warning: dubcon, predator and prey, double peen, breeding
Imagine being bought as food for a snake!hybrid only for him to keep you as his little bunny mate~
Every hybrid knew that getting taken home from the store was a good day. You had just arrived, and you mingled with the other bunny hybrids as people began filing in to look at the new hybrids available.
Before you knew it, you were being lifted out of your enclosure, your hair being styled and your fluffy ears brushed before you were dressed in soft pastels that complimented your eyes.
For most people, a bunny hybrid would either be a prized possession or a sexual partner, and you assumed you'd be the second by all the pampering you were receiving before you were purchased.
It made you nervous just as much as it excited you.
Your chubby cheeks heated up as you imagined the life you'd have outside of the hybrid store. Would you be doted on as a precious pet, or lusted after by a handsome owner?
It made your heart race to think about!
But your hopes were dashed when you were handed over to a tall, scary looking man. He barely looked at you as he talked to the owner of the store, keeping a tight grip on your leash.
"She's the most plump bunny hybrid we have, sir. It seems you like them chubby, huh?"
The man looked down at you with a strange, almost sinister look. "You could say that."
As he led you out of the store, your cotton tail wagged nervously. "O-owner, where are we going?"
He stayed quiet for a moment before glancing down at you. "I'm not your owner, I bought you for someone else."
You felt a sudden wave of relief. Maybe he had a girlfriend that he wanted to give you to, or had kids.
Although you weren't thrilled to be a nanny or some pet that was fussed over, it was better than having to mate with some weird guy.
Unfortunately, your fate was worse than you could have ever imagined.
He led you into his dark home, pushing you inside and getting rough with you the second no one else could see.
"Can't believe they dress you little vermin up like this, makes it harder for my big guy to digest you."
You blinked in confusion, but a yelp was ripped from you when the man grabbed you by the ears and dragged you down a flight of stairs into a dimly lit basement.
"S-stop that, it hurts!" you babbled out, tears running down your chubby cheeks. The man only scoffed, holding you still as he took out a key.
"You won't be in pain for much longer."
You heard the sound of him unlocking something, and you were shoved into a door before it was slammed behind you.
All you could do was cry. That asshole owner of yours had been rough with your delicate ears, tossed you into a damp and dark room, then left you all alone!
As tears poured down your chubby cheeks and fell into your lap, you heard a sound somewhere in the distance. Instantly, your ears pricked up and you were on full alert.
Your instincts told you something was watching and waiting for the moment to strike.
Before you could think of fight or flight, something wrapped around your body, constricting your movements.
“Finally, owner has given me something good to eat~”
You thrashed around violently, every movement only making whatever was wrapped around you tighten even more.
“Don’t struggle, you poor little thing. It’ll be over quick, I promise,” he cooed. Something wet flicked across your neck, a purring rumbling in his chest.
“P-please, don’t kill me! I’ll… d-do anything!” you blubbered out, your little bunny heart thumping wildly in your chest. You could just die from fright! Just before a pair of teeth were about to sink into your flesh, they stopped and simply brushed against your skin.
“Oh… anything, hmm?”
You were nearly blinded when the light was turned on. Whatever had been restraining you loosened just enough for you to pull out your arms and rub your eyes.
When you opened them, you nearly had a heart attack.
Staring down at you was a pair of pink snake eyes, and wrapped around your body was a thick tail of pure muscle. The white and pink scales glittered in the dim light, sparkling so brightly you nearly had to squint to see.
“Mmm… you are pretty cute. Usually I devour my pray in the dark and digest under my heat lamp after,” the snake hybrid mused, squeezing you. The squeak you let out seemed to amuse him.
“My owner hasn’t brought me a mate yet… I guess I’ll have to make due for now.”
He held you up, opening up your thighs to get a look at you. Your body trembled, and you let out scared squeaks as he pulled the silk panties you had been dressed in aside.
“I knew I smelled something good… look at you, little bunny. Youre soaking wet…”
Before your cruel owner threw you downstairs, you had been imagining so many different things. Bunny hybrids were typically bought for companionship, and usually of the sexual variety.
Two of his fingers pumped in and out of you, curling up inside and pressing against your g-spot. “Such a brave bunny… I’ve had a few offer their pussy to me before, but I’ve never taken them up on the offer. You’re different, so soft…”
His tongue flicked out again. “And you’re so close to your heat, aren’t you?”
You squirmed in his grasp, feeling his tail tighten around you again. Although he talked a big game, his cocks twitched in excitement as he teased and played with your cunt.
The snake hybrid had never been so close to a fertile female before. His words from before had been a lie, no female had ever offered to mate with him. This would be his first time…
Drool dropped into your shoulder as he positioned his cocks at your entrance, his precum helping to lube up your hole.
His cocks were almost dripping, and he was desperate to claim his little mate. Going a few weeks without a meal wouldn’t be so bad if he had such a cute little bunny to fuck whenever he pleased.
One of his hands gripped and squeezed your fat ass, and he licked his lip when he noticed your little bunny tail twitching.
It was embarrassing, he was already head over heels for you. The snake hybrid wouldn’t let you know that though, he enjoyed hearing you little squeaks and whimpers as you wondered when he’d devour you.
One of his cock stretched you out slowly. Your little bunny cunt was meant to be used and bred, it was what you were made for. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was, getting such a perfect little bunny as his mate.
“I’m gonna take good care of you,” he cooed, bouncing you on one cock as the other rubbed against your clit. “Gonna fatten you up even more, my cute little bunny~”
You whimpered, already on your third orgasm. The stimulation of his tip against your clit as his other cock pressed against your cervix was almost too much to bear!
His cum dropped out of your poor cunt by the time he was done with you. Everything felt sore, and his lower body constricting you as he clung to your chubby form didn’t help much.
You felt like a toy… and it seemed he would be playing with you often.

Summary: At the eve of your anniversary, you let the men, most precious to your heart, show you exactly how they love and cherish you. Slow and measured. Piece by piece.
Author’s Notes: I have been driven so insane ever since the drop of that crazy trailer, all I’ve been able to fantasize about are these beautiful men. Did so individually at first before they eventually converged within my mind into this behemoth romantic-sexy fest. (If you know me or my stories, you know I cannot go a second breathing without a little love in my sex LOL)
This one’s for all my harem loving folks who’ve been left thirsty after the “Misty Invasions” trailer. Happy reading!
You oscillate at the entrance to the penthouse suite, fingers tracing the sleek outline of the key card your boyfriend had provided you with, earlier; eager gaze skittering back towards the door. Heart within your throat and a swarm of butterflies flittering within the base of your stomach.
An entire year had passed you by; the day of your relationship anniversary upon you now. And you’d decided amongst you, in distinct words and heated whispers, that you’d make it a day well worth commemorating.
You smile at the recollection of Sylus’ amused gaze — blood-red garnet — as it had met your surprised one, a few days prior. He’d had you search up his entire house for an elusive Mephisto, on the pretence of having lost sight of him. Finding him at last, perched atop the silken pillows of his bed. And held within his beak, a sleek black card the bird had let drop into your palm, obedient, before taking flight.
A key access to the penthouse suite of one of the most luxurious hotels in Linkon City.
Sylus had tugged you close — his warm breath, a sweet caress against the shell of your ear — stating the date and time for you to be there, without questions asked. Your heart had thrilled at the time in nervous anticipation.
Just as it does now as you move to hoist your umbrella — damp still from the outpour outside — onto your arm, clutching a bouquet of flowers close to your chest.
Reaching to swipe your card, at long last, against the room’s digital pad—
Before the door sways open on its own. Your gaze skipping, immediate, to meet the owner’s: scarlet, warm in amused affection. “How much longer were you planning to dither at the door?” His hand curves about yours as he steers you inside. Reaching to help you out with your coat and umbrella.
“How did you even—”
Sylus angles his face in mute indication, at the door, just in time for you to catch sight of Mephisto sweeping across the hallway, disappearing just as swift around a corner, with a triumphant crow.
“I am going to cook that bird one of these days,” you mutter, discomfited at the thought of Sylus having been standing privy to your entire vacillation session outside.
A large hand curls about your jaw, insisting your gaze upwards, just as you feel the heat of Sylus’ mouth on yours. “Don’t fret any longer,” his lips brushing each word right against yours. Every stroke tending sparks of fire against your skin. “you’ll make me want to tease you. And I promised them I’d be kind to you today.” The thick baritone of his quiet laughter sinks, hot, into your chest; down into the depths of your belly.
Your hand curves about the back of his neck, heaving that infuriating mouth back against yours. “Please do be quiet for once.” Fingers grazing at the base of his hair before they card upwards, tugging at the strands.
His mouth pulls into a wider smile, just as you all but force the large bouquet of flowers you still carry, against the firm expanse of his chest.
“Happy anniversary, Sylus.” You murmur softly, flushed gaze fixated upon the flowers — snowdrops and lilies, roses and clematis — a representation of each of their colours that had painted your life brighter, over the course of your years together. You truly hoped your boyfriends would love them.
Garnet gaze narrowing in quiet affection, Sylus coaxes your attentions back to him with a call of your name. “And to you.”
“Now,” He winds an arm about your waist, dragging you flush against his torso. “let me find a place for these beauties while you go hop into the shower. You’re cold to the touch.” And when you move to protest, he silences it with a delicate brush of his thumb against your lip before he too bows forwards, to murmur, just shy of your mouth. “I promise you won’t miss me long, sweetheart.”
Leaving you in the stewing solace of your own indecent thoughts.
Your relieved exhale breaks in soft wisps of white curling into the air, well comforted by the heat of your quick shower. Your eyes drifting absently towards the bath you’d drawn, your favourite scent now permeating the space of your bathroom.
Petals rippling across the surface of placid warm waters; you knew how your artist appreciated the romanticism of your relationship. When you let yourself go and allowed yourself free expression of your adoration, for your Lemurian beloved. The colour, it never failed to bring flush to his cheeks at your simple gestures of affection, he so deserved. He had waited, and for so long.
A mere speck of his patience, against your current restless wait, ever since his message had lighted your screen earlier this evening, indicating he’d be there to join you, soon.
Sooner, you whisper into the air, slinking a cautious hand down the line of your stomach and towards your mound.
It was so incredibly difficult to have all your lovers, gathered together in one place, owing to how busy each of you were with your respective schedules. Tonight, hence, was a rare, precious occasion and you intended to make the most of it.
“Why so distracted.” A deep voice resonates at your back; a swift curl of pulsating red capturing your wrist before your fingers have the chance to brush in between your legs. Heaving your wrist up and back, depositing it prisoner into Sylus’ waiting palm. “You barely noticed me.” The roughened pads of his digits graze at the tender skin of your wrist in soft warning, before he lets go. “Couldn’t wait even a moment for me, huh?”
You turn to face him, a puckish smile you know is already teasing at the corners of your mouth. “Just engaging in some personal time.”
Sylus stands before you, body bare, save for the towel that keeps him from you, wrapped about his waist. A sturdy arm reaches past your shoulder, turning the shower off. Motions entirely unhurried. Deceptively tranquil, you do not miss the blood-red heat that simmers at the edges of that observing gaze.
“Oh?” He crowds you a step closer into the wall. Your fingers coast in tense anticipation about the knot of his towel. “You wouldn’t mind if I turned that into a private time for two, would you, kitten?”
You put on a deliberate show of pondering the question; a patient raised brow your lover keeps focused upon you.
Until you tip a coquettish gaze his way and answer. “I suppose I would no—” Your response, Sylus pilfers from your tongue before you can utter it, pulsing a quick kiss of violence against your lips.
Your digits impatiently work to release him from the final confines of his towel, absently tossing it aside. And onto the gnarled vines of red lurking at the edges of your vision, immediately reach to snatch up the cloth, discarding it into a wash bin close by.
Laughter in between heavy breaths; coveting fingers, free at last, skate down the strength of his thighs, skimming past his stiff arousal. A small gasp of appreciation you break against his mouth just as Sylus lurches his hips forward, once, into your grasp to better let you admire the effect you have on him.
“It’s been too long.” you murmur into the space he spares you in between wet kisses.
“Darling,” he exhales; a small, rough sound of pleasure. “Not yet.”
Sylus’ hands stir down the length of your body, fingers finding target, and pulsing into the soft of your ass before you can try and bribe your case with him, to give you what you want. Hefting you up entirely onto the corded strength of his arms, stifling your sound of surprise against his mouth.
He bids you wrap your legs about his waist, as he walks you both over towards the luxurious bath. “Now,” Settling down into the warm, scented water, he eases you back against himself. “Let us get you washed properly.”
You eventually relent and let him do as he pleases for the next several minutes.
Drifting a careful hand about the expanse of your legs, you try not to squirm too much when that devious hand skirts about your inner thighs. Across the arc of your clavicle, down the slope of your breastbone. His palms bear down against your abdomen in provocative press-release motions. You're not quite sure what kind of bathing Sylus assumes he’s doing except just keying you higher, the longer you endure his hands upon you.
Hands that grow unrepentant and bold with time, the self-pleased skew of those infuriating lips following soon after, down the slope of your neck, along the curve of your shoulder. You tip your face sideways, smoothing a quick kiss onto his jaw. “You keep this up any longer and you’re going to have an incredibly frustrated woman on your hands.”
He buries his grin into your shoulder.
“And I’m not sure what I’ll do then.” you threaten mildly.
“Is that so? I’d certainly like to see you try.” He accepts your provocation.
You reach an arm up, winding it about his neck. Fingers splaying against the damp brush of his hair as you angle your head up and he obliges, head canting for your mouth to catch against his. His tongue sweeps against yours in immediate insistence, your eager allowance in the slack fall of your mouth as he presses into you.
Sylus’ indolent digits change tune then; a large palm he curves about the weight of your breast and squeezes. The roughened pads of them toying at the pert apex, until he coaxes your moans out for himself.
The muted click of a lock sounds within your surroundings; quiet, save for the gentle ripples of water and your damp sounds of pleasure.
“Ah,” Sylus murmurs in between kisses. “He’s here now. We would’ve ended up using the little princeling’s entire bath for ourselves if he’d turned up any later.”
A thrill of pleasure and adoring desire crests itself within your chest, calling your approaching beloved’s name on a long sigh of pleasure Sylus wrenches out of you. “That’s it, sweetheart, tempt him on higher sounds next.”
Restless within his lap, you wrench your mouth away from his, raising yourself onto your knees to turn, capturing him in between your thighs.
Just as Rafayel steps past the threshold of the baths, appearing to be in the midst of wresting himself out a long sodden shirt. You absently muse how he must’ve forgotten to carry an umbrella with him, yet again, out on one of his painting expeditions, despite your reminder to him just last night. “It’s pouring crazy out there and I’m drenched to the bone—”
His words nicked mid-sentence with the slow rise of those bluish-florid eyes — taking in the lascivious scene in front — along with your thoughts torn into jagged shards of pleasure with the firm catch of Sylus’ teeth against your breast. A large hand he splays at your back, enticing you closer into his mouth.
Your eyes, refusing to stray from Rafayel’s, even as he remains rooted to the threshold. A flush beginning to colour against the arch of his cheeks to witness how Sylus augments your pleasure further underneath his enraptured gaze.
Pleased joy ripples through you, to be putting on a tantalising show for your beloved Lemurian, entreating him closer on soft sighs and broken moans of his name.
“Please,” your next gasp of pleasure scatters under the prick of stimulated tears. “Rafayel, my heart, come to me.”
And like a beautiful marionette pulled upon by its strings, he obeys your request, striding towards the two of you. Bestowing mercy upon your poor heart, you feel, could pound right out of your chest.
He tips downwards, long, graceful digits sweeping delicate beneath the cut of your jaw to raise. Brushing a sweet kiss of greeting against your mouth. “I’m here, beloved.”
Fingers refusing to cease his exploratory touches, his thumb glides past your cheeks, dusting right beneath your eyes at stray tears.
“Welcome home,” you greet, your own fingers curving about his jaw in hazy affection.
“You’re late,” Sylus speaks, his hand trekking a careful path about the flare of your hip.
Rafayel frowns at that. “I know. Not like I didn’t try to be here sooner.” Fingers tinkering at his belt buckle before he slides it, smooth out of its confines. Your eager hands reaching to assist, rushing down the line of buttons at his shirt, divesting him of his impediments.
“You’re freezing, Rafayel.” You observe, palms pressed up against his naked abdomen.
He catches one of your hands within his, feathering a kiss onto your knuckles. “Warm me, then.” An irrefutable instruction as much as it is his soft request.
Relieved entirely of his clothes, he steps into the bath, fingers entwining against yours in a firm hold, coaxing you onto his body instead.
“You're so cosy.” He appreciates in between hungering kisses. “Share more of your heat with me.” The soft squish of your breasts mould against the solid expanse of his chest the deeper you try and press against the other, your arms encased about his neck, fingers carding greedily through the wet strands of his hair.
Rafayel shifts your positions, guiding you back against Sylus’ chest by your threaded digits. The hard heat of Sylus’ cock presses against the cleft of your ass as Rafayel drives you further in by the urgency of his kisses.
His bond shimmers to life — a scarlet vow — right above his heart, your own thrilled by the rapidly dissipating chill of his body, replaced with passionate warmth.
“I’ve missed you.” He drags your intertwined digits closer, directing your hand to press against the thrumming of his heart. “And especially today, being so important. I wanted to be next to you for the entirety of it.”
Rafayel’s eyes, misted in desire and affection so acute, your breath catches at your throat at the sheer intensity of it. He secretes a gentle kiss into the fold of your palm. “I want us to make this a memorable anniversary.”
“You already are.” You keen softly, in assurance, fingers stroking down the length of Sylus’ thigh. “I desire you both so very much right now.”
He returns your fervent regard in the thick digits that skim past the curve of your spine, fingering in sparing strokes at the rim of your ass. You gasp at the sensation, body clenching in on the emptiness it has long been subjected to.
You need them both; the carnal strength of your want winds you breathless.
Sylus had left you suspended upon a torturous precipice for so long, you weren’t sure how much longer you could hold on for.
“Hey,” Rafayel prompts.
Garnet binds immediately spring to life, streaking towards the bottles lined up neat atop a marble slab. Plucking one up as if by rote memory, before depositing it into Rafayel’s grasp. “As our princeling desires,” Sylus speaks; the raw amusement you can hear within his words.
Rafayel’s response is all but a raised brow — they have learned to synchronize well against each other, you realize with a shaky exhale. You are glad, as you are nervous, for the state of your body; the havoc they wreck onto you, once your boys are in tandem.
The lubricant well-smeared across Rafayel’s digits, he reaches in between your bodies to run his fingers against the same place Sylus does, two sets of different fingers they ease, gentle, into your ass. Rafayel’s low groan of pleasure, you lunge forwards to drink against your lips.
“I need—” you cry out against him, just as Rafayel withdraws from you entirely to leave Sylus to press his fingers deeper into you, a slow, caressing slide; eased by their gentle loosening of your hole.
Rafayel hums a low, euphoric sound. “Do you need him deep inside you, my love?”
“Yes.”
“You’re almost there for me, sweetheart. Breathe.” Sylus’ grunt of approval at your compliance, he drowns into a relishing bite at your shoulder.
Rafayel’s mouth descends upon your breasts, pulsing open mouthed kisses right above the expanse of your thundering heart, his fingers finding their way towards your neglected slit, mercifully pressing into you. A loud, broken moan wrenched out of your throat, pleasure now far palpable after having been edged for so long.
“You’re so wet. So very captivating when you are like this.”
“I love you, Rafayel.” you gasp, tears gathering at your eyes to feel so full of them both.
He pulses a kiss against your mouth in heated devotion, tongue warming against yours in between urgent breaths, “I am yours. Call for me, my beloved bride.”
“Rafayel.”
“Ah. Once more, so I know I am entirely yours to have.” he entreats, gaze heated.
His fingers gather pace — in tandem with Sylus’ controlled assault — striking rhythmic against your frontal walls on each thrust. A spot he gathers at, one that incinerates itself against his adept motions, insistent thumb gliding its touches about the sweet area of your apex, hurtling you faster towards a vehement finish.
“And that you are mine. Call my name, call for me.”
“Rafayel, my Rafayel.” And you tumble over the edge at that final delightfully sensual push, quivering nerveless, in between your lovers.
“There’s more of where that came from, kitten. Don’t give up on us now.” Sylus coaxes, extracting himself from the instinctual clench of your body, whimpering at the keen emptiness of his loss.
“Give yourselves to me,” you beg, “I need to feel you inside me.”
“And you shall have us,” Rafayel soothes, pressing the head of his cock against you.
“As many times as you need.” Sylus allows; the swell of his arousal striking heavy against the cleft of your ass.
The slow ingress of their cocks deep into your body, sends explosive stars skittering across your vision, the overwhelming fullness already throttling you into another orgasm so intense, they have to hold your body still against theirs. Propelling into you in tandem with each other until they set a rhythmic, burning pace within your swollen holes.
Rafayel’s fingers cup about your jaw, dragging you into a fervid, wet kiss. His moans of pleasure he drowns against the heat of your tongue.
Before Sylus lunges forward in a demand for your attentions next, strong digits threading through your locks to guide your head towards him, catching the string of pleasure that stretches thin in between your and Rafayel’s lips, as soon as it forms, against his mouth in a violent kiss.
The thick strength of his cock pulses firmer within your body, each swollen stroke of arousal you feel zip right up across your spine from how Sylus has taught your body to fit his daunting size, well. Each propulsion he carves deeper into your walls, a striking reminder of how intimately your body remembers the shape of him.
Rafayel takes to painting littered marks of pleasure against your neck, their lengths already throbbing in impending release, searing within you.
You squeeze about them at the sole, ruinous thought of their wet heats, flooding you soon. Moaning against Sylus’ mouth when their pacing turns reckless.
“Close,” Rafayel grits in need, cleaving your thighs up and open to constrain against Sylus, the man behind spares no mercy; hot scaffoldings of his own palms, he curves above Rafayel’s, so your sole choice is but to take.
“I’m almost, fuck—” Sylus groans a filthy, guttural sound, “you’ve gone so tight, sweetheart.” Burying his face into the stretch of your shoulder, just as Rafayel’s mouth finds yours at the apex of his pleasure, spurting hot within you.
Sylus’ own release, almost immediately after, his cock pulsates its thick release into your body, surge after surge of it, your body unable to accommodate it entirely. Their combined pleasures, the frenzied brush of both their fingers against your clit, sends you hurtling into your own orgasm, sobbing against Rafayel’s mouth.
Emptying them both, of their seed, for yourself.
You fall breathless against Sylus, strength and consciousness both seeming to flee with the final sparks of quivering pleasure that jolt about your limbs. Letting yourself rest against the strength of Sylus’ body as he soothes a kiss onto your damp temple. “A job well done, sweetheart.”
His final words, you accept in immense bliss, before entrusting yourself to your men in your vulnerability.
A long time has drifted by you, it seems — minutes or hours — you cannot quite tell the difference as your mind edges the cusp of awareness. You recall the sensation of your lovers’ hands upon you, phantom breaths that persist against the expanse of your skin, still. Words of adoration, grunts of desire, the press of their lips you feel within each sweet ache of your body.
The glancing touch of a hungering mouth, at the places you were weakest. The luxuriating stretch of silken sheets at your back — body coddled in soft fabric — as you shift, eyes drifting open on a haze of lust that still chokes your mind, a simmering wet heat kindling in between your legs. Flowing from you and onto an insistent tongue.
Your breath catches in your throat at the sensation, gaze rushing down the expanse of your body to snag at the sight of a silver-haired head buried in between the space of your legs, moon-pale strands brushing the skin of your thighs in ticklish strokes. “Oh. You’re awake.” Xavier speaks, right into your pussy. His fingers pulse about the catch of your legs, keeping you steady for a slow sweep of his tongue into your slit. Sending your fingers grappling forwards, into his hair, your hips lurching up into his mouth.
Cheeks flushing fast into crimson at the realisation of how wet he’s made you, in your slumber alone.
Xavier relents at last, rising from in between your legs. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself.” Your slick drenches his lips, smeared across his jaw; the sight sending a fresh jolt of arousal straight in between your legs.
“Xavier,” your voice sounds hoarse to your own ears. “starlight.”
He nuzzles his cheek, obedient, into the palm you stretch out for him. Pulses a wet kiss onto the expanse of sensitive skin. “We’re home.” He murmurs, clear cerulean eyes meeting yours.
“How have you been?” The quiet baritone of Zayne’s voice reaches your ears from above, you notice your head lies cradled within his lap, the pads of roughened fingertips scraping gentle circles into your scalp. You shift yourself upright onto the bed.
“Well. Now that you’re both here.” You curve coveting fingers about his jaw, luring his face closer to brush a gentle kiss against your lover’s mouth.
Zayne’s long changed out of his stifling attire, clad in a loose robe — he’s eased himself by your side. Carding absent fingers through the fall of your hair to hold steady, as you greet each other in chaste kisses.
The day’s harsh lines marred across his bow, softening with each kiss you flitter against his mouth, his cheeks, his lids apiece. He hasn’t had a proper weekend off from the hospital in ages; you’re determined to make the most of it now and help ease your beloved’s nerves tonight, and over the course of your rare days off.
You all deserved it, this short moment of reprieve, a chance to celebrate and enjoy what was purely yours.
You inch up across his lap, body much too aware of the moisture that soaks past swollen folds and leaks onto your thighs, an obscenity barely concealed by the flowing frills of your flimsy nightwear, caressing just past your ass. A fact, Xavier has not let you forget, owing to how his hands haven’t deprived you of their warmth, even when his mouth has — slow, stimulating touches across the stretch of your thighs, fingers tickling at the sensitive skin underneath your knees.
Xavier advances up the length of the bed, with you. His torso draping onto your back, careful hands gathering your hair to shift onto your other side, he grazes a demure kiss onto the crescent of your exposed shoulder.
You sink down upon Zayne, securing your much needed support, in the palms you press against the hard expanse of his chest. “How was your day?” Murmuring the question into the give of his neck.
“I had a graft and by-pass surgery planned earlier this afternoon.” Zayne replies, fingers trekking a measured path from your throat, down, along the slope of your clavicle; you shiver underneath his scrutiny. “It went well, so I was able to join you sooner rather than much later.”
“Owing all to your brilliance surely, Dr. Zayne.” Your affectionate smile, you secrete against his mouth. “Xavier, however. I expected you sooner, starlight.”
He hums — a sound of morose defeat — into your skin. “I nearly dozed on my feet during that unnecessarily long briefing.” Burying his face into the side of your neck, to breathe; his next murmurs stifled. “They could’ve just mailed the mission details to me. I wanted to head back with you too.”
You laugh softly, sinking your fingers indulgently into the silken strands of his hair. “Captain Jenna would be so upset if she heard you right now.”
“And you.” Large palms cup about the pliant flare of your waist, your breath hitches at Zayne’s provocative touch. “It certainly looks like those two did a somewhat decent job of taking care of you in our absence. The colour’s back in your cheeks.”
You smile, sheepish, at the remembrance of your last meeting; his displeased frown, vivid, from across the barrier of his work desk, as he’d prescribed a few vitamins for you to take, owing to the sallow pallor that had taken your face, an aftermath of long sleepless nights chasing Wanderers.
“Oh, they have.” You assure, “Speaking of, where are my missing two?”
Xavier’s teeth sink into a testing bite at the flesh of your neck. “Fixing a meal I think, Sylus mentioned.” He murmurs absently.
“Ah. We should all have—” your voice fractures. “dinner together.”
“Later.” Zayne leans forward, mouth skimming a gentle kiss in between your breasts. “Right now, I require you sate a different hunger of mine.” Teeth catching at the gauzy fabric of your lingerie. “Don’t make me wait any longer.” The low rugged quality to his request, pooling arousal deep into your belly.
“I like how she looks in this,” Xavier smooths a touch down the length of your thigh, fingering, gentle, at the frilled garter of the stocking encasing it. “I’m almost jealous of you, Doctor.”
“It is becoming on her,” Zayne agrees, large fingers cupping about the shape of your breasts, rolling at the peaks. You shift your hips in a grind upon his thigh, in an anguished effort for further stimulation. “But does the recipient herself approve of my gift?”
“She does,” you gasp. “If it gets you looking at her with such need, she does—” The rest of your words, Zayne pilfers right into his mouth in an engulfing kiss.
Strong fingers ghost the pliance of your body, down in between your legs to meet Xavier’s. Hot, glancing touches across your quivering pussy, coating their fingers in copious slick.
“The doctor looks so wound up,” Xavier comments mildly. “Help him relieve some of that pent-up stress, baby.”
“You—” Zayne grunts, just as Xavier steers your bodies until you lie, pliant, upon Zayne’s lap, the straining outline of his arousal barely concealed under the modesty of his robes. You moan enthusiastically, fingers undoing the fastenings of his robe to release him, free against eager lips.
“That looks painful,” Xavier comments with an insouciant shrug, hands firming their grip about your ass to raise. “How long have you been holding back?”
“Quiet, Xavier.” Zayne reproaches, voice throttled in raw need.
Your heart and body immediately melting for him, you put your mouth to the head of his cock, taking him in.
A quiver rips across his abdomen at the first lap of your tongue on him, his fingers gentle, encouraging within your hair. A vehement desire cascades forth: to see him make more of that expression, just for you.
“Wet him for yourself, just like that.” Xavier encourages on a soft catch of breath, tapered fingers curving into your drenched slit to stroke against your frontal walls.
Working your tongue steadily, about the generous girth of him — Zayne’s digits remain a patient point of pressure against your scalp — until he hits your throat, pleasant and full, at long last. You groan around him, Zayne swallowing heavily at the vibrations of your throat.
“Don’t be gentle.” Xavier speaks, releasing himself from the wet confines of your clenching walls — fingers he unfurls forwards, to smear across the free length of Zayne’s cock, your throat could not accommodate.
You feel Xavier settle heavy, upon the cleft of your ass; the head of his own cock he glides, indolent, in between your dripping folds.
And just as your insides flutter in impatient emptiness at the baiting stimulation, he enters you on a swift stroke, your garbled sound of pleasure, sending you deeper onto Zayne.
Xavier sets a furious, punishing pace for the three of you, your mouth working diligent against the hard strain of Zayne’s arousal. Your smothered cries of delight mixing with theirs, heated into the air; Zayne’s low guttural groans stirring deep into your belly, within the same space Xavier works open with his cock.
Your silver beast descends upon you, mouth working a steady path along the length of your spine, tongue sweeping a cool, wet trail in its wake.
His fingers reach to tuck stray strands of hair away from your face — easing them behind an ear before he gathers the fall of your hair into a gentle fist, granting an obstructed view of your ruination, to your lover in front.
The pleasured flush dashed across Zayne’s cheekbones, hurtles higher to witness the wreck of desire you know is upon your face. He looks at you as if he wants to love and ruin you, it sends a jolt of inundating slick, right between your legs.
Xavier grunts at your tightening walls, licking a strip up the curve of your ear. “Can I—” His voice ruptures in overwhelming arousal. “—inside? I want to. Let me?”
Your answer; a moan of vehement assent, intermixing with Zayne’s responsive groan. Come for me, Xavier.
His grip upon your hips turns bruising, pelvis driving hard against your ass until he’s releasing himself; hot, pulsating strokes of come, painting into you.
He pulls almost immediately out of your quivering walls, palms shifting underneath your body to lift, until he positions you, right atop Zayne’s drenched cock. His seed still spilling out onto the swollen head of him, just as he coaxes your hips down to take Zayne in, the two of you groaning out in concert at your union.
Zayne surges forwards, sweat soaked forehead pressing against yours; a low, inarticulate curse tumbles from his lips at the clench of your walls, still sensitised from Xavier’s release.
“You’re burning up.” Long, thick digits curve beneath the nerveless stretch of your thighs, guiding you in deep, measured thrusts over his cock. Xavier’s ministrations having had you well-prepared to accommodate Zayne in a single stroke.
On usual days, your body able to accept him only in gradual, pleasurable propulsions, he works deep into your pussy.
“Lean on me.” Zayne speaks.
You do as he asks, appreciative of the reprieve allowed to let go and let Zayne guide you both into bliss. His fingers stroke about your entrance, a thumb he grazes against your clit, in an electrifying jolt of pleasure.
“Come now.” He instructs the man at your back. Soothing a hand down the curve of your spine when you feel Xavier’s arousal, firmed into solid stone once more, at your entrance. You moan at the prospect of what’s to come. Never having accepted any of your lovers into the same space, when Zayne is inside you.
“Breathe for me.” He asks of you. “Look at me.” And you do, in willing love; gaze finding his, coddled in the comfort of his verdant eyes — steady — even in the heated throes of your combined passion. “I am here for you.”
Just as the head of Xavier’s cock presses, insistent at the base of Zayne’s, your body beginning to give into him. Zayne hastens to curb his grunt of pleasure into your mouth, tongues moving against the other as Xavier steadily strokes a slow path into you.
Both your men settling whole and so incredibly full within your body, you sigh in shuddered stimulation when they navigate a rhythm in between your bodies, never leaving you empty for even a moment’s reprieve. A stretch so good, it stirs satisfaction deep into your stomach. The desire for them to leave you drenched up to your womb as you voice it on incoherent whispers, head rolling back onto Xavier’s shoulder.
Their hands; gripping about the shell of your hips, down upon the flare of your thighs. Across the pinching stimulation of your breasts, your throat. Xavier’s fingers brushing to feel the desperate thrumming of your carotid beneath his hold.
Sweeping an index across your damp lip, end to end, before he slips a finger into your mouth, toying at the pink of your tongue as it darts out for a taste.
The fever of your desire streaks higher, passion so incinerating, it only takes Zayne a thumbing caress across your clit before you are convulsing, violent about the two of them in a loud, sobbing cry. Wetness slicking down your thighs despite the way they plug you, their pacing climbing faster with each swift second of inundating pleasure your clenching walls force upon them, chasing a high they seek to release into your body alone.
And when they come with bated breaths and strangled groans, your combined essence overflows from in between your legs, staining the sheets wide and dark beneath.
It is only several breathless moments later that you are able to move, body wasted and draped upon your chosen seat — Zayne does not look as if he minds much, smoothing a kiss onto the sweat-slick stretch of your breastbone. “Happy anniversary, my reckless Hunter.” And then in slower, softer words. “I love you.”
You kiss your response against his mouth; a happy, languorous sound leaving your throat. Curving an arm tighter about Xavier nuzzled into the side of your waist, your gentle beast having settled into a short slumber, after having murmured of needing your warmth close by.
The doors to their bedroom slide open just then, to admit Sylus, carrying what looks to be an expensive bottle of wine and a set of glasses, nestled onto a salver perched across his arm. Rafayel, following close on heel, with a large tray on hand; the pleasant scent that wafts from the steam laced spice off the fresh spread of food, triggers your bout of hunger.
“Reckless brutes,” Sylus comments, an amused brow he raises upon witnessing the utter disarray of your wrecked states. A smile that skews only wider with the distasteful knit to Zayne’s brow.
As if he was one to speak, you would’ve snorted in defence, if you weren’t so drained.
Xavier, too, stirs beside you at the commotion just as the last two men of your heart move to join you upon the vast bed. “Get up and eat.” Sylus instructs, rapping his fist against Xavier’s prone form.
“You alright?” Rafayel questions, the moment he is seated at your side, reaching to entwine his fingers in between yours, a hoarse sound of approval you respond with, at his pleasant touch.
In between Zayne and Rafayel, they guide your body into an upright position.
Your head coasts sideways and onto Rafayel’s shoulder, in languid stupor, as he brings a spoon of hot broth to your lips. “Start with this, you’ll feel better once warmed from the inside.”
“Warm her, they did already… from the ‘inside’ that is,” Sylus’ licentious whisper reaches your ears from the side, setting your face to an incandescent glow at the recollection.
“Crude.” Rafayel reproaches — you do not, however, miss the scandalised red that seeps across his ears at his provocations.
You join in quiet laughter at Sylus’ words, burying your face deeper against Rafayel’s skin. A cosy arm he immediately brings about your shoulders to hold you close, as he continues to satiate your other, necessary hunger.
His scent soothes and settles deep into your lungs, gaze trekking, absent, to the stretch of skin exposed beneath his unbuttoned shirt, from where you smell his perfume strongest. A sudden, stray thought of wanting to lap a path up against him, assaults your mind, sore body responding in feeble protest.
A shadow falls upon you; Sylus’ thumb brushing, delicate, at the corner of your lips. “Eat well for now. Replenish your strength.” A kiss he nips onto your ear, you shiver at the muted stimulation.
“Sylus—”
“You’ll have your fill of us, as much as your heart desires, after.” He promises in decadent whispers.
Your men, proving true to his words; the rest of your long night spent in seeking love against each other’s skins and within their embrace.
Until they engrave proof of their existence — devotion and desire — scattered like scarlet jewels along the canvas of your body.
End Notes: This is my first foray into writing this kind of relationship for my favorite media and I enjoyed each excruciating second of agonizing over positions and 🍆s. Although I adore a hot poly romance just as much as the next person (cough Him&Him&Him), it certainly isn’t something I’ll personally be trying again any time soon LOL.
Likes, reblogs and comments are very much appreciated, if you are so inclined, and never fail to put a smile on my face.

