a/n: been obsessed with resident evil for a while now so i just wanted to do this for my re fanss ;)) also ik the pics i chose are from re4 just go with it.

you were in your apartment folding laundry in the living room. the tv was turned on as re-runs of tv shows played in the background. all of a sudden, “BREAKING NEWS” displayed over your television screen. as you got closer to the tv, you heard screams and bangs coming from your complex. “we interrupt this broadcast as Raccoon City has fallen victim to a mysterious virus spreading throughout the city. We advise all residents to take shelter and gather resources in case of evacuation.” the broadcast lost signal and the screen was now black.

you were terrified by this news as you lived alone and had little to no knowledge about what to do in a situation like this. then, a bang on your door startled you and almost caused you to have a heart attack. “who’s there??” you shouted out the most cliche horror movie question but there was no response. you got closer to the door, tip-toeing all the way to your peephole. you looked through and saw a man standing there but he didn’t look like a man. his skin was pale as a ghost and he was missing his right arm. you gasped and ran towards your window to escape.

when you got to the front of your apartment complex , you ran left towards a gas station hoping that someone would be able to help. once you got there, it was pitch black and there didn’t seem to be anyone inside. you walked around before hearing screams coming from the backroom. gunshots go off as you run to take cover. all of a sudden, a man runs out and grabs you. "IT'S NOT SAFE HERE LET'S GO!" he screamed as he pushed outside towards his car. you went inside and finally got a good look of him. even in the situation, you noticed how attractive he was but tried not to focus too much on that. "thank you so much. i'm so confused! what is happening?!" you asked him as he drove out of the gas station and onto the road. "i could ask you the same thing! listen it's my first day on the job and this shit happens. i must have great luck i guess."he rolled his eyes and tried to find a safe place for you both.

"the news reporter said something about a virus but i always thought a virus would just mean a cold or something not FUCKING zombies!" you screamed as you still tried to grasp what was happening. the man could tell you were shaking from anxiety and pulled over. "hey hey it's okay. whatever happens i'll make sure we both get out of here safe and sound. it's my job." you smiled at him and felt your heart rate go down. "thanks for that. it was sweet. what's your name?" "Leon. Leon S. Kennedy. yours?" "y/n. you have a cute name leon." you noticed leon started to blush and put his hand on your shoulder. "if we make it out of here alive, can i take you out on a date?"

you were taken back by what he said. one because you two had just met and second you were both in the middle of a life or death situation. "umm yeah sure i would love to." you both smiled at each other as leon turned to the road and found an exit out of raccoon city. after a while, he found a motel that was vacant and the two of you went inside to rest. "how about we just stay here for the night and get some rest?" he asked you as he took off his shirt and pants and went into bed. "i mean yeah sure if that's okay." the two of you laid in bed as leon kissed your forehead and wrapped his arms around you. "i'm so glad i met you tonight. we're gonna be okay i promise. just get some rest y/n." he reassured you with another kiss on your shoulder. you turned and kissed him on the lips. "thank you leon. so after all of this is over, where are we going for our first date?"

Both of you always knew it was risky.

Going on missions even though both of you were fully trained to handle all of the situations you might get into. It seemed like it'll be the usual route. With your husband, Leon it always was easy to handle situations, you were always with him. Well not this time.

You were stubborn on wanting to go on two different paths to get the job done quicker, it took some time to have Leon agree with you. He never liked you being alone on a mission even if you could handle things alone and yourself. After Leon agreed with you. His condition was that you go on the route that seems less dangerous. As you were walking, a strange feeling was creeping up on you, like someone was watching you. You just focused more on your surroundings, trying to keep an open eye for anything that could jump you. A voice spoke from your walkie-talkie, it was Leon.

"Y/N, sweetheart, is everything alright on your side?" He asked concerned for your safety. You pressed the button on your walkie-talkie, and answered his question.

"Yeah, Leon i just have a weird gut feeling nothing much. I'm almost at the destination, is everything okay at you too?" You asked back, still paying your full attention to your surroundings, you could see the building from where you were standing now.

You heard some noise from the walkie-talkie before you heard his voice. "Everything's fine over here, don't worry, darling. I can see the building now, let's try to find two different entrance so we can make sure everything's fine before we continue." You agreed to the plan and went closer and closer to the building.

You arrived at the building, searching for an entrance. You saw a broken window, you thought that'd be your entrance. You climbed up, carefully, after you made your way up to the window and climbed in, you searched for your flashlight and also equipped your pistol for any unwanted surprise. You pressed the button on the walkie-talkie again, updating Leon about your whereabouts in the building.

You searched the room you were in for any signs that could help your mission. you saw that there was a way up to the attic, the old, rotten wooden floor made some not so promising noise as you walked over to the entrance of the attic. As you climbed up on the ladder, you heard some noise coming from inside, that just made you more concerned. You positioned yourself so you could shoot if something was up. As you opened up the door an infected jumped on you, making you lose your balance. You fire your gun but your bullets weren't precise, you fell down, but the rotten floor cracked under your and the infected weight making it break as you fight not to get bitten by it. As you fall through the floor you fall into a wood piece, making you scream in pain, as you fought through the pain the infected falls off of you. Your eyes were too blurry to see much from the tears slowly making it's way down your face.

Leon immediately rushed over to you as soon as he heard the gun shots you fired when you discovered the hidden infected. His heart raced with worry as he saw the extent of your injuries after he saved you. However, he knew he had to remain calm and focused in order to assess the situation properly, he quickly knelt down, carefully assessing the wounds and checking to see if there was anything he could do to help you. "Y/n, darling, are you okay? Can you move?" He held your hand as you were laying there impaled by a wooden piece. You groaned in pain and tried to sit up, but winced in agony. "H-how would I b-be okay... You n-need to help me pull the wooden piece out." You choked out, stuttered, trying to put on a brave face for Leon. Leon placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, trying to reassure you. "Just lie still. Let me take a look at your injuries." He began inspecting the wounds, his hand ran through your body looking for other injuries. noticing the deep cut from the wood and some other smaller cuts and some cuts on your left thigh.

"These cuts on your thigh look bad." He muttered, using some bandages he had to try and staunch the bleeding. "We need to get you back to safety as soon as possible darling." He carefully picked you up, being mindful of your wounds and carried you outside to a safer area.

Once you two were outside, he sat you down on a patch of grass and took a moment to catch his breath. He knew he needed to act quickly and efficiently in order to ensure your safety. He turned to you and spoke in a serious but caring tone. "Sweetheart, I need you to tell me exactly where you're hurt. I need to know the extent of your injuries to help you." He placed a hand on your knee caressing it while paying attention to you.

You winced and nodded, trying to focus on answering his question. "My side really hurts, we need to get that wooden piece out and stitch me up." you said through gritted teeth.

"Does anything else hurts, darling?" He asked inspecting your wound again and placed a hand on your injury.

