I know I'm just a simple girl with too much time on my hands (I made sure to have too much time so I could dedicate myself to higher purposes (fanfictions)) 😂🙏

Raising Alec

Omg yay I get to talk more about this!! Okay so I explained the premise here but here's a few fun facts about this fic:

- Theo is deeply sleep deprived (even more so now that he gets woken up by Alec's screams in the middle of the night every day) so he takes dad naps all the time and yet denies ever taking them. Alec thinks it's funny and, so, when Liam can tell his dreams are starting to turn into nightmares (his heartbeat spiking and slight movements), he gently wakes him up in a way that doesn't alert Alec that anything was ever wrong.

- Theo reads children books in this fic coz Liam learned that all he read were theory books with the DD so he made it his mission to give the chimera children books recs all the time. They go to the library together :3

- Corey visits one day and realizes that Theo and Liam are very much Alec's Parents and he's like 😶👀 and he immediately texts Mason: what the fuck????!!! babe!!! i’m in a sitcom!!! a STRAIGHT sitcom!!! what happened to them??

Chimera!Liam/FirstBeta!Theo

Okay so I really like this fic! I just find it super cool to see all the ways that Liam and Theo differ in their switched roles :)) Also Theo and Liam actually know each other from before Liam left BH. They spent a night being interrogated by the police for a petty crime when they were 8-9 yo. So anyway, I'll just fire at you a couple of my facts about this fic!

-Theo is held back a year coz he spent too much time at the hospital before Scott finally gave him the bite so he's in the same year as Mason, Liam, Hayden,... And he's basically bff with Hayden.

-Theo is *simping*!! Hard!! Andddd he's completely love-struck so he's like "No, Stiles, this guy who I'd find super sus any other day is sooooooo good and sooooo nice! How dare you say anything bad about my husband? I mean, Liam."

-Theo is a nerd and an insect nerd at that!! He loves bugs and learns all the different latin names for each species. Liam thinks it's cute. 🥰

-Liam doesn't have much of a plan (nothing like Theo seemed to have in canon), he just tries to get the pack's trust in case he needs to make them look away some point later. He's also not a soldier or spy for the DD but more of a cleaning person. He does all the small things they can't be bothered to do like clean the blood, retranscript some notes in the test subjects' files or run some small errands. That's how he made sure they'd want to keep him around.

-Liam knows that Mason would be the perfect test subject to be a chimera so he burns his hospital file before the DD can see it. He's also very excited to see his best friend again even if it means he needs to hide everything that he's become.

-Theo holds resentment towards Scott (even if he's one of his closest friends) because he let him rot in his hospital bed for almost a year before he finally decided that maybe seeing his friends die wasn't a good idea. In many ways, Theo owes Allison a debt of gratitude because her death made Scott come to his senses and bite Theo before it was too late. He just thinks that maybe, if Scott had bit him earlier, then he could've been there to protect Allison instead of lying in a bed, struggling to catch his breath.

False confidence

Theo is now 15, he's a complete soldier, merciless and obedient. He's not just some toy the dread doctors use, he's part of the team… or so he thought. But all his confidence shatters when they bring a new specimen to experiment on. (👀👀 Moi? Writing a half!werewolf half!werebear Liam chimera??? Maybe so😏)

“They won't keep you here long. They just want to know if you'd be a good fit for their research.”

Experiment might be too scary a word. 

“What?” His voice cracks. “What research?”

Theo pauses to think but there’s really no way to nicely spin this. “They need a certain body to complete it. It probably won't be you.” 

Liam frowns at the insane talk. Still, he is who he is and he can’t help but feel insulted by Theo’s obvious disregard. There’s an air of superiority in Theo's voice and body that ticks Liam the wrong way. He looks back at him with an angry tear-filled stare and a scoff.

“Well, I bet it wasn't you either.”

+++(if we're talking of Noah Kahan's song... Then yes, the song inspired the title!! Plus it could very much be applicable to this freaking angsty fic 😂. Theo thinks he's a stone cold killer but like... the first chapter is titled "Welcome to Stockholm. Population: 1")

👀👀👀👀👀 *cranks the Writing Mode and it shrieks in Rust but it starts working nonetheless* alright, lets get to work.

Rockstar!Liam (context: Country singer superstar Scott McCall asks Theo, a friend he hasn't seen in years, to help him with his protégé Liam. The younger singer is spinning out of control and Scott doesn't know what else to do. Maybe if Theo can make Liam stay sober and actually show up to do his job, it won't be so bad.)

Theo walks towards the hotel elevator, a litany of I don't want to do this. I'll just quit the job. I don't want to do this. Fuck Scott. I don't want to do this. playing in his head.

Walking hurriedly towards the room, Theo has decided to shake some sense into this gremlin in one swift night so that Scott might not beg him to stay with the diva 24/7. Swiping the hotel key the staff just gave him, Theo enters room 707 with enough rage to whip a hundred brats into shape with a single stare. He stops when he hears a crunch under his shoe, barely a few feet into the room. Looking down, he lets out a groan. Broken mirror. How original!  

