Theres a steady stream if you filter by the queerplatonic tag which is nice. The problem is that most of it's either too short for me or just underdeveloped background characters but its something. Yeah it sucks to settle for that but you know how dire it is finding rep.

Okay I wanted to draw this a while ago, but then I gave up, and now I wanted to try again, but...

I drew BB, JJ, and DD!!

They kinda have my own twist (and are also kinda if they were in that version of SB that I was drawing & then just stopped talking about XD) but I like how they came out!!

BB (aka Balloon Boy) hands out regular balloons, and has a system in him specifically for blowing helium balloons!! That's why his voice sounds like that (not really, I just feel like it'd be funny if breathing helium somehow messed with his voice box)

JJ (aka Jay Jay) hands out balloon animals, and other things like that (Balloon flowers, balloon hats, etc etc), and has a regular air blowing system, since she doesn't blow helium balloons

DD (aka Dee Dee) sometimes helps blow balloons... but she mainly prefers to prank her siblings, and try and pop the balloons they're working on. DD sometimes also sews stuff (like if a kid's stuffed toy ripped, she just basically approaches them with that comically large sewing needle & fixes it). But she mainly uses it to prank her siblings.

BB, DD, and JJ are triplets (in my version), and they care for each other (even if DD does sometimes play too many pranks...)

These three mainly hang out around Kid's Cove & the Superstar Daycare, but sometimes they'll roam to other spots too.

Chapter five is coming! It actually (whisper it) has some of my favourite scenes I've written in it: some scenes I've had in the tank for a while but haven't quite known what to do with, and others that I wrote specifically for Beasts and have been excited to finally get to use. Right now I'm in the fun but extremely chaotic scene-and-flashback writing stage, where I write a bunch of little scenes out of order. And then when I've got them into a shaggy workable shape I can copy and paste them into one big doc and start to move them around and play with them and see if I can discipline them into one discrete chapter and start to play with pacing and shape etc. The other day I finally did myself a favour and built myself a storyboarding spreadsheet to more systematically track the different themes across chapters, and, although it was an absolute ball-ache to do, it has like solved a lot of my problems, lol. Storyboarding works, they weren't lying, who knew! You absolutely hate to see it!

On length - I'm actually genuinely concerned I don't know how to write a short chapter. Did you see those 'microfics' I did! I was taking the piss! Imagine being able to be concise. ✨ Imagine ✨ I'm staring at this spreadsheet looking at the errrrrr twenty four themes I want to track across this damn fic and wondering why I am so consistently such a dumb dumb bitch who makes life hard for myself