"Right now nothing else hurts. Just my side." You tried to get the words out of you as fast as you can to make the process faster. Leon nodded in understanding, taking note of all of the areas of your injury. "Alright, let's take care of the bleeding first." He grabbed clean cloth and began wrapping it around your worst wound, applying pressure to stop the bleeding.

As he worked, he couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt and regret for allowing you, his wife to participate in the mission in the first place. He knew it was dangerous, but you had insisted on going on different paths. He hated seeing you hurt.

Maybe it was a lesson for him to listen to his gut feelings next time.

Hi there. I didn't "present a scenario," I simply posted what I'd seen in DM. Alice Panikian was DMed by someone asking her if she was dating Sam. I'm sure Alice thought it was one of her fans and didn't think anything of answering. For those who are shocked she would answer, like I said before, some people answer random DMs and some don't. She is NOT the first woman to have dated Sam who's answered fans' DMs. Off the top of my head, the other Sam exes who have answered fan DMs are: Amy Shiels, Cody Kennedy, Abbie Salt, Mackenzie Mauzy (one of her friends also answered DMs), Gia Marie (two of her friends also answered DMs), and I'm sure others I can't remember.

As for what pics Sam sent Alice... Since I promised the person who showed me the DMs that I wouldn't post them, I won't, but I will quote the one where Alice references Sam sending her pics. This is what Alice said when asked if she was dating Sam. "He followed me and slid into my DM's, let's just say he's sent me some photos and messages 😊 yes we are talking every day. We are planning more."

That's all she said with regard to pics he sent. Make of it what you will...🤷‍♀️🤗 But to your point about sexy pics of Sam already being out there. That's very different than Sam sending her something that's JUST FOR HER, whether just a sexy face shot, body shot, or something more. 😉 Lucky lass, indeed.

SO, WHO IS THE SONG MINE ABOUT?

A couple of years ago I read this comment on r/Taylor Swift about Taylor dating a non famous guy who attended Belmont University.

I started college in Nashville in 2010, and the semester before I started, it was well known that Taylor was seeing a guy who lived on campus. It never made headlines because he wasn’t a celebrity like her other relationships. I have seen lots of random explanations for “Mine,” but many students at the university always assumed it was about this guy because the timeline fit.

At the time, I didn't think much of it. I thought that it could've been possible but still, the theory of Mine being about Cory Monteith made more sense to me.

While I was writing the Speak Now Timeline, one of the most important interviews was the Billboard one:

"Mine" was a turning point in the album’s development. It wasn’t until early 2010 when the album truly began to coalesce. Swift presented "Mine" to Borchetta in his office, just a few doors down the hall from the leather couch in the lobby. "We probably played that song four or five times," Borchetta recalls. "I’m jumping around playing air guitar, she’s singing the song back to me, and it was just one of those crazy, fun, Taylor teen-age moments." And then it got serious. "I said, ‘Keep going,’ " Borchetta says. "She kind of looked at me like, ‘You’re challenging me.’ And I said, ‘Yeah. You’ve found true north here. Keep going.’ " It was some time in the period after that challenge — between February and June — that Swift wrote “Innocent,” her response to the Kanye West incident.

That settled it then, no? Mine was written in late February, after Taylor had returned from Tokyo.

My certainties crumbled a few weeks ago, when @1989worldtour sent me an interview where Taylor says that she wrote Mine on the road, specifically in Texas.

Back To December was written in New York City, The Story Of Us was in Nashville, I wrote Mine somewhere on the road, I think in Texas, actually. (X)

Taylor was in Texas on March 10th (in Austin), March 11th (Dallas), and March 12th (Corpus Christi) for the Fearless Tour. At first, this didn't make any sense to me: Taylor had said that she wrote Mine in February! Then again, she often misremembers dates. I had shelved this date in my mind until I randomly found this comment on r/Fauxmoi while I was researching Starlight and the Kennedy craze Taylor went through.

She dated a guy from Belmont I think because a family friend went there and was friends with him and was there the night they met! “By the water” in Mine is apparently about Mozarts - a coffee shop in Austin on the water where they went on a date. I have no way to verify this because it didn’t happen to me but the family friend had pics with Taylor and stuff because of this guy she was friends with who dated Taylor. This might be the only piece of celeb gossip I’ve ever known haha.

Reply: This is true! He's now married with kids and not at all famous.

The return of the Belmont guy! We have two other sources claiming that she dated a non-famous person who attended Belmont. The mention of Texas cemented the fact that there might be a kernel of truth in this theory. At this point, I took this rumor seriously and chose to investigate further. the next question was, if Belmont is in Nashville and the Mozart bar is in Texas, didn't the guy miss a lot of classes? The answer is... no. If you look at the Belmont Academic Calendar, guess when Spring Break was? From March 8th to March 15th! So even if the guy was in college, he didn't miss any classes. There's was plenty of time for him to fly to Texas, attend the show, going on a date at the Mozart bar and then fly back to Nashville.

There's another problem though: according to the Billboard interview, Taylor brought Mine to Scott Borchetta in late February. We don't actually have a direct quote from Taylor or Borchetta saying that it was February. It could be Taylor or Scott misremembering, It could be the journalist inferring (it has happened before, for example on this Rolling Stone article from 2009, where the author said that Love Story and White Horse were for the same person, for some weird reason). After all, late February and early March aren't that far away. Nathan Chapman, the producer of the song, said that they worked on Mine on and off for 4 months. They finished it on July 21st, so March 10th still tracks.

Now, let's look at the actual bar. on the left, we have a screenshot from the Music Video, while on the right, a picture of the Mozart Bar. they look very similar to me, but I admit that I've never been to the USA, so maybe coffee shops all look the same?

Fun fact: The Mozart bar confirmed that she has been there in May 2013, after the Red Tour show.

Conclusions: Honestly, I believe those people on Reddit, but I realise that the sources are very unstable. What makes me believe it though, is the obscure mention of Mine being written in Texas, and the person on Reddit revealing that they had a date at a bar that casually is by the water. It fits perfectly. I don't have any more to say for now, but it's possible that I'll write a post of how Mine is one of the first post John Mayer song and how that relationship affected the themes of her songwriting.

P.S.: I would advise not contacting these people on Reddit. it's obvious that they're friends with him/know him and they wouldn't say anything to help identifying him. plus, it's not our place to gather information about a person that wants anonymity. it's not cool to doxx random people.

Nancy Drew Season 4 Trailer Part 5

OK, I took a break from my insanely detailed and speculative look into the trailer, Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 here, but I’m back with more. I’ve been focused on the final full chapter of The Space Between - I’m still determined to get it out before the premiere (JUST 😅).

The next shot is this lovely one of Nancy encountering a crone in Icarus Hall with George looking at something else. Is this a ‘standalone mystery’ ghost, or is it tied to the Icarans we get next in the trailer? The ghost of a Hudson ancestor perhaps?

Now while we haven’t seen George’s full wardrobe look in any behind the scenes photos (although I think it’s the result of her Wheezie from Dragon Tales look), we DID see it in the anti-cyber bullying spot she was in along with Tunji, Maddison, and Riley.

