A/N: I hope at least one person will enjoy this, so I'm actually going to advertise a fic for once. Thure Lindhardt never looked better than he did in this movie, if you ask me, and just writing it felt like a fuck you to every right-wing person in Denmark, which is an instant win in my book.

I love this character and Mads’ depiction so so so much. He is so much in pain, but cannot not do what he does. And it gets worse and worse, but he still goes on, because it’s the thing he needs to do. And the more he loses, the more he gets capable to fight further. Cruel, bitter. Pained, courageous, precious Citronen.

I går så jeg filmen Flammen og Citronen med Mads Mikkelsen og Thure Lindhardt. Jeg synes den er en fremragende film, og skuespillerne - især Lindhardt - gav imponerende optrædener.

Filmen handler om to mænd fra den danske modstandsbevægelse mod nazisterne i 2. verdenskrig, da Danmark blev invaderet. Mændene dræbte danske stikker som hjalp nazisterne i Danmark, men de kom i tvivl om, at deres ordrer er ægte eller om de har dræbt uskyldige mennesker.

Jeg blev overrasket, at jeg kunne så nemt forstå filmen. Jeg har haft meget svært ved at forstå andre filmer jeg har set, men denne gang tænkte jeg mere om handlingen end sproget, og i stedet for at oversætte i hovedet, forstod jeg det meste af filmen enkelt på dansk.

Flame & Citron

During Nazi occupation, red-headed Bent Faurschou-Hviid ("Flame") and Jørgen Haagen Schmith ("Citron"), assassins in the Danish resistance, take orders from Winther, who's in direct contact with Allied leaders. One shoots, the other drives. Until 1944, they kill only Danes; then Winther gives orders to kill Germans. When a target tells Bent that Winther's using them to settle private scores, doubt sets in, complicated by Bent's relationship with the mysterious Kitty Selmer, who may be a double agent. Also, someone in their circle is a traitor. Can Bent and Jørgen kill an über-target, evade capture, and survive the war? And is this heroism, naiveté, or mere hatred?
