The normalization of sexualization in flicker :3
i know i made an entire poll about this more than a week ago but i genuinely didnt know where to start-
anyway now ive cleared my thoughts so
#1. What's with the flirting??
These days, its increasingly common to go into a round of flicker (specifically anonymous in my case but ive heard that it happens even in custom) and one of the players drops a note thats extremely sexual and frankly vile. If you pick a male character or get a masculine presenting character the chances of this note being targetted at you increases tenfold. I have had numerous friends who primarily pick male get harassed constantly by other characters, and theyve told me how terrible it made them feel. These messages also find their way into journals, with many having something to the extent of "Thiago's pretty cute.. flushed emoji" or whatever. Of course, this example is much more tame compared to the traumatizing messages I have seen but I really dont want to type all of that godawful stuff out. Even I have experienced some of this, and i usually pick female/nb.
The problem is, when one of these notes drop, or when someone writes a dirty fanfic about actual current players in the game, all we get is an "AYO??" or even if we're lucky that person gets silently voted out whenever possible. We need to address these issues before they get out of hand. Flicker is not the place to send these notes. These people aren't consenting to these messages. This is a clear violation of the consent of so many unsuspecting flicker players and its disgusting that it is so normalized that you can see a screenshot of this and think about a ship or find it funny. This is a problem.
#2. Literal dating while the game is IN PROCESS
This more falls in the line of teaming, but nonetheless it still supports the normalization of sexual content and harassment in flicker. Like it is common to see a dropped note, it is also common (though to a lesser extent) to see people calling each other something along the lines of "Pookie". This may be harmless at first glance, but not only does it distract two or more people from the entire game that is attempting to be played but it serves as an example for the impressionable audience of flicker.
TL;DR - Stop making sexual jokes about the characters as there are real fucking people behind those avatars
Please add anything you think is important to this conversation as i really think its important to discuss this :3

@forgivenpunishment // one taser might not do it, but what about...?
Holding off a wave of people was no small effort.
Keeping an army off the back of another person while throwing yourself in harm's way, regardless of your strength, was something noble. Something that deserved praise, recognition; the undertaker's efforts would not go unnoticed.
... unfortunately for him, though, it wasn't Vash that they wanted. It wasn't Vash that would be swarmed by fully-amped stun batons and tasers and more bodies trickling in, crowding the hall to prevent escape, or even basic movement that might've allowed him to get the upper hand as some old, croaking voice shrieked don't kill him! We need him alive, he's useless to us dead...!
That had been nearly an hour ago, now, though. Trivial. Shouts and crackles of electricity had been replaced by the din of machines; the hum of glaringly bright surgical lights; the slow, steady blip of a heart monitor keeping track of vitals as six men bustled around the surgical table that they'd strapped him to. They'd cut him out of his clothes to save time, as well; naked save for the various nodes and monitors they'd fastened to him, and a clean, white sheet over his hips that went down to mid-thigh.
Was that sparing his dignity, or theirs? It didn't really matter, did it. No, no, what mattered now was how the subject was feeling whenever he came to again--