He tries to sweep it with his shoe towards the bathroom where the mess came from but he’s more concerned by the fact that no one heard him come in. 

“Anyone there?!”

There’s no one in the bathroom but the tv is on so he walks towards the sound. The large room is dark and quiet besides the blue light of the screen. What's stranger is that the bed is empty. In the sense that there's nothing on it. No covers, no nothing. 

“...Scott sent me,” Theo says to the quiet room, the tv set so low it’s barely a whisper. 

“Did you bring food?” a small voice asks from the couch. 

Shocked, Theo turns to the sofa he’d originally dismissed to find that, amongst the mountain of covers, there’s Liam Dunbar. Theo has difficulty believing what he's seeing after he just heard Scott talking for an hour about how unmanageable Liam is. Theo walks in front of the couch. Comfortably settled into a cocoon of blankets and pillows, the “monstrous diva” is looking at the tv, changing channels every couple of seconds, mesmerized, his mouth open and his eyes glossy and empty. 

Looking around in disbelief, Theo doesn’t trust this calmness. This is suspiciously quiet. And besides the broken mirror, the room is not that badly out of shape. The countless empty bottles are all neatly placed on a counter space, engulfing it like a sea of tainted glass. Theo can’t make sense of this. Who the hell is so wasted they can’t even recognize that there’s a stranger in their room and yet makes sure not to clutter the floor? 

“Did you bring f-” Liam almost asks again, having forgotten that he already did, before he stops for a moment when he finally raises his eyes to look at the man in front of him. He frowns, obviously not all there. “Do I know you?”

“No,” Theo offers honestly and his eyes are analyzing the place. Which bottles are opened, if there's food around, any potential drug, or even other people. He's been surprised by more than one unconscious groupie or “friend” to not check now. 

“Okay.” Liam shrugs before changing the channel yet again. 

“Are you alone?”

“Can you get me some food? Like uh…” Liam quickly gets frustrated of searching for something and he passes a heavy hand over his face. “I don't know, just pick whatever you want and get me the same.” 

Theo rolls his eyes but Liam is obviously not sober enough to be talked to so he forgets about telling him the “great news” of his recent employment by Scott. For now, he guesses that putting food in the musician's stomach might not be the worst idea. He sits down on the armchair and takes his phone out. 

“Hamburgers or waffles?” 

Liam turns to look at him like he's an angel who just descended from heaven. 

“I love you,” he proclaims openly, his eyes wide and shining. 

Theo snorts. “Yeah, well, you won't love me tomorrow.” 

Liam doesn't even have the brains to ask him what he means by that, he's back to changing channels again. He stops when an episode of The Simpsons comes on and he stares at it. He’s so mesmerized by it, Theo thinks he might not be breathing. 

Alright, Theo knew this was going to be a babysitter job but he sincerely didn't think it would be so eerily similar.

DBT (Dunbar blames Theo) (I love this fic so much. Liam's dumbass brain really gets to shine here and it's such a blessing!!)

"And it's like he appears and disappears all the time. Where is he going? Where did he come from? And what's up with all those clothes he suddenly has? Where did he find the money? Did he steal them? If he's shoplifting, what else is he doing? And why is he being so friendly with everyone all the time? He's always chatting it up with Alec or Corey as if they've always been the best of friends. And he's always looking at me and talking to me. What is his plan? He obviously has one. If I could just-"

"Liam," his therapist finally stops him, "maybe we could focus on you for a little while."

"What do you mean?" This is prime information he's been giving her. This is what's important right now.

She smiles at him kindly.

"You've been talking about Theo for half an hour. Which is alright, you seem to have a lot of… complicated feelings about him. But I'd like to talk about those feelings instead. Let's focus on you."

Liam has never been more embarrassed in his life.

Raising Alec (for a summary check here)

Despite the fact that Alec is almost trying to disappear within himself, shrinking more and more into the armchair, the boy still stops their conversation. Alec doesn't look them in the eyes as he says, “I don't need much, I mean I was with Scott for three days and-”

“You've been with Scott for three days?” Liam screams in disbelief. “Where are your other clothes? Did you even take a shower? What the hell did he do for-”

Theo puts a hand in front of Liam, shushing him harshly. Ignoring the stink eye Liam sends him in return, Theo takes a pen and paper and gives them to Alec. “Write down everything you can think of that you need or will need. Spare no expenses. It's not a problem. We'll be right back.”

Telepathically sending him an enormous question mark, Liam is momentarily appeased when he sees Theo get up and ask him silently to join him. Both standing on the balcony, Liam waits for Theo to say something but, as he waits, he keeps glancing inside at Alec staring at the piece of paper with anguish.