summary: being jack wolff's nanny is a pretty sick gig, especially when your old friend is an f1 driver and is interested in you...
pairing: oscar piastri x fem! reader
part one part two part three
⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
23 with no romantic prospects probably should’ve made you feel worse about yourself than it actually did. Yes, you occasionally wondered what it would be like to have someone to love and cherish, but you knew it wasn’t exactly realistic. You were extremely busy, like, all the time. Being Jack Wolff’s live-in nanny was quite the chore, despite him being only one child. Don’t get me wrong, he was well-behaved and sweet, but he still had a packed schedule of going to F1 races every now and then. When he wasn’t spending his weekends in the Mercedes garage, he was busy spending them in his own garage. Jack was in the beginning stages of his karting career, and he was damn good at it too. He loved the rush of trying to go as fast as he possibly could through every corner, every chicane, every straight. When he took his helmet off after a race and ran straight to you, it was one of the best feelings in the world. You loved Jack like a little brother, he adored you like a second mother.
⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
“Why did we have to get up so early?” he yawned as you walked through the Harry Reid airport, just after landing in Las Vegas. Due to the fact that Jack was two public figures’ son, you two always got the craziest flight times to avoid crowds.
You smiled, picking him up and placing him on his suitcase so he could sit while you pushed him. “Because your mom and dad missed you,” you explain. “And they want to see you as soon as possible.”
“I could’ve waited a little longer,” he mumbled.
“Das ist nicht nett,” (that is not nice) you chuckled. “They miss you, and you haven’t exactly been very good at texting them back.”
“But we could’ve had a race this weekend,” he whined.
“We do, you’re just not racing in it,” you smirked as he rolled his eyes. All 7 year olds really were sassy.
“Do you want me to ask your dad if we can go to a track for a little bit of the weekend?” you offered after watching his sad face.
The frown on his lips instantly turned into a smile. “Yes please! You’re the best!”
The kid knew how to play you, you’d give him that.
⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
It was 7am when you finally got checked into the hotel, and it was finally time for Jack to go see his parents. As much as he pretended he didn’t, most nights than not he would sneak into your bed and ask you to call one of them, so much so that you’d just made a time where you called each of them so he could talk. He had been getting better at the whole ‘long distant parenting’ but it still hurt him sometimes. Sometimes, he just wanted his dad, but his dad was 3,500km away at a race where their car was a piece of shit.
You knocked on the door of their hotel room and it immediately opened to reveal a very excited Susie. “Jack!” she cheered, picking him up in his arms and hugging him tight as he giggled. Toto wrapped his arms around the both of them as they all reunited.
You 4 have breakfast together where you popped the question about going to a kart track at some point over the weekend and they begrudgingly agreed, upset that they’d miss out on precious ‘Jack time’, but understanding of his want for more track time all the same. You had agreed to join them in the garage for the morning though, since seeing everyone again was nice.
⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
“God, I’ve created a monster,” Toto joked as you both sat and watched Susie showing Jack around the garage.
You chuckled. Jack was obsessed with anything to do with cars. He loved his kart more than anything, and h e couldn’t wait to move up into single seaters. He also had a mechanical engineer as a nanny, which probably didn’t help all that much. “We’ve created a monster. I’m the one teaching him about tire temp and degradation,” you chuckled as Toto just put his head in his hands jokingly.
“How are you?” he turned to you. “Any news?”
“Nothing new, just Jack’s news, I guess,” you shrugged. To be honest, you loved your life. You loved nannying Jack, you loved living in Monaco, you loved being at a kart track every single weekend, but you knew that wasn’t the typical experience of every young adult.
Toto squinted his eyes. “How are your friends?”
“They’re good, we went over to London the other week to go see them, since Jack had a race there on the weekend,” you explained, knowing what Toto was trying to say. “Don’t worry about me, I’m taking care of myself just fine.”
He nodded. “We worry about you too,” he shrugged. “You’re like another daughter to us, we want you to be happy.”
You smiled. “I am.”
“And any boyfriends-?”
“Shut up!” you playfully hit him to stop the awkward conversation that would follow. “Enough Toto.”
“What?” He feigned innocence. “I can’t be interested in your dating life?”
“Nope,” you shook your head. “No you can’t.”
“Y/n!” Jack shouted as he ran over to you. “Can we go to the track now please?”
You looked to Toto, who nodded, then off you went to go grab Jack’s things and get into the car. When you pulled up to the track and got him stretched and warmed up, you watched as he circled the track while Toto and Susie went over strategies for the weekend in the cafe of the place. Toto had booked it out for Jack (mostly so he or you wouldn’t get papped, but also because that’s how Jack likes tracks when he’s practising), or so you thought. About 40 minutes into you being there, half of the McLaren garage showed up in papaya, apparently ready to race.
“Hey Toto,” Zak smiled. “Jack’s looking fast out there.”
“Hi Zak, what’re you doing here?”
“Racing,” he chuckled.
“We’re supposed to have it booked out for the day,” Toto argued.
You came in as the two men started getting heated (which didn’t take much) and pulled them away from each other as Susie went outside to keep an eye on Jack. “What’s the issue?”
“We have the track booked out, and they want to race,” Toto scoffed.
“We also have the track booked out,” Zak explained. “Also hi Y/n, nice to see you.”
“Nice to see you too,” you smiled at him. “So just let Jack go until they’re done getting ready, they do a session, Jack does a session, and so on. We need to get out of here at 3 anyway, and you and Susie are leaving earlier.”
They both pondered the deal, feeling rather stupid for not being able to compromise on their own.
“Sounds fair,” they both said at the same time, then they went back to their respective groups.
You went out to tell Jack, who agreed quickly, wanting to watch what the F1 drivers would do in a kart. You two watched at the sidelines as they went around the track, Jack literally taking notes beside you as you watched one kart only. Oscar Piastri.
Oscar and you had been friends in boarding school, and you’d always had this inkling he liked you, but he never acted on it before you left school, so nothing ever came of it. You had definitely liked him back though. He was so nice to you, so sweet, so funny. He was just… Oscar.
As Jack got back on track, Oscar came over to sit with you. “Hey,” He smiled.
“Hi,” you smiled back, scooching over so there would be more space for him. On track was Jack v Lando, and Jack was winning.
“How are you?” he asked.
“I’m good, thanks, you?”
“Great,” he smiled. “It’s really nice to see you again.”
“It’s really nice to see you again.”
“I thought I’d seen you around the paddock but then I realised how strange that sounded so I just chalked it up to my imagination, which is an even weirder thing but, yeah. It’s nice to know you’re not just a figment of my imagination,” he chuckled, awkward and shy, just how you remember him.
You laughed. “Yeah, not a figment of your imagination, just Jack’s nanny.”
“Cool,” he nodded. “He’s a good driver.”
“He’s very good,” you agreed. “Every weekend we’re at tracks, it’s madness.”
“Where are you living now?” he asked.
“Monaco,” you explained.
“Me too,” he smiled. “We should meet up sometime.”
“I’d like that,” you nodded, and you couldn’t help but feel the charged air between you two.
“I’d like that too.”
⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
Asking for a night off was a nightmare. Both Susie and Toto had their noses stuck into your business no matter what, so they begged and pleaded to be told why, but you somehow kept your kind-of-date-not-really-a-date under wraps until you got to the restaurant.
And it was nice. Oscar was just as sweet and funny as he was when you two first were friends. He even walked you back to the apartment, stopping before you went upstairs so as to not be seen by Toto or Susie.
“I really had fun tonight,” he smiled, the cold Monaco air making his cheek red.
“Me too,” you smiled. “It was really nice to catch up.”
He stepped closer, a nervous smile on his face. “Tonight was a date, right?”
“I-I’m- I don’t- I…” you trailed off, looking away from him as you both chuckled.
“I’d like it to be,” he admitted.
You nodded. “Me too.”
“So I can kiss you, right?” He smiled.
Your heart slightly stopped, you’d never been kissed before. How did you even do it? Would he think you’re awful? Would this end the entire relationship?
“I don’t have to, I’d just… I’d like to,” he smiled understandingly. “If you’re not ready for that then that’s alright.”
“I just… I’ve never been kissed,” you admitted, deeply embarrassed.
His jaw dropped. “You’ve never been kissed?” He asked despite himself. “Sorry, that sounded rude I-“
“It’s alright Oscar,” you shook your head. “I get what you mean.”
“No, I mean I’m just shocked, you’re so amazing and… yeah. It’s just surprising,” he chuckled. “I’m kind of honoured that I get to be the first.”
You chuckled. “Shut up.”
He chuckled. “Can I kiss you?”
You nodded, much too nervous to actually speak. He placed a hand on your cheek and leaned in, his lips softly meeting yours.
And it felt good. It felt really good to kiss him. His other hand circled your waist as you tentatively placed your hands on either side of his face. When he pulled back you felt your heart stop once again.
“You’re sure that was your first time?” He teased and you laughed.
“Pretty sure,” you chuckled.
“When can I see you again?” He asked, bashfully smiling.
“I’ll be at the next race, or here,” you explained. “So whenever it works for you.”
“What about-”
“OSCAR?! You picked Oscar?!” Toto shouted, making both of you jump apart. “Absolutely not! Y/n get up here!”
You sighed. “Text me about the date? Yeah?”
He nodded, laughing (trying to hide his terror of Toto) as he watched you go upstairs and start trying to explain to Toto.

Rintaro feels the eyes plastered onto him.
He feels every bat of their lashes, every movement of their glances at his sleeping face, his subconscious acknowledges it, and slightly goes into fight or flight. He whines as he forces his heavy eyes to open-
Only to gasp in fear as his subconscious was right: there’s two eyes watching him, unblinking as they stare intently at him, their gaze puppyish and innocent.
He groans, “Sachie, Sachiko, please.” He presses the heel of his hand against his eye to rub them awake, “we talked about this; you can’t scare mommy and daddy awake like this.”
“We sowwy,” Sachie whimpers.
“Just wan’ some wata,” Sachiko finishes. The twins always had a knack for that- being able to finish each others thoughts and sentences.
At any other time, rintaro would be incredibly enamored by it.
Right now, however? Not so much.
Rintaro chuckles softly at their cuteness before looking to the sky, as if to ask for patience. Next to him, you whimper at all the noise, hiking the blankets higher. Rintaro smiles. “Okay, angels,” he says softly, swinging his legs from under the warmth of his covers. “I’ll get you some water.”
“T’ank you,” Sachie murmurs. Sachiko nods at her sister’s appreciation. Rintaro ruffles their hair and gets up from his bed, hands scratching his stomach as he bonelessly shambles to the kitchen. He grabs the cabinet door and opens it to retrieve two cups with lids, making sure they’re clean by sniffing them. He shrugs and makes a move to the fridge, pressing the cups against the water dispenser to fill them enough for the girls to get through the night.
He yawns as he fills the other, eyes growing heavier and heavier the longer he’s vertical, as if the sandman himself is throwing pebbles into his eyes.
He wastes no time in capping off the two cups and making his way back down the hallway to his little girls room, cocking a brow when their two tiny beds are empty.
He spins on his heel to make his way to his bedroom, and god, he’d be so mad if it wasn’t so cute.
Sachie and Sachiko, his precious terror twins, are curled up next to you in his spot, Sachie sucking on her thumb while Sachiko clings to your night shirt. The must’ve tugged you onto your side, because instead of your original position facing away from them, you’re curled against them, one of your arms strewn across them to cuddle them close. You’re drooling softly, and Rintaro can’t fathom the precious sight.
He yawns and plants the small cups on his nightstand before curling up behind Sachiko, trying to get comfortable in the all too small sliver of bed he can just barely fit on. His arm drapes over them both too, burying his face in Sachiko’s soft hair and trying his best to drift back asleep, despite the already deep cramping forming in his back for the uncomfortable position.
Not that he’d dare move them. Nor have it any other way.

AHHHHH MY PRECIOUS BABY CHIMCHIM (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
What are you getting yourself INTO, you financial genius disaster? Every time I write Jimin scenes I'm just sitting here like "no baby no don't do it" while simultaneously typing out exactly what he's doing. I'm his god yet I have no control. The duality of being an author.
ANYWAY, let me know your thoughts about Y/N and Jeon's little "arrangement". ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Also... the way this man goes from cheeky little shit to MAN OF STEEL in 0.2 seconds is honestly doing things to me. Like the DUALITY?? One minute he's all sarcasm and eyerolls and the next he's all commanding presence and intense stares. Please show me all your facets while I mil—
ANYWAY! 🥰
Hope you enjoy this chapter, you magnificent disaster magnets! I see you all in the comments thirsting over fictional gang members and I just want you to know I'm judging you... from my very similar position of also thirsting over fictional gang members. It's a hard life, but someone's gotta live it.

