What does inspire you? What inspires me is good music and architecture. I respect what other artist do, but I do not use other artists work as a source of inspiration. All the pieces I create are completely original and processed without any pre-planning.

Flëkz: Symmetry & Abstract Geometry

With the clever Usage of Symmetry and a brilliant sence of abstract Geometry the Artist known as “Flëkz” is able to create stunning pieces of Tape Art. Even though his work seems hectic at first, the use of symmetry helps to convey an easy on the eyes and relaxing feeling.

“Flëkz” artwork often plays with possitive and negative space, which allows for a pleasureful viewing experience and it puts a new dimension to the Tape Artworks.

Flëkz Though initially I'll admit I sat on the fence when I first saw Flëkz tapped patterns as it did not adhere to my own tastes of minimal design I can certainly more than appreciate the and would have been foolish not to post it up as there are some rather spectacular pattern in the mix. Using a bold shade of blue and thick tape, the method of overlaying causing the illusion of a variety of white space. 7sobm : facebook | tumblr

TIND’s Video Art loves Tape

 There’s also a very talented Tind  from Greece who does print art, we’re not the same but we are friends since a couple of years!
 * TiND was created in 1998 (our 1st VJ gig!). I was born in 1978



Where was you born? Montréal (in the province of Québec, Canada)

Where did you grow up? 
a little bit outside Montréal in a smaller town
. Still live here. When did you start doing Tape Art?
 About 5-6 years ago, we were doing a lot of video installation & video mapping but we wanted to include more “street art” style to our installation. so we did some research and found out more about Tape Art. We fell in LOVE with tape art ! and we need right away that Tape Art & video mapping would work perfectly together. i work most of the time with another art group called Creation Ex Nihilo here in Montréal. 
 What does inspire you? Street artists (every style!), tape art artist, architecture, graphic / print design, new technologies, science, music (specially Dub music!)


Who does inspire you?
 These days i love art work from these artists : Flëkz, TAPE OVER Crew, NO CURVES, outoftape, YGREK, Jay Walker, BUFF DISS, Jim Lambie, Dino Maat, Ix.one, ZamZam & Polygon Press (dub label from Portland!), MSHL (montreal), tape that & +

also big fan and always very inspired by these “art events” : Mural fest in Montreal, the MAPP MTL fest (also in Montreal), Pow Wow Hawaii, Mutek fest (Montreal), Elektra/Bian festival (Montreal) … +

What is your profession? Are you a full-time artist?
 I’m a computer tech in charge of computer labs in the Design Art school of UQAM (university of quebec in montreal), this is my “real day job”. but on the side in run my non-profit video art group TiND and we do all sort of creation : video creation, video mapping, tape art / tape mapping, video installation, VJing, print & + we work a lot with other art group & festival like MAPP MTL, the SAT
