here's blue! he's posed to match the request i drew of luna, and the scarf was a gift from burnet :)

i headcanon silkwings as having two regional morphs, moths and butterflies. moths have lighter, more muted colors and more fluff, including a mane on their back and sometimes chest, and butterflies as being more brightly colored with fluff only on their belly and maybe head and spines on their backs. Admiral and burnet are butterflies and silverspot is a moth, so luna is half-moth and blue is full butterfly!

Flamesilks SHOULD be immune or at the VERY LEAST highly resistant to Firescales and normal fire.

It just doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't be. Luna can hold Sun Silk, a type of silk that can BURN through stone. Granted, I don't know how hot Firescales are, but at the VERY LEAST, they should be able to touch Peril for a brief moment without bursting into flames!

I figure Tui said they aren't cause she didn't want to take away/make lesser the one special ability MudWings have, flame immunity.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Wings of Fire what ifs

What if after Sunny saw what her friends thought of her through the Obsidian Mirror, she decided to stay with the Outclaws? (A wrote a fanfic on this a long time ago. Never finished it)

What if Indigo couldn't be saved from her wooden dragon prison? What would Fathom do?

What if Albatross only killed Lagoon and nobody else?

What if Foeslayer agreed to leave her mother behind and her and Arctic did run off to somewhere else other than the Nightwing island?

What if Blaze won the war, and in turn, due to the territory now lost, Sandwings begin to leave the kingdom or die off?

What if neither Blue nor Luna turned out to be flamesilks and instead, Swordtail was?

flamesilk dragons are one of the craziest things ive heard of in a book. like you're telling me that there is a tribe that can just make silk webs like a spider and then a select few just have FIRE WEBS?? HOW DID WE GO FROM SPIDER SILK TO HOT FUCKING FLAME GOOP????

I think Blue’s father, Admiral, had Stockholm syndrome. Rather than see himself as a prisoner, he convinced himself that Queen Wasp and her tribe (and his) needed his flamesilk. In this way, he sided himself with what was supposed to be his enemy. That’s part of the reason why he thought his children should also be enslaved with him: he was convinced that they were doing an amazing service for all hives and they needed him and his children to perform this ‘great service’. Queen Wasp grants a small amount of his thousands of requests and he convinces himself that they were great kindnesses and he was a great dragon for doing it which only made the Stockholm Syndrome worse. One can only hope that he gets away from it all long enough to realize how terrible it all was. But I sometimes think that he’d still let the Hivewings use him. I hope his children at least get him away but judging by how he wasn’t even mentioned at the end of book 15, I don’t think they did much for him. I at least hope Queen Jewel is supervising his work if he’s doing any for the hives.

He should be living like a king for producing his flamesilk since it’s a valuable commodity and it probably will be even more so. I bet part of the reason Queen Wasp made them produce the hot silk so the demand for flamesilk would not be exponentially higher (the other reason was to probably make flamesilk look dangerous so it would seem justified locking them up). Because the stuff that isn’t hot but still glows bright can be used to make signs and essentially any other used regular silk can be used for. The possibilities would be endless.

Not a confession but a question, can flame silks touch fire aside from their own flame silk?!

I beleive that they can touch other's flamesilk, depending on the type, but they are not immune to fire.