Training room it is today. Takama is probably waiting for you.
You step inside immediately and—fuck. The air's different. Not the usual sweaty, stale gym smell, but something...else. It's like walking into a storm front, all electric and tingly on your skin.
Weird.
You stop, blinking. Your brain's trying to process what your body already knows: something's off.
Shaking it off, you scan the room for Takama. He's usually here by now, ready to nag you about your form or whatever. But nope. Instead, your eyes land on—
Oh.
Jeon.
Shit.
Your whole body goes rigid. This is not what you signed up for today. Takama's stern but predictable. Jeon? He's a walking thunderbolt.
He hasn't clocked you yet. He's too busy with his hand-wrapping ritual, black tape winding around those knuckles like he's prepping for war. I̶t̶,̶s̶ ̶w̶e̶i̶r̶d̶l̶y̶ ̶m̶e̶s̶m̶e̶r̶i̶z̶i̶n̶g̶.̶You've tried it yourself, but you always end up looking like you got in a fight with a roll of duct tape and lost.
The door clicks shut behind you. Loud. Way too fucking loud.
Jeon's head snaps up, eyes locking onto yours. Fuck. It's like being caught in a headlight beam, but instead of deer-in-headlights frozen, you're fight-or-flight wired. His gaze is pure Kkangpae—hard, sharp, seeing right through your bullshit.
"Thought you could sneak up on me?"
You try for casual, miss by a mile. "Takama's usually not this quiet."
Jeon's mouth twitches. Not quite a smile. More like you just told a joke only he got.
Great start. This is gonna be fun.
"Takama had to handle some business. Guess you're stuck with me. It'll be good in preparation to our upcoming mission."
IIt's not a question, it's a fucking statement. And you know better than to argue with that tone.
Right. The mission.
Shit.
It all comes flooding back now. That goddamn mission assigned to you and Jeon back on the camping trip. The one where you both have to infiltrate MDF—Kkangpae's number one rival. Talk about high stakes.
You know how crucial this is. You know you need to concentrate now—more than ever.
But fuck.
Your eyes betray you, sweeping over Jeon's training attire.
It's insulting, is what it is.
That simple tank top might as well be painted on, doing jack shit to hide the sculpted landscape of his muscles. And those grey sweatpants? They're hanging so low on his hips it should be illegal.
(If you tried hard enough—which you're not, obviously—you're pretty sure you could see that happy trail you remember from that night in the tent.)
The fabric clings to him like it's got a personal vendetta against your sanity, obeying gravity with a lazy kind of insolence. And that silver neck chain? It's playing peekaboo from under his top, daring your eyes to follow its path. A metallic tease against skin you shouldn't be thinking about.
You shake your head, trying to clear the fog of distraction.
Focus. Mission. Training.
Not Jeon's body.
You make your way to the corner where bandages and tape are strewn across a metal shelf. The mess speaks volumes—countless sessions of wrapping, unwrapping, preparing for fights both won and lost.
Grabbing a roll of black tape, you try to mimic what you've seen Jeon do a hundred times before. But your fingers feel clumsy, uncooperative. The tape sticks to itself, to your skin, everywhere but where it's supposed to go. You end up with more gaps than protection, the wrap loose in all the wrong places.
And Jeon? He's watching you. You can feel his eyes on you, sharp and intense. His face is unreadable, a perfect mask. But you'd bet your last dollar he's judging every fumbled attempt, every misplaced piece of tape.
Then he scoffs, the sound cutting through the air like a whip crack. Before you can react, he's moving towards you—footsteps echoing in the quiet room, each one making your heart beat a little faster.
And then he's there, right in your space.
The heat rolling off his body makes you acutely aware of how cool the air is around you.
He leans in close—too close—to inspect your sad attempt at hand-wrapping.
"Let me," he growls.
You don't even try to argue. What's the point? Jeon's already unraveling your sad attempt at hand-wrapping like it's the world's shittiest birthday present.
His fingers brush against your skin and for a second it's like someone just plugged you into a live wire.
He starts rewrapping your hands, and you're caught in this weird... limbo.
Because his touch is firm, almost stern, but there's this... gentleness to it that makes no sense coming from him.
It's a mindfuck, really.
This is Jeon. Cold, distant, get-the-fuck-away-from-me Jeon.
But here he is, handling your hands like they're made of glass.
Your heart's going a mile a minute, and you're praying to whatever gang deity is out there that he can't hear it. His hands are everywhere, wrapping the tape around your wrists with a precision that's almost artistic. It's like he's crafting this black armor just for you, and every pass of the tape feels more intimate than the last.
And why the fuck does he have to smell this good? It's unfair, really.
Every now and then, his eyes flick up to meet yours, and it's... like looking into the sun peeking between the clouds.
Like something is hovering—something molten and wild that reminds you of tents and nighttime.
"Tight enough?"
You manage a nod, amazed that your brain can still form coherent thoughts.
"Perfect," you say, definitely not thinking of the innuendo.
The corner of his mouth twitches, and for a heart-stopping second, you think he's read your mind. You don't like that knowing look in his eyes.
"There," he says, giving the tape one last tug. It pulls you closer, just a fraction, but it might as well be a mile. "You're ready."
Ready for what? you want to ask. Ready for training? Ready for the mission? Ready for whatever the hell this tension between you is building towards?
But you don't say any of that. You can't. Because this is Jeon, and you're you, and there are a million reasons why this—whatever this is—can't happen.
Even if it already happened once. Even if he's there, looking like a five course meal.
So you just stand there, hands wrapped perfectly, heart racing, caught in the gravity of Jeon's presence and wondering how the fuck you're supposed to focus on training now.
"Let's get started."
It hits you like a sledgehammer to the chest—everywhere at once—this massive storm system rolling in, all dark clouds and electricity. The kind that makes your skin prickle and your hair stand on end. The training room suddenly feels too small to contain it.
Contain him.
You move to the center of the mats, too aware of every step and where your feet are landing. He's still watching you—you can feel those eyes tracking your movements like a sniper's scope.
You try to copy his stance, but it's like your body's forgotten how joints work.
Everything feels awkward.
"How are you with your blocks?"
"I can handle it," you say, going for confident but landing somewhere around defensive.
He laughs. It's not a nice sound. More like broken glass wrapped in velvet.
"We'll see about that."
Because fuck. Training with Takama was... different. Predictable. Safe, even. You knew what to expect—his patient corrections, his methodical approach.
But this?
This is like jumping into the deep end of a pool filled with sharks.
And Jeon?
He's the great white circling you.
Everything feels suffocating, like there's not enough oxygen in the room for both of you. It's hard to breathe, his presence pressing in from all sides like you're caught in a fucking typhoon. You can practically taste the ozone.
Jeon circles you lazily and honestly? It's terrifying how someone so big can move so quietly. His control is infuriating—while you're here trying not to vibrate out of your skin, he looks like he could be ordering coffee.
"You're tense."
No shit, Sherlock.
The observation hits a nerve. Maybe because it's true, maybe because you hate how easily he can read you. You try to relax your shoulders, aiming for that casual 'oh-this-is-totally-fine' vibe.
Then his hand hovers over your lower back.
You flinch. You can't help it. He's not even touching you, but you can feel the heat radiating from his palm, just a breath away from contact. He's telling you to fix your posture without a single word, and your body responds before your brain can tell it not to.
Your abdomen tightens in defiance, like some part of you is still telling him to fuck off. But you straighten up anyway, because what else can you do? Not like Mr. Perfectionist here will take anything other than perfection.
Jeon steps back, and you try to remember how breathing works. Focus. This is training, not whatever the fuck that hand-wrapping thing was. You need to get your head in the game before he notices how rattled you are.
You watch him demonstrate a block.
It's unfair, really, how he makes it look so effortless—like he's been doing this since birth. (Maybe he has—he definitely looks like he fights nurses, if his attitude with J-Hope is any indication).
His forearm cuts through the air in this fluid motion that's somehow both defensive and threatening at the same time.
"Now you," he says, and oh there it is. That hint of smugness in his voice that makes you want to either punch him or—
Absolutely not. You are not going there.
He knows though. You can tell by the way his mouth quirks up slightly at the corner. He knows exactly what he's doing, the bastard. Knows he's got you at a disadvantage with his years of experience. But there's something else there too, in the way he's watching you. Like he's getting some sort of kick out of whatever this is.
You mirror his movement, slicing your arm through the air; and it feels good—solid. Like maybe you're not completely hopeless at this.
He gives you this tiny nod, and for a split second, there's something that looks almost like approval in his eyes.
But it's gone before you can really process it, replaced by that laser-focused look he apparently gets when he's in full instructor mode (like right now).
"Again," he orders, and you comply.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Each time, the movement feels more natural, less like you're just flailing your arm around and more like you might actually be able to stop someone from punching you in the face.
And all the while, he watches like a fucking hawk. Cataloging every single one of your mistakes, every moment of hesitation.
It's intense, being under that kind of scrutiny. Makes your skin prickle.
Then he moves—just this slight shift of weight—and suddenly he's closer.
His foot nudges yours, and you get the message without him having to say a word.
Your stance is off.
You adjust quickly, shifting your feet until you feel more grounded.
"Like this," he says, and it's low and gravely.
His voice shouldn't affect you. It's just two words.
It does.
You force yourself to focus on the technical stuff. The way his feet are positioned, how his knees are slightly bent like he's ready to move at any second. And then you copy his stance, feeling the stretch in your calves as you adjust.
In through the nose, out through the mouth. Count it out in your head.
One, two, three, four.
Anything to keep your mind off the way he's circling you again.
Because that's what he's doing now—moving around you like some fucking lion sizing up a calf.
His presence is like gravity, pulling at something deep in your chest.
It's distracting as hell.
But you're determined not to let it show.
You've got something to prove here, after all. Even if you're not quite sure what that is anymore.
"Not like that", he says and...
His hand's moving again, and your brain halts all its processes when his fingertips brush your shoulder.
It's supposed to be professional. Just another training correction.
But your body didn't get that memo, because every nerve ending lights up like it's a fucking carnival.
His hand starts this slow slide down your arm, and you're pretty sure this isn't standard training procedure. Your arm quickly gets covered in goosebumps, betraying exactly how not professional this feels.
When his fingers wrap around your elbow, you almost forget how to breathe. His grip is firm—s̶e̶x̶y̶ steady—and you can feel the calluses on his fingertips from years of handling weapons.
"Your alignment," he says, and shit... His voice has dropped into that same low register he pulled back in the tent. "It's crucial. When you block, you need to be solid, unyielding. Like this."
You feel the strength in his grip all the way up your arm. The way he's holding your elbow, it feels like he's trying to rewire your muscle memory through touch alone. It's invasive in the best-worst way possible, like he's leaving his fingerprints on your bones.
You should be focusing on the block he's teaching you. That's what a good student would do.
But instead, all you can think about is how his palm is practically burning against your skin, how strong his fingers feel, and how every "correction" feels more like a caress.
When he finally lets go and steps back, it's like someone just yanked away your favorite blanket. The air feels too cold where his hand was, and you have to fight the urge to chase that warmth.
"Now, let's see you put it into action," he says.
Get it together, you tell yourself.
This is training. Just training. Nothing else.
(You don't even believe your own lies anymore.)
You try to focus on breathing. In, out. Simple stuff. But it's not working, because every time Jeon adjusts your stance, every careful correction he makes, it's like striking matches against your skin.
At this point, your brain can't string two thoughts together.
Not with Jeon there, touch somehow both grounding and displacing.
Then he's back in your space.
And his hands are suddenly on your hips.
The touch is professional—or it's trying to be—but his fingers spread wide, pressing into you through your training gear like he's trying to leave prints. Like he's trying to remind you of that other time those hands have been there.
He stares at where his hands rest for way too long to be just about fixing your stance.
The air gets thick. Sticky.
You can feel every slight adjustment of his fingers, how his palms mold against your hips like they're meant to be there.
When he looks up, it knocks the breath right out of you. His eyes are dark, searching your face for... something. You're both breathing the same air now, and fuck, you remember this kind of proximity. Remember what it leads to.
Then his tongue flicks out, wetting his lip ring, and your brain just—stops. It's absent-minded, probably, but Christ. The metal catches the light, and suddenly you're back in that tent, remembering exactly what that piercing feels like against your—
Focus, bitch.
His hands haven't moved from your hips. Haven't even twitched. Like he's forgotten they're there, or maybe like he can't bring himself to move them.
He's not apologizing for it either, though.
Not that you want him to.
"What about now?" Your voice comes out embarrassingly breathless.
"Yeah," he says, and oh. His voice has gone all rough around the edges. "This is good. Real good."
The way he says it—like he's not just talking about your stance—makes heat pool low in your stomach. You know that tone. You've heard it before, whispered against your skin in the dark.
Professional, you remind yourself. This is supposed to be professional.
(It's really, really not.)
His thumbs start moving against your hips—tiny, barely-there circles that are definitely not about fixing your stance anymore. The touch is light through the fabric, but it might as well be branded into your skin.
Then he clears his throat, the sound sharp and sudden. Just like that, he's stepping back, putting distance between you.
Your skin feels weirdly empty where his hands were.
You watch him slip back into Chief mode. It's fascinating, really, how he does it. Like watching someone put on armor piece by piece. His face goes blank, eyes cooling until they're giving nothing away. Pure business. This is the Jeon that everyone else sees—the Chief of Tactical Assassinations, not the guy who just had his hands on your hips like he owned them.
Training kicks back in.
The tension does not dissipate.
He spars, but this time it's like... Like he's built this invisible wall between being your instructor and being... whatever else he is to you. And he's trying real hard not to cross it.
You match his energy, throwing yourself into it. You're here to be instructed, after all.
Then he pulls this move—his feet moving so fast they blur. You think he's going left, but nope. It's a trap, and you fall for it like an idiot. You stumble, losing your balance, and—
Oh.
Oh.
His arm catches you around the waist, hard and sure.
The contact hits different this time—no pretense of training, just pure instinct.
This isn't your instructor catching a student.
This is just Jeon catching you.
His grip is steel, anchoring you against him. You can feel everything—the hard planes of his chest, the rapid rise and fall of his breathing, the way his bicep flexes against your back. His thigh is pressed against yours, and you try very hard not to think about that.
You can feel his heart hammering where you're pressed together, matching yours beat for frantic beat. His hand spans your waist like he owns it.
You turn your head, just a little, just enough to see— Jesus.
His eyes are dark, wild. Like he's fighting a war with himself and losing badly. Pupils are blown wide, fixed on you.
You've seen that look before, in a tent, in the dark.
When he swallows, you can't help but track the movement. His throat works, pulse visible under the skin.
It's weirdly vulnerable, seeing that flutter of pulse on someone who's usually all hard edges and control.
The silence in the room feels heavy. All you can hear is breathing—yours, his, both of you trying to pretend this is still just training.
His grip on your waist tightens, just a fraction, and your body betrays you. You lean back into him, seeking that solid warmth. Because apparently, your survival instincts have left the chat.
His other hand hovers near your stomach, not quite touching. It's weirdly protective, like he wants to shield you from something.
From what?
From himself, maybe.
The hand trembles slightly. Jeon is trembling.
That hits different, knowing someone so controlled is fighting for composure. It has you almost whining, the distance between his palm and your body.
Focus. Breathe.
But how are you supposed to focus when he's right there?
Because hell, this is Jeon—Chief of Tactical Assassinations, walking danger sign, and somehow the person you want most.
Your eyes drift to his lips because you're a m̶a̶s̶o̶c̶h̶i̶s̶t̶ glutton for punishment. They're right there, and that lip ring is practically taunting you. You remember exactly how that metal feels, how it tastes. Your throat works as you swallow, mouth parting on its own, like your body's sending out an open invitation.
At that, his eyes immediately drop to your lips. Just a flicker, almost nonexistent, but you saw it. The look in his eyes—fuck.
You've seen hungry before, but this?
This is starving.
You tilt your head up, slow, careful, like you're approaching a wild animal. Your heart's trying to break out of your chest, and breathing? That's for people who aren't about to kiss their superior officer.
You lean in, slow. So fucking slow. Like if you move too fast, he'll spook and bolt.
His breath catches. The sound is soft, intimate, does stupid things to your core. You brush your lips against his, just barely, just enough to test, tease.
For a moment, he's completely still. Like he's processing, like he can't believe this is happening.
Then—holy fuckity hell.
He kisses you like he's dying for it, like he's been holding back forever and can't anymore. His lips are insistent, demanding, coaxing yours apart. There's something desperate in the way he angles his head, deepening the kiss, claiming your mouth like he owns it.
Your hands move without permission—one in his hair, one gripping his shoulder. The contrasts under your fingers ground you: soft strands, hard muscle. He tastes like mint and something darker, something that makes you want to crawl inside him and stay there.
It isn't some sweet, gentle thing.
It's a continuation of your sparring match, just with different rules.
He softens for a moment, less demanding, more inviting, and you lean into it, chasing his taste.
Finally, finally, his hovering hand makes contact. It spreads across your stomach, possessive, anchoring you against him like he thinks you might try to escape.
As if you could.
As if you'd want to.
Your fingers find his jaw, smooth skin under your touch.
When he pulls back, it's like it physically pains him. He gasps, the sound cutting through the heavy air. His eyes are wild, unfocused, like he's just come up for air after nearly drowning. There's a storm brewing in those dark depths, and you're caught right in the middle of it.
"I thought that was a spur of the moment kinda thing?"
His voice drops low, and you know exactly what he's talking about. That night in his tent during the camping trip, when things got real heated real quick.
You raise an eyebrow, channeling every ounce of b̶a̶d̶ confident bitch energy you can muster.
"I don't see why it has to be. I find you hot, you find me hot."
"Making assumptions now, are we?"
The playful edge in his voice does things to you. He's toying with you, and the worst part? You're kind of into it.
"Actions speak louder than words, Jeon." You lean into your sass because fuck it, why not? "And considering I had you cumming all over me a couple of days ago, I'd say you don't find me aesthetically unpleasant."
His lip curls into that fucking smirk—you know the one. It's rare and deadly and makes your stomach do this weird flippy thing.
"Oh?"
It's just one syllable, but Jesus Christ. The way he says it—all low and gravelly—makes your lungs seize.
"Going there, huh?" He tilts his head, and you can practically see the cockiness radiating off him. "Then I guess we can say the same about you."
You can't help the scoff that escapes.
It's either laugh or combust, honestly.
"I already said I find you hot. Craving compliments that much?"
"Just wanna hear it again." His smile widens, and fuck, it's not fair how good he looks when he's being an asshole. "Strokes my ego."
You swallow hard, trying to get your shit together. Because this? This is a whole new side of Jeon you're seeing. One minute he's Mr. Ice King, all cold and untouchable, and the next he's... this.
This s̶e̶x̶y̶ infuriating bastard who knows exactly what he's doing to you.
And the worst part? He's really good at it.
(Your underwear situation is becoming a serious problem, but you'll die before admitting that to him.)
"I think you're hot," you whisper, because fuck it—might as well lay all your cards on the table.
"I know."
The sheer audacity—
He says it with this cocky certainty that should be annoying but somehow isn't. Like he's stating that water is wet or the sky is blue.
You press on, because apparently your brain-to-mouth filter decided to take the day off. "So it doesn't have to be a one-time thing."
"Really."
It's not even a question. He's amused, the bastard. His chuckle hits different—low and rich and doing things to your insides that you'd rather not analyze right now.
"Just..." You try for casual, miss by a mile. "Think of it as a way of improving synergy between gang members."
The moment it leaves your mouth, you want to cringe.
Synergy? Really? But you see the way his lips twitch, and yeah, okay, maybe it wasn't your worst line.
"Hmm? I'll make sure to send Moon the briefing for approval."
"Make sure to give me credit then."
"Will do."
"So indulgent," you tease, because apparently you have a death wish.
He raises an eyebrow, and oh. Something shifts in his expression—something dark and promising that makes your stomach flip. He does this thing with his tongue, running it along the inside of his cheek like he's considering all the ways he could r̶u̶i̶n̶ wreck you.
"You know how indulgent I can be, sunshine."
Fuck.
That nickname. The way he says it—soft but loaded with intent.
It's not fair how he can take two simple words and turn them into something that feels like a caress and a threat wrapped in one.
Your heart's going absolutely feral in your chest. You're pretty sure he can feel it, which is just... great. Really great.
You swallow hard, trying to remember how words work.
"Don't you think..." You pause, trying to find the right words without sounding too desperate. "...that as gang members, we need to... release some tension from time to time? For the sake of the gang."
His mouth twitches. You want to punch him.
"For the sake of the gang," he echoes.
"Mhm." You feel a little rush of pride at having his complete attention. It's not easy to get Jeon to focus on anything that isn't mission-related. "And, you know... Fucking just seems like the healthier option."
The silence that follows should be awkward. It should be, but it's not. It's charged.
You wait for him to shut you down, maybe throw some sarcastic comment your way.
Instead, his fingers dig deeper into your skin, and fuck, that shouldn't feel as good as it does.
"Mhm. You're persuasive." His voice drops into this low purr that makes your insides twist. "Are those your seduction skills in show?"
"Maybe." You tilt your head, feeling bold. "Is it working?"
"I don't know..." There's something dark and promising in his eyes. "Considering I have you all over me right now, who's seducing who?"
Your eyes drop for just a second because—oh. That's... definitely something pressing against your thigh. Something very familiar from that night in the tent.
"I guess it depends on whether you want to include your boner in that analysis," you say, meeting his gaze.
He laughs, the sound rumbling through his chest and against your palm.
"Fair. But only if we include those 'fuck me' eyes you're giving me."
The crude language coming from him is... something else. Instead of making you blush and back down, it makes you want to push harder.
"What can I say, Jeon? Lust is a human emotion."
"It is." His tongue swipes over his lip ring, and Christ. "And you have a lot of it."
"Funny you say that when you're also looking at me like you're undressing me with your eyes."
"I never said I didn't."
The way he says it, all casual with that hint of a smirk—it's doing things to you. Things you probably shouldn't be feeling in the training room, but here you are anyway.
Professional training session your ass.
Your hand moves before your brain can catch up, fingers skimming over his chest. You look up through your lashes, meeting his gaze.
"Good then. I guess it's settled."
"What is?"
"You. Me. Fucking."
Real smooth. Way to be subtle about it.
"And how do you wanna go about it, exactly?"
The way he says it—like he's trying not to laugh—makes your face heat up.
You pause. Wait. Shit.
You hadn't actually thought this far ahead. The logistics of it seemed... well, obvious until now. People just fuck, right? That's how it works? But now that he's asking, you're drawing a complete blank.
"How... What?"
Real articulate. Nailed it. You're doing amazing sweetie.
He actually laughs at that, the sound rumbling through his chest and straight into yours because you're still pressed together like some kind of human sandwich.
Then he's moving, helping you get your feet back under you so you're face-to-face.
His hands stay on you though, like he can't quite bring himself to let go.
"I mean, I'm game for it being a way to blow off steam." His thumb starts that little circle thing on your hip again, and fuck, that's distracting. "And as you said, we're not breaking any rules if there's no strings attached..."
You blink. Slowly. Because is this actually happening? Is Jeon—Mr. Ice King himself—actually considering your half-baked proposition?
"However, we should probably set some ground rules. Any limitations? Is there anything off the table?"
"Well, we can see when... time comes."
"And when do times come, sunshine?"
That fucking nickname again. The playful edge in his voice isn't helping your brain function any better.
"We can just tell each other, no?" You say it without thinking, which seems to be your brand today.
"What, do you really want to say you want to fuck in front of everyone—"
"God, Jeon, no—" You cut him off because Jesus Christ. The thought alone makes you want to crawl into a hole and die. "But we can say something like... we need to ease off some tension."
"So 'ease off some tension'? Is that our code?"
Amusement twinkles in his eyes, and you kind of want to punch him.
Maybe.
Not really.
"Yeah. Yes." Eloquent.
"Okay then."
"Okay."
And just like that, you've somehow negotiated the most professional friends-with-benefits arrangement in the history of gang life. With your Chief. In the training room.
What could possibly go wrong?
"What about halting?" His eyes lock with yours. "Need a safe word?"
You glance around the training room, brain scrambling for ideas. Your gaze drops to your hands, still fisted in his tank top. Oh.
"Black tape," you say. It feels right, given the context. Then, because your mouth apparently has a mind of its own: "And maybe... white tape? Like, for when things are good to go?"
The corner of his mouth twitches. "Black tape stops everything, white tape means keep going?"
"Yeah." You nod, feeling weirdly professional about this whole thing. Like you're negotiating a business deal instead of arranging hook-ups with your Chief. "Black for stop, white for go."
"Alright." His voice drops lower, settling somewhere in your chest. "Once either of us says 'black tape', everything stops. Immediately."
"Okay."
"Okay."
The word's barely settled in the air between you when something possesses you to just—
"I wanna ease off some tension."
Real smooth. Way to be patient, dumbass. (Have you seen him though? Like...)
But the way Jeon's eyes darken? Maybe being smooth is overrated.
His eyes snap to yours—look pure animal—irises swallowed whole.
Jeon's fingers stop their little dance on your hip, like he's taking a moment to process what you just said.
Everything goes quiet, the kind of quiet that makes you hyper-aware of every little sound—birds chirping outside, people talking somewhere down the hall, completely clueless about what's happening in here.
"Yeah?"
It comes out as this low rumble that you can practically feel in your bones.
Then he's moving closer, crowding into your space until there's barely room to breathe.
Not that you're doing much breathing anyway, because the way he's looking at you right has knocked the air out of your lungs long ago.
You manage a nod because words? What are words? Your brain's pretty much short-circuited at this point.
His smirk turns wicked—the kind that promises trouble—and then his fingers are sliding under your clothes, and oh.
Oh, okay.
You can feel him pressed against your inner thigh, hot and hard and very, very interested in where this is going. He notices you notice, (of course he does) and he sways his hips slightly like he's testing the waters.
A sound escapes you—something between a whimper and a gasp—as you arch back, exposing your throat. Like your body's offering itself up to him before your brain can catch up.
(And what the fuck are you, a cat in heat?)
You're both still technically fully clothed in a training room where anyone could walk in, but honestly, it feels more obscene than being naked.
Maybe it's the forbidden aspect, or maybe it's just him, but it's like everything is on fire.
(Somewhere in the back of your mind, a little voice is reminding you that this is probably not what RM had in mind when he approved combat training. You tell that voice to shut the fuck up.)
He doesn't just dive in—no, because Jeon's the type to take his sweet fucking time. His mouth traces your jaw with these slow, deliberate kisses that make you want to tug at his hair. Each one edges closer to your neck, and hell, the anticipation is killing you.
When his teeth find that spot where your neck meets your shoulder, you nearly lose it. He bites down—not hard enough to mark, but the sensation shoots straight through you, and this embarrassing sound escapes your throat before you can stop it.
"No... marks," you manage to get out, even though your brain's pretty much offline at this point.
He laughs against your skin, and the vibration does things to you. You can feel his smile—that smug, knowing one that makes you want to strangle him with his own hair or something.
"Okay."
You both know why there can't be marks—can't have evidence of whatever this is showing up in training tomorrow.
His breath fans hot over the spot he just bit, and you're pretty sure you're going to die if he doesn't do something soon.
Then his hands start moving, and okay, maybe dying wouldn't be so bad. He maps your body like he's trying to memorize every curve, every dip. His thumbs sweep over your clothes, and even through the fabric, his touch burns.
When he gets to your ass though? Different story.
He grabs two handfuls like he's been waiting to do this all day, and the sound that comes out of your mouth is straight-up pornographic. You should probably be embarrassed, but you're way past caring at this point.
He squeezes like ike he's finally getting his hands on something he's been thinking about for way too long.
"God..." He says—voice wrecked, all rough and deep. "You've got one hell of an ass."
You laugh against his mouth.
"All this training must show results."
"Fuck if it shows."
That compliment—delivered in his sex-roughened voice—does weird things to your stomach. You press back into his hands because you're only human, and the way he responds tells you all you need to know—fingers dig in harder, and yeah, okay, this is definitely happening.
You claw at him in retaliation like some kind of feral animal, nails dragging down his back through his tank.
You can't think straight—can't think at all, really.
Your brain's on fire, fuzzy with want. If this is what losing your mind feels like, you're kind of okay with it. Actually, more than okay. You're drowning in him, in the heat of his hands, in the way he's marking you up without leaving marks, and—
Clink.
The sound of the door handle cuts through your lust-haze like a bucket of ice water. Pure instinct takes over, and you shove Jeon away from you with enough force to send him sprawling onto the training room floor. The sound of his body hitting concrete is probably the least sexy thing you've ever heard.
When you look at him, his eyes are wide with shock that quickly turns into this mix of annoyance and—wait, is he amused? There's this little twitch at the corner of his mouth that says he kind of wants to laugh, even though you just threw him on his ass. But there's also a storm brewing in his eyes because Jeon? He doesn't do pretend losses.
Especially not to you, in what's supposed to be a basic training session.
Then Takama walks in, all decked out in Kkangpae black, and raises an eyebrow at the scene in front of him.
You must look like a mess—hair probably everywhere, breathing like you just ran a marathon, standing over Jeon who's sprawled on the floor.
"Thought you two would be done by now," he says, confusion lacing his tone.
"Training got a bit... intense," you manage to say, trying to sound casual while your heart's still doing its best to break your ribs.
Your voice, however, comes out steadier than you expected, considering you were about two seconds away from letting Jeon rail you against the training room wall.
The irony of using "intense" to describe what was definitely not training isn't lost on you. But hey, at least you're not lying.
Technically.
Takama lets out this low chuckle, and you can feel his eyes darting between you and Jeon, who's still sprawled on the training room floor like some Renaissance painting gone wrong.
"Gotta say, I'm surprised to see Jeon flat on his back. Never thought I'd see the day."
There's this note of respect in his voice. Because yeah, you just put the Chief of Tactical Assassinations on his ass. Even if it was totally not what it looked like.
Jeon's still looking at you as he gets up, fluidly and graceful despite having just been thrown to the ground.
He brushes off his clothes, but his eyes?
They haven't left yours for a second.
It's like he's trying to tell you something without words, and you're getting the message loud and clear.
"She's a quick learner."
You both know exactly what kind of "learning" he's talking about, and it has nothing to do with combat training.
Takama, bless his oblivious soul, just strolls to the center of the mats like he's not walking into the world's most sexually charged training session.
The sound of him cracking his knuckles cuts through the air then.
"So, ready for another round?"
He has no idea about the conversation happening without words. No clue about the way Jeon's still looking at you like he's thinking about all the different ways he could pin you down—and none of them involve training.
"Always," Jeon says.
His voice is pure sin, wrapped up in that one word like a promise. Like a threat. Like everything you want but shouldn't.
"Bring it on," you manage to say, and you're pretty proud that your voice comes out steady.
Because this? This is definitely not just about training anymore.
Not even close.

