowly licks the stray icing off your finger. Go back to your cookies with a blush.

Step 15: Lay out the finished cookies on the plate Wonho bought and realize he already ate one.

Step 16: Spend the rest of the evening eating cookies, cuddling by the fireplace and feeling lucky that you have Wonho by your side.

Telling Wonho you love him for the first time

There’s nothing special about the day

You’re both hanging out in bed

He’s watching some movie on his laptop

While you’re scrolling through your phone

It might seem weird

But just being close is enough for the two of you

His leg pressed against yours

A warm weight to remind you he’s there and he’s real

An existence you ponder sometimes

Like when he’s sleeping and looks like an angel instead of a human

Or when he smiles at you and it seems like time just stops

Or when he kisses you soft and sweet, and you can’t tell if you’re floating or not

But then the world starts moving again

Your feet are on the ground

And Wonho is living, breathing in your arms

It’s on this not special day

That you decide you can’t keep it in any longer

So you turn to your side

And ask him to close his laptop

“I have to tell you something” you say

There’s a flash of panic in his eyes before he powers down the screen

But it quickly subsides and he faces you

Laying his head on the pillow and putting his hand on your hip

You take a second to start talking

Admiring the curves of his face and the hue of his lips

Before you can get lost in his eyes you tell him he doesn’t have to say anything back

His eyebrows furrow slightly in confusion

But he stays quiet and listens closely

While you tell him how he makes you feel

How he calms your insecurities and makes you unashamed of your flaws

How grateful you are that he’s always there for you

Cheering you on when your confidence is low and comforting you when things go wrong

How his laughter makes your heart beat 

And how his arms around you make you feel safe

How proud you are of how hard he works

And how he amazes you every day with his caring nature and quiet intelligence

How having him by your side is the greatest gift

And how you will always cherish him

Because you love him, you say

By the time you’ve finished

Wonho is openly crying

Baring his heart for you to see 

You wipe his tears with the pads of your finger

Looking back at him with your own misty eyes

Before you know it you’re on your back

Arms full of Wonho 

He hides his face in your shoulder

Tears starting to wet your shirt

You just hold him tighter and tuck your chin on top of his head

After a few minutes his grip loosens and he looks up at you through damp lashes

“I love you too” he whispers

You slowly kiss his trembling lips

And the rest of the day passes like that

Just two people in love 

Admitting it for the first time

You fell in love with Sehun under the soft pink glow of dawn, shaded by the palm trees lining this empty boulevard in Malibu. He woke you up from the sweet embrace of slumber not fifteen minutes before, wearing a yellow sweater that covered his knuckles and dipped at the collar to show the moles scattered on his collarbone. 

“Come see this,” he whispered, minty breath telling you he’d already been awake, freshening up in the bathroom before he decided to rouse you too. 

He tugged your sleepy body outside, now clad in a mint cardigan that smelled like him, a little woodsy, a little musky, and entirely like he spent an afternoon curled up by the fireplace, poking at the embers and thinking of you.

“Look,” he said, a small smile curling his full lips.

You watched the sky change colors together, transforming in a rainbow of pastels until the sun finally burst over the horizon, washing everything with a brightness that made you squint as you glanced at Sehun, his eyes shaded with his hand.

Despite how beautifully the Earth turns and greets each day, nothing was more stunning to you in that moment than Sehun and the content happiness he felt spending another morning with you, sharing the simple joy of watching a sunrise, kept warm by your arms around his waist.