I’ll get back to what this means for which episode this scene is from in a moment. But first, here’s why Kennedy is the ultimate scream queen:

Next we get to THE SPIDER (SKIP DOWN NOW IF YOU MUST). @NancyDrewGIFS on Twitter has gotten so much detail in these trailer scenes, you can actually see there are three people in the Historical Society scene - Nick on the left being trampled (hopefully not too badly), Bess in the middle, and someone else in white behind Nick:

We actually got a glimpse of this white top before in BTS - it was hanging in the closet when Maddison posted from her trailer about starting Episode 7 filming.

It’s also from the same timeframe as the “team meeting” the cast had (out of costume) at the beginning of Episode 7 filming. There was also a shot of 2 stand-ins on the HS porch in the same blog post - they look like George and either Ace or Ryan’s stand-in. Could they be entering the scene of the giant spider’s path?

We also got a BTS photo of what looked like Game Night in Icarus Hall from the same setting as the Nancy and Ace shot in IH above.

The BTS pics and the filming of the promo spot timeframe point to all three of the scenes from the trailer being in Episode 7. So do we get the giant spider (I have zero ideas about this particular monster other than ugh), ghost encounter, Game Night, and Nancy and Ace suffering/hung over from a curse breaking gone wrong all in one episode?

I may be wrong and the scenes span over more than one episode, e.g. if Nancy and Ace get knocked out/die a little, it’s possible they don’t change clothes. But pacing wise I totally believe all of this could happen in one episode, esp. in S4 where they seem to be pulling out all the stops.

I’m good with it all, cannot wait to see it all unfold!!

I finally got to visit John Fitzgerald Kennedy NHS in Brookline today, after it was closed for repairs for the past two years! The house isn’t very big, but Ranger Johana still gave a great tour.

Of course I wore the new NASA socks that I got at the Museum of Science yesterday.

I spotted these 1910s-vintage issues of National Geographic in the parlor. (One of the first Geographic articles I read as a kid, almost 100 years later, was about the discovery of the PT-109 wreck!)

Away from the main streets, Brookline is pretty quiet and shady, a nice neighborhood to bike in on a sunny Friday. I did a little cycle touring to find the other sites mentioned in the NPS brochure.

JFK was born in the house on Beals Street, but he actually spent more of his childhood at this bigger house a few streets away. It’s not open to the public, but the current owners have some really beautiful gardening that attracted butterflies.

St. Aiden’s Church is a private home today.

The Florida Ruffin Ridley School where JFK and his siblings went was actually having a charity carnival when I went by, so it was really cute getting to see all the kids running around going on rides and playing games.

(Did you know there’s a Greek consulate right next to Cheers? I’ve been by the Common dozens of times in the past two years and I only noticed that on the ride home.)

- Mrs. Sharp is an RSO musical Alex was in, you may have seen his prefomance of "What I Wouldn’t Do For You" at the Kennedy Center, but Alex was also in a semi-staged version of this show in 2007! Here's another version of "What I Wouldn’t Do For You" and "G'nite Jake". There's more information on the shows plot on RSO's website.

- The Boundaries was Alex's podcast about the boundaries of comedy, from what I understand it was lighthearted discussions about comedy taboos. Thanks to the fairly generic name and the fact that it's website has probably been deleted for years, it's completely lost. The only reason I know it exists is because he was credited with it in this article and I know he's mentioned the podcast in passing before but I can't for the life of me recall which interview/podcast he brought it up on.

- Who Gives a Sh!t? Chatting w/ (M)orons was a 7 episode podcast that Drew and Alex did, sometimes accompanied by the other two (M)orons. It's the episodes are completely lost just like Boundaries, but you can find the website episode descriptions here on the internet archive. You have no idea how badly I wish it was still accessible.

A Very Star Wars Christmas

I said I’d post about this last week when I got home, but I ended up coming down with a cold instead (not COVID, I’ve tested three times in the last six days, thankfully) and haven’t felt like doing anything.  So here’s a post the first post of at least two, maybe three, about my family Christmas with a lot of info about the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser and just some family stuff mixed in.

I haven’t seen my Brother/SIL/Niblings since 2019.  This is partially due to COVID and partially due to Patchy’s health and partially due to just... inertia.  I don’t feel great about it.

But ever since the Starcruiser thing was announced my mom really wanted to go on it.  My mom is the original Star Wars nerd in our family.  She saw it in the theater as much as she could.  She snuck out with a friend of hers to see Empire Strikes Back without us kids, and then the next day both my brother and I and the neighbor’s kids had “surprise dental appointments” wherein our dentist was watching Luke Skywalker find out that Darth Vader is his dad.  Then we went for ice cream.  It was a great day.  We had similar dentist appointments for Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars (and Star Trek, even more so) were both revered in our house by both our mom (our dad liked them but was more of a fan of like, motorcycles and working on cars) my brother and I.

My SIL also liked Star Wars, and the four niblings (Oldest boy 12, then boy/girl twins 10, then youngest boy 8) have been brought into the Star Wars fold.  Also along for the ride was my aunt (mom’s sister), so all told there were 10 in the family, all going to Star Wars for Christmas.

This was like, a thing my mom really wanted to do with the whole family as soon as it became a thing.  We definitely do not usually take crazy expensive vacations, believe me.  I wouldn’t have done this by myself because the price is eye-popping and my parents are usually pretty frugal.  This was my mom doing a bucket-list item, for herself and for all of us.  And we all loved it, a lot.

Mom and Dad have a very big, nice RV they live out of most of the year.  Aunt has a smaller but also nice RV she lives in most of the time (they all also have a house near-ish me they spend the rest of the time in.)  They stayed at an RV park near Disney that also rented out cottages. 

Bro, SIL and the kids actually went down to Florida from their more northern home state early December, and rented one of the cottages for most of December.  Nothing fancy, but a small living room with a couch and a chair, a dining room table that seated 4, a small but functional kitchen (no dishwasher), one bath, one full bedroom, and a loft with four beds for the kids.  It was about twenty steps from walking out of one of the RVs to the cottage so, very convenient. 

My brother worked from “home” for a couple of weeks while SIL and the parents took the kids places like Kennedy Space Center, the Children’s museum, other not-too-expensive adventures nearby, and some expensive like a couple of days at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and LegoLand.  Again, once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip. They knew that this was their Christmas present from their mom and dad, and Starcruiser was their present from Grandma. 

Grandpa bought them lightsabers (and Rey’s Jakku weapon) for Christmas at Magic Kingdom.  The plastic kind, not the build-your-own kind.

I missed most of that because I had to be at home, working.  But I flew to Orlando on the 21st. I was supposed to get there with enough time to spend time with the family that night, but the airplane that we were supposed to fly in on got grounded for mechanical troubles.  Three gate changes and almost two hours later, I flew out and everyone was asleep when my Aunt came and picked me up.  I had some credits on American Airlines and splurged and upgraded to First Class and yes, it was expensive but yes, it was very nice and roomy and the charcuterie plate for dinner was better than expected.  I wanted a once-in-a-lifetime experience, too.  And after two and a half years of not traveling (except once on the company dime), I was OK with it.