You drag yourself into the cafeteria with Yunjin, who's been talking your ear off since you left training. She's going on about something—probably important, if you'd actually been listening—but your brain's too busy playing "Where's Waldo" with the dinner crowd.
Not that you're looking for anyone s̶p̶e̶c̶i̶f̶i̶c̶ important.
(That's a lie. You totally are.)
Your eyes keep scanning the room like some kind of desperate radar system, and you want to smack yourself.
Since when did you turn into one of those people who can't walk into a room without checking if he's there?
Jeon's not the center of the universe.
He's not even the center of this cafeteria.
But try telling that to your traitor eyes that won't stop searching.
You follow Yunjin to the buffet line, nodding along to her chatter about work stuff and gang politics. The food looks good tonight—all steam and color and promise of actual flavor. You're reaching for the rice when—
Oh.
There he is.
Jeon's standing a few people ahead, his back to you like he doesn't even know you exist. Which is bullshit, by the way. You know he knows you're here. But he's pulling this whole 'I'm too cool to acknowledge your existence' act, and honestly? It's working for him.
You can't help staring at his plate because of course it looks like that. All protein and greens, like a sad jail meal. No carbs in sight because god forbid the Chief of Tactical Assassinations eat a fucking potato. It's like looking at a fitness influencer's meal prep, except this one could probably kill you with his chopsticks.
He drives you insane. How does he do this? How does he go from being that smug bastard in the training room—all heated looks and smart mouth—to... this? This walking ice sculpture who portions his vegetables like they might try to escape?
You're still watching him stack his protein like he's playing food Tetris when Yunjin's elbow catches your ribs.
"Hey, you okay? You've been zoning out a lot today."
Great. Now you're so obvious even Yunjin's noticed.
But how are you supposed to explain that you can't stop staring at the way Jeon handles his chopsticks because it reminds you of how those same hands felt on your—
Nope. Not going there. Not in the cafeteria, not while you're holding rice tongs, and definitely not with Yunjin right there giving you that knowing look.
You flash Yunjin what you hope is a convincing smile. "Just tired. Been a long day of pretending I actually know what I'm doing."
You both grab your plates and—okay, maybe you glance in Jeon's direction one more time. Just a quick look. For science.
The way his jaw moves when he chews shouldn't be this interesting, but here you are anyway, feeling heat pool in your stomach because apparently now everything that he does is just hot.
Get it together.
You scan the cafeteria for a free spot and spot Kazuha sitting alone. She's got this serene energy about her that makes you feel instantly calmer. It's kind of ridiculous how put-together she always looks, even after a full day of work.
"Hey, Zuzu!" Yunjin chirps, already bouncing over. "Got room for two more?"
Kazuha looks up from her food, and her smile is soft, genuine. Like she's actually happy to see you both.
"Of course. How was training?"
You plop down next to her, already digging into your food because you're starving. "Bold of you to assume I survived. Pretty sure my muscles are plotting revenge."
"That bad?" Kazuha asks, and you can hear the amusement in her voice.
"Let's just say I'm considering a career change. Maybe I'll become a nun."
Yunjin snorts into her rice. "You? A nun?"
"Hey, I could be holy!" You protest, but you're grinning. "I mean, how hard can it be?"
"About as hard as that time Eunchae tried to seduce that businessman and ended up talking about his cats for two hours," Kazuha reminds you, dry as desert.
"Okay, but in her defense, his cats are adorable—"
"And second of all," Yunjin cuts in, "she got the intel anyway because he thought she was 'refreshingly genuine' or whatever."
Kazuha shakes her head, but she's smiling. "Only she could fail upwards so spectacularly."
The conversation flows easy after that, just three girls sharing dinner and stories from their day. It's almost normal, if you ignore the fact that you're all trained in professional seduction and manipulation.
"Zuzu, you seen the new race bikes downtown?" Yunjin's practically bouncing in her seat. "They've got some wild colors this year. Bright as the neon signs lining the alleys."
"They're really something," you add, grateful for the distraction from your Jeon-related thoughts. "Makes you wanna take one for a spin, just you and the empty streets at midnight."
Kazuha's smiling that soft smile of hers, the one that makes her look like she knows all your secrets. "I saw them. Wish we could know the stories behind them."
"Speaking of stories," Yunjin says, and there's this gleam in her eye that makes you nervous. "Kazuha, aren't you usually having dinner with Saku and Eunchae around now?"
It's an innocent question. Totally innocent. Except nothing's ever really innocent in this place, is it?
Kazuha lets out this little laugh that somehow sounds like wind chimes.
"They're training. Apparently, the training room was..." She pauses, and you swear your heart stops. "...in heavy use earlier."
You start coughing like an idiot because of course you do. Real smooth. Your neck feels hot, and you just know you're turning red because your body is a fucking traitor.
Because yeah, the training room was definitely in use earlier. By you and Jeon. Doing... training things. Totally professional training things that absolutely didn't involve his hands all over you or his mouth on your—
"Oh, is that so?" You try for casual, miss by about a mile. "Training room's been busy lately. Gotta stay sharp and all that."
Yunjin's looking at you like she can see right through your bullshit. Her eyebrow does this little thing—this 'I know what you did' arch that makes you want to crawl under the table. The way she's staring at you, it's like she's reading a book where every page is stamped with "I ALMOST FUCKED JEON IN THE TRAINING ROOM."
Kazuha, bless her soul, just nods serenely. The conversation moves on, but Yunjin's still giving you these looks. You can practically hear her thoughts: 'We're so talking about this later'.
You end up having this whole silent conversation with Yunjin through eyebrows and meaningful glances. She takes a sip of her drink, ice cubes clinking against glass like they're laughing at you, and the little smirk on her face says everything.
Busted.
(You're really going to need to work on your poker face if you're going to keep this thing with Jeon going. Or maybe invest in a paper bag to hide your face. That could work too.)
You're in the middle of telling Yunjin about this absolutely ridiculous mission report you have to finish when—
CRASH.
"You bastard, you think you can talk to me like that?!"
The whole cafeteria goes quiet. Like, pin-drop quiet.
You whip around to see Dongho—V's right-hand man and certified hothead—with his fists bunched in Woojin's shirt. They're both red-faced and looking murderous.
Great. Just what you needed with your dinner: a testosterone-fueled throwdown.
"What the fuck," Yunjin whispers, already tensing up. Kazuha's gone still beside you, like a deer sensing danger.
The thing about fights in Kkangpae? They're never just fights. There's always some deeper shit going on, especially when it's between different divisions.
And this?
This is V's second versus some guy from tactical assassinations. The rivalry between those divisions runs deeper than the Han River.
Speaking of V—you spot him across the room, looking way too entertained for someone whose deputy is about to start a brawl. He's got that look on his face, the one that makes your skin crawl. Like he's watching his favorite show.
"Now, now, let's not get too rowdy, gentlemen!" V calls out, voice dripping with absolutely false concern. When that doesn't work, he cups his hands around his mouth: "Simmer down, boys!"
But they're not listening. Of course they're not, they're men.
You watch as Woojin throws a wild punch that Dongho barely dodges. People are scrambling now—some to get away, others to jump in. It's chaos.
Then Takama's there, all six feet of concentrated 'don't fuck with me' energy. He plants himself between them like a human wall.
"Enough! Stand down, both of you!"
The command in his voice could probably stop traffic.
But Dongho—because he's either brave or stupid or both—just sneers.
"You're the same rank as me. Don't you ever try to pull authority on me."
Oh shit.
You feel the tension in the room spike. This isn't just about whatever started the fight anymore. This is about division politics, about the endless pissing contest between V and Jeon's teams.
And their seconds are about to throw down right here in the cafeteria.
You hear V's dramatic sigh that would put soap opera actors to shame.
"Why must things always descend into violence?" he asks JM, who just shakes his head like he's seen this show a hundred times before.
You watch as V's face changes. It's subtle, but terrifying—like watching a cute puppy turn into a wolf. His playful smile twists into something darker, and then there's suddenly a knife in his hand.
(You're not even sure where it came from; he just does that sometimes, produces weapons like a deadly magician.)
"I tried asking nicely," he says to JM, casual as if he's discussing the weather.
Then—oooookay.
The knife flies through the air, spinning so fast it's just a silver blur. It hits the wall with this loud THUNK that makes everyone jump, landing exactly between Dongho and Woojin's faces. Like, exactly.
You know V well enough to know that wasn't luck—if he'd wanted to hit them, they'd be picking pieces of their noses off the floor right now.
The whole cafeteria goes dead silent. Every head turns to V, who's sitting there looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.
But his eyes? They're gleaming with something that makes your stomach turn.
"There, that got your attention." His voice is soft, almost sweet. Then, louder: "Now sit down and play nice, children."
Dongho and Woojin break apart like they've been electrocuted. You watch Takama and Dongho share one last murder-glare before going their separate ways.
"Holy shit," Yunjin breathes next to you, eyes wide as saucers. She lets out this low whistle that perfectly sums up what everyone's thinking. "Only V could pull that off so effortlessly."
She leans in closer, practically vibrating with excitement.
"That was kind of hot, don't you think?"
You turn to her, eyebrows shooting up. "Didn't know you had a thing for psychopaths with good aim," you tease.
Yunjin's cheeks go pink, and she does that thing where she tucks her hair behind her ear when she's flustered. It's kind of adorable.
"What? Confidence is sexy," she defends, sneaking another look at V. "And you have to admit, that was pretty impressive."
You follow her gaze across the room. V's already moved on, chatting with JM like he didn't just turn a cafeteria brawl into an impromptu knife-throwing demonstration.
But that's V for you—deadly and dramatic in equal measure.
Yunjin's practically glowing as V catches her eye and winks. The smile she gives him is shy, which is funny coming from someone who literally seduces people for a living. But that's just Yunjin—confident as hell on missions but turns into a blushing mess when she actually likes someone.
Speaking of liking someone...
You notice JM's acting weird. He's sitting next to V, pretending to be super interested in his food, but his chopsticks are gripping that poor piece of kimchi like it personally offended him; movements sharp and jerky—very un-JM-like.
He keeps doing this thing where he looks up at V and Yunjin, then quickly back down at his food like he's playing the world's most obvious game of 'I'm not looking, you're looking.' The tension in his shoulders is giving him away though. JM's usually all soft sweaters and gentle vibes, but right now? He looks like someone replaced his bones with steel rods.
After what feels like an eternity of aggressive chopstick action, JM turns to V and says something too quiet for you to hear. His tone's forcefully light—the kind of casual that takes effort. V glances at him with that signature smirk of his, says something back, and suddenly JM's whole face changes. His eyes get all crinkly at the corners, like he's trying not to smile.
Then JM leans in closer (way closer than necessary, if you're being honest), and whatever he whispers makes V laugh. Not his usual theatrical laugh either—this one's soft, private. V nudges JM's shoulder, and just like that, the tension bleeds out of the moment.
You can't help but watch them, pondering. Maybe V's little knife-throwing show bothered JM more than he's letting on. Or maybe...
Oh.
Well, that's interesting.
JM catches you staring and gives you this little smile that definitely means 'nothing to see here, move along.'
You return it because what else can you do? Start announcing your theories about whatever's going on between him and V in the middle of the cafeteria?
The conversation around you picks back up, and you let yourself get pulled into Yunjin's excited whispers about V's 'totally unnecessary but kind of hot' intervention. But part of your brain is still turning over what you just saw.
Because either you're reading way too much into this, or there's something brewing on JM's behalf that makes the gang's 'no relationships' rule look more like a suggestion than a law.
You file that little observation away for later. Right now, you've got food to eat and a best friend to tease about her obvious crush on the gang's resident knife-throwing psychopath.

Chrysos Heirs w/ clumsy reader !
Content: GN!Reader, fluff, mentions of light injuries + sprains, yandere behavior on Anaxa's part (?)
🌹 Note: Shout out to the mfs that get cuts and bruises just by standing still. Me too.
INTRO
The Sky Titan must absolutely despise you for you to trip over air as often as you do.. How you haven't gotten a broken bone is baffling, and yet here you are. For all of your clumsiness, you do manage to get out of almost any situation with only minor scrapes and bruises (most of the time). You're not allowed outside of Okhema for any reason, though, not even to help bring in refugees. The last time you were allowed outside the city, you sprained your ankle so badly that you were bedridden for about a month.. But do not fret!!! There are still plenty of ways to entertain (injure) yourself in the holy city, much to your partner's distress.
– Dear, if you keep falling over your own feet every 20 minutes, she's going to think you like when she catches you in her golden thread
Aglaea
– ^ (You do. She knows you do, so you can't deny it when she teases you for it, yes?)
– If you somehow sprain any of your limbs, she WILL pamper you for the entire time you're injured. This is probably one of the ONLY times she’ll baby you when you're hurt, so try to take advantage of it as much as you can
– One of the few who isn't overly concerned with your penchant for getting injured simply by existing
– Unless you are quite literally impaled by a spear, Aglaea assumes that you can handle yourself and she won't fuss over you too much
– She does get a bit antsy if you end up getting an open wound, though
– You're much too precious to bleed, Dear. What happened? Does she need to kill someone to avenge you?
– ^ She says she's only joking if you get worried/upset. (She is not joking)
– Aglaea may tease you often about your clumsiness, but that's only because she thinks it's endearing
Phainon
– “Who did this? Are you okay? What happened? Who do I need to fight?–”
– He'd try to fight the air if you asked him to. Phai will do anything to defend your honor!! Anything.
– He worries about how often you fall over and drop things– Anytime you're carrying a heavy object, he about has a heart attack before quickly taking it away from you
– “Your hero’s got it covered. Just tell me where I need to put this!”
– Whenever you get a sprain, he'll insist on carrying you everywhere that you want to go for as long as you're healing up
– Doesn't matter if you're bigger than him or not. Phai can lift you with ease and is eager to show off how dependable he can be!!!
– He genuinely spoils you so much when you're hurt. It is as sweet as it is silly
– Please remind him that it's just a sprain or else he'll keep treating you like you're dying 😭
– After you're healed up, he usually spends at least the next few days kissing any and all scars/bruises left behind from your injuries
– It's almost like he's apologizing for not being there to prevent them in the first place 🩵
– ^ (In a way, he is. Even if he has nothing to apologize for, Phai will always feel guilty for not protecting you from yourself)
Castorice
– Ohh you cause her so much stress, she thinks she might have a heart attack one of these days
– Cas genuinely doesn't know what to do!!! She can't just tell you to sit still and do nothing, she's tried that!
– ^ (Somehow, you ended up falling off of your chaise lounge and spraining your elbow..)
– Her only other solution is to spend as much time with you as possible, making sure you don't fall down a flight of stairs or get stomped on by a Dromas D:
– You've got an overprotective angel of death hovering around you nearly 24/7.. It's almost comical, but also a bit unsettling!
– If there's one thing she hates the most, though, it's that she can't patch you up on her own
– Seeing you injured tugs at her heartstrings so much, but all she can do is put a first aid kit in front of you or go find someone else to help you
– You also hate not being able to touch her, but you always reassure Cas that her just being beside you is more than enough
– It may take her a while until she's able to believe you (if ever she does), but she likes hearing it nonetheless because she knows you're being sincere when you say it <3
Mydeimos
– (Affectionately) calls you an idiot whenever you fall or drop things in front of him
– He doesn't usually help you when you stumble because he knows you'll be fine on your own, and he doesn't want to treat you like a child
– That being said… If you've fallen one too many times that day, Mydei will simply pick you up bridal style (all the while grumbling complaints) so that he can carry you around wherever you need/want to go
– He says it's because you're slowing him down, but in reality, it's because he caught a glimpse of the scars and bruises on your legs from previous accidents
– Mydei will never admit this to anyone, especially not to you, but seeing bruises on your skin hurts him more than any physical blow ever could
– He is once again reminded of how fragile the average person is. he is reminded of how fragile you are in particular
– ^ (Just another reason to break this damned curse. What's the point of being indestructible if you're not allowed to share in this “blessing” with him?)
– Mydei can't keep you safe from everything, least of all from your own gracelessness, but he can be there to patch you up and (reluctantly) wait on you hand and foot until you feel better
Anaxagoras
– Oh, you must be studied; he just can't believe you're naturally this clumsy. Are you sure you haven't been cursed?
– Anaxa finds your inelegance as adorable as he does irritating; it's quite a confusing mix of emotions for him
– You are very precious, truly! But if you fall on the way down the steps of your own home one more time, Anaxa will have to resort to drastic measures to keep you from harm
– ^ (“Drastic measures” being forbidding you from using any stairs by yourself, and keeping you by his side for the rest of your life)
– Overkill? Not at all. Maybe. But he loves you, so he'll never admit that he's being overprotective
– You trust him, don't you? So you'll let him do what's best for you without any complaints, right?
– You're simply too much of an airhead to keep yourself safe and uninjured… Those bruises and scars on your legs are proof of that, wouldn't you agree?
– Anaxa knows what's best, of course he does. If you can't trust in yourself, then just trust in him
– He won't outright force you to go along with what he wants, but he will try to “subtly” encourage you to stay indoors. Or even better, move in with him!! Just so that he can take care of you more efficiently, of course :)
Cipher
– You are very cute. Extremely cute, really.. But if she keeps having to run to your rescue (for free!), she will get a perpetual migraine
– It also ruins her image of being independent and selfish when she’s clearly always close enough to hear you stumble or drop something
– Cipher can not be tied down! She is untamed!!! She waits for NO ONE! … Unless it's you, and you're injured. Then she’ll wait for a minute or two
– She does steal things from you as well, but she always says she's only taking them away because they pose a danger to you
– “Oh? Your brush? The handle was real high-quality wood, uh-huh… It was way too heavy for the likes of you, though, so I decided to take it off your hands and sell it! Ah, but don't worry; I'll find an even better one for you, okay?”
– Cipher worries a lot about leaving you alone for too long without supervision (you didn't hear that from me, though)
– You're so unsteady on your feet that she doubts you could survive a day without her
– She may or may not pay Aglaea to check in on you from time to time
– Such a shame you'll never have proof of this :3 can't tease her about it if it's not definitively true!

— the stranger / qimir x f!reader. the jedi have hidden many things from you about the dark side. like how good pleasure can feel and he is more than happy to show you. contents: dubcon, fingering, blood, death, light choking | wc: 881+
Everyone’s dead.
The other Jedi.
Your master.
Your friends.
Everyone’s dead, and you’re….you should be dead. Your blood should be pooling around your lifeless body, painting the green of the grass into something opaque and poetically mixing with the blood of your friends.
The friends you trained with.
The friends you love.
You should be lying lifelessly beside them. With honor and pride for fighting till the very end. That should have been your fate. Your ending. How this bloodbath too its close.
Not this.
Not backed against a tree by the monster who killed those friends you love so much, making you feel….good.
Good when you’re surrounded by death.
Good when you can smell burning flesh with each shuddering inhale that inflates your shaking body,
"It's really simple. So simple. The Jedi like to teach that it’s complex. Light, dark. As if the two can’t mingle, change. Warp. Meld together as one thing entirely. I can show you.” He had said as he stepped closer. Each syllable coming from his mouth matched his foot steps until he was right in front of you, and there was no longer anywhere to go.
Your saber long gone. Destroyed in the chaos of blood and bodies. The safety of a weapon, of an escape, is gone when there’s no space left between the two of you.
“It won’t hurt,” you flinched away from his fingers when he brushed them against your cheek. A twitch of a smirk at the corner of his mouth. “Quite the opposite. There is more to the darkness than your precious Jedi have taught you. It can heal. It can teach.” His eyes swept over your heaving chest, following a trail up the column of your neck to your mouth, making a chill prick the bottom of your spine. “It can please. Give you a type of pleasure not even the flow of light can bring to you. Let me show you.”
Your jawbone ached when he grabbed it after you had shaken your head. After you all but spat in his face about how much of a monster he was. How he’s going to regret what he’s done. Making a stand for yourself with a voice as weak as you felt.
“You Jedi, so closed off in your ways. Never open to something more enlightening. Accepting the other possibilities of being. Of feeling. How can you be all knowing?” His fingers moved from your jaw down to your neck, and the race of your heart accelerated when he wrapped his fist around it. The light pressure had been enough to make your body go into fight or flight. Your hands coming up to grip his wrist. “Let me teach you. I can feel it,” his thumb tapped your pulse point, “in your blood. You’re not like the others. You’re smarter. Be smart.” His head tilted further into your space, making his mouth inches from yours, “you might find by the end of it you want me to show you more.”
That’s how you got to where you are now.
The Strangers hand between your thighs, while the other still holds its grip on your neck. His jaw twitching with every moan you try to hold back. His grip on your neck tightening when you try to bite your lip to stop yourself from letting any noise slip out. Making your mouth pull open, his mouth following the same motion in a pleased smirk.
You’d realized half way into this, half way through the haze, that you could have slipped loose. He’d given you a proper opening to do so. But you hadn’t. Had let yourself be tempted and consumed, willingly.
The fact only adds to the churning in your lower stomach.
The hand between your thigh making your legs shake, your body contorting against the tree. Rolling against his palm, your swollen clit rubbing along the heel of his hand as the two fingers inside of you curl and make you cry out into the night.
Your mind is a mess of pleasure and darkness that not even closing your eyes helps you sift through. To bring you back to the light you’ve had inside of you since birth. To ground yourself enough to use the many skills of the force you’ve been taught.
Each time your eyes close, the pleasure feels worse. More intense. Like the deadliest kind of hallucinogen—his voice, his fingers, his face are there. Images of his mouth on your neck, body, lips, replacing his hand, projected through your head like a fog engulfing your entire being.
It completely engulfs you, and you almost forget what it is like not to be consumed by the allure of darkness. Making your body ultimately crave more.
You don’t know if it’s real or not when you feel his lips brush against your ear and he says, “things that are this reactive to something so minuscule compared to everything else that can be given to it were meant to feel this good.” You shake your head, the walls of your pussy fluttering, swelling around his fingers. “You’re about to come on my fingers, what’s more proof than that that your body seeks the truth. You were meant for all the things the darkness can give.”