Expecting a baby with Shinwon

When you tell him you’re pregnant:

super extra reaction at first

totally shocked, mouth wide open

“Ehhhhh?!?!? Really??”

then starts crying while talking about how happy he is and how much he loves you 

“Ah, I’m the luckiest man alive”

that night he whispers sweet nothings into your ear as you fall asleep

promising to do his best for you

First trimester:

you’re used to Shinwon’s romantic gestures 

he can look cold but he’s the warmest man you know

still, you didn’t expect him to bring you a rose 

every 

single

day

he keeps it in a vase on your nightstand

beside a stack of parenting books he bought you

replaces it every morning with a fresh one when he brings you breakfast

you don’t know where he gets them from

even though you looked everywhere in the house

it’s his cute little secret

and it makes you smile in a time when you’re nervous about the months to come

Second trimester:

he already knew that he was going to hire painters and get Ikea to assemble the furniture for the nursery

because lol no

so his main priority is making sure you get whatever you want for the baby’s room

eggshell white for the walls to so the colorful decals will pop?

you got it

furniture that can grow with the baby?

of course

a replica of the stuffed animal you had as a kid?

it takes him weeks, hundreds of Google searches and a little bit of pulling his hair out

but he gets it for you

his reward is the big smile on your face

and maybe a new permanent bald spot

Third trimester:

you know your man is always kinda jumpy

but in the last few months of your pregnancy it’s tenfold

every time you as much as cough

he thinks you might be going into labor

at first it was funny

but then it got kind of annoying

especially when he would wake you up in the middle of the night

just because he thought he felt the baby kick

....despite that he wasn’t anywhere near your belly

so you gotta give him a stern talking to

and show him a bunch of videos of women going into labor so he understands what to expect and what is obviously not happening yet

then he finally calms down

spends his energy preparing for the big day instead

showing you that he’ll work to be a better man for his family

Expecting a baby with Hui

When you tell him you’re pregnant:

this chatterbox would be speechless

for so long that it gets a little awkward

and you start to worry

but when you ask him what’s up

he looks at you with tear tracks on his face

and he just hugs you tightly

neither of you have to say a word

but you both know you’ll be there for one another

First trimester:

he gets really worried about your morning sickness

so he keeps a bucket, water and easy to digest foods by your side of the bed

you thought you’d be embarrassed about it

but his concern is so genuine you just let him take care of you

he’s constantly inspired to write songs for you and the baby

so almost every night he’s singing you a new lullaby

plays piano a lot more now too

it’s kind of funny because you can tell his emotions through his playing

the happier he is, the higher the notes he plays

doesn’t buy any books

instead subscribes you to all the parenting magazines

has a new tidbit to share everyday

“did you know if we read to our baby everyday, it’ll help them learn how to talk later???”

melts you every day with his enthusiasm

Second trimester:

he’s really proud of the muscles he got from working out

so he decides to assemble all the Ikea furniture and arrange it in the nursery

waves off your help

“my babies should rest, I’ll take care of it, love”

three hours later you wake u from your nap

with Hui collapsed on top of the sheets next to you, sweaty and gross

“babe, our sheets are gonna get dirty”

his eyes snap open

“laundry! that I can do!”

he gently gets you off the bed and starts stripping the sheets off

runs to the laundry room like he’s being chased

later you find out after hours of working he just couldn’t do put the dang furniture together

ends up hiring someone and sulks around the house trying to feel competent with cleaning 

Third trimester:

he tries really hard to hide how nervous he is

even though now he spends all his time reading up on the labor process and what happens after

constantly reassures you that everything will go smoothly even when you didn’t say anything

makes sure to discuss every aspect with you

about whether you want an epidural or not

if you prefer a hospital or home birth

who you want to be present

he arranges things so you don’t have to worry

a few weeks before the due date

you decide to surprise him with a candlelit dinner and a letter about how wonderful he’s been through it all

he cries so hard, it shocks you

but seeing him be open with his emotions lets you shed some tears as well

because you’re just so happy you’re becoming a parent with him

Expecting a baby with E’Dawn

When you tell him you’re pregnant:

there’s a long pause between when you tell him and when the words finally sink in

lets out an earsplitting scream once he realizes what you just said

“You’re lying!! REALLY?!?”