Liam looks back at Theo and he doesn't look much better. The chimera is drinking his coffee like it's the only thing keeping him alive, like people smoke a cigarette. There are bruises under his eyes which shouldn't be possible since he has healing abilities but Liam was never good in science so he doesn't know if that logic holds.

“I don't have any money, neither do you or Scott. How are we-”

“I'll text Peter, he owes me a huge favor.”

That shuts Liam off quite well but it's mostly the shock.

“Peter?” Liam asks nervously, his eyes wide. “Since when does he owe you anything?”

“Oh, you don't want to know about that.” He takes another sip. “But it should be enough to get us started.” Theo needs to pause yet again as he yawns. “Then, I'll text Derek to get the apartment next door for Alec. And you… should get me more coffee because we're gonna need to do a lot of shopping and I didn't sleep at all.”

Theo barely has the time to finish his sentence before he's suddenly trapped between two strong arms. Puzzled and shocked, Theo freezes. He's tense but a small grin tugs at his lips and Theo lets it happen. Liam can't see it anyway.

“I'm glad you're here.”

The chimera doesn't know what to say and his body doesn't melt as much as he just overheats while he stays very still in the warm embrace. No one has ever told him that before.

Cupid (Alec's version) (for more there's also this one)

“Can you do me a favor?” Cupid looks at him in surprise but shrugs, waiting for the specifics before agreeing to anything. “Can you fix Theo's shit? His big crush on Liam is seriously getting on my nerves.”

“Oh, old news, Alec. I fixed that last week!”

Alec blinks at them for a few seconds. “You what? But they didn't…” It takes him a moment for him to remember that the pair has been standing an inch closer than usual in the past week. It only makes Alec even angrier. “No one ever tells me shit!”

Cupid gets up with a small twinkling laugh.

“So you're gonna leave now?” Alec asks, frowning at them.

Cupid's sigh transform into a chuckle as they shake their head. “Oh no, I’ve got way more work here.”

Alec groans and Cupid makes a face at him because… weren't they having a nice chat? What's with the attitude?

“No offense, dude, it's just that it feels like Valentine's Day every day since you've been here and it's actually pissing me off.”

Finding logic in this, they shrug with a thin apologetic smile. “Sorry but it's a mess here. I'm not done.”

Finally, Alec's gloomy face eases as he laughs. “Yeah, tell me something I don't know.”

First Chimera!Liam and First Beta!Theo (context for this: Theo is absolutely love struck the second he sees Liam. Also, he has trouble accepting the wolf so he's not as athletic as Scott. He's often cold even if werewolves run hot and he has trouble shifting. Other recent posts about this here and here.)

“I would've thought you'd want to join the team. Sure, you have to practice but, you know, fantastic genes also help,” Liam says with a big nudge nudge in his tone.

“Well, I can't-” Shit. “I can. I mean, of course, I can. I can! Yeah, it's just… personal preferences.”

Liam smiles at him. “Right, I forgot you were a nerd.”

Theo feels all weird as he continues looking at Liam’s smile. He’s not the one who just did suicide laps for 10 minutes and yet, he feels hot everywhere. This is so stupid. He just needs to get a grip. How do people do this?

He clears his throat. “Anyway, uh… Congratulations on making the team.”

“Yeah, it’s not official but… the coach would be pretty stupid not to take me in.”

Theo is a bit shocked by the confidence although he has to admit it’s not ill-placed. He opens his mouth to warn Liam not to underestimate Coach’s stupidity but a voice suddenly screeches not too far from there and he knows who it belongs to. Sadly enough.

“HEY, PRINCESS!!! DID YOU WANT A LIFT OR NOT!?”

Theo groans and lets his face drop.

“YOUR CARRIAGE WON’T WAIT ALL NIGHT, CINDERELLA!!!”

Turning around to face his sister honking furiously, Theo can’t help but scream back.

“YOU MEAN MY TRUCK!?”

“OUR TRUCK, ASSHOLE!”

“TELL THAT TO THE ASSURANCE PEOPLE! OH WAIT, YOU CAN’T! ‘CAUSE YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DRIVE, FELON!”

“I CAN DRIVE! I JUST NEED TO BE ACCOMPANIED! NOW, COME HERE BEFORE I MAKE YOU DISCOVER THE WONDERS OF HITCHHIKING!”

Theo sighs before he sees Liam’s wide eyes pointing at him.

“Uh… That’s my sister. And my truck. I… Bye!”

Theo dashes away, not giving Liam a second look. Fuck, he must think he's such a loser! Looking cool and suave is much easier when you don't have a sister looking to embarrass you at the first chance she gets!

“I was coming!” Theo says angrily at his sister as soon as he gets in the car.

“Didn’t Stiles say that guy was bad news?” Malia asks, her tone more curious than reproachful.

Theo jumps, only now noticing Malia in the backseat.

“What are you doing here?!”

Malia shrugs. “Tara’s here,” she says like that’s all that needs to be said.