I stayed with my aunt in her RV since she likes sleeping in her nice recliner, I slept in the bedroom and was glad I brought Advil PM to actually sleep through most of the night.  The next morning I got dressed in the outfit I’d created for myself out of things I already owned: the boots, pants, and leather belt, and things I bought online: this awesome shirt, this incredible vest, some leather belt pouches and bracer, some cheap but cute goggles, and my most favorite thing: a light-up Kyber Crystal engraved with my SWFFG character’s name in Arabesh.  It all went together to create my Smuggler outfit, and overall, I thought I looked great and got a few compliments.

Anyway, I was proud of putting together halfway decent cosplay, and without the belt pouches, goggles and bracer, it’d probably be a pretty good everyday outfit anyway.  On Starcruiser you are highly encouraged to dress the part, but your part is like, just Some Person Who Lives in A Galaxy Far Far Away. So you can have yourself a name (I told people my Star Wars FFG character’s name) but you aren’t supposed to be like, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Annakin Skywalker, Rey, Finn, Poe etc etc.  You are a character, not the character.  So here I was, a legitimate businesswoman on Starcruiser to perform totally legitimate business.

My mom, aunt and dad were envoys from Coruscant.  The kids were all Jedi including my niece, who was a twilek Jedi for about the first hour until her lekku got too hot and then she basically looked like my smuggler’s assistant.  My SIL made her own dress based off Leia’s from the end of The Force Awakens and it looked great, and she made my brother’s outfit.  No, he’s totally not freshly escaped from Narkina 5, why do you ask? 

Seriously though, first of all big shoutout to my SIL because she made all the costumes for herself, my bro and the kids and they all looked great.  Also my brother’s costume killed at Starcruiser.  He had people going up and getting pictures with him, yelling “ON PROGRAM!” at him, joking about how it was nice he finally found some shoes, etc.  It wasn’t really timeline-fitting since Starcruiser happens between TLJ and TRoS but it didn’t matter.  With Andor fresh in everyone’s minds, he was a huge hit.

So, you can’t arrive to Starcruiser til 1pm on your first day, so I did get some quality hanging out time with the family beforehand.  I mostly hung out in the cottage with bro/SIL and the kids after having breakfast with my parents in their RV.  We loaded up the cars a little early and made our way towards Disney.  Good thing, too, because not only did we miss a turn thanks to bad GPS connection, but there was a serious lack of signs pointing towards where to go until you were close, and then another lack of signs of where to go after that, haha. 

Anyway, we were still one of the first five cars to get there, which worked out for us because our group was so big (a lot of the staff went “TEN!?” when they asked how big our party was) so it took a lot to get all our stuff out of the cars, to get everyone together, to get all our stuff TO us etc.

So how the security stuff works is with the MagicBand.  It’s sorta like a watch but not really.  You just put ‘em on your wrist and you can pay for stuff with them, and also they’re your room key and ID to get to places.  You also use them to complete quests on Starcruiser and in Galaxy’s Edge, the Star Wars part of Hollywood Studios, but more on that later.

We took that first pic of the post, then headed in... except my brother and I couldn’t because something was wrong with our magic bands and it took a good 20 minutes to sort out, and we still had to bring our ID around with us to the park the next day.  Basically, originally my mom booked two rooms for the ten of us then went ahead and booked one more room for a total of three, (and yes, feel free to do the math on that.  For the next-to-last time, a once-in-a-lifetime type of trip.)  But moving everyone around to new rooms really glitched something in their systems and at one point my mom had a very unhelpful rep on the phone when making reservations who she thinks screwed things up.  We ended up with two accounts and they had to get merged and.. hoooo boy it was a mess not only here, but a little while later, too.

SO ANYWAY.  Finally we get in, about 45 minutes after we arrived.  And I should say, the staff was great, they were dealing with a lot.  I did gently suggest to one guy to maybe call a supervisor (in a very “hey, man, you’re dealing with a lot, is there someone who could get you some backup?” way, not a “LET ME TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR!!” way) and once that happened the supervisor got it sorted and we got in.

So, basically, the second you’re inside and done dealing with security, it’s like... man... you are IN STAR WARS.  You’re THERE.

You get into a “shuttlepod” (elevator) which transports you from the surface of Coresaunt to the Halcyon Starcruiser.  And not only does it transport you, but you can “see out” two little windows at the top and your shuttlepod flies up through the clouds, briefly jumps to lightspeed(?) and then you see the Halcyon on the screen and.. you dock.  And the doors open.  And holy shit, you’re on a spaceship.

I’m sorry this is the best pic we have of the experience, my mom took this one, that’s my head there with the goggles, but that’s us leaving the planet. 

Yes, it’s a video on a TV screen but holy shit even that little elevator feels like a very Star Wars experience that you’re in a real little shuttlepod.  Except that there’s handrails, lol.

So um, you walk out of the shuttlepod to the atrium of the Halcyon.  And starting at this moment you’d better just start believing you’re on a spaceship in Star Wars because it will make your life so much easier and more magical for the next day and 20ish hours.

The Atrium is where most of the action happens.  It’s where you’re going to meet the cast of characters that the story you’re about to be a part of for the first time, at least for most of them.  It’s the nexus of most of the things you’re going to want to do and see. 

OK let me back up.

The “Ship” (and look, I’m going to say ship even though we all know it’s a hotel, on Earth) supposedly has a lot of levels but you can only go to floors 4 through 7.  Floor 4 has the dining room, the cargo bay, the “engine room”, the lightsaber training room, the “environmental simulator”, which I’ll get to later, and a few smaller spaces, and where you board the shuttlepod to Batuu (Hollywood Studios). Floor 4 might actually be ground level, I honestly do not know and wouldn’t know how to tell.

Floors five and seven I think are all guest rooms.  We were on floor seven, thankfully near the end of the hall.  The cast can get to the second level of the atrium from floor seven but not the guests.

Floor six has the atrium, the bar, the bridge, the gift shop, and some more guest rooms. 

Honestly there might be more stuff that I didn’t even see, I don’t know.  There’s a good map of it from the app here.  I’ll talk about the app later.

I think that there is at least one entire level for the cast?  Apparently in order to not break immersion, everyone lives on the ship while they’re working.  So the actors, cooks, waitstaff, bar staff etc. don’t go home at night.  They also live there.  I don’t know the exact schedule but I have to think they must have two shifts of people who rotate “voyages”. Each voyage is two days.  You arrive around 1pm on one day, have a full day there (well, a lot of it at Galaxy’s Edge) and leave the next morning by 10am.  They have two or three hours to turn it around and start all over again with the next group.  But we had the same actors, the same staff, the entire time. 