3rd Person POV - Friday
The morning light filtered softly through the hotel curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Azzi blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the bright rays filing in, slowly waking her up to the quiet stillness of the room. Her gaze naturally drifted to Paige, who was still fast asleep beside her, the steadiness of her breathing reflecting her deep slumber.
Azzi watched her for a moment, taking in the sight of her in a way she hadn’t been able to before. The blanket had shifted considerably, low on Paige’s waist, and she was lying on her stomach, her hair a little messy on the pillow. Azzi’s gaze softened as she noticed how naturally beautiful Paige was, the little details that made her feel more real, more alive. The sunlight caught in Paige’s hair, highlighting certain strands that framed her face, even in her sleep.
Her eyes traced the sharpness of Paige's jaw, the arch of her nose, the curve of her lips that were relaxed in slumber. As Azzi looked at her she noticed that there was a scar, small and barely visible, near Paige's hairline. Azzi’s finger itched to trace it, to figure out the story associated with it, but she stayed still, careful not to disturb her. The quiet intimacy of the moment was too precious to ruin with a thoughtless action like that.
Her gaze moved lower, her eyes looking at the scar on Paige’s torso—the one from last night. It was more visible when Paige was facing her, but now, with her turned on her stomach, Azzi could only make out a small portion of it, curving along her side and reaching toward her back just slightly.
In the stillness, Azzi felt the weight of the moment, the growing sense of curiosity she had about Paige. She realized, then, just how little she truly knew about her—the person she had shared what felt like many lingering moments with in the past few days. Still, there were so many layers left to explore, so much left to understand.
It wasn’t lost on Azzi how much she wanted to know, how much she yearned to unravel the mysteries that Paige held beneath the surface. It felt like the beginning of something important, something bigger than just a random night in a hotel room. For now, though Azzi was content to just be here, beside her, breathing in the quietness of the morning as she gathered her thoughts.
Azzi lay there for a moment longer, watching Paige as she slept, it was all so peaceful. It felt weird, she could’ve stayed in that moment forever, but after a while, Azzi shifted slightly, careful not to disturb Paige. She slowly reached over the edge of the bed to grab her phone from her pocket, making sure not to make too much noise.
She unlocked it and couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw a text from Caroline pop up first: You still alive? Hope it was good.” Azzi typed a reply, “Yes, I’m alive and please relax.” A few more notifications popped up and Azzi spent a few minutes responding, her fingers moving across the screen.
The next time she glanced over at Paige, she noticed the subtle shift in her posture. Paige’s eyelids fluttered a little, and the quiet signs of waking up were starting to show. Azzi couldn’t help but smile to herself, lowering her phone as Paige slowly began to blink her eyes open.
Paige squinted slightly, clearly still adjusting to the morning light that filtered in through the window. Her eyes, that seemed to be a deeper blue with the way the sun was hitting them, met Azzi’s, a soft glimmer of awareness and curiosity in them. There was something so serene about the way Paige looked at her, a sense of familiarity already settling in, even though they had only known each other for such a short time.
Paige stretched a little, still blinking as she finally spoke in a raspy morning voice, “Morning.” She looked at Azzi for a beat longer, still processing the shift from sleep to reality.
Azzi couldn’t help but grin, the corners of her mouth moving upward as she replied, “Morning. You look like you just got out of a coma.”
Paige’s lips twitched, her eyes still half-lidded as she fought a smile. “Yeah? You don’t look so bad yourself.”
Azzi laughed softly, the moment between them feeling more natural than anything they had shared before. The tension that had once seemed so thick between them now seemed to have lifted, replaced with something lighter.
Paige’s gaze flickered to Azzi’s phone, still in her hand. “Telling your friends how good I was already?”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “Sure something like that,” she replied playfully. She lowered the phone and moved it to the side before she turned back to Paige. “So, how’d you sleep?”
Paige stretched once more, the slight stretch of her body revealing more of the scar near her side that Azzi had seen the night before.
"Like a rock," Paige said, her voice still a little horse. "You?" she asked, turning to Azzi who had the sheet covering her chest.
Azzi chuckled. "Yeah, better than I’ve slept in a while."
Paige kept her gaze fixed on Azzi, still lying there with her head on the pillow. "So, what now?"
Azzi smiled a little, the corners of her lips curling up. "I was hoping you'd know."
Paige returned the smile, raising an eyebrow. "Me? I thought you were the one with all the answers."
Azzi shrugged, not answering right away. Instead, she glanced at the clock on the nightstand. "What time is your flight?"
"6:15," Paige replied.
Azzi hummed quietly, not saying anything else for a moment as she just looked straight ahead. Paige, still looking at her, propped her head up with her hand, studying Azzi’s profile as her eyes danced over Azzi’s face.
Azzi shifted slightly, meeting Paige’s gaze again. "Stop looking at me like that."
Paige grinned. "Like what?"
Azzi let out a soft sigh. "Like you just had sex with me last night."
Paige laughed softly, the sound completely unguarded. "I did have sex with you last night."
Azzi smirked, shaking her head completely at a loss for words. The atmosphere between them felt so easy.
Randomly Azzi says, “Tell me something about you.”
Paige chuckled as she sat up, her shoulder brushing against Azzi’s. “What do you want to know?” she asked, her amusement with the question clear.
Azzi shrugged, her brown eyes warm but curious. “Anything.”
Paige thought for a moment, tilting her head slightly before offering, “Um…Well I’m 22.”
Azzi immediately cut in, unimpressed. “That’s boring, and I already know that.”
Paige laughed. “You didn’t even let me finish.”
Azzi smirked, motioning for her to continue. “Alright, go on.”
Paige licked her lips, thinking for another second before continuing, “I’m 22. My birthday is October 20th. Um… I like purple.” She trailed off, her mind suddenly blank on what else to add.
Azzi gave her an exaggerated look before deadpanning, “Wow. I feel like I’ve known you for years.”
Paige scoffed, shoving Azzi’s arm playfully. “Shut up.”
Azzi grinned, shaking her head. “I’m serious, that was definitely life-changing information.”
Before Paige could respond her phone ringing cut off her thought process, making both Paige and Azzi glance toward the desk where it was sitting. Paige sighed before pushing herself up, stretching her arms over her head as she walked over in just her boxers and sports bra. Azzi’s eyes lingered for a moment, biting her lip slightly as she took in the way the light outlined the toned muscles of her back.
Paige glanced at the caller ID before answering. “Hello.”
Azzi stayed in bed, half-listening as she tried to piece together the conversation once she heard Geno’s voice. She could hear his voice through the speaker, though not clearly enough to make out every word. Something about wanting Paige to come by campus for a bit before her flight since she didn’t have much time to officially meet the team and hangout with them yesterday. Paige hummed in response here and there, glancing over her shoulder with a smirk when she noticed Azzi watching her.
Paige hung up a few moments later, still smiling as she turned back toward the bed. Before she could explain, Azzi’s phone started ringing. She frowned when she saw Geno’s name on the screen, glancing at Paige, who shrugged before disappearing into the bathroom.
Azzi exhaled and answered. “Hey, Coach.”
“Paige is coming to campus in about 20 minutes. I’m sending her your number so she can call you when she gets there. Make sure she feels comfortable,” Geno instructed, his voice casual yet expectant.
Azzi bit back a smile even though he couldn’t see her. “Yeah, I got it. Don’t worry.”
Geno seemed satisfied with that and ended the call. Azzi sighed, tossing her phone on the bed before standing up and stretching. While looking for her shirt her eyes landed on Paige’s black oversized shirt from yesterday, thrown over the chair. Without thinking much of it, she grabbed it and slipped it on. It was small, but she caught a faint trace of Paige’s scent on the fabric and it felt strangely intimate. As if they hadn’t just woken up in the same bed.
She walked toward the bathroom, leaning against the doorway as she watched Paige brush her teeth.
Paige caught Azzi’s reflection in the mirror, her gaze flickering down to the black shirt draped over Azzi’s frame before meeting her eyes again. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she mumbled through the toothpaste, “Looks good on you.”
Azzi rolled her eyes, shifting her weight against the doorframe. “Please don’t start.”
Paige chuckled, spitting into the sink before rinsing her mouth. She turned around, leaning back on the counter as she reached for the towel. “I’m just saying.”
Azzi scoffed, but there was a slight tug at her lips, betraying what she was about to say. “Don’t get used to it.”
Paige just smirked, tilting her head slightly as she looked at Azzi like she knew something she wasn’t saying. Azzi held her gaze for a moment before shaking her head, pushing off the doorframe. “Hurry up,” she said, turning back toward the bed. “I’m not gonna be the reason you’re late.”
Paige watched her go, her smirk still lingering as she wiped her face.
Paige walked out of the bathroom and settled for throwing on a hoodie and a pair of sweats. Turning back toward the bed, she grabbed an extra pair of sweatpants and some boxers and tossed them to Azzi.
Azzi caught them easily saying. “Thank you,” as she slipped them on.
Once they were both ready and Azzi grabbed all of her clothes, they stepped out of Paige’s room.
When they got outside there was a slight breeze as they made their way to Caroline’s car. Azzi unlocked it and slid into the driver’s seat while Paige got in the passenger seat, a lingering smile still tugging at her lips.
Azzi caught the look and sighed, shaking her head as she started the car. “You’re still smirking.”
Paige shrugged. “I didn’t say anything.”
Azzi gave her a pointed look before exhaling a small laugh. “You don’t have to, it's litrally all over your face.”
Paige chuckled but didn’t say anything else, letting the conversation fade into a comfortable silence, the soft hum of the car filling the space between them as they drove toward campus.
When they arrived, Azzi pulled into Caroline’s usual parking spot and turned off the engine. They stepped out, making their way up the stairs to Azzi’s suite.
The second Azzi pushed open the door, she was met with Caroline and Ice lounging on the couch. Both of them took one look at her, eyes dropping to the clothes in her hand before flicking to the shirt and sweats she was wearing. Matching smirks immediately spread across both of their faces.
Azzi paused for half a second before exhaling through her nose, already regretting the situation.
Paige followed, moving into view just enough to lift a hand in a wordless acknowledgment. Ice and Caroline’s eyebrows lifted slightly, clearly not expecting to see her here, both of them thankful they kept their mouths shut for a second.
Azzi kept her expression neutral as she said, “Geno wants us all to hang out with her today before she leaves.”
They both nodded, but the smirks never left their faces. Azzi didn’t entertain it, instead glancing at Paige for a second. She immediately noticed the shift—how Paige’s energy had seemed to dim. Her entire demeanor was more reserved now, quieter, a stark contrast to how she’d been that morning in the hotel of just moments ago in the car.
Azzi frowned slightly before saying, “You can just come with me until the rest of them get here.”
Paige met her eyes briefly before nodding, following Azzi deeper into the suite and into her room.
When they got to Azzi’s room, she shut the door behind her while Paige settled into the chair in front of her desk. Azzi moved to her closet, tossing her clothes inside before straightening up and turning back toward Paige.
Paige was looking around, taking in the space with quiet curiosity. Azzi leaned against the closet door, watching her for a moment before asking, “Is it what you expected?”
Paige glanced at her and nodded. “Surprisingly, yeah.”
Azzi chuckled, grabbing her phone and sending a message to the group chat, telling them all to come to her suite courtesy of Geno. Almost instantly, the message started getting likes, but she didn’t linger on it. Placing her phone down, she looked back at Paige.
“I’ll be right back. I’m gonna go brush my teeth and make myself presentable,” Azzi said.
Paige gave a small nod, and with that, Azzi slipped out of the room, making sure she shut the door behind her.
Left alone, Paige let out a soft exhale, her gaze drifting across the room until it landed on a corkboard hanging on the wall. It was filled with pictures—Azzi’s life in high school and college. Paige leaned forward slightly, eyes tracing over the pictures, and before she realized it, a small smile had formed on her lips.
When Azzi returned from the bathroom, her hair was pulled up into a messy bun, a few loose strands framing her face. She shut the door behind her again and moved to lean against the desk, standing just a few inches from where Paige was sitting, her leg brushing against Paige’s knee.
Paige glanced up at her, eyes flicking to her hair before smirking slightly. “Cute.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “Me or the bun?”
Paige shrugged. “Both.”
Azzi rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the way her lips twitched. “You’re lucky you’re charming.”
Paige leaned back in the chair, spreading her legs a bit more. “I know.”
Azzi gave her a look, smiling at her. “Oh, you’re back now, huh?”
Paige tilted her head. “Back?”
Azzi motioned toward the door with her chin. “You got a little stoic out there.”
Paige exhaled through her nose, shaking her head. “Just wasn’t in the mood to be the center of attention first thing in the morning to strangers.”
Azzi studied her for a moment before nudging her knee with her own. “Well, it’s just us now.”
Paige grinned up at her. “Yeah?” Paige licked her lips as she looked up at Azzi, “So what you wanna do about it?”
Azzi shook her head, biting her lip slightly to stop a smile. “I should’ve left you in the hotel.”
Paige chuckled, tilting her head back against the chair as she looked up at Azzi. “Too late now.”
“Unfortunately.”
Paige kept her eyes on Azzi, her gaze unwavering. It made Azzi shift slightly, the intensity of it throwing her off.
“Stop,” Azzi muttered
Paige raised an eyebrow. "Stop what?"
"You’ve had that look on your face since you woke up."
Paige just hummed in response, the smirk never leaving her lips as she continued looking up at Azzi.
Azzi narrowed her eyes. “Can you at least tell me what you’re thinking?”
Paige slouched further against the chair, her legs spread slightly, and lazily shook her head. “No.”
Azzi didn’t respond immediately, just studied her, trying to decipher whatever was running through her mind. Paige, still lounging effortlessly, absentmindedly started playing with the hem of her shirt that Azzi was wearing.
Azzi glanced down at her hand before raising an eyebrow. Without hesitation, she swatted Paige’s hand away.
Paige scoffed at the action.
From down the hall, the sound of voices grew louder, the unmistakable clamor of the team filling the suite.
“I think the team’s here,” Azzi murmured, straightening up from the desk as she glanced toward the door.
Paige didn’t respond. Instead she took a moment before she stood up, immediately in Azzi’s space—close enough that Azzi could feel the warmth radiating off her. They both noticed the closeness but neither of them moved, locked in a quiet stare.
Azzi looked Paige up and down with a small smirk playing on her face. “You know if you want to–”
KK’s voice rang out through the suite and interrupted whatever Azzi was about to say, “Azzi, stop hogging the recruit!”
Azzi chuckled, while Paige simply exhaled through her nose. Without a word, she stepped back, casually shoving her hands into her pockets before following Azzi out of the room.
As they stepped out of Azzi’s room, the noise in the suite became more apparent. The team was already gathered, everyone lounging in comfortable clothes—sweats, sweatshirts, sneakers—looking relaxed. No one made any formal introductions again, but the moment Paige stepped into the living room, the attention shifted to her. They all greeted her, some with friendly smiles and others with more playful words trying to immediately make her feel comfortable, but the ease of the atmosphere didn’t seem to reach Paige fully as she sat down on the couch and Azzi walked to the other side of the room.
As soon as Paige sat down KK took a seat next to her, KK’s natural energy radiating off of her as she looked at Paige. “So,” KK said, trying to strike up a conversation, “What makes you not boring like everybody else? Gimme something good.”
Paige glanced over at her, her lips curling up in a small, reserved smile. “Um, I don’t know,” she said, shrugging slightly. “I play basketball. That’s pretty much it.”
KK groaned but pressed on. “Okay, but what do you like to do when you’re not playing? There has to be something interesting about you.”
Paige didn’t answer right away, her gaze flicking to the others in the room as if searching for something to latch onto. Finally, she let out a breath and gave a half-smile, her eyes momentarily flicking back to Azzi who was standing by the counter. “I don’t have much time for hobbies these days honestly. Mostly just rehab and working out, been doing a lot of visits and when I’m not doing any of those I watch my team practice. Homework I don’t know.”
Aubrey nodded, chiming into the conversation. “That’s fair,” she said. “But I mean, everyone has something outside basketball, right? You like any movies or music? Come on, give us something. You sound like a robot dawg.”
Paige’s jaw tightened slightly, and she leaned back a little more on the couch, her posture still casual but distant. “I mean yeah I like music. R&B, mostly, a little of everything though” she replied, her voice steady but a little guarded.
The conversation kept going, but it was clear that Paige wasn’t opening up much. She was here physically, but emotionally she was closed off. There was confidence in her responses—no hesitation, no awkwardness—but not much more. She didn’t offer much beyond what was necessary to keep the conversation moving or to answer direct questions they asked her.
Azzi caught the shift in Paige’s demeanor the moment she looked over and saw Paige staring off into space, her finger absentmindedly spinning the ring on her hand. It was subtle, but Azzi noticed. Azzi pushed off the counter, excusing herself from the conversation with Ashlynn and Jana, and made her way over to where Paige was sitting on the couch.
She lowered herself into the seat next to her, close enough that their legs brushed together.
“Whatcha thinkin about?”
Paige blinked, breaking out of her thoughts, and her eyes slowly shifted over to Azzi. A faint smile appeared on her face. She shook her head. “Nothing much.”
Azzi didn’t buy it. “I don’t believe you,” she said simply.
Paige chuckled, a small and unconvincing sound, before her gaze shifted back to the group as the noise around them seemed to fill the air.
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “Are you uncomfortable?”
Paige quickly shook her head. “Not uncomfortable, just… not much to say really.”
Azzi muttered under her breath, almost too quietly to hear, but Paige caught it. “You sure had a lot to say last night.”
Paige chuckled at this, tilting her head slightly as she met Azzi’s gaze. “I don’t think you wanna get into that with me right now,” she murmured.
Azzi held her gaze, her lips twitching, but before either of them could push further, a voice cut through the moment.
“Yo, Paige!” Aubrey called from across the room.
Paige let the stare linger for a second longer before finally tearing her eyes away, turning toward Aubrey. “Yeah?”
“How tall are you?” Aubrey asked, her expression unreadable.
Paige blinked, thrown off by the random question. “Six foot.”
Aubrey nodded. “You can shoot?”
Paige huffed a small laugh, still confused but playing along. “Yeah.”
Without another word, Aubrey simply nodded again and went right back to her conversation, as if she hadn’t just stopped the room to ask.
Paige frowned slightly, looking over at Azzi, who just shrugged.
Paige’s time with the team went like this for about another hour—mostly talking to Azzi, though every now and then, someone would chime in with a random question that Paige would answer. It wasn’t that she didn’t know how to talk to people. She just didn’t do well with new people, with people she didn’t know. Simply because she didn’t like small talk much. It was one of her pet peeves that had formed some time ago when her step mom would force her to talk through the pain in her ribs with pointless questions and comments.
After a few hours of chilling with the team it was time for Paige to head back to her hotel so she could go to the airport. She stretched slightly as she stood up, glancing at Azzi, who was already watching her.
“You heading out?” Azzi asked.
Paige nodded. “Yeah.”
“I’ll walk you out.”
Paige didn’t argue, just slipped her hands into her pockets as she followed Azzi toward the door bidding goodbye to everyone before they walked out.
The two of them stood outside waiting for Paige’s uber not saying much. Paige rocked back on her heels, hands in her pockets, glancing at Azzi, who was leaning against the railing, arms crossed.
Azzi glanced at Paige. “So.”
Paige smiled softly, tilting her head. “So.”
Azzi exhaled, watching her carefully. “When are you making your decision?”
“I have to visit a few more schools first,” she admitted. “But soon.”
Azzi hummed at this, nodding slightly. Before either of them could say anything else, the Uber pulled up. Paige stood there for a second, looking at Azzi, searching for something in her expression. Then, a small smile tugged at her lips.
“How do you wanna play this?” Paige asked, her voice quieter now.
Azzi shrugged, her face unreadable.
Paige smiled at that before stepping forward, pulling Azzi into a hug. It was brief but firm, lingering just long enough before they pulled away.
Azzi met her eyes. “Don’t be a stranger.”
Paige smirked. “You have my number Azzi.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “Are you actually going to text back?”
Paige shrugged. “Guess we’ll have to see.”
Azzi scoffed, shaking her head. “You aren’t as mysterious anymore. So your little ominous comments don’t work.”
Paige laughed at that, reaching for the car door. “I’ll text you.”
Azzi crossed her arms, a small smile playing on her lips. “I’ll text back.”
Paige met her gaze one last time, her expression softer now. “I’ll see you soon, Azzi.”
With that, she slid into the Uber, shutting the door behind her. Azzi stood there, watching as the car pulled away, her arms still crossed, her smile lingering, before she walked back upstairs.
…
After that day, Paige and Azzi kept in touch—not constantly, but enough. Their conversations were never rushed, never forced. A text here and there, one of them sending something random. Azzi sending a meme, Paige sending a highlight clip, both of them sending song recommendations that neither of them ever admitted to actually listening to.
Their texts always stretched over days. It would start off as a constant back and forth, but then one of them would respond hours later, sometimes even the next day, but neither ever seemed to mind. Azzi would send something sarcastic, Paige would respond with something equally dry, and it would spiral into playful messages until one of them finally let it die out—only for another conversation to start days later in the same effortless way.
What surprised Azzi the most during this time was that Paige always answered her FaceTime calls. She’d roll her eyes and act inconvenienced, but she never ignored them. “I told you I don’t like FaceTime,” she’d say when she picked up, usually lying in bed or at a random gym. Azzi would just smirk, tilting her head. “Then why do you always answer?”
Paige never had a real answer for that. She’d just shake her head, fighting a small smile before changing the subject.
Through these scattered conversations, Azzi learned more about Paige. She found out that Paige was at a small Division II school in Minnesota, though she rarely talked about it unless Azzi pried, mumbling about how Azzi asked way too many questions. Azzi learned that Paige hadn’t played her freshman year because of the accident, and after tearing her ACL this past year, she still had two years of eligibility left. Though she planned to use just one—coaches seemed to think that was all she needed to prove that she could still perform on the big stage.
Azzi also learned little things. Like how Paige always listened to music when she couldn’t sleep, nothing too loud, just playing softly in the background so she could listen to the lyrics instead of all the random thoughts swirling in her head. She learned how Paige had a habit of spinning the ring on her finger when she was thinking or when she got a little nervous or uncomfortable. How she spaced off in the middle of conversations and came back to earth like nothing happened. How she only drank coffee if she was desperate, otherwise she stuck to water or the occasional shirley temple.
It was a slow process, getting to know her. Paige didn’t just offer things up freely, but Azzi didn’t mind the wait. The more Paige revealed, the more Azzi realized that, beneath all that confidence and “mystery,” she was someone who chose her words carefully. Someone who didn’t say things unless she meant them.
Paige learned about Azzi just as Azzi had learned about her.
It was almost effortless—Azzi carried most of their conversations, filling in the silences that Paige left behind. That was the first thing Paige realized: Azzi wasn’t necessarily talkative, but with her, she was. Because she knew Paige wouldn’t speak much unless she was eased into it first. If they were ever on FaceTime around Azzi’s team they were the one’s talking and yelling while Azzi usually just sat there offering a small comment here and there.
Paige learned that, despite being one of the healthiest people she had ever met, Azzi had an undeniable sweet tooth—so much so that if she could, she’d probably marry a sweet treat. Paige learned that Azzi loved to read, losing herself in books when she needed a break from the world. She learned that Azzi loved talking about the books she was reading when she was done, even when Paige had no idea what she was talking about most of the time.
She learned about Stewie, Azzi’s dog, and how just talking about him could make Azzi light up. Paige learned about the little things—the things that made Azzi smile, the things that made her laugh, the things that made her feel at home when she was away at school and missed her family.
And now, about a month or so later, they were about to see each other again.
Azzi hadn’t expected to see Paige. As far as she knew, Paige was still making her rounds, visiting schools, weighing her options. They had texted earlier in the day like usual—short, easy messages that stretched over time—but Paige hadn’t mentioned anything about being at the game.
The arena was loud, packed with energy as UConn went through their usual warmups. The rhythm of bouncing basketballs, sneakers squeaking against the hardwood, and the music blaring through the speakers filled the space. Azzi was locked in, focused on her silent routine, until a glance toward USC’s bench made her freeze for half a second and do a double take.
Paige was there. Sitting just behind their bench, in nearly the same spot she had been when she watched UConn play before.
Azzi’s eyebrows lifted slightly, her grip tightening around the ball in her hands as she tried to process the sight. Paige, of all people, at the USC game—against UConn, no less.
Paige, of course, had seen Azzi notice her. And, because she was Paige, she smirked, leaning back slightly in her seat when she caught Azzi’s eyes.
Azzi blinked, exhaling a short breath as she shook her head, trying to fight the smile tugging at her lips. This girl.
…
From the moment the ball tipped off Azzi spent the entire game battling against USC’s defense, which had clearly done its homework on the shooting guard. Every time she tried to move off the ball, two defenders shadowed her. Every screen she ran around, they fought through, or two people jumped at her. UConn’s offense, usually fluid and dynamic with the ball in her hands, felt a little stagnant without her usual rhythm.
Paige could see it—the way Azzi’s frustration built with every contested shot, every missed opportunity. She wasn’t playing badly by any means, but she wasn’t playing as freely as she usually did. From where Paige was sitting, she could see ways Azzi could create more space for herself. Small adjustments, little shifts in movement that could’ve made a difference. But all she could do was sit there and watch it unfold behind USC’s bench.
The game was tight all the way through, every possession feeling heavier as the clock wound down. But in the final minutes, USC managed to stay just a step ahead.
When the buzzer finally sounded, the scoreboard read 83-79 in USC’s favor.
The home crowd erupted in celebration while UConn’s players sighed, some shaking their heads, others already replaying the game in their minds. Azzi, standing near the baseline, exhaled sharply, hands on her hips as she looked up at the scoreboard.
From her seat behind USC’s bench, Paige simply watched it all unfold.
A few minutes after the game, once the immediate post-game chaos settled, Paige and Azzi finally made their way toward each other. Paige had stepped away from the crowd, having a few moments to herself while USC went to have their post-game talk. Azzi, fresh off the handshake line, was still coming down from the intensity of the game.
"You didn’t tell me you were coming," Azzi said as soon as they were close enough. The fans near them yelling to get Azzi’s attention.
Paige let out a soft laugh. "You always lead with something I don’t expect. Never a hello."
Azzi shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I don’t have a lot of time," she admitted, glancing over her shoulder toward the tunnel, where her teammates were heading in. "But I wanted to see where you were staying."
"The Marriott, a few minutes from here," Paige answered easily.
Azzi hummed at this. "Hm. Us too."
Paige chuckled, tilting her head slightly. "Guess I’ll see you later, then."
Azzi was about to respond, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw the final straggler from her team disappear into the tunnel. She knew she couldn’t afford to linger any longer, especially after a loss. Exhaling softly, she glanced back at Paige.
"I’ll text you," Azzi said instead.
Paige gave her a small nod. Azzi held her gaze for just a second longer before turning and walking toward the locker room.
…
Later that night, Paige was lying in bed, scrolling aimlessly through her phone, when a soft knock echoed through her hotel room. She blinked at the door before pushing herself up, already knowing who it was but still peeking through the peephole out of habit.
A smirk tugged at her lips as she swung the door open, revealing Azzi standing on the other side in an oversized hoodie and pajama shorts. Paige’s gaze dropped to the shorts, taking in the tiny red hearts printed across them.
“Nice hearts,” Paige teased.
Azzi rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips as she reached out and shoved Paige’s shoulder—though Paige barely moved.
Without another word, Azzi stepped inside, her expression expectant as she looked at Paige. Paige furrowed her brows slightly before realization dawned on her features. Without hesitation, she reached out, wrapping Azzi in a long, lingering hug.
Azzi let out a quiet sigh as Paige wrapped her arms around her, melting into the hug like it was exactly what she needed. Paige held her close, resting her chin on Azzi’s shoulder, feeling the tension still lingering in her body from the game.
"Long day?" Paige murmured.
Azzi huffed a soft laugh. "You could say that."
Paige smiled, pulling back just enough to look at her. "So, what? You came all the way up here just for a hug?"
Azzi raised an eyebrow. "Would that be weird?"
Paige shrugged. "Nah. I get it. I’m me."
Azzi rolled her eyes but didn’t deny it. Instead, she wandered further into the room, glancing around before flopping down onto Paige’s bed like she’d done it a hundred times before. Paige smirked at this.
"You make yourself at home real quick, huh?"
Azzi glanced up at her. "Well, you did say you’d see me later."
Paige huffed a quiet laugh, shaking her head before pushing off the wall and making her way toward the bed. She sat at the edge, glancing over at Azzi, who was already sprawled out against the pillows, arms tucked behind her head, looking completely at ease.
Azzi turned her head slightly, her gaze settling on Paige. “How’d I play?”
Paige shrugged before shifting to lay beside her, mirroring her position. “Pretty good.”
Azzi arched her brow. “Not great?”
Paige shook her head. “No, not great.”
Azzi sighed, tilting her head back against the pillows as she mumbled “I hate basketball sometimes.”
Paige turned her head slightly, studying her before adding, “Their defense was basically ‘anyone but Azzi Fudd’ so don’t think about it too much.”
Azzi let out a quiet groan, staring up at the ceiling. "Tell me about it," she muttered. "Felt like they had three people trailing me at all times."
Paige turned her head slightly, glancing at her. "They did," she confirmed. "But you were still getting good looks. You just weren't creating enough space."
Azzi gave her a side-eye. "Oh, so now you're my coach?"
Paige laughed. "I'm just saying, I saw a few ways you could’ve gotten open."
Azzi rolled onto her side, propping her head up with her hand. "Yeah? Like what?"
Paige mirrored her, facing Azzi. "Couple times, you could’ve used your off-ball movement better. They were biting hard on screens—if you slipped off quicker, you would've had more separation. I don’t know if you had anyone to make the pass but still. And when you did get the ball, you hesitated just a little too long. You let them recover."
Azzi stared at her for a moment, her competitive nature flaring just slightly. "You really sat there analyzing me the whole game, huh?"
Paige smirked. "What else was I supposed to do? Watch USC?"
Azzi scoffed. "Yeah, actually."
Paige chuckled, nudging Azzi’s arm with her elbow. "Seriously though, you played well. USC just had a good scouting report."
Azzi sighed, rolling onto her back again. "Yeah. Sucks, though."
"Would've helped if you had a more consistent shooter."
Azzi turned her head toward Paige, raising an eyebrow. "Ashlynn can shoot."
Paige shrugged. "She can, But if she doesn’t make her first few shots, she’s nonexistent the rest of the game."
Azzi hummed at this but didn’t argue, staring up at the ceiling in thought. After a while she tilted her head to look at Paige who was just staring at the ceiling now. Azzi propped her head up on her hand again as she said, “Enough about me. How was your visit?”
Paige shrugged, not offering anything more.
Azzi gave her a pointed look. "How many times do I have to tell you? Shrugging isn’t a proper form of communicating."
Paige chuckled, finally breaking her silence. "It was alright, I guess."
Azzi narrowed her eyes. "Wow. Raving review. So... USC’s out of the running?"
Paige nodded. "Yeah."
Azzi hummed, studying her. "That was quick."
Paige smiled slightly. "I know what I want."
Azzi tilted her head. "And USC wasn’t it?"
Paige shook her head. "Not even close."
Azzi’s lips curled slightly, but she didn’t press further. Instead, she just traced Paige’s arm with her fingers. "Guess that means you’re running out of options, huh?"
Paige glanced down at her arm where Azzi was touching before saying. "Guess so."
Azzi shifted slightly, resting her cheek against her palm as she eyed Paige. “How many do you have left?”
Paige knew what she was asking—how many visits, how many schools still in consideration. She exhaled softly. “Two.”
Azzi nodded, her fingers idly playing with the string of her hoodie. “Are you actually considering them?”
Paige turned her head, meeting Azzi’s gaze for a brief moment before answering. “Not really…I have to go, though.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
Paige laughed. “Because they’ll report all the other schools to the NCAA if I don’t.”
Azzi let out a laugh, shaking her head. “You really have schools breaking rules for these ‘unofficial’ visits?”
Paige just chuckled, shrugging like it wasn’t a big deal. “Guess I’m a hot commodity.”
Azzi laughed at this and the room settled into a quiet stillness, the only sound the faint hum of the hotel’s air conditioning. Paige’s eyes flickered over Azzi’s face, taking in the way the dim light softened her features, the way her lips parted slightly like she had something to say but was hesitating. Azzi, normally composed, seemed almost hesitant now, her fingers playing with the string of her hoodie as she held Paige’s gaze.
Finally, Azzi exhaled. “Can I kiss you?”
Paige smiled a little at the question and gave a small nod.
With the confirmation, Azzi closed the distance between them, her fingers brushing gently against Paige’s jaw before tilting her chin up and capturing her lips in a slow kiss. Paige exhaled steadily against Azzi, her hands finding their place on Azzi’s hips.
Not long after the kiss started Azzi tilted her head, deepening it, and Paige followed her lead, nipping at Azzi’s bottom lip just enough to make her sigh.
The sound sent a warmth through Paige’s chest, and before she could process it, Azzi shifted forward instinctively, settling more comfortably in Paige’s lap, her knees pressing into the mattress on either side of Paige’s waist.
Paige’s hands slid upward, fingertips grazing the skin just beneath Azzi’s hoodie, tracing patterns. After some time, Azzi pulled back slightly, her lips parting as she exhaled.
“We can’t,” she murmured, her voice breathy but firm.
Paige, still beneath her, let out a low chuckle, her thumbs rubbing soothing circles against Azzi’s waist. “I know.”
Azzi blinked, slightly thrown off by Paige’s lack of protest. “You know?”
Paige nodded, her blue eyes flickering with amusement as she tilted her head back against the pillows. “Yeah. You spent all day yesterday texting me about how bad your cramps were,” she reminded her. “And how none of this actually makes sense because men are the ones with Adam’s apples.”
Azzi huffed out a small laugh, shaking her head as she sat back a little, still straddling Paige. “Hm. I sure did say that.”
Paige hummed in acknowledgment, her fingers still lazily circling Azzi’s waist, her touch lingering. She was looking at Azzi in the way she seemed to do a lot lately—like she had her completely figured out.
Azzi shifted slightly, her gaze flickering between Paige’s eyes as she noticed the way Paige was just… staring at her. Not in a way that made her uncomfortable, but in a way that made her feel like Paige was seeing right through her—like she was memorizing her, like she was thinking about something she wouldn’t say out loud.
Azzi’s voice was quiet when she finally asked, “What do you think about when you look at me?”
Paige’s fingers were still circling lazily against Azzi’s waist, her touch warm. She blinked at the question, lips parting slightly before she simply answered, “Too much.”
Azzi hummed at this, tilting her head slightly. “Why?”
Paige sighed, her expression shifting into something a little more distant. She took a moment, as if deciding whether she wanted to answer, before finally saying, “Don’t wanna make the wrong decision.”
Azzi didn’t respond right away, but her silence and the look she was giving her encouraged Paige to continue.
Paige inhaled deeply before saying, “Life has a way of being unpredictable and a little cynical, regardless of your intentions. So I think about everything I’m doing way too much, hoping I can control the outcome… even though chances are I can’t.”
Azzi studied her, processing the weight behind Paige’s words. Without thinking, her fingers moved to the ring on Paige’s finger, gently spinning it the way she had seen Paige do. She hesitated before asking, “Is it because of the accident?”
Paige didn’t answer right away, but the way her jaw tightened—how her fingers briefly stilled against Azzi’s waist—was answer enough. After a second, she gave a small nod.
Azzi kept her touch light as she continued to toy with the ring, her voice even softer when she said, “You don’t talk about it much.”
Paige let out a quiet breath, eyes flickering away for a moment. “Not much to say.”
Azzi shook her head slightly. “I think there’s a lot to say. You just don’t want to.”
Paige chuckled under her breath, but there was no humor in it. “You make that sound like a bad thing.”
“It’s not bad,” Azzi murmured. “Just… something I’ve picked up on.”
Paige exhaled, staring past Azzi for a moment, her thoughts somewhere else. Then, with a small shake of her head, she finally admitted, “It’s just… easier. Not thinking about it, not talking about it.”
Azzi watched Paige carefully, noting the way her fingers twitched slightly against her waist. She let the silence settle between them for a moment before asking, “Have you ever talked to anyone about it?”
Paige’s lips pressed together briefly before she shook her head. “No.”
Azzi’s brows furrowed slightly. “Why not?”
Paige exhaled through her nose, then looked up at her with a soft smile. “You ask a lot of questions, pretty girl.”
Azzi huffed a soft laugh. “And you usually answer them, gorgeous.”
Paige let out a breath, her smile fading into something more thoughtful. She glanced away before finally saying, “No point. Every time I try, I just end up thinking about all the different decisions I could’ve made. Doesn’t do me any good.”
Azzi didn’t respond right away, just watching Paige as she absentmindedly traced circles against her skin. There was something raw in Paige’s admission, something unspoken lingering between them.
“You know there’s nothing you could’ve done. You can’t control the world Paige.”
Paige nodded, but she didn’t speak, her eyes fixed somewhere past Azzi’s shoulder. Azzi could tell she wasn’t fully convinced—just because she knew it didn’t mean it was easy to accept.
“I know,” Paige finally said, her voice quiet. “But there’s just a lot from that day that could’ve changed things.”
Azzi tilted her head slightly. “Like what?”
Paige hesitated. Azzi saw the way her lips parted like she was about to say something before she stopped herself, debating.
But then Paige’s gaze shifted, fully looking at her—the way Azzi was straddling her hips, the way she was still idly playing with the ring on her finger, the way her brown eyes were searching but so patient and warm.
Suddenly, Paige just started talking. “You know my little brother, Drew?”
Azzi nodded.
Paige stared past her for a second before continuing. “That day, he was bugging me all afternoon to go get ice cream. I mean, non-stop—every few minutes for some reason. But I was tired from the games that week, and I had a workout later that day, so I didn’t really want to leave the house before I had to. But I promised him we would go… just not right then.”
Azzi stayed silent, just listening as Paige’s voice took on a more distant quality.
Paige chuckled dryly. “When it was time for my workout, I couldn’t drive because I didn’t put gas in my car the night before, so we all went together—me, my dad, my stepmom, and Drew. Ironically we had never even done that before, that was the first time everyone was coming to one of my workouts. We left a little earlier than we needed to, and when Drew noticed he asked if we could stop for ice cream.” Paige let out a small, humorless huff, eyes still unfocused as she spoke. “My dad looked at me in the rearview mirror and said it was my workout so it was up to me. And I always hated saying no to Drew and I had said no so many times that day already, so I said of course.”
Azzi saw the moment Paige started slipping away, her expression flattening, her words turning mechanical, like she wasn’t even processing them as they left her mouth.
“So instead of going straight, we turned right,” Paige said, her voice distant, like she was narrating someone else’s life. “A few blocks later, one light before we were going to turn into the coldstone, there was this Pepsi truck. I guess he was coming off the highway too fast or something. He couldn’t brake in time, so he ran the light while we were in the intersection.”
She swallowed hard.
“The truck hit the side of the car my stepmom and I were on…They say your brain is supposed to block out things like that. Make it easier. But I remember everything. I just—” Her voice faded, like the words had dried up in her throat. Her eyes were glossy, unfocused, trapped in a memory she couldn’t shake. She blinked once, slowly, then murmured, “And yeah. That was that.”
Paige let out a shaky breath before continuing, her voice rough.
“And I hated the world for so long. Sometimes I still do honestly,” she admitted, a bitter edge creeping into her tone. “Because I—I did everything right. I prayed every night, I gave back, I was generous, selfless, I worked hard, I did everything they say you’re supposed to, and that still happened. But then I remember I can’t hate the world. Because we’re all still here and healthy. I still get to play the game I love. I’m still so blessed. So I can’t even give myself the grace to be upset about everything.”
Silence settled between them as Paige just stared into space.
Azzi glanced down at Paige’s hands, noticing how cold they had become. She squeezed them softly, rubbing her thumbs over the backs of Paige’s knuckles, trying to get the blood flowing again.
“Paige,” Azzi said gently, her voice barely above a whisper. She squeezed her hands again, firmer this time, tilting Paige's head slightly to meet her eyes. “Hey.”
Azzi watched as Paige slowly came back to herself, the distant haze in her eyes clearing as she blinked a few times. Her gaze refocused, landing on Azzi like she had just remembered she was there.
“Hm?” Paige murmured.
Azzi softened her hold on Paige’s hands, giving her the space to pull away if she wanted to—but she didn’t let go completely. She just held on. “What do you need?” Azzi asked gently.
Paige exhaled, her fingers flexing slightly in Azzi’s grasp. “I’m good,” she said, but there was no real conviction behind it.
Azzi didn’t argue, didn’t push. She just said, soft but firm, “Paige.”
Paige licked her lips, taking a slow breath. “Tell me something about you.”
Azzi studied her for a moment, then nodded, shifting slightly where she sat. She thought for a second before a small smile tugged at her lips.
“Okay,” she said, tilting her head. “During CoVid, my brothers and I got so bored one day that we decided to go out on the patio and I gave them haircuts.”
Paige’s brows lifted slightly, intrigued.
Azzi grinned. “And not just any regular haircuts. I was cutting shapes into their heads. Like, just completely ruining them. I had no idea what I was doing, but they let me do it anyway.”
Paige huffed a small laugh, and Azzi could see the lightness in her eyes start to return.
“I drew a basketball in one of their heads, even added my jersey number,” Azzi continued, laughing at the memory. “It was awful. Just—bad all around. But we were dying the whole time. Even my parents came out to watch.”
Paige chuckled, the sound quiet but genuine. “They actually let you do that?”
“Oh yeah,” Azzi nodded. “We were locked in the house for months; we needed entertainment. I think they regretted it as soon as they saw their reflections, but at that point, it was too late.”
Paige shook her head, smiling softly. “That’s ridiculous.”
Azzi shrugged. “Definitely. But I think it’s one of my favorite memories. Just us being stupid and not caring about anything else.”
Paige looked at her for a long moment, then exhaled. “Sounds nice.”
Azzi gave her hands another squeeze. “It was.”
They stayed like that for a few beats, the weight in the room a little lighter now. Azzi watched Paige carefully, making sure she was really back, that she wasn’t slipping away again.
“You good?” Azzi asked quietly.
Paige nodded, her fingers brushing against Azzi’s where they were still intertwined. “Yeah,” she murmured.
Azzi studied her for a moment before speaking softly. “Thank you for telling me that.”
Paige didn’t say anything at first—just nodded again. Then, with a gentle tug on Azzi’s hoodie, she pulled her down, closing the space between them. Their lips met in a kiss that felt different from all the others—not rushed or hesitant. It was just them, existing in this moment, wrapped up in each other.
Azzi sighed into the kiss, her hands moving instinctively to cup Paige’s face, her thumbs brushing over her cheeks. Paige’s fingers curled around the fabric of Azzi’s hoodie, holding her close, like she needed this—like she needed her.
The kiss continued to slowly deepen, neither of them in a rush to pull away. It was a quiet kind of intimacy, one that didn’t need words.
Then—
A knock at the door.
Azzi broke the kiss, her head moving toward the sound as her breath came a little uneven. Paige groaned, her head dropping against the pillow.
Azzi exhaled a quiet laugh, still slightly dazed as she glanced down at Paige. “You expecting someone?”
Paige shook her head. “No.” She tapped Azzi’s leg, silently telling her to get up. With a small sigh, Azzi slid off Paige’s lap, settling back against the pillows as Paige stood and walked toward the door.
Azzi couldn’t see who it was from where she sat—the way the hotel room was laid out blocked her view—but she heard the confusion in Paige’s voice when she opened the door.
“Wassup?”
A second voice answered, a little sheepish. “I think I left my charger here earlier. And I know you’re leaving tomorrow, so I didn’t wanna be SOL.”
Paige chuckled. “Hold on, I’ll grab it.”
She stepped back into the room, her eyes scanning for a moment before she spotted a charger near the couch. Grabbing it, she walked back toward the door.
“Thanks,” the voice said.
“No problem,” Paige replied easily before shutting the door behind her.
Azzi raised an eyebrow, her lips twitching slightly. “I didn’t realize your hotel room doubled as lost and found.”
Paige laughed as she sat back on the bed. “Ha ha, very funny.”
Azzi tilted her head. “Who was that?”
“Just one of the girls from the USC team,” Paige said casually.
Azzi’s eyebrows furrowed slightly at this, and Paige immediately caught on, shaking her head. “It’s not what you think.”
“I didn’t even say anything.”
Paige scoffed. “It was all over your face.” She shifted, propping herself up on her elbow as she continued, “A couple of them came over yesterday before the game and just chilled here with me because my flight’s early tomorrow.”
Azzi hummed at this, but Paige could tell her mind was still working.
“What?” Paige prompted, watching as Azzi hesitated for a moment before finally asking, “Have you slept with anyone since me?”
There wasn’t a single beat of hesitation before Paige answered, “No.”
Azzi didn’t say anything for a moment, her gaze lingering on Paige. Paige studied her in return, waiting, until the silence stretched a little too long.
Finally, Paige spoke again. “There’s no one else, Azzi.”
Azzi looked at her, eyebrows furrowing slightly as if processing the weight of the words. Then, softly, she responded, “I know. I’m just processing why the thought crossed my mind.”
Paige chuckled, leaning back on the bed with a casual smile. “I already told you why…You were way too interested for it to be just one night.”
Azzi rolled her eyes, but there was a softness in her expression now. “You’re full of yourself,” she muttered. “I miss when you didn’t speak unless spoken to.”
Paige raised an eyebrow, leaning back against the bed with a smug smile. “Really?” she teased.
Azzi sighed dramatically, shaking her head. “No,” she said, her voice softening. “I don’t miss it, but it was... easier.”
Paige chuckled. “I’ll remember this when you’re begging me to say more than two words on FaceTime.”
Azzi smirked. “I’ll give you at least three. You probably say ‘I don’t know’ more than anyone I’ve ever met.”
Paige’s lips twitched as she crossed her arms over her chest. “You say ‘I don’t know’ just as much as I do. Don’t act like I’m the only one with the habit.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “I do not.”
Paige grinned. “You literally said ‘I don’t know’ like five times today before noon.”
Azzi rolled her eyes again, though it was clear she was trying not to laugh. “Okay, maybe once or twice,” she conceded, but then pointed at Paige, “But that’s because you’re always asking me impossible questions.”
Paige laughed fully. “Impossible questions? I ask things like, ‘How’s your day?’”
Azzi raised her hand in mock surrender. “Fine, I’m outnumbered.”
Paige smiled, her eyes warm with affection. “Yeah, you are.”
Azzi's phone rang from the nightstand next to the bed, interrupting their playful exchange. She glanced at the screen, letting it ring a few times.
“You gonna get that?” Paige asked with a smirk.
Azzi rolled her eyes but picked up her phone. “I was about to, if you give me a second.”
As Azzi answered, Caroline’s voice instantly filled the room, loud and clear. “Stop having sex with the recruit and come back to the room. CD’s having room checks soon.”
Azzi let out a laugh. “If I was having sex, I wouldn’t have answered the phone, babe.”
Caroline’s voice came back with a sigh. “Whatever. You’ve got like fifteen minutes.”
Azzi sighed, glancing at Paige as she responded, “Okay, bye,” before hanging up. She tossed the phone onto the nightstand, her expression now amused as she met Paige’s gaze.
Paige’s eyebrows were shot up in disbelief. “Sex with the recruit?”
Azzi gave her a pointed look, rolling her eyes. “Shut up.”
Paige stood up, slipping on her Ugg Tasman slippers. “Come on, let’s get you back,” she said, glancing over at Azzi.
“You don’t need to walk me to my room.”
Paige shrugged casually, her usual nonchalance apparent. “I don’t mind.”
Azzi pushed herself off the bed, and as she reached for her phone, Paige grabbed her phone and keycard. The two of them walked out of the room, moving silently down the hall.
The walk to the elevator wasn’t awkward—just quiet. Azzi was lost in her thoughts, her mind drifting to places she hadn’t quite sorted through yet regarding the game.
Once inside the elevator, Paige leaned her head back against the wall, closing her eyes. The hum of the elevator made the moment feel peaceful, a brief pause in their whirlwind of thoughts.
It was then that Azzi finally spoke, her voice soft but laced with concern. “Are you okay?”
Paige opened her eyes slowly, tilting her head slightly toward Azzi. She nodded, the motion small.
Azzi watched Paige as they stepped out of the elevator and began walking down the hall toward her room. She raised an eyebrow, noting the quiet shift in Paige’s energy. “Why’d you get all quiet on me?”
Paige glanced at her, a faint smirk pulling at her lips. “I didn’t. I was just letting you think.”
Azzi chuckled softly, shaking her head. “Right.”
When they reached Azzi’s door, she leaned casually against the wall, her arms crossed. Paige stood in front of her, looking down the hallway for a moment before meeting Azzi’s gaze.
Azzi hesitated, then said, “I probably won’t see you for a while.”
Paige nodded, not offering much else. Azzi studied her, noticing the subtle shift in her posture. “You did get quiet on me. What’s up?”
Paige shook her head. “Nothing. I’m good.”
Azzi gave her a pointed look, not buying it. “You sure about that?”
Paige sighed, looking down at her shoes for a moment before meeting Azzi’s eyes. “I’m just gonna miss you.”
Azzi softened at the admission. “Keep going,” she said quietly, sensing there was more to it.
Paige hesitated, biting the inside of her cheek. “It’s just—my thoughts are a lot quieter when you’re around, for some reason. It’s just a little jarring going back to that after you leave.”
Azzi’s expression softened as she let out a small pout, tugging on Paige’s shirt, pulling her closer. “You know, you make it hard to leave when you say things like that.”
Paige chuckled softly, a sheepish smile on her lips. “My bad.”
Azzi couldn’t help but smile at the unnecessary apology, her heart softening a little. “Come here.”
Paige hesitated for only a moment before stepping closer, the space between them closing. As soon as she was near enough, Azzi reached out, pulling Paige in by the waist to connect their lips.
The moment their lips met, Azzi felt Paige’s tense jaw, the tension still lingering in her. Azzi gently traced her finger along the curve of Paige’s jaw, coaxing her to relax. Paige let out a soft sigh, her body responding as she melted into the kiss, her hands coming to wrap around Azzi pulling her closer.
They stayed like that for several minutes, the world outside disappearing as they simply focused on the feeling of being with each other in the hallway. When Paige finally pulled back, her breath uneven, she murmured quietly, “Thank you.”
Azzi chuckled, brushing a strand of hair behind Paige’s ear. “You don’t need to thank me for that.”
The two of them lingered close, their foreheads nearly touching as they just savored the moment in silence, comfortable in each other’s presence. Eventually, Paige stepped back, putting her hands in her pockets, though Azzi noticed how her fingers absently toyed with the ring on her finger.
Azzi laughed softly, shaking her head. “You’re cute sometimes.”
Paige glanced at her with a playful smirk. “Thanks.”
Azzi turned toward the door, her hand moving to unlock it. "I’ll call you tomorrow," she said, her voice carrying the same familiarity that made everything feel a little more comfortable.
Paige nodded, her gaze softening. "Okay," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
The brief silence between them lingered as Azzi slowly pushed the door open, stepping inside. She paused for a moment, eyes meeting Paige's one last time, before closing it behind her. Paige remained where she stood, her expression lingering. The soft click of the door locking was the only sound that followed, leaving Paige standing in the hallway for just a moment longer before she turned to walk away.

