Fisherman's Warf 2021! If you haven't been it's a great travel destination when you're visiting the bay area. There's crowds of people year round and the best time to go is either in spring or in fall since it can get pretty hot. They have the paid parking in the center as seen in my photo which is super convenient. There's ton of different vendors to buy fresh fish from and of course hustlers selling cool keepsake items on the street. I strongly recommend the street hot dogs, they're better than anywhere else including NY. These are cooked on a portable grill right in front of you and you can ask for it wrapped in bacon. They're toped with grilled onions/tomatoes/jalapeños and ofc ketchup/mayo/mustard. There's a ton to see and buy here even people doing mini shows in the street trying to make a dollar. This photo was taken from Applebee's across the street and since the restaurant is on the second floor it gave us the perfect view. Go there for the photos and maybe a cocktail, then get authentic food from the fish market or a street hot dog! Yum! (:

Am nächsten Morgen ging es direkt los auf Tour, erst durch den Crissy Field Park und dann am Strand der San Francisco Bay entlang zu Fort Point.

Fort Point hatte lange die Aufgabe diese Bucht zu bewachen, war dann aber nie in Kampfhandlungen verwickelt. Fort Point sollte eigentlich für die Golden Gate Bridge abgerissen werden, der zuständige Architekt bewunderte aber das Gebäude sehr und setzte durch, dass es erhalten blieb.

Dann gings über den Golden Gate Park nach oben zur Brücke. Da haben wir uns dann aber gegen eine Überquerung entschieden sondern sind zurück nach San Francisco.

Dann fanden wir ein Applebees über dem Fishermans Warf mit toller Aussicht und einem guten Angebot für unser Mittagessen.

Wir sind noch etwas durch San Francisco gegangen, waren etwas shoppen und haben dann als “Abendessen” bei Ghiradelli tolle Eisbecher gefunden! Es war auch noch genug Sonne vorhanden um es etwas warm zu haben als wir die gegessen haben.

Und heute Abend holen wir ja noch das letzte Mitglied der Reisegruppe - Jule hatte ja wegen des Ausfalls erst den Flug am Montag bekommen.

Unsere letzten beiden Tage in den USA haben wir noch in San Francisco verbracht. Am Freitag hat es durchgeregnet, trotzdem sind wir zur Lombard Street und zum Fishermans Warf. Überraschenderweise wars am Samstag dann sonnig, somit perfekt um die Golden Gate Bridge anzuschauen, nachdem wir davor erstmal mit traumhafter Aussicht dort gefrühstückt haben. Wir haben die Brücke einmal überquert, von der anderen Seite hatte man auch einen herrlichen Blick auf die Stadt und die Bucht.

Jetzt sind wir am Flughafen und warten auf unseren langen Flug nach Mexiko.

Day 10: this is when we entered the actual Sequoia park and saw General Sherman. We saw a bear on the way out while driving to San Francisco ! There, we toured through Pier 39, Fisherman’s Warf, and saw Alcatraz in the distance ! The food was amazing ! And I got to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and through the Sierra Nevada mountains !

From here it’s a relatively quick walk to Fisherman’s wharf. I’m a bit early for dinner, but I did get a snack crepe of crab, veggies, and cheese…which was interesting at best…

Since I don’t eat much of that it’s also necessary to get some taro ice cream.

 Continuing in the direction of the golden gate bridge, I pass Ghirardelli Square. In front of the square is a small beach area with ships & what I’m surprised to see are people swimming in the Very cold pacific.