We probed a little and found out a little information but the staff has to stay in character the entire time. Our waitress was Gina, we saw her at dinner both nights and also helping out during the first lunch and the late night buffet later.  I really want to know like, are they one cruise on, one cruise off and it just rotates like that? I don’t know.  I could possibly be wrong about this but  Gina thought hard about how to phrase it and I think she was saying this for real and not giving me a cutesy Star Wars answer. BUT I COULD BE WRONG and dumb on this.

Anyway, back to it.

The atrium is a large space, and like I said, where most of the action happens and aside from the bar, the main hangout place.  We spent a lot of time just hanging out there.  It’s comfortable.  There’s usually something going on.  There’s a fancy water bar (sparkling, chilled flat or room temp flat!  Look, I love just drinking water 90% of the time so I was very happy with easy access to as many cups as I wanted of tasty, cold water) or hop into the bar for a drink. You can just sit and look out to the bridge and either observe if Bridge Training is happening or just watch the stars go by, or the ship orbiting the planet.  Whatever is happening in the story, you can look out of any “window” and that’s reflected.  Also they often had snacks at the guest services desk if you just really needed some popcorn, pretzels, candy, dried fruit... I don’t know all of what they had, I just asked the niblings what they had grabbed when they came by with stuff and grazed off them, haha.

And in the first few hours when you arrive, many of the characters are just there, hanging out, getting to know you and you getting to know them.

Let’s look at the Atrium:

You know what?  I don’t have many from when “Nothing” is happening but these two are decent. The first one is from not long after boarding, and that’s the back of Ouannii, who is a Rodian and one of the official characters.  More on her in a sec.

There’s a bunch of pretty comfortable seating and some of the seating has USB/plugs so you can recharge while relaxing.  It feels very Star-Warsy in a very clean, sleek, Corellia-y way.  In the second pic you can see the model of the Halcyon (the ship we’re on), and above that you can see some of the windows.  There was a bridge crew training happening I think when I took those so the things flying by are practice targets.

We just... hung out here for awhile before and after lunch and it was great.  But upon arrival, we were swept quickly to our rooms to put down our carryons.  Also so those not already in costume could get into costume.  I’d say by dinner the first night like 80% of everyone was in some sort of costume. And if you didn’t bring one and didn’t mind dropping some $$ there were some to buy in the store.  We were one of very few people we saw who just came in our costumes, but a lot of people probably came from the airport or other Disney resorts, whereas we came from “home”.

The rooms... were also very Star Wars.

Very cool: you have a “window” where you can continue to see what’s going on outside the ship, and one of your options is for it to keep coinciding with what’s happening in the story.  ALSO I learned that depending on which side of the ship your room was on, you got a different view!  You could also change it to a few things like a generic starcreen, or planetside views of Star Wars planets if you were feeling a little claustrophobic.  It could be “shuttered” at night, or you could leave it on if you wanted it as a nightlight.

You could pull those orange box chairs under the window out and there were tables that would pull out, as well, if you wanted a seating area.  But it was cool that it also tucked away neatly.

Bottom pic.. you can see there’s a queen sized bed and two bunks.  My niece (the twilek pictured here haha) took the top one, I took the bottom one and my aunt took the bed.  The room was VERY comfortable for three people, about a standard hotel sized room, way bigger than like, a regular cruise ship room. 

And sleeping in the bunk felt VERY Star Wars.  My only complaint was that that white rolled-up thing?  It’s basically a sleeping bag, NOT a blanket.  My aunt kept the room warm but I still wanted a blanket in the middle of the night and couldn’t figure out how to unroll it for awhile in the dark, and ended up just half-draping it over myself lol.  But for the kids?  Very cool.  The bed was comfortable enough, though I missed my memory foam at home.

I don’t have a pic of the bathrooms but they were spacious and separated out so the toilet had its own space, as did the sink. The shower was a walk-in with a rainforest showerhead placed on the ceiling and falling right down.  Not great for those of us who didn’t want to wash our hair, but whatevs.  It was neat.

Also appreciated was that they had a big bottle of water in the room to share so I didn’t have to run down to the back of the atrium for cold water.

A weird but maybe cool(?) feature was that every room had like a “safe room” so that you could hide in case of an emergency?  And then call for help so staff could help you.  I think it’s so any elderly passengers didn’t have to wait in an unsafe place, and apparently each one had its own ventilation system and stuff?  I don’t know how it works, just that it exists.  Not like we had to use it.  Yes, there were exit signs in case of an emergency, too, but apparently you could maybe survive in there in case of a fire you couldn’t get away from.

It’s hard to see!  But on that little screen is a video call with a droid! (D-3). She welcomes you to the room, and she can do all sorts of cool things. She talks to you and you can respond.. they have a very cool IVR or AI system set up, so she’ll ask your opinion on things, and she’ll remember it.  She not only gives important information, but also like, she will ask you all sorts of questions, and she will answer questions, and at the end of the day you can tell her how your day was, you give her advice, and she will tell you a bedtime story or sing you a lullaby!  The first night we got the story, (which, spoiler alert, was A New Hope but with R2 as the hero lol).  The second night we tried for the lullaby but my niece was a bit slow answering so we didn’t get anything and couldn’t call back to ask her to do it.  Slightly disappointing. It was still, very cool. Also the thermostat is there, and any emergency announcements come through that speaker and probably other stuff I didn’t mess with.  We didn’t spend much non-sleeping time in the room.  I’m sure there are cool bits that I missed.

The other screen.. uh... we didn’t explore it too much but when we got there it had a welcome message with our names on it (and my aunt’s spelled wrong :p).  I think it had other things you could do but we never messed with it. Possibly an actual TV? idk.  Why would you watch TV when you paid that much money to be IN STAR WARS?

Okay so from there, we headed to the dining room for lunch!  It was like, 2:30 by then so we were pretty hungry.

More pics of the dining room later on, but this is a pretty good rep of it from the front looking back.  Lunch that day and breakfast the next two were cafeteria style, all you can eat.  This is the Crown of Corellia Dining room (the only dining room).  Pretty big, but never felt crowded at all.  Through those doors in the back was the cafeteria.  We didn’t take any pics, but it wasn’t anything particularly fancy.  The dining room itself though looked good in the light and at night in the dark, and the chairs were comfy.

I didn’t take a lot of food pics, this is almost all you’re going to get on that front.

Yes I tried the Blue Milk.  My 12yo nephew and I both decided... we didn’t... not like it.  Also didn’t actually like it?  It was like.. fruit-flavored... slightly jellied... milk?  Oh man, it is indescribable. Definitely something you should try if you get the chance and make up your own mind.

There was also green milk, which I didn’t get around to trying.  My nephew said the same thing... couldn’t decide if he liked it or not.

The lunch buffet was great and I tried hard to not eat too much since dinner was like, less than three hours away, but there were some very good things.  The little salad with the parmesean crisp on the left was fantastic.  Then there was a cheese toasty (upper center, beneath the green sweetroll) that came with a little tomato soup... SO GOOD.  That’s the only thing I went back for seconds for.   The thing on the right was basically pizza. center bottom right was a ham and cheese roll, and the purple-blue blob stuff was a jelly-cream dessert with a bite of black cake and some kind of shipped cream.  They all had very Star-Wars-y names that I do not remember.