"Do you have some time? I could use some help."
Tommy tips his head back against the side wall of the hangar, stares at the rafters, tracks the flight of a starling through the beams. "Not sure I can steal a third helicopter in a little over a calendar year without some consequences," he murmurs, because the sound of Evan's voice is still ringing in his ears and he's fairly certain he'd accept those consequences without blinking, if it came down to it.
Evan's sharp burst of laughter sounds brittle, stale.
"No, I uh - actually I could use some advice?"
Tommy pushes himself up from the overly casual lean. "I'm all ears."
"You're mostly nose and cheekbones, actually," Evan says, that lilt to his voice teetering on dangerous ground for just a moment before he clears his throat.
In the entirety of the six months they were together Tommy heard about thirty individual stories about the times Evan went to someone for advice. About work, about his personal life, about the barista at his local who might have had a personal vendetta against leggy brunettes.
Tommy'd considered it an ill omen that he never made the roster.
"I just, um. I just got off the phone with Chief Simpson?"
Tommy wishes he was there. Sitting next to him, across the room from him, on the other side of a window just looking at him. He sounds - small.
"He's not disciplining you, is he? Because I know a union rep who -."
Evan cuts him off. "He just offered me the 118."
Tommy swallows. Tommy mulls the words over. Tommy tries to think of a delicate way to ask if the rumor that Hen turned it down is true, then.
"And how are you...feeling about that?"
Tommy will be perpetually in Evan Buckley's corner, he knows. From a distance or up close and personal, Tommy will always, always want the best for him.
He's so fucking young. He's lived so many lives at this point Tommy imagines he must sometimes feel ancient, trapped in a body and a mind that hasn't quite caught up to his soul.
Tommy knows he's thought about it, before. Taking on that role, using the skill set Bobby taught him to make another house into a home. But he'd likely never thought about it in the context of not having Bobby a phone call away. Certainly never thought about replacing Bobby.
"I don't - I don't know. How I'm - how I'm feeling. It's - I just - I want -."
Tommy checks the time. Watches the starling flit across the ceiling towards the nest Donato had threatened to beat them all about when they mentioned trying to find a way to dislodge it. Twenty-seven minutes until the end of his shift. His replacement is already here, fucking around in the weight room, bag already stuffed in his locker and flight suit already laid out on the bench because Goggins has zero respect for anyone else who might need the locker room. Melton won't mind if he takes off early. Might even be pleased to shave two hours and twenty seven minutes of OT off the books when Tommy asks if he can leave, instead of staying late. "Do you want to meet up, somewhere?"
"I... Tommy." He's not sure what his name means, sounding like that, in this particular context.
"Wherever you want. I can be almost anywhere in an hour or less. This just feels like something you might need to wrap your head around for a minute and -." He has to be vulnerable, here. In a way he fucking hates. "And it sounds like you could use a hug. I'd - I'd like to give you a hug."
Evan had never exactly been precious, about how much he craved the casual touches as much as the intimate ones.
He has to wonder who got bumped, to make Evan call him. Why not Howie, Hen, Maddie, Eddie?
"Are - are you serious?"
"As a car crash. Time and place and I'll be there."
Hopefully it won't actually require him to steal another bird to make it happen, but he'd do it, no questions asked.
"Is it out of order to suggest your place?"
Tommy can feel his brows quirking. Is Eddie still in town? Why the hell isn't Evan going to him with this?
"It's incredibly convenient for me, actually."
It's short work to let him know about how long it'll be, that he doesn't need to bring anything ("Evan, I'm serious, just be safe getting there."), to start his search for Melton. He's halfway through a rushed goodbye when Evan blows out a breath.
"Thank you, Tommy."
It's unnecessary, but it hits him right in the sternum. He'd never needed the thanks, actually preferred most of the time to have the things he does for other people go unacknowledged - thanks for that one, dad - but the tenor of Evan's voice, the tremble on his name, makes Tommy want to break the speed barrier to get to him.
Fuck.
He's never shaking loose from this one.
"Hey, you call, I come."
It feels like glass scraping it's way up his throat and out of his mouth. It feels like the type of confession he can't take back.
"I...same. Just so you know."
He hadn't known that. It's...terrifying.
"I'll see you soon, Evan.*
He still sounds small, as he says goodbye.
Tommy would fight the whole damn world to never have to hear his voice sound like that again. Best he can manage now is making his way home as quick as possible.
Maybe it'll be enough.
Maybe.

Soo uhhh ahem what about König refusing to put his big ass fucking horse cock in you; just rubbing the length up and down between your pussy lips, feeling you get wetter and wetter as he rubs your clit with the head of his dick, never putting it in.
ughhh könig for sure sometimes just doesn't put it in.
gn!afab!reader, pussyjob <3
imagine he comes home late one night, he had a long fuckin day. his flight was delayed due to weather and he was exhausted and annoyed.
he gets himself cleaned up and crawls into bed and it's late — nearing on 4am when he finally get his head on the pillow. he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into his arms.
even as he closes his eyes and tries to sleep, you start to squirm and press little kisses against him. he knows you're happy to have him home but he's so tired that he can't even open his eyes.
but you start pawing at him and he can feel your tits pressed against his chest and his cock starts to chin up against his thigh. that finally get his eyes open and he can see the wide-eyed way you stare up at him.
before you know it, you're on your back a stripped naked with him broad form looming above you.
you look so sweet and precious, spread out all for him, wet and needy with the way you grope and squeeze your own tits.
"please, want your cock," you beg him, reaching down to grip the base of him, trying to prod the tip into your entrance.
but he bats your hand away and clicks his tongue.
"you know better, liebling," he chastises, "you don't get my cock without prep."
"then do it," you whine, so damn greedy that it makes his heavy length twitch.
"not tonight, little one," he coos, scooting himself forward so his cock rests against your folds.
you whimper in disappointment but it's drowned out by the little gasp when he rocks his hips, thick girth splitting your sticky folds apart, allowing him to stroke over your drooling entrance and hardened clit.
all argument is lost on you as your head falls back against the pillow, keeping your legs nice and spread for him to hump his cock against you. he wraps his hand around himself and meanly taps the head against your little clit, smirking when the action makes your legs twitch.
you're getting wetter and wetter, the sticky, wet clicking sounds of him grinding against you.
your breathing picks up and you're once again groping your own tits, pinching your nipples and moaning so sweetly for him.
"könig, i want your cock so bad," you complain again, tho it has no heat as you moan when he strokes perfectly over your clit again.
"i know, liebling," he pants, "you will have me tomorrow. tonight, just be good and take what i give you."

svt as your baby daddies | maknae line (pt. 2)
you are back from your work trip!

°⨳°·..·°⨳°⊹٭ seokmin ٭⊹°⨳°·..·°⨳° (part 1 here)
When your boss told you that you had efficiently finished your work earlier, and that she was even going to pay the fee so you could get on your flight a day in advance, you almost hugged her.
You had decided not to tell your husband so you could surprise your family.
As it was pretty early in the morning when you got back to Seoul, you resolved to get breakfast as well. A few blocks from your home, there was this bakery your daughter absolutely loved, so you got some sweet treats for your favorite people in the whole world.
An instant after opening the door, your mouth fell open. The mess of toys around the living room was a sight you have never had the pleasure of seeing. You knew your daughter to be pretty active when it came to her playing activities, but this was something different — it seemed like Seokmin had decided to put all of her toys in one place so she could easily grab them without whining for one of them. Honestly… you couldn’t blame him.
Trying to dodge as many objects as possible, especially those evil looking legos, you made your way towards the kitchen and prepared the table so breakfast looked homey and delicious. Needing a quick shower before anything else, you walked upstairs to your room, which was suspiciously empty, bed done and all. You shrugged, knowing your husband better than anyone else, he would be in one place and one place only.
Fresh out of the shower, you headed to Kimmy’s bedroom. And what you saw almost made you tear up.
Seokmin was a big man for that tiny crib, but yet he still had managed to pull the barrier down and sleep the night with his toddler clung to his arm, half of his body pretty much touching the floor.
Kimmy was the first one to move, and when you got closer and was able to see you, she sleepily sat up and made grabby hands at you, her pacifier still attached to her mouth.
“Hello my baby girl” you cooed at her, taking her from the crib and smelling her baby scent. “Oh, I missed you” you hugged her softly, and she placed her head on your shoulder.
The movement had finally woken your husband up, and the moment he saw you standing by his side, he almost fell to the floor. “What?!” he yelled, too loud for your liking.
“Surprise!” you giggled, feeling small as he engulfed you in a tight family hug.
“I was going mad without you” Seok kissed your forehead and you returned it, on his lips. “Please keep surprising me like this”
“I’ll work hard” you smiled, finally feeling complete.

¸.·✩·.¸¸.·¯⍣✩ mingyu ✩⍣¯·.¸¸.·✩·.¸ (part 1 here)
You parked your car on your driveway not expecting your family to be back home. You knew that Mingyu was busy shooting for Calvin Klein, and he had dropped Minha off with his sister. He usually took quite some time with those schedules, so when you saw him standing on the porch with your daughter in his arms, your eyes lit up.
“My babies!” you jumped out of the car seat, running to your family and hugging them with all the love you had been saving for them.
“Momma's back baby!” your husband kissed her cheek and after looking at you like you were the most precious woman in the world, he leaned in to kiss your lips.
“Yuck daddy!” Minha took both of your chins with her small hands and pushed you away from each other.
“But I missed mommy!” Mingyu pouted “I can kiss her because she is my wife”
“But she is my mommy!”
“Okay you two, there’s mommy for everyone” you giggled, taking your daughter from Mingyu’s arms and peppering her chubby cheeks with kisses “Did you have fun with auntie?”
“Yeah! She bought me a new Barbie doll!” and with that, she wiggled herself out of your hold to run inside and get her new acquisition.
“Finally” Mingyu sighed, and with the biggest dorky smile, took you by the waist and kissed you properly. “Just like when we were dating” he murmured against your lips.
“We kiss like that all the time, dummy” you chuckled, embracing him back and caressing his lower back with your fingernails.
“Not when missy is around” he pouted, taking a strand of hair out of your face. “She’s a jealous fellow”
You knew your daughter to be very protective of the relationship she had with your husband on the one hand, and with you on the other. She liked you being together, but when the attention was not on her, things got complicated.
“When should we tell Minnnie?” you looked up at him, and he instinctively placed a hand on your tummy. “It’s about to start showing”
Before answering anything else, Mingyu made sure your daughter was still out of sight and kneeled down to say hi to his unborn baby “Hi my angel, it’s daddy. Hope you treated mommy well these days” after kissing your belly over the fabric of your dress, he stood back up and brought you back to his hold. “Maybe next week? We could get her something and tell her that her new brother or sister sent it”
“You’re a smartass”
“Apart from handsome, may I add”
Minhee crossed the door frame with a bunch of Barbie dolls and started playing with them in the front yard, totally ignoring her lovebird parents — another sign of how annoyed she was at not being the center of attention.
“Missy’s haircut looks better now”
“See?” Gyu leaned back down and kissed your nose. “You were being too picky!”
“You took her to another hair salon, didn’t you?” When he let you go and headed towards your car to get your suitcase out, you had to laugh. “Don’t run away from me Kim Mingyu! I know you better than myself!”