starts laughing out of disbelief

then he quiets down and you think he’s finally calm

but really he starts crying a bit

which totally surprises you

he suddenly gets up and hugs you

holding you close and whispering in your ear

thanking you for making him a father

First trimester:

after reading up on how music will help the baby

he gets excited about playing songs for it

until he realizes most of the songs he likes are laden with curse words

so he finds the instrumentals

and rewrites the lyrics so they’re all about how much he loves you and the baby

and how excited he is about having a family

when he thinks you’re sleeping

he changes to a slower song

and raps heartfelt lyrics that make you tear up

when the first teardrop falls

he realizes you’re not asleep

but he doesn’t say anything

just smiles softly and holds you close

letting the beat of his heart lull you into slumber

Second trimester:

when the second trimester rolls around

and the two of you start attending baby classes

he starts realizing where he falls short

like his cooking skills 

and his ability to put together Ikea furniture

so he diligently starts practicing more

gets a kindle so he can download cookbooks and parenting books 

joins online chatrooms with other soon-to-be dads

even starts calling his own parents more

although he slightly regrets it when they scold him for only calling when he needs them

one night you catch him asleep in the nursery

surrounded by blankets that he folded around watermelons

it makes your heart melt to see how hard he’s working to be a good father

even though he never shows how much he’s doing

Third trimester:

while he’s been laid back most of the time

when it gets closer to the due date he starts getting nervous

you won’t notice it right away

but then the signs start coming out

he can’t stop moving around, always finding something to rearrange or clean

you catch him writing a lot and then throwing away the paper

when you unwrap one out of curiosity

it’s a list of all the things you might need for the hospital

finally his waste of paper and incessant need to move gets on your nerves

and you sit him down

he unexpectedly gets really sad and tells you how worried he is something will go wrong

it’s kinda cute so you coo at him a little before reassuring him that everything will be ok

that you’re both prepared and as long as you face things together, it will go well

he still sulks a little but slowly starts to cheer up

until it’s the day and he’s finally back to the happy Hyojong you know

the Hyojong who will quietly make sure things turn out perfect

Wonho as your best friend

you met him through mutual friends

thought he was totally annoying with that dorky laugh

but then one night all your friends ditch early

and it’s just the two of you

somehow you wander to a nearby park

kind of sketchy in the dead of night

and talk about everything

from your dreams to your fears to your secrets

you realize underneath his goofy exterior

lies someone really intelligent

and from then on you’re inseparable

platonic soulmates, if you will

he understands and accepts you in a way you never thought a friend would

and supports you no matter what

cries every time he reads your heartfelt cards

always ready to be your stand-in bf

or rescue you from a bad date

his muscles really come in handy then!

encourages you to go to the gym with him

but also the first to tell you to treat yourself to that cookie

loves skinship

a little too much sometimes

“Tone it down, we’re in public! This is why everyone thinks we’re dating!”

he gets really annoyed when people insist you’re dating

“What, I can’t be this close to someone without dating them?”

shuts down every person who says no

likes to set you up on blind dates with his mom’s friend’s kids

“I can keep a better eye on them this way!”

when you feel down, he cheers you up with extra cheesy compliments

“It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you~"

“Are you quoting The Fault In Our Stars to me right now??”

always brings your favorite snacks on movie night

the only one willing to binge watch Naruto with you

also cries as the same parts you do

your mutual friends refuse to watch anime with you two now, after that one incident when you both simultaneously burst into tears when Itachi died

yeah, that was awkward

always willing to go on an adventure with you

“let’s go get ice cream in the next town over!”

“it’s 4am...”

“so?”

“...I”ll be there in five.”

tries to help you study

but ends up being the biggest distraction with his random, existential questions

“do ants have souls too?”

he always calls you first when he has exciting news

sometimes his parents joke that they’re jealous you’re the one he goes to first

but really they adore you

and how good you’ve been for him

they secretly wish you were together but they know better

he’s only your best friend

and things are perfect that way