It was all very good.  But I’m still thinking of that cheese toasty.

From there we went out to the atrium.  For like a full hour, my brother, SIL and the kids got tech support.  All of the kids got given a very locked down iPhone, which was basically to play Star Wars Data Pad with and... oh God now I have to describe the datapad.

Let’s digress!

SO basically, when you go to Starcruiser you want to download the Play Disney App and then you go in and link your reservation to your phone (thankfully I did this a couple of weeks before we went).  And the kids or anyone who doesn’t have a phone gets given a phone for this.  And inside the Play Disney App as the Star Wars Datapad app on it.  Which is your LIFELINE on this trip.

I am grateful my mom took this screenshot because I never did, thinking I’d be able to later.

So first of all, the app is your schedule.  It tells you where you NEED to be and why.  So you can see there, our transport to Batuu was at 8:10am on the second day, we had a reservation for Oga’s Cantina at noon, etc. 

But it ALSO is your Quest Hub.

See the thing is, when you’re on Starcruiser, you’re not just a passive observer, unless you just wanna be.  They actually want you to actively be a part of the story.  And to do that, you not only show up to things like it’ll say “Muster - All Passengers, 4pm in the Atrium” (more on that later) but also the characters send you texts on the app (it’s all automated, it’s not actual people texting you but it is the CHARACTERS sending you in-character messages, if that makes sense.  Much like a video game.) and you can choose to embark on quests for the characters.

And honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to do it all in one trip.

See, there’s a half dozen or more people you can ally yourself with and you can’t do them all.  I went in knowing I wanted to be a smuggler, so for me, figuring out who the main smuggler storyline guy was and connecting with that story was most important.  However, I also did several things for the captain and first officer. 

It is literally like a mix of LARPing with the actors and being on the ship and video gaming by picking up quests, talking to the virtual version of the characters on the app and collecting stuff.

Basically, you choose the life -- Resistance, Smuggler, or First Order.  Oh yeah, you can be First Order.  And honestly if I ever went back, I might go that route for a very different experience.  (Note: what you do in a game does not reflect what you’d do in real life don’t come at me with that, tumblr, thanks.  Not that I think any of my mutuals would, but you never know who ends up reading a post.)

You can do some of each, but really, you want to commit to a storyline and make sure you see that one through, at least.  And doing that is a combination of paying attention to what’s going on around you, talking to the right people, and paying attention to your app and responding in certain ways to certain quests.

That’s what your Comms is, though in the screenshot above, some of the items are main quest items, like doing stuff for Captain Keevan. 

The Comms is the main quest page where you get and send messages from the characters, and you can basically also steer your quests in certain directions, like telling Lt. Cray, the First Order guy, you’re not going to help him and telling Raithe, the main smuggler guy, you’re down to smuggle whateves, whenevs.

You’ll use Tools all throughout the ship and Baatu.  There’s like, a translation page so you can translate Arabesh (Star Wars Language) to English.  There’s a whole scanning minigame where you want to find basically QR codes and you can collect virtual items, and unlock clues in quests.  There’s a GPS tool so you can get to certain points to listen in on radio signals or transmit some.  It’s minigame central with a GPS and QR scanning component, basically.  But you use them in all sorts of quests.

The map is also very useful to get you around Baatu AND the Halcyon, and will point you towards quest points you’re on.  It was very handy.

And the Profile will basically tell you who you’re working for, who you’re on good and bad terms with, and you collect in-app virtual items.

I will end up talking more about the app at the end.  Just know that not only do you use your phone a lot for this stuff, but like my niblings didn’t have phones so Starcruiser loaned them locked-down iphones with Otterboxes on them, and it took a good hour to get my bro/SIL to get them all set up along with like three staff member’s help, thanks to both my bro/SIL not setting up their accounts ahead of time AND our reservation being a bit bungled. The staff who helped them were SO kind, patient and helpful and came up to me later and asked if everything with the niblings is going okay.  I mean, it’s Disney, you expect the staff to be great, but they were extra great.

Woo!  Intergalactic tech support!

During this time, after lunch and before dinner was also the main time when we met a bunch of characters.

Like here I am with Ouannii.  And holy crap y’all.  She only speaks Rodian, and her MOUTH MOVES WHEN SHE SPEAKS.  It is a sight to behold.  I mean it’s just animatronics but it is really cool looking.  She walks around and talks with people, and you basically have to interpret her through pantomime but it’s such an experience.  Oh, and there’s my cool light-up Kyber crystal necklace, too.

My niblings met SK-620 during this time, a droid important to the story.  Yeah he just rolls around and talks (R2-D2 style) and I have NO IDEA who’s controlling him or where from but it was just awesome to see.  Is there a person in there?  Is someone watching from a window?  He had a handler but the handler really didn’t seem like they were the ones doing the controlling.  Just... really amazing and fun to be around.

I was about to talk about Muster but... you know what? This post is ridiculously long already and I haven’t gotten to the good stuff.  And my fingers hurt from typing.  Consider this part one of at least two or three.

With no more Illusion, Stone quits producing

Director Oliver Stone and his producing partner Dan Halsted will dissolve their Illusion Entertainment shingle, they announced. Stone, who just finished directing the gridiron ensemble drama “Any Given Sunday,” has decided to shed his role of producing films directed by others to concentrate on his own writing and directing efforts.

The company essentially will come to a halt when Illusion’s first-look deal with Mandalay Pictures and its financing arrangement with Franchise Pictures concludes during the summer. Both said the move was amicable and that they will continue to collaborate on projects that Stone might direct.

Halsted, who separately produced the Cannes-bound film “The Virgin Suicides” and the upcoming Wesley Snipes starrer “The Art of War,” is expected to open his own production company shortly, and will continue to shepherd the Illusion TV and feature projects he and Stone hatched together. “I now have the best of both worlds, a continuing relationship with Oliver and the ability to pursue other avenues,” Halsted said in a statement.

The inventory of active Illusion projects for TV and features numbers about 20 and includes several possible helming assignments for the two-time, Oscar-winning director. Those include “Valhalla,” the Michael Blake-scripted story of Gen. George Custer at New Line, which could be Stone’s next film; a Stone-penned adaptation of the Ayn Rand novel “The Fountainhead” at Warner Bros.; and a Kario Salem-scripted biopic of Martin Luther King Jr., also at Warners. Additionally, there is an untitled love story by Caspian Treadwell Owen involving a U.N. relief worker that’s set up at Mandalay.

Met at Disney

Stone met Halsted when the latter was an exec at Disney and Stone planned to direct “Evita” there. Stone left the project and Halsted ankled the executive suites to join him in 1995. Halsted became a producer of films that include “Any Given Sunday” (which wrapped second-unit just work days ago), “Nixon” and “U-Turn,” as well as the pics “Freeway” and “The Corruptor” and the PBS docu “Assassinated: The Last Days of Kennedy and King.” Stone said he got along with Halsted fine, but the stress of producing was taking its toll.

