frantically reminding people that the update is MOST LIKELY NOT ADVENTURE MODE.

Tidelord returning has been DECONFIRMED FOR THIS ANNI UPDATE AND IS TIED TO ADVENTURE MODE

So we can eliminate Adventure Mode as the Anniversary update

Here's what it COULD be though, just based on random speculation and things that haven't been deconfirmed:

-Merfolk Lore rework. We know Beastfolk lore rehashing is happening, and we got a new writer on the team...

-MORE UNDERWATER AREAS and a Dustcarve Dig-esque event. We have a whole map layer that's barely used, and DCD was super fun!

-A new Breed (Modern or Ancient). It looks like something is approaching our continent in the previews after all!

I'm actually more bummed out about the news, it feels like the staff is putting too much in their hands while they're full already

When it comes to backtracking in work (they are doing this for good reasons and I am glad they are fixing the lore), you have to understand that moving forward will be hard or best just put to a hold. It's a lot of work to fix so many years of lore and do it careful. I am also certain it may not be a perfect fix first time around but they will get there.

But the new ancient was not necessary at this time...

There will be players (I'm sure) complaining why there is no lore for this dragon, why it's not getting the same treatment as other ancients, how awkward it will be to have them around without any info etc...

I see people on forums are saying that this is the standard update time for a new breed but despite that they were releasing so quickly so soon between each other since undertides onward... it's a lot of work. Sure, maybe it was in process for awhile but these are still not small updates.

With backtracking, a halt of big new updates would be more productive, I think. Smaller updates could have been much better way to handle so much work, like just fixing the genes or adding existing ones to the list of other ancients who don't have them, like they have been doing so far.

What I'm trying to say is that we could have waited for this ancient a little longer. I fear that devs are releasing it as a way to redeem themselves for the mistake, which doesn't really help at the grand looks of it given that this new ancient will be loreless for awhile.

But I don't know how business is lead what happens behind the scene, none of us really do so take what I write here with a grain of salt. This is more of me worrying than critiquing the staff and telling them how to do their job. I hope they are not stressing more than focusing on what they feel is currently necessary to do.

So I’m not usually the type to plug my Flight Rising stuff on tumblr but I’ve spent several months working on a few pairs of my favorite color combos just in time for Halloween! Please post on the forum if interested, it is greatly appreciated!

I plan on nesting all 3 pairs to hatch on Halloween! And if there’s enough interest I may pair them outside of that for reduced prices.

May I offer my shot in the dark for this Update, as it came to me in a dream (As is the case around this time of year as the anniversary has me thinking about FR before bed). Also I just think its funny and wanted to share

A new option for those not committed to any Flight: Flightless. Dragons who wander the seas outside the main continent eventually lose connection to their local God and their elemental powers

In the dream, they were white-eyed and there was HUGE DRAMA over how close they were to Ice Flight Eyes. Ice Flight users everywhere were in an uproar.

Flightless dragons who were exalted joined their own leader's coalition and therefore counted towards Dominance, replacing the Beastclans.

This dream also put forward that the Arcanist literally owns all of space, because the Aethers were gone from Sornieth for eons and didn't suffer Flightlessness