¸„٭⊹✡•~⍣°”ˆ˜¨ minghao ¨˜ˆ”°⍣~•✡⊹٭„¸ (part 1 here)
You tried your best to look as airportfashionable as possible because you knew that Minghao always checked you out — and this time you wanted to earn the compliment. He could be too good to you sometimes.
It was nothing out of your style though, but you made a little effort to choose the best one that could still be comfortable for an eight hour long flight.
As tired as you were, seeing your family waiting for you hand in hand gave you back the energy to run to them and hug them tightly.
“Mommy!” Lian jumped up and down, embracing your legs and looking up to you. You failed to see the heart eyes she was giving you as you kissed your husband’s cheek. “I made you a drawing!”
As soon as you kneeled down to her height, she proudly showed it to you. It was a crayon drawing of your little family — she was in between you and Hao, hand in hand, and on the sky there was a big rainbow with “My family” written in three languages — Mandarin, Korean and English.
“That’s an incredible drawing, baby” you squished her cheeks and after kissing her forehead, you hugged her with all your might.
“Oh? Babe please stand up” you heard Hao tapping your shoulder.
“Yessir” rapidly understanding why he had asked you to do that, you stood back up and twirled. “You like it?”
“And you tell me you don’t know how to dress yourself up?” he took you from the waist and shook his head, giving you a soft smile “You are too mean to you sometimes, love”
“I’m sorry but you outdo my efforts every time! I have to try a little harder to impress you” you shrugged, taking his cheeks with your hands and pecking his lips.
“Let’s go home, huh?” Minghao giggled, taking your hand and grabbing your bag with the other. “Liannie, take mommy’s hand, it’s too crowded”
Your obedient daughter followed her father’s instructions, and you watched with delight as she skipped and sang with happiness. “Did you choose your outfit today?” you asked her, admiring her summer flowery dress matched with the flower laces on her hair.
“I did, but daddy helped me with the hair!”
“The hair too?” you opened your eyes to show your surprise, and when your husband’s cheeks tinted a soft shade of pink, you had to give a fake disappointed sigh “I leave for two days and my husband replaces me so easily”
“Don’t you dare!” he let go of the hold on your hand and tickled you on the side “No one replaces my wifey.”

٭⊹¤.•⨳•.☆✬ seungkwan ✬☆.•⨳•.¤⊹٭ (part 1 here)
Your home was unbelievably quiet for a Friday night. You knew Taehun liked to sleep early, so you assumed Seungkwan had joined him — by how hard single parenting had been for him, you couldn’t blame him for falling asleep as soon as his child did.
You left your bags before tiptoeing your way into Taehun’s room, but you didn’t even have to reach the door when you heard father and son discussing very important business.
“... to shower everyday?” your son’s voice was heard, a curious cutesy tone.
“Because,” your husband started “you don’t want to be smelly when you play with your friends”
“Or when mama arrives”
Kwan let out a sigh and you had to hold your laugh. Taehun was really talking about you every second of the waking day.
“Mhm. She would be very upset if you hugged her all dirty”
“Would you be upset if I hugged you all dirty?”
“Of course I would. We are a clean family, Taehun-ah”
“Will I ever have a brother?” The randomness of the questions were adorable and concerning at the same time, but coming from a Boo, it was nothing that could surprise you.
He had asked a couple of times before, especially after your sister had her second child, but you had tried to brush it off. Your and Seungkwan’s schedules were hard to deal with already on their own, and after Tae arrived to the world you had been juggling with work, family, and husband-wife time. However, you had never discussed it with Kwan, so before you interrupted their little moment, you had to hear his answer.
“You know how hard it is for mama and I to be with you all the time, mhm?” he explained with that father tone you loved “Another baby is a biiiig responsibility. We have to find more time to care for him or her”
“But papa, I can help!” you had to put your hand on your mouth to silence your enamoured gasp. That kid was all you had ever wished for.
“I know, baby” Kwan laughed, “If it were up to me, I would have ten kids with mommy”
“That’s a lot,” Taehun whined, not really liking the answer. “But mama is the best mommy.”
“I’m sorry, who’s the best?” you couldn’t handle it anymore, so as soon as you came in, two pairs of arms engulfed you in the most awaited hug.
“Mommy!”
“Hi honey” Seungkwan had a shine in his eyes that you had so much missed. Before taking Tae from the floor, he gave you a kiss and whispered his ultimate favorite words to tell you. “The love of my life”
The way he always had heart eyes for you melted your heart. “I love you” you answered, and turned to your son “Did you shower, little bean?”
“I smell fresh and clean just for you, mama!”

·.★·.·´¯·.·★ hansol ★·.·´¯·.·★.· (part 1 here)
Hansol had texted you the day before that he would be busy recording some content with the guys, and your father, the only other person who could have picked you up, was on holiday — so you had to go back home on your own. You quickly decided to head to the taxi area, too tired to wait for the bus.
When you stepped out, a cold breeze hit you, and you hugged yourself to wait in the line of people. You were too concentrated on watching the taxis come and go, timing them so you could calculate how much you’d have to wait, that you didn’t notice when a man stood up from a nearby bench and positioned himself next to you, hiding his face behind a flower bouquet.
You glared at him when you finally saw him, and not only after having lowered the flower arrangement down to his nose, did you realise who that was.
“What the hell” you chuckled, taking the bouquet from his hands and eagerly accepting the hug he engulfed you in.
“Welcome back honey” he giggled, picking you up from the floor in the process.
“Why did you lie?” you asked, and as soon as he released you from his tight grip you faced him. Oh, how much you had missed your husband’s face.
“Because,” he started, taking a strand of hair out of your face. “It’s been a while since I last gave you a surprise. Or bought you flowers”
“Is this because I finally gave in and bought you that keychain?” you raised an eyebrow.
“It might” he teased, and after pressing a shy kiss to your lips, he sighed “Nah. It’s because I love you”
“Oh wow, I may have to leave you guys more often. You were calling me boring two days ago and now I get all this praise” your mouth curved into a smile.
“I want to make sure you get the complete Hansol package” he nodded, taking your hand and your suitcase with the other, leading you back to the parking lot. “And Myeon is on a school trip to the museum, so I still have a few hours to provide you with the real full package” he wiggled his eyebrows.
“I like the sound of that” you giggled, “You do deserve that keychain”
“Getting you as my gift is enough”
“Oh my God, my husband, the Last Romantic”
“Don’t forget that when I call you boring and send you even more boring selfies”

`✵•.¸,✵°✵.。.✰ chan ✰.。.✵°✵,¸.•✵´ (part 1 here)
Chan was a fast man, but that night he was three times faster than usual. You weren’t even able to pass the last security check when you noticed a man waving both of his hands to your direction, then picking up your son and having him wave at you as well.
“You have a beautiful family, dear” the old woman that was waiting in line in front of you gave you a polite smile, and you gave her a small bow.
“Thank you ma’am, I really do” you smiled, feeling the anticipation of having both of your boys back in your arms after three days.
“Look! That’s eomma right there!” After getting all your stuff screened, you picked it from the moving platform and headed their way.
“Hello my beautiful boys!” you took Seojoon from your husband's arms and kissed his cheeks, your favorite activity as his mama. “How’s my little baby?”
“Eomma” and just like that, he started crying, clinging to you like a baby koala.
“I would cry too if I wasn’t a grown man” your husband shrugged, joining the hug and kissing your forehead multiple times. “How’s my baby?”
“Tired” you admitted, “but extremely happy to see you both”
“Let’s get you home then, we can order dinner and cuddle the rest of the night” Chan nodded, reassuring you. You smiled and tiptoed just a little to peck his lips.
“Thank you, appa”
Before finally getting started with your trip back home, your little personal koala had a hard time letting you go. “Baby, you need to sit in your chair.” you caressed the back of his head, looking at Chan with a desperate expression.
“Joonie, will you be okay if mommy sits next to you?”
“No!” he whined, hiding his face on your neck, avoiding his father’s gaze.
“Lovie” you sighed “It’s just a short ride. As soon as we get home, you will cuddle eomma and appa as much as you want”
“No! I want eomma now!”
“Okay” Chan moved to open the passenger seat’s door and took the one and only item that could make your son hesitate a little from the glove compartment. “Do you want your banana milk?”
The magic words worked with ease — he lifted his head and looked at his father like he held the universe in his hands. When he nodded, you quickly followed the plan. “If you let go of mommy and you sit in your chair, then you can have it” his slight nod was answer enough for you to hurry and proceed with solving the issue.
“He really is the banana milk guy”
And as much as you hated that nickname, that night you couldn’t help but agree with your husband. You were raising a banana milk enthusiast.

Yes, no, maybe so? – Sylus
P: Sylus x gender neutral reader | G: angst, hurt/comfort, drabble | Inc: nightmares, Sylus having nightmares, Sylus' pov, that night where MC shot him, a reversal au (kinda), implied work trips, a lot of hurt and some comfort as a treat, a much needed cuddle at the end | Wc: 1.15k | W: blood, nightmares, gun mention | R: G
Min's notes: Look I said I like giving the LIs angst, aight? And this idea's been rattling in my head for a good month now. Enjoy <3
Sylus isn’t sure how he ended up here. Between endless business meetings and clearing up loose ends, the hallways surrounding him should be familiar, be somewhere he’s more than used to. But they’re not. His already irregular heartbeat trembles, a cloying, uncomfortable blend of fear and trepidation clogging the back of his throat, forcing him to stay silent as each step brings him closer to his supposed destination. Where’s he even walking to? In all his years building a name for himself, what could possibly have him trembling like this?
And where’s y/n?
Y/n’s supposed to be coming back from their overseas mission tonight, their flight in particular tracked on his phone just so Sylus can be there on time to pick them up. It’s been several—three—torturous weeks without his beloved’s presence, phone calls and texts barely making up for the lack of a certain hunter at home and in his arms. Sure, Sylus could have coincidentally found himself there and kept an eye on y/n from a distance, but he’s already promised y/n that he’ll wait for them to arrive.
He's never broken a promise made to his beloved, and he doesn’t intend to start doing so now.
So lost in thought as he walks, that Sylus freezes the moment he hears laughter so familiar that it hurts. It tears him out of the confines of his mind, forces him to take in the scene facing him with growing horror. A growing horror as Sylus recognises what it is exactly that he’s looking at.
Y/n sits in a chair—no, a throne—regarding him with dangerously amused indifference, one of Sylus’ weapons resting precariously in their lap. Their smile is a precious thing, something Sylus covets for himself like the selfish dragon he once was. But not this. Not the cruel, calculating expression wearing his beloved’s face.
“What is all of this?” He asks, quiet against the ringing in his ears. “Sweetheart... what are you doing?”
Y/n doesn't answer him, doesn't grant Sylus anything more than the upturn of their lips and a short huff. Like they never even heard him, and whatever his beloved is reacting to has nothing to do with the words that spill out of his mouth. He wants to reach out, hold them close and ask, no, plead for them to stop entire charade. Instead, his body moves on its own, a puppet on strings he can’t see, slave to a force he can’t reason with.
Vitriol pours out of his mouth; accusations of murder Sylus knows to be false. False because y/n would never kill in cold blood. Where his hands are stained red frequently, he can count on one hand the amount of times y/n has willingly joined him in staining their hands with human blood.
So why? Why is he saying all of this?
He blinks again, and Sylus wants to be sick, hands shaking as he’s stood over y/n. Holding firearms usually comes so naturally, a comfortable weight on a normal day, but not this. Anything but this, where y/n wears his smirk, pulling him closer until his hulking form encompasses them on the chair. The barrel of the gun presses against their chest, and this time Sylus doesn’t stop himself from begging.
“Sweetheart, kitten, please,” he chokes out, pulling his hand away only for y/n to yank it right back. He’s sure he still has his Evol, nestled away in the depths of his shared soul, but it’s not listening to him. Not obeying his desire to stop this. “Don’t make me do this to you, anyone else but you.”
“Why? Do you need help?” Y/n coos, wrapping their hand around the gun and pressing Sylus’ finger on the trigger, teasing it the very same way he did months ago.
A mistake, it was a mistake. I misjudged, please, forgive me.
“Go on, shall I help you? Yes, no, maybe so?”
His words. Those were his words. Oh, Sylus really feels sick now. Understanding hits him in waves, drowning him in the truth of the current situation. How could he possibly forget? How dare he forget the way he first treated his beloved back then; still stuck in the delusion that they remembered the past the two of them shared? Everyday, he’s tried to make amends, apologise for his brutish desperation in the face of their reunion. And y/n, sweet, precious y/n, they’ve forgiven his sins time and time again.
But Sylus can’t forgive himself, not when his actions hurt the love of his life in ways he could never fathom. He feels it now, he assumes; the dread, fear, concealed fury that that threatens to burst the seams of self-control. All the emotions his beloved—
The gun goes off.
“No, no, no— shit, my love, no.” Sylus cries, flinging the weapon aside to who knows where in favour of stemming the flow of blood. There’s so much, spilling past his fingers and drenching their shirt. It fills his mouth, cloying in the back of his throat, drowning his senses. Desperation digs its claws into him like he’s never felt before, pushing at him to fix this, cursing Sylus for being able to stop all of this blood from spilling.
Y/n’s eyes have lost their glow, yet their voice echoes, a mockery of his failure. His futile attempt at trying to outrun fate.
“Sylus?
It hurts, twists and squeezes his heart until it cracks.
“Sylus, love? C’mon, please, you need to wake up.”
How can he wake up, when they won’t be there in his arms?
“Sy—”
Y/n’s eyes are warm as Sylus bolts upright, warm and concerned and not at all lifeless as they search his face. His chest heaves, too hesitant to check his hands for what Sylus is too scared to even think of. But he doesn’t need to, his beloved bringing his hands to their face, miraculously blood-free. It doesn’t make sense, he felt the gun go off, felt the blood seep through his fingers.
“Darling, I— I don’t understand…”
“It was a nightmare, Sy,” y/n answers, a soothing balm to the terror in his chest. “You’re here, with me, I promise. Whatever it was, it won’t hurt you.”
Sylus almost wants to refute their claims, make a case for why that particular nightmare will never truly leave him, but he says nothing. Instead, he basks in their embrace, pulling y/n flush against his chest so he can feel their heartbeat and breathing in their scent until it overpowers the blood he swears he can still taste on the back of his tongue.
“…feeling any better?” They ask, and Sylus’ heart grows more than he thought possible. God, they’re just so sweet.
“Now that I’m sure you’re in my arms, I am.” As long as y/n’s with him, no matter where the two of them are, Sylus’ heat will always be whole. “Thank you for comforting me, my heart.”
“Anytime.”

"Now and forever." Daryl Dixon Imagine.
Summary: Your life together is paused with a fight a few hours before the dead start walking, and it forces you two to embark on a journey through that new world apart until Daryl and you reunite with the fall of Woodbury.
A/N: Hi. Obviously this story is way different from the storyline with the Governor, and I wanna clarify that nothing happens to Maggie here :( I had to include Merle. I want to believe that he could be good, although I think I'll do a second part 'cause the interaction between Daryl and you is really little, just because I wanted to write something. It's 6 in the morning and I have to get up at 8 so second part soon! I hope you like it. And we're launching a new nickname from Daryl!♥

“At some point a sorry ain’t gonna be enough.”
You always hated the comparison, but in your mind, you knew Daryl Dixon was fire behind his cold apathy—warm, passionate when he wanted, protective, yet dangerous, with the ability to burn down everything in his path—that's why, aware of his own power, Daryl always lived without emotions, without freedom, flying solo so as not to unleash his true nature and turn everything to ashes. You were always a flight risk, you felt everything too much, but you were always the light—never the shadow—of a loving military father who died fighting before the end of the world. And alone, you left home, taking his memory and his gun hidden in your waistband with you, landing in that seedy bar forgotten by God himself, where the ex–military man and owner—the person who sacrificed himself for you that night—took you in like a daughter, offering you a job that helped keep you on your feet, right in the place where you met the charming Merle, and his baby brother, the young Daryl Dixon.
Dirty, his sleeveless shirt always bearing a grease stain from the repair shop where he worked, intimidating even without saying a word, but his motorcycle was the perfect, perpetual example of the bad boy, the one who made bad decisions, with a tragic past and the physical and emotional wounds to prove it.
However, without any attempt at seduction, with that spark of fire in his serious gaze and a ray of light in yours, it became common between you two to spend the night together where everything was intense, somewhat sweaty, but less heavy, less lonely, less sad when you started talking and laughing and Daryl began to open up. And from never having anything, Daryl went to feeling full, complete, to feeling like he had everything—although always harboring that thought in the back of his head that at some point he would ruin it all—and boy, he did. Feeling that ridiculous sensation of falling deeply in love was overwhelming at first, difficult to digest and accept, until Daryl Dixon knew in his rusty heart that you would always be the only one, that there would be no one after you, ever. Now, and forever.
The idea of marriage was always something distant and foreign to you, until you felt the ring on your finger and someone in your circle mentioned your new last name. Everything stayed the same for a long, long time, but it was also like living in an eternal honeymoon, without overwhelming emotions, only peace in your worlds that had once been fractured by the pain of the past.
Life was good, never ordinary and even fun.
“Hey, asshole! Dinner is ready!”
“Fuck ya!” Merle's voice echoes through the place, and you laugh quietly as you wait at the beginning of the hallway that connects to the kitchen, looking down the hall toward the place where Merle lived, his own kingdom, as he called it, the only place you hadn't managed to invade, as he used to say with a snort. “I’ll be there!”
You let out a chuckle as you turn around to go back to the small kitchen, where Daryl, standing at the counter next to the sink, looks at you with his usual serious disapproval.
“How long will ya do that?”
“Oh, come on. Please don’t take away the only fun I get from living with your precious brother.”
You return your attention to the vegetables on the cutting board as Daryl hums a response, not entirely in agreement with the twisted and strange relationship you'd formed with his brother. But as his body presses against yours from behind, with playful hands around your waist and his forehead on your exposed neck, you know that those displays of affection always came laced with love, replacing the words Daryl was still clumsy with.
"Ya two disgust me." Merle makes a monumental effort not to spit on the floor when he appears to sit in one of the dining room chairs, making you roll your eyes as Daryl pulls away from you. "At least got the decency to lemme know if yer gonna make porn in the kitchen."
Daryl lets out a low grunt without saying anything, having learned to ignore him, the only way to stop the fire before it spread.
"Make porn?" You wrinkle your nose. “The only porn in this house is the one you watch every day: one day your hand will fall off.”
Both of you knew the path opened up for the endless sexually charged jokes he could make, but Merle chuckles, letting the opportunity pass. As the midnight winds down, Daryl’s hand rests almost lazily on one of your legs on the couch, gazes focused on the TV as his brother strolls through the house on his way to a day that’s just beginning for him.
“M' leavin'. Don’ wait up for me.”
Daryl doesn’t even bother to look at him, his voice flat.
“No one does.”
You chuckle as a blank expression spreads across the elder Dixon’s face, but Merle still hadn’t learned to let things go.
“Yer so sweet ya make me wanna throw up.” Part of him meant it, though in his tin–hearted heart as you used to call it, he cared enough for his brother, and you. “But when ya got yer first kid, do sum right for once and name it after me.”
“I’d kill myself first.”
Merle’s laughter echoes in the room until he leaves. But there, that thought was settled, like a cloud heavy with rain, wondering if there would ever be kids, but it was all a matter of perspective; you either loved the rain or hated it.
“Do you want to make porn in the kitchen?”
Daryl chuckles, and happiness fills his blue eyes in a second. He was happy, completely, like he'd never been in his life. But it was the little unresolved issues that piled up, his inability to speak properly when friction arose between you two, his destructive fears, the enemy that lurked in his thoughts, your own insecurities: all of them brought fire and brimstone to a home that seemed indestructible.
"So what the fuck keeps ya here then? The fuckin’ door's right there if ya wanna leave so badly!"
You didn't even remember why you two started fighting in the first place. Maybe it was the unspoken things, the misunderstandings, the challenge in his voice for you to be the one to end it all because Daryl knew he wouldn't be able to, the intensity of his emotions, or how quickly you could walk away with a cold stare and empty, tearless eyes. The silence is deafening until your sigh fills the room, nodding before heading for the door.
"Someday, a sorry ain't gonna be enough, Daryl, if you're even capable of saying it for the first time in your life."
You leave, and he doesn't try to follow, too proud to trample his manhood with a plea, a pride that was built in him with merciless fists that collided with his body until it forged a single thought in his mind, a cursed memory of his parents burned into his head, an unbreakable rule: men don't say sorry, they don't say please, men don't cry or beg.
Sadly, the city turned into hell that night, in just a couple of hours. The chaos, the groans, the police sirens, the gunshots, the cries for help and the excruciating pain. The phone left on your nightstand burned the bridge path behind you, forcing you to continue only forward, alone again. However, the desolation of the world ended for you when a community appeared, suspiciously perfect, like a cruel illusion in the desert when you're one step away from perishing: Woodbury. They had a system, hierarchies, and even order, but one day, on your way to work as a doctor's assistant, a voice caught your attention while it froze your heart.
“Fuck. Me. Right. Now... ain't ya ma lil' brotha's bunny.” The looks on both of your faces are equally incredulous, always underestimating each other's fervent desire to survive, even if you two cared for each other. “I thought ya'd be underground by now, darlin'. Or ya'd be a walker's lunch.”
“I'd never give you that satisfaction, asshole.” A sarcastic smile appears on your lips, and your gaze rests on the memory of what had once been his hand, raising an eyebrow. “I see your hand finally fell off like I told you. I warned you, didn't I?”
Merle Dixon hated the crumbs of pity to the point of repulsion and anger, but he found none in your sincere gaze, with you relieved to see that at least he was still alive, and a genuine smile spread across his own lips.
But everything always felt unstable, like walking through a landmine, almost waiting for it all to explode—until eventually it all did after a while, when two women walked through the front door during a heavy night, but towards opposite directions. One blonde headed to the governor's room, while the green–eyed woman was forced to exist in a cell, unaware of the other's existence. No one was supposed to know about her, but the young woman became a poorly kept secret that shattered your calm when you snuck in and she asked for a shred of your sympathy, ultimately uttering a name you thought you'd never hear again, just to show you she had a family.
“We need to get out of this fucking place now, Merle.” Your voice sounds impatient and scared, almost like your racing heart that you can't stop.
He stops walking around the little room of the house.
“Not as fast as ya did when ya left ma brotha.” Merle laughs, but without a hint of fun.
“You have the intelligence and empathy of a fucking rock, stupid asshole.” You let out a sigh, almost in resignation. “I'm not going to leave a woman at the mercy of a sick person. Doesn’t matter that he helped me. Either I'll get her out of there or at least I'll die trying.”
“Hey. Thanks for mentionin' yer dyin' to see ma lil' brotha.” Merle laughs again, wistfully this time when he sees you have the same expression. “'kay. I'll help. How ya wanna do this, honey?”
You swallow, fighting the lump in your throat.
“That woman, Andrea, do you think she can be trusted?”
The darkness of the following night deepened until the dawn began to claim its place, and the colors of the fire spread across every corner of that community, disappearing into the empty sky, bullets whizzing by until everything returned to absolute silence, where the world was once again dangerous only from the monsters stalking the forest. Daryl's people, they managed to infiltrate and break the seemingly unbreakable pillars of Woodbury, and their community and yours blended together until they merged for the common good: to survive, to live in peace even in the ruins of that world.
There were so many people in the woods, free at last. Young people, adults, families, children.
“Bunny?”
Behind you, that stupid nickname in his deep voice makes you gulp, but always full of affection and this time without that fake touch of sarcasm Daryl always used to tease you, promising to never hunt rabbits again just so your pet's soul could rest in peace. Seconds or a lifetime, the relentless time would never have allowed you to be ready for that reunion, and life doesn't stop, so you turn around.
The moment your gaze met Daryl's, the ocean in his eyes reawakened in a second, bringing with it tears he held back until he reached you. His free hand clasped your waist as the relief of seeing you again mixed with his fear of never seeing you again, forcing him to drop his forehead against your shoulder for a moment before pulling you into a hug. Your hand, which wasn't holding your gun, holds the side of his head, all under the confused and even stunned glances coming from the side of his group, people searching for answers in each other's eyes.
Daryl pulls away, just enough to press his forehead against yours, hand on your face now.
"I knew ya were alive, bunny." He whispers, because Daryl feels his overwhelming feelings creating a lump in his throat, blocking all strength in him, even in his voice.
You let out a small laugh that turns into a sigh.
"Your hair has grown out."
Daryl chuckles too, finally feeling the warmth of your body slow his wild heartbeat.
Back in the arms of her own husband, the place where she belonged, Maggie nods in your direction, a weak, trembling smile on her lips that remains even after Rick, their leader, leads the way for the others, toward a real community. The road is long, but not eternal, though somewhere in the middle, you go a little further to help the lonely, weary grandfather who lost his family the night it all started, and an arm like Max did in a past war, the bar owner, the man who made a nest for you in the center of his home.
“She’s stronger than I thought.” Merle exhales, standing next to his brother, both of their gazes on you. “A pain in ma ass all this time, but (Y/N) is family, ain’t she? so I can’t talk too much shit 'bout ma favorite sister–in–law.”
Daryl inhales, but all the already polluted air in the world doesn’t seem enough to fill his body.
“She won’t forgive me for what I did. I can see it in her blank stare.”
Merle purses his lips, deliberating whether making a joke to be true to his nature and mocking the pain of others, even if it came from his own brother, is the right thing to do at that moment. But even he and his inability to empathize can see a bit of Daryl's broken gaze, and for a second, as Merle swallows painfully, his younger brother's eyes take him back to when Daryl was just a child, right to the moment when he understood that the pain he experienced for the first time was only the beginning of something much worst.
Daryl had the same sad, resigned look, just when Merle thought he'd never see it again: it was the same intensity, only with a different kind of pain. No, even more so. Much worse. That's why Merle doesn't say anything even after you all reach the prison. The sight takes your breath away, but when the gates close and seal the place, it doesn't feel like a prison at all, with the duty to lock you up, deprive you of your freedom, but rather a place where you can flourish again just when the world seemed doomed to wither.
The long day ends when the cells are occupied, almost all of them. Only a few members of Daryl's group remain standing in the cold place that once served as a visiting room for prisoners.
"I ain't sleepin' with ma baby brotha an' his annoyin' wife. No roommates this time, damn it. M' tired of that shit."
"Merle!" You chide him, like a child learning how to behave when the thought of abandoning him on another rooftop seems looming again, but the bossy tone in your voice is enough to shut him up, relieved that he doesn’t resent them too much to bring the subject up again, with him raising his only remaining hand in a gesture of harmlessness before retreating when Hershel tells him there’s one at the end of Corridor G. When he finally disappears, the discomfort is replaced by surprise that shines like the summer sun at that sweltering season on the others’ faces, even Daryl’s, a few feet away from you. “Sorry, everyone, he is still learning to pee outside like a good dog. Please don’t kick him out.”
You were even funny, and even though you didn't know it, people would soon love you.
Rick clears his throat, still shocked by the revelation that the most unsociable person in that place had feelings, even a wife, a person he called by a nickname that seemed covered in glitter when his personality was as hard as a rock.
"Uh, I guess you don't need a room of your own, do you, (Y/N)? I mean, you and Daryl..."
No one hears or senses your sigh.
"No, of course, it's fine like that."
Another throat clearing comes from the side, and the woman with short hair approaches. Carol.
"You're the only one who hasn't eaten yet." Her gaze is gentle, so soft and filled with maternal love. "Why don't we go to the dining room? I'll get you some more comfortable clothes, too."
You nod, hoping to delay the awkward moment as much as possible.
“Thank you.”
You step back to leave beside her and the hallway feels cold, walls still foreign to you.
“So you and Daryl…” Carol laughs, trying to lighten the moment, but even the sound she tries to contain is sweet.
“What can I say? I've always had a soft spot for bad boys.”
She nods.
“But he's not really bad.”
You shake your head confidently.
“No, he's not at all. In fact, he's one of the best people I've ever met.”
Carol looks at you fondly.
“And yet he hurt you.”
“Yeah, he did.” The pain you thought was forgotten somewhere in your chest awakens abruptly, and you have to swallow to dispel the lump that forms in your throat with the radical idea of ending things there so you don't suffer like you did again. “Do you know anything about that?”
She nods, gently so as not to cross the line.
“It may sound strange, but Daryl is my best friend. Crazy, right?” Carol opens her eyes a little wider, needing no words to tell you that this was something crazy, even for her, and you both laugh. “I don’t know him as much as you do, but I know Daryl can be a toxic soul sometimes, hurting people, even though he doesn’t mean to or even want to. In fact, it makes sense why he kept yelling at others at first. I mean, I don’t condone it, but now I understand that he was dealing with that fear that grew in his chest as time passed: the terror of never seeing the person he loves the most again.”
Her voice remained gentle, warm, and yet, it conveys the pain of her own big loss.
“I’m so sorry, really.”
“Thank you, honey.” Carol smiles, her words short but heartfelt, though the memory of her baby still brings tears to her eyes. “Listen, Daryl Dixon can be cruel sometimes, but he’s not a cruel person, not when he wanted to move heaven and earth to find my Sophia, the same thing he tried to do to find you. The only reason why he never left us was because I begged him not to, so I’m sorry. Sometimes we act inappropriately, but that doesn’t define who we really are. I lived with a cruel person, and Daryl is definitely not that.”
Your shoulders slump, but it doesn't feel like defeat: it feels as if with that sigh, you were able to let go of a tiny bit of pain that seemed to have been lodged in your chest forever. And when only scraps of food remain on your plate, you leave the room until you find his slightly open cell, but covered with a blanket. Daryl straightens after placing his crossbow against the wall the moment you fully enter, but his shy, even scared gaze avoids looking you directly in the eye, not when the terror of losing you just as he found you feels suffocating.
A candlelight flickers and casts shadows against the walls.
"M' sorry, m' really sorry, bunny." His low voice trembles, but his body continues to move closer to yours. "I've wanted to tell ya m' sorry since that night."
You want to take a step back, but you remain in your place.
"I still remember what I told you that night."
There's no reproach in your voice, no hatred, and Daryl stands before you, nodding, trying to be brave.
“I know, ya were right, but please don’ walk away from me, don’ leave me, m' beggin' ya. Been dead all this time without ya.” His nervous hands cup your face when you don't step back, calloused fingers holding your skin gently, bringing his face closer to yours when yours leans toward his in response, your hands clutching his bare arms. “Jus’ be my bunny again, okay? Lemme prove ya this time I’ll be better.”
Your thumb glides over his skin, and Daryl can feel the electricity of that small but powerful gesture.
“Okay.”