“Life has just gotten too hectic, and the price of producing was often too high,” Stone said. “I wasn’t trying to be overtly commercial, and tried to help a lot of first-time directors, which was something I wanted to do since NYU Film School because I remembered how hard it was to get a first film off the ground. We never had a major success, but we made some pictures I’m proud of.”

Stone felt that his high profile and the controversies associated with such films as “JFK” and “Natural Born Killers” often colored the media perception of projects he produced, such as “People vs. Larry Flynt.”

“I can recall reading negative criticism on that film that went out of its way to single me out,” Stone said. “After a while, you start getting the message.”

Stone sounded tired after just completing the signal calling on the John Logan-scripted gridiron drama for Warner Bros. with a cast that includes Al Pacino, Dennis Quaid, Cameron Diaz, Lauren Holly and Jamie Foxx. The film’s expected to open sometime during this fall’s football season.

“It was a very hard 65-day shoot and left me feeling that football is tougher to shoot than war,” said Stone, who directed the battlefield dramas “Platoon” and “Born on the Fourth of July.”

Stone will revive Ixtlan, the production company he formed in 1977, but only to shepherd his own directing vehicles.

“We’ll move forward the projects that are for me, but otherwise, I’m finished, I’m not producing anymore,” Stone said. “It’s overwhelming, the phone calls, the unsolicited manuscripts are never-ending, and I’d like to go back to writing.”

Asked his best memory as a producer, Stone said one indelible moment came during filming of the riot scene for “Natural Born Killers,” which got out of hand and had the filmmaker and crew fearing for their safety. “It was in danger of becoming a full-scale riot in Joliet, but I found I had the support of the leader of the biggest black gang,” Stone said. “It turned out that the guy, who was about 350 pounds, loved ‘South Central,’ a small movie I’d produced about a man paroled from jail who tries to save his son.”

So no trailer this week with two and a half weeks to go, le sigh. We did see ads from local stations (using old promo photos), and we got what appears to be the Nancy Drew 4.01 title and description. Read on for that and a bunch more show and cast bits from the past week.

“The Dilemma of the Lover’s Curse.” They’re hitting the curse head on, which I like. Two different sites posted the title along with an episode description that came right from the season 4 description we got back in January.

Now that we’re so close, the reality of Nancy and Ace having potential love interests is sinking in. We know that Nancy will not risk Ace’s life as long as there’s no solution to the curse. I’m still hopeful for lots of Nace scenes, with plenty of delicious angst. Curious how this squares with Kennedy’s discussion of Nancy and Ace’s emotional openness with each other - I still expect Ace to figure out the curse quickly.

I’m also super hyped about the sins of the town’s past, the multiple supernatural mysteries, and the stories for the entire crew. May 31 is so close I can taste it.

Scott Wolf gave us some insight into S4’s resolution for our beloved characters in a new interview - it was a big deal for them to know it was the final season ahead of time, the season will cover the things that are most important to us, but “not every resolution is going to be satisfying for everyone.”

Glad to hear they planned real resolutions for everyone, terrified about them not all being satisfying. I’m absolutely expecting Nace endgame, but I want good things for all of our family. They’re keeping us on our toes…

We saw lots of our cast this week - Kennedy made a surprise appearance in an Arizona bookstore with her author parents (note this pic is with her mom and the bookseller, not McDad), Maddison was in Paris and England with her Versailles cast and her family, and Riley is appearing in another episode of Station 19 this week.

Alex has been on vacay in Italy and France (Hannah captioned the first photo “Alex doesn’t like PDA. So I fixed it” ☠️). Alex’s new show High Desert premieres this week on Apple TV. There’s a new in depth, spoilery review at AV Club. According to the article (spoiler alert), Peggy (Patricia Arquette) is “no longer speaking to her grown son.” We won’t see Alex until episode 6 - could he play Peggy’s son?

Leah’s show Matlock was picked up for the fall (watch the trailer), and she’s celebrating in Mexico with her bf.

Meanwhile Queen Charlotte is another huge hit with fantastic exposure for Tunji - check out the in depth Tatler profile on our favorite Scotsman, where he draws an interesting parallel between Charlotte & George’s and Harry & Meghan’s experiences - and admits he’s never watched Bridgerton.

In more show news, the Nancy Drew writers’ request for fan input has generated tons of great questions but only chaos from the writers so far - no real answers yet.

Speaking of chaos, Kennedy stepped into the fray to drop four songs from her S4 playlist. “The Winner Takes it All” (no more ace to play), “all my ghosts” (all my ghosts are with me), and “Thinking of You” (cause when I’m with him I am thinking of you) are killing me, the pain. “Big Poppa” has me thinking about Nancy under some kind of spell a la Burning Bride (as she described Episode 2) hitting on everyone in sight - “mackin’ hoes” while “my crew’s behind me.” Now in honor of “Big Poppa”, what if it’s Ryan!?

Finally, two more cast members were added to IMDB - Fred the car towing guy is back for 3 episodes (3, 5, and 13), and there’s a new security guard in Episode 9.

You get a gold star if you made it to the end. Another week, another wish for a trailer and new photos. I’m busy wrapping up The Space Between - expect the thrilling (I hope) conclusion before the season premiere. Also planning a fluffy epilogue, I at least can promise satisfying conclusions for everyone!

Lineage Challenge (Day 6) - Q&A Ask Game

First of all, thank you everyone that played this challenge with me! Even if you popped in for a day or two, thanks and I hope you enjoyed it!

Canon or Fiction?

The Arcanos and Varangrs are original and fictional. I came up with the Arcano name first by taking a name from Skyrim. He was a high elf mage called Ancano (who was kinda a dick) but he was into magic so I was like perfect. But then I forgot the spelling and said Arcano instead. I decided this way was prob better anyway when I saw this pic.

This also helped create the Gifts as the first one I made was Necromancy. I thought about the 8 schools of Arcane magic (Abjuration, Evocation, Necromancy, Enchantment, Illusion, Transmutation, Divination, and Conjuration)

As for Varangrs, I can’t really remember where it came from? I think I just googled some norse names and found one that sounded like it would fit their wild nature. It also means Sailor so that fits into both families longship use for trading together.

Family Ties

The Arcanos/Varangrs aren’t related to any canon families but there’s a bunch of creator made ones! I’m always looking for more too!

@sirfluffig has Varus de Fey, @lgvalenzuela has Lorilyn Kumari, @endlessly-cursed has Atticus Demiurgos-Kennedy and Semele Thorne, and for the Varangrs there’s @cursebreakerfarrier with Benji Gerhardt (tho it’s complicated. Will he won’t he join the family? 😌)

I also have my own created family called Lionette that live in Skalafell and marry into the Arcanos. Else Lionette was one until she married Alatar. I’ve been wanting to create more viking families that live in the village but haven’t gotten around to it. (👀 invitation)

Foundations

The very first member of all three family lines can be traced back to a single woman from the viking age (8th to 13th century??). She’s nameless but that would also be spoilers for my fic. She’s the one that did the ritual to imbue her family line with the Gift. She has three sons who each split off into diff families.

As for oldest on my tree, that would probably be the parents of my hphl gen (Unni, Aros, Oliana). But they aren’t developed much as I forget some of their names 🤡.

The very first member I created for the Arcanos was Dafne of course. For the Varangrs, it was Jorren. She has water powers uwu.

Fun Facts

The Arcanos and Varangrs don’t use regular owls for mail. Instead they own Ravens. Yes they name them. Dafne’s is called Hela of course.

There was a feud between the Arcanos and Varangrs since forever. It was only recently that Alatar and Jorren made a tentative peace and started trading with each other.

Lycanthropy is common among the Varangrs.

You could have caught this reading my one shots but Dafne’s eye scar was made by Unni’s old sword.

There’s about a 100 year gap in the Arcano Family where nobody is born with the Gift. The last member was Khione (Unni’s younger sister), and the first member to get it after all those years was Dayamanti. The gap caused the Gift to become sort of legend so when the three sisters were born with white in their hair, they didn’t believe it was the Gift until they started using it at 10.

Iolanthe and Dafne are probably the two Arcanos who actually stick to the family trope while the rest of the family are mainly Gryffindors. As for Varangrs, the whole family sticks to the trope EXCEPT Aros and Rune. Gotta love opposite parallels.

The Varangrs were created when I was watching His Dark Materials and decided to create one of the other two families. That’s why they live on Svalbard.

RESIDENT EVIL COMING TO DEAD BY DAYLIGHT POST

Hey I'm coming back from the dead as Leon The White to talk about the best part of the Resident Evil showcase : Resident Evil coming to Dead By Daylight !

Yes yes we all saw the trailer, we can't wait to attach that sweet Umbrella Corp charm to our survivors and our killer's hooks but I want to talk to you about the possibilites regarding Survivors, Killer and Map !

SURVIVORS :

Yes I know we all have our preferences as to who we would like to see introduced as survivors and since it's a special occasion, Resident Evil's 25th Anniversary, we'll probably get 2 survivors like the Stranger Things DLC ( which can also mean that we could get other characters skins on top of said characters like Heather Mason getting Alessa Gillespie, Cybil Bennett and Lisa Garland skins ).

Our number one pick is the most obvious, at the end of the showcase, Matthieu Côté delivers this line :

Look, you have two choices here : kill or be killed. It's your call !

Does it sounds familiar ? I hope it does because it's coming directly from this :

So it's safe to assume that our number one character is going to be Claire Redfield !

As for number two, they'll probably pick a male character and huh... Yeah yeah you know what I mean, it's going to be Leon Kennedy.

It makes perfect sense : he's the other part of the duo from Resident Evil 2, the most popular old school RE, and the main protagonist of Resident Evil 4, the game who revolutionized the gaming industry and which brought fresh air to the franchise.

Another reason why it makes perfect sense for this duo to be in this game is that around the same time we will get Infinite Darkness, which features Leon and Claire ! Perfect promotion.

Also don't lie, if they get alternate costumes, you're going to love to play as Leon in his RE4 outfit with the jacket and Claire in her Let Me Live outfit... And the Cleon shippers will be happy.

As for those who would have prefered others like Jill or Chris, or even Rebecca and Billy why not, I'm sure they will be available as Legendary Skins.

KILLER :

Now this one is a particuliar case, and I'm thinking the same thing regarding the map.

They can go the way they did with the Silent Hill chapter and pick something different from the best games : Midwich Elementary School from Silent Hill 1 for the map, Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 as the killer and Heather Mason from Silent Hill 3 as the survivor.

If we go by popularity it would be either Mr.X or Nemesis ( No I'm not counting Lady Dumitrescu because the game isn't out yet and don't lie, her popularity is 100% due to how horny on main you freaks are )

Mr.X will have to be punching survivors as his main attack but as for his secondary I dunno... Maybe mutated Mr.X instead so he could do more damage ? And that way you could have the classic Tyrant from RE1 as a skin ?

As for his Mori it'll probably be a head grab and him crushing your head or he might impale you with his mutated hand/claw before tossing you aside.

( Also you know his chase music is going to be modded into "X gonna give it to ya" )

Nemesis will punch and/or use tentacles to whip you good or catch you, either way he's going to do some damage and you know you will shit your pants when you hear him scream "STAAAAAAAAAARS !" from a distance.

His mori will probably be an oldie but goldie and by that I mean he will grab survivors like Brad and tentacle-throat them to death.

BONUS :

The characters I want for killers here are just ideas I came up with and whom I know will probably not get picked but it's worth mentioning them because you'll agree that they would make great killers.

1/ Nosferatu ( Code Veronica X )

I don't think I have to remind you the fucking bone chilling screams he make when you see him for the first time as Claire in Code Veronica, nor how creepy is his theme during the boss fight ?

Now imagine that in a game where he chase you around with a new rendition of his theme and his tentacles swinging around and attacking you while the others hear him screaming at you in the distance.

Not to forget he could also poison you with the spores he just released so like The Plague he could make you go around the map to find a way to cleanse yourself and here we could see blue herbs being used !

His mori could be one of the death animations from his boss fight in Code Veronica where he brings Claire close to him and impale her with his big tentacle before giving her the "This bitch empty, YEET" treatment.

2/ Alexia Ashford ( Code Veronica X )

Oh boy look at that, another character from Code Veronica, who would have guessed ? ( It's in my TOP 3 RE games so my bad )

Alright Alexia has always been one of my favorites bosses from the Resident Evil series and I think she's honestly one of the best, her design is nasty, her mutations are disgusting and her orchestral theme is just GORGEOUS ( "Ironic" Palpatine said )

Imagine her normal attack being bitchslaps like she gives to Wesker in Code Veronica, nice right ? But for her secondary attack like in the game she throw her blood in a direction and trace a fire line with it, something that can work in DBD since Pyramid Head does something similar with his great knife.

Her mori will probably be her summoning those tentacles from the ground to impale you or grab your leg and smash you on the ground on repeat until you die, or if we stay classic, she can grab you by the throat and light you on fire, burning you alive.

MAP :

As I said earlier during the killer part, they might follow the Silent Hill chapter formula, picking one bit of each game so here are some neat locations to pick from.

1/ The Spencer Mansion

a) The Mansion

It's just too iconic.

b) The Arklay Lab

I will shit myself if I see a Tyrant coming at me while I'm on a gen.

2/ Raccoon City

a) The streets of Raccoon City

You think you can hide but he will find you.

b) The RPD

Nothing better than exploring the corridors of the RPD and seeing a licker passing by a window while trying to sneak around to avoid the killer right ?

3/Rockfort Island

a) Prison Camp

Perfect for the sadistic pleasures of the Entity !

b) Private Residence