Hughes Your Daddy? - Jack Hughes
hahahaha finally
enjoy
request
If I get 10+ comments/asks ill make a part 2
Yes, that's me bribing you, I want more interactions
w.c: 3,007 (credit to gif maker) (don’t steal my work)
Pt.2
The last few weeks of college are the worst weeks of a student's life. There’s nothing but studying, finals, and pure hell. Yet, when Ellen Hughes calls and tells you to get on a flight to Vancouver to be present at the Hughes Bowl, you fucking get on a flight to Vancouver.
The flight itself is terrific; you study a bit of your flashcards, drink some hot cocoa, and even get in a solid half-hour nap. You honestly feel a little sad when the intercoms go off, and they announce your descent into Canada.
The sadness washes away quickly when you clear the clouds and realize how excited you are. This trip, tomorrow’s game, is a very, very special event. Each Hughes brother will be playing on the ice tomorrow night, and you’ll be sitting, as requested, in the Hughes box overlooking it all.
As soon as the 737 touches down, you’re quick to switch your phone off airplane mode. You appreciated the few hours of bliss without endless notifications, but life has to go on. As soon as the iPhone gets service, a flood of messages rolls through. One from Ellen, to which you respond. Two from Quinn, which you answer. And 36 messages from Jack, which you ignore.
You should respond, and you will, but first, you have to get off the plane and find your favorite chauffeur.
Without further delay, you exit the plane, grabbing your carry-on and swinging your backpack over your shoulders. You smile at the few flight attendants on the way out and throw an extra thank you to the woman who gave you some extra cookies when she saw your flashcards.
The Vancouver airport is bustling, and you can’t help but feel the positive vibes radiating from the space. The entire airport is decorated for Christmas, and you’re reminded why it’s ranked one of the best airports in North America.
You make your way to the baggage claim, checking your phone to ensure you’re heading toward the right spot. You are, and while you’re walking, you pass all the cute little shops. You see a couple of little knickknacks, and you make a mental note to pick up something on your flight back. Now, however, you must focus.
The baggage claim area is pretty full, and you’re dodging people left and right. You’re unsure in the sea of people where Quinn might be hiding until you hear your name shouted from somewhere to your left. You turn your body, and there he is, waving a bit and standing with a small smile.
“Oh my god, is that Quinn Hughes?” You say in mock shock as you get within his earshot. “The newest captain of the Canucks and Vancouver's most precious gem?”
He rolls his eyes back as far as he can when you approach, but nonetheless, he pulls you in for a hug.
“Please stop.” He groans out as your part and takes your carry-on from you.
“Never.” You smile as he leads you out of the airport.
It takes mere minutes to get to the car, and you both catch up about whatever. It’s been months since you’ve seen Quinn, and whenever you’re with him, you’re reminded why he might be your favorite besides Ellen and Jim, of course.
As soon as you are settled into the passenger of Quinn’s car, he reaches back behind him and pulls out a small gift bag.
“Here, before I forget.”
You give him a questioning look, and he just gives you a slight smirk.
“Just open it. It’s more of a gift to everyone else.”
You squint your eyes a bit suspiciously but pull the tissue paper from the bag. As soon as you do, you see the familiar blue and white colors, and a laugh burst from your lips.
“Oh my god.” You shriek out, laughing, pulling the Canucks jersey from the bag.
You both immediately start laughing, and you can hardly contain yourself.
“Of course, you don’t have to wear it for the game.” Quinn says. “but he’s gonna flip if he sees you wearing it when they get here.”
You scan the Jersey and agree with the boy next to you. Your boyfriend is very possessive when it comes to jerseys, and he hates everything that isn’t red, black, or white and doesn’t have Hughes 86 plastered on the back.
“Oh, this is gold, Quinn.” You say, tucking the jersey back in as Quinn moves the car out of the lot.
“Ma and I thought so, too. She said it might humble him for the night.”
Speaking of humbling your boyfriend, you reach for your phone and go to text him back. You scan the many messages and roll your eyes at a few. Most of them are him just wanting attention, but the last one catches your eye.
we’re 2 hours behind ur flight. No fun or smiling before I get there
You read the text allowed to Quinn, who rolls his eyes at the statement, and you’re quick to shoot a response back, telling Jack that it’s too late and you’re having the best time ever.
————————-
As soon as you step through Quinn’s front door, you hear a happy yell, and Ellen is pulling you in for a long-awaited hug. You practically melt as she squishes you, and the happiest of laughs exits her.
“Oh, my sweet girl, I’m so happy this worked out.” She says to you, pulling back just enough to look at your smiling face.
You look behind her as Jim is standing nearby, waiting his turn. You give Ellen one less squeeze and then turn to the original Hughes and give him a big hug.
“Hey, kiddo,” He says. “Glad you’re here.”
As soon as you say your hellos, you move to get your stuff settled into your room. As quickly as you can, you throw your stuff down and pull on the New Jersey, making your way back out to the kitchen.
As soon as you enter, Jim laughs, and Ellen raises her hands to her mouth.
“Oh, Jack is gonna hate it.” She turns to Quinn and laughs, using him to steady her.
“Oh, we know.” You say, high-fiving Quinn as you grab a cup of some water.
As soon as you get your water, you all settle into the living room, and questions are flying left and right. You talk about school, work, and whatever else comes to mind about the time you’ve spent away from them. They hang onto every word, and you can’t help but smile. You’ve always been close to Jack's family, but when the one-year mark passed, it’s like they fully accepted you as one of them. Now, almost two years in, Ellen and Jim treat you like the daughter they never had, and they tell you often how much more they like you than any of their sons. You always laugh, but you know deep down that you are special to them. And that fact alone makes you consider yourself one of the luckiest girls.
“They just landed,” Quinn announces. “Almost showtime.”
Ellen winks at you from her space on the couch, and you settle deeper into the comfortable space, counting down the seconds until your boyfriend walks through the door.
—————————-
About half an hour later, you hear loud commotion as the door swings open and Jack and Luke enter the building. It takes less than three seconds for Jack to yell.
“Where is she?”
You laugh at him and yell back from the living room. “I’m in here.”
In mere seconds, Jack is in the room, making a beeline toward you. It’s the first time you’ve seen him in a month, and you won’t lie; he looks pretty good.
You make your move and step off the couch, going to hug him, but he halts in his place a few feet away, giving you a once-over.
“Get that shit off you.”
As soon as that leaves his mouth, everyone busts out laughing, and Jack gives you a less-than-impressed look. You feel a bit bad, so you give him a small smile and lift the jersey off your frame, revealing a Devils t-shirt underneath.
As soon as you throw the jersey away, he takes two long strides and engulfs you in a hug. You thought that nothing could beat Ellen’s hug, but Jack's grip nearly breaks your back.
You pull away after a second and pry him off of you. You love him more than anything, but you’re not about to show massive amounts of PDA in front of his parents, who are sitting a few feet away.
He gets this because he lets you go and gives his parents and brother a quick greeting, then leads you away from the living room. Everyone allows it to happen, and you find yourself in the privacy of the bedroom.
“You’re funny, but you better have my jersey for tomorrow night.”
You let out a small laugh and cross the room again, linking your hand behind his head and pulling him closer to you. His hands find home on your waist, and his fingertips dip under your shirt a bit, gently squeezing.
“I promise, J,” you grin. “I’ll do my best to show support to the losing team.”
He releases a soft gasp and gives you a slight look of betrayal.
“Losing team?”
Your grin goes even wider. “Check that stats, bud. You’re in a bit of a losing streak.”
He narrows his eyes a bit, and with one quick motion, he grabs your frame and tosses you on the bed. He enters attack mode, lays his entire weight on you, and begins grabbing at your sides. You, of course, go into defense mode and fight to push him off. You fight for power for a minute before you pull your defining move. He gets close, too close, and you give him your best doe eyes. The second he catches your stare, he folds, and he puts himself at your mercy.
For the first time in a hot minute, you pull him to meet you; the second his lips are on you, you implode. It’s been too long, and there is nothing more comforting and familiar than the boy lying nearly on top of you. You kiss him for a minute, your lips molding perfectly together before you pull away, gently patting his face.
“I think your family would like to see you.”
You push him away again as he rolls his eyes.
“I see them enough.”
He goes back to try to kiss you, but you push him away, putting a finger to his lips and shaking your head.
“Come on.”
He lets out an annoyed huff and removes himself from the bed, pulling you up along with him. You make your way back to the family room and laugh yourself into the family events.
Soon, you’re all playing board games, and you find out very quickly reminded about how sore of a loser your boyfriend is. You play board games cards, and when it gets late enough in the night, you all make your way to the living room for a movie.
You watch something light-hearted, and you can’t help but feel bliss as you’re tucked into Jack's side, surrounded by the entirety of the Hughes family. It’s a nice moment, and it’s the times like this that have you thankful you’ve stuck with the boy at your side.
——————
Before the sun rises, Jack's alarm blares next to you, and you can only groan at the noise. Alarms are truly nothing but an escape from bliss, and you wish you could stay forever in this little bubble. You’re warm comfy, and you don’t mind the boy you’re cuddled next to.
But alas, he is a slave to hockey, and he presses a quick kiss to your lips and swings himself out of bed. You follow a few minutes later, moving at a sloth pace. Instead of getting fully ready, you make your way downstairs to where the smell of bacon is wafting through the house. You’re almost giddy as you see Ellen and Quinn making breakfast, and you get even happier when Ellen places a steaming mug of coffee in front of you.
“You’re an angel, thank you.”
She gives you a big smile and pours another cup for herself. As soon as you catch the time, you offer to take Quinn’s place with the cooking, to which he gladly accepts and runs off to shower and get ready for the big game.
As soon as all the Hughes boys are out of earshot, you get down to business.
“I’ll raise to fifty on the Devs.”
Jim scoffs at your bet. “I love ‘em, but I disagree. Offense has been a bit sloppy. I’ll raise to a hundred on the Nucks.”
You quirk your eyebrow, then turn to the Queen, who seems to be pondering.
“I’m sorry (Y/N), but I think I’m gonna say Nucks too.”
You let out a soft groan but hold your ground.
“Alright. Final bet is a hundred. Winner takes all.
You all shake hands, sealing the deal.
As if you weren’t up to gambling, you act as naturally as possible as the three boys enter the kitchen. Each one is clad in a suit, and it warms your heart to see them all together. They look adorable, and you can’t help but laugh when Ellen demands a picture. They oblige, but like every other photo they take, it slightly looks like they’re being held at gunpoint. But you win some, you lose some.
Eventually, you’re all fed, happy, and once another alarm goes off, you know it’s time. You say your goodbyes to the boys, wishing them the best of luck. You hug Quinn, do your secret handshake with Luke, and press a quick kiss to Jack's lips.
Once you finish, they say their goodbyes to their parents and make their way toward the door, but they don’t get far before Jack pulls you toward him one last time.
“You ready to watch me destroy Quinn?” He teases.
You roll your eyes, pushing him away with a laugh. Nonetheless, you give him one last peck, swat his ass, and yell one final encouragement as he heads out the door.
“Don’t embarrass me!”
He flips you the bird as he gets into Quinn’s vehicle, and you smile and give him one back as you head back into the house.
You sit back down to finish talking with the parents l, and time ticks by faster than you’d like. Soon enough, it’s time to get ready, and you throw on your devil's jersey. You say a little prayer and hope they all do good. Things like this don’t happen often, and you hope it’s simply a good game.
———————
You smiled as wide as you could as the three Hughes brothers posed for a couple of pictures. You could see the distaste on all their faces, but they did it anyway.
Once they do the appropriate media, the game begins, and you’re sitting on the edge of your seat. It’s a good game, no, a great game. Soon, the first period is almost over, but not before your boyfriend has to remind everyone who he is, and he scores a goal.
It’s known that the Hughes parents don’t show much emotion at the games, and even more so when it’s their sons playing on opposite teams. So you control yourself, but you don’t miss when Ellen squeezes your hand.
The game continues, and it’s a nail-biter. Each minute you watch, you get more and more tense. Maybe it’s because you’re just nervous, or perhaps it’s the fact you have a hundred bucks on the line. But either way, you pray the clock ticks faster.
It doesn’t, but once Luke scores, you can’t help but start to think that this might be the end of a losing streak. You laugh on the inside because, of course, all it takes is a little brother rivalry to get the Devils back into motion.
———————
When the clock hits zero, and the Devils win, you practically die in your seat. You’re so thrilled for Jack and Luke, but a small part of you is a bit depressed for Quinn. But you know, if anyone can handle a loss like this, it’s the eldest Hughes, so you’re not too worried. Instead, you focus on your boyfriend, who, even from the box, looks the happiest he’s been in a while. He was given the title of the first star of the game, and you absolutely love it when he’s like this. You know he’s going to be in one of those unstoppable moods. You love it, but he can be a cocky little shit, and you know he’s going to be almost insufferable. You’ll take it, though, and embrace every part of it.
A few minutes later, the area starts clearing, and you’re all getting ready to leave the box, but you almost forget what is happening when Jim slides you a crisp hundred-dollar bill and winks at you.
“Jack really pulls out the stops when you’re at a game.”
You let a blush creep onto your face as you take the bill. You’d be lying if you said that you felt bad. This isn’t the first game you’ve bet on against Jim, and it certainly won’t be the last.
“Alright, you two gamblers, let’s go see the boys, shall we?”
Ellen leads the three of you down to where you’ll see the men of the hour. You feel the happiest you’ve felt in a while as you follow behind them, and when you get close enough, you can hear your boyfriend laugh from a short distance. Your heart skips the noise, and as soon as he spots you from across the room, he moves as fast as lightning to get to you.

chiropterology — mother's day.
drabble synopsis ; mind the pretzel dips! warnings ; swearing, some good ol' sibling rivalry.
series masterlist.
“Ground rules!” Stephanie called out to the hoard of bats gathered together in the living room. It was the early hours of Mother’s Day—so early that the sun had yet to rise. Each year on this day they all had a not-so-friendly competition on who could successfully pamper you the most. It was undoubtedly one of your most favorite holidays of the year. “Only two people attend to Mom at once—we don’t want to overwhelm her. To ensure everyone gets a fair shot today, you can only stick to her for two hours at a time. You’re allowed to spend time with her again later, but you need at least an hour cooling period in between.”
“What if someone goes over the time limit?” Jason grumbled. “Some people apparently have really bad “internal clocks.”” He placed air quotes around the last term with a scoff.
Everyone simultaneously glared at Tim, who blanched at the sudden attention. “What? I’ll stick to the time limit this year, I swear!”
“Uh-huh,” Steph said, giving him a stink-eye. Last year, Tim had gone to the movies with you on Mother’s Day, hogging up many hours of your precious time, much to the rest of their fury—it was safe to say that he was disqualified from the competition.
“And what does the winner get this year?” Damian asked, foot tapping against the polished hardwood.
Steph’s grin widened. “Winner gets first pick for movie nights for the next three months.”
“Oh, the horror!” gasped Jason in an exaggerated fashion. “You all have such terrible taste!”
“God, if I have to rewatch Pride and Prejudice one more time—” Tim moaned.
Jason kicked at Tim’s shin with a fiery glare. “Shut your mouth. It’s a good movie—!”
“Loser?” Cass asked.
Duke wavered nervously. It was his first year competing, and he was more nervous than a baby bird about to take flight for the first time. “There’s a punishment for the loser?”
Tim shot his hand up. “To give our dear Alfred a break… Loser does everyone’s laundry for the next three months.”
“Ooh, evil,” said Jason, a sharp grin pulling his lips thin, recalling the many condiment-soiled uniforms he had tossed into the hamper. “I like it.”
“Alright. Rules aside, I want a clean competition this year. May the best man, boy, or woman win,” Dick declared. “Though, I’ve known her the longest, so I really do think you guys should be congratulating me on my victory beforehand.”
Damian stared up at him balefully. “Oh, please, Grayson. Do you even know what Mother’s favorite chocolate bar is?”
Dick scratched at the back of his neck. “Uhm… Kit-Kats?”
“Wrong,” Damian said, an edge of pride sharpening his voice. “And even if you were right, you are an idiot to inform the rest of us of such precious intel.”
Dick crossed his arms. His little brother got him there. “Rats.”
“All agree?” Cass asked. “No bribe.”
They all nodded at each other. This was a sacred holiday, and cheating was the last thing on anyone’s minds.
“Great!” Steph exclaimed. “Let Mother’s Day begin!”
The kids were being terribly attentive this year. You could hardly step in one direction without one of them appearing in front of you with wild, eager, almost manic eyes. All of them offered to give you a massage, or read one of your favorite books to you, or run a warm bath for you, or run to the store to grab you a tub of your preferred ice cream, or clean up your lab, or volunteer as a test subject for your newest experiments (which was very much appreciated).
Urgh. You loved Mother’s Day.
Bruce watched the kids fret over you, sipping lukewarm coffee from a mug that said Okayest Dad of The Year. “Why don’t they ever do this on Father’s Day?” he muttered.
“Please,” you scoffed, kissing your husband’s cheek. “If the kids hovered over you like this, you would go into hiding for the next fortnight.”
Bruce grumbled some more, but didn’t disagree with you.
The hours drew on, and the kids grew increasingly frantic. You caught sight of Tim hurriedly scribbling in his notebook out of the corner of your eye more times than you could count—presumably trying to keep score, even though you weren’t at all keeping track of how many favors each person was doing for you.
However, there were still very notable, thoughtful things the kids did for you today that you would cherish for the rest of your life. Steph had made you a playlist of all your favorite songs, and a few of her own recommendations that she thought you would enjoy, and she was very much right. Cass had one of your favorite books translated to braille so you were able to read in the dark without worsening your eyesight. Damian sketched a large portrait of you and your beloved cake robot together, and signed your name in beautiful Arabic calligraphy. Jason and Tim both assisted you with clearing out the closet full of your old inventions in one of the upstairs rooms, even offering to help you test if any of them still worked. Both of them walked out of your lab two hours later sore, winded, and dizzy. Dick, with the help of Alfred, made you a photo-album with old pictures from his time as Robin. Afterwards, you and Dick went out for a short session of karaoke, and it was the most fun you ever had singing to depressing 90s music.
But there was one thing that stood out to you the most. One thing that immediately made up your mind on who was going to be the winner.
Duke had come up to you an hour before The Reaping (AKA when you picked a winner and a loser), looking somewhat nauseous. He hadn’t gotten to spend much time with you today, so he was already quite nervous.
“Hey, bud!” you cheerfully greeted, holding a basket of broken car parts. There was grease smeared over your cheek, which Cassandra had stepped forward to wipe away with a warm, damp towel. “What can I do for you?”
“I actually…” Duke fiddled with the clasp of his bag. “I had something made for you. I asked Luke to help me out with all the mechanics, but… I’ve been working on it for the past few days.”
He pulled out a long column of metal, fitted with thick, tinted glass on either ends of the tube. It resembled a telescope of sorts.
“Ooh, how neat!” you exclaimed, dropping the basket and taking the contraption from him, lifting it up to your eye-level to examine the handiwork. Your eyes sparkled with curiosity. “What is it?”
Duke placed a hand on your shoulder, and gestured up the stairs. “I think it’s best to explain it on the balcony.” As he led you up (with Cass silently trailing behind like a ghost), Duke said, “Remember when you told me how much you loved stargazing? But doing it in Gotham is almost impossible, considering—”
“The light pollution,” you said, tilting your head. “Don’t tell me this is…”
Duke pushed open a door to one of the many balconies of the manor. “Take a look.”
You blinked at the boy, shocked at his thoughtfulness, before hastily pressing the lens up to your eye and angling your face up to the sky. And there it was—a kaleidoscope of scintillating stars like shattered glass freckled all throughout the dark canvas of Gotham’s normally murky horizon. They winked at you knowingly. You made a garbled, shocked noise, stumbling back a few steps from the balcony in your urgency to tilt your head back and see more. Duke steadied you with two hands over your shoulders.
Duke sounded sheepish as he said, “Luke had it specially designed to filter out certain wavelengths of light. It was really all him, but I was the one who thought of it.”
Finally, painfully, you tore your gaze away from the sky. And when they met Duke’s, he was surprised to find your expression overcome with emotion.
“Oh, Duke. I don’t even know how to begin to thank you. This is so thoughtful.” You enveloped him into a warm hug. “You win, by the way. Competition’s over.”
“I promise I didn’t just do it for the competition—!” Duke protested, but you shook your head anyway.
“I know, hon. But it doesn’t matter. You win anyway, hands down.”
The time had come for The Reaping. All the kids crowded around you in the library, begging to know who would be the winner this year—and movie-picker for the next few months. Cassandra and Duke, of course, already knew, but they stayed relatively silent in comparison to their rowdy brothers and sister.
“Alright,” you said, which immediately halted the argumentative chatter. “This has been an amazing day for me, truly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I love you all so much, and I’m so touched that you guys go through all this trouble every year for me.”
“You deserve it,” Dick said, which earned a chorus of agreement.
“Now, don’t butter me up just yet. I’ll start with announcing the loser,” you said, clearing your throat. You looked towards Jason.
“Oh, no,” he said.
“I’m sorry, hon,” you told him, taking his hands.
“No. Mom, no. How could you do this to me?” Jason appeared genuinely betrayed by your decision. The rest of the kids burst into raucous cheers at avoiding three months’ worth of stinky vigilante laundry. Alfred was also going to be very glad.
Trying your best to stifle your laughter, you clutched his scarred hands closer to you and dramatically uttered the next few sentences as if you were giving a eulogy. “I love you so much. But when you called me from the amusement park asking what kind of pretzel I wanted, I told you I wanted a cinnamon pretzel with chocolate dip. You came back with a cinnamon pretzel… and a caramel dip. I’m so sorry Jason—I hereby declare you this year’s loser.”
“Shit,” Jason groaned, head falling back as he realized his mistake. One goddamned caramel dip cost him his victory!
“Hah!” Damian proclaimed. “So it is clear, then. I am obviously the winner this year, and you will all be watching—”
“Actually,” you interrupted, shooting Damian an apologetic wince, “this year’s winner is Duke!”
“What?” Damian barked. “Impossible! It is his first year. Nobody wins on their first try.”
Bashful, Duke awkwardly waved when everyone’s eyes fell on him.
“He had a special telescope made for me,” you said, brandishing the gift from its protective case. Everyone clamored closer to get a good look at it. “One that lets me see Gotham’s stars through all the smog. You guys are not allowed to touch it without my explicit permission, by the way. I’m serious! I will suspend you from patrolling, and Bruce would be happy to see it through!”
They all gulped nervously.
“Wow—” Steph said once she got a better look, eyes widening as she whistled a low note. “No, yeah, I didn’t stand a chance against that. Way to go, Duke!”
The rest of the siblings clapped Duke on the back, congratulating him on the win. Tim handed him the sleek back remote to the theater room’s large monitor. “For you, my liege.”
You carefully put the telescope away, then ruffled Damian’s hair. “Better luck next year, kiddo.”
“Tch. It will be war next year, Mother.” He looked up at you, determination burning within his dark green eyes. “And I shall be the last one standing on the battlefield!”
“Okay, you little gargoyle,” Tim said, gently shoving Damian away, who angrily kicked at Tim’s shin (which was already bruised from Jason’s kick earlier that day). He pretended like it didn’t hurt, and gave you a warm, one-armed hug. “Happy Mother’s Day. We love you, Mom.”
