Sort of a what if scenario if Shermie and Stan (as Ford) did meet up after Stan’s fake death funeral— could consider canon to this version oop. Maybe Stan kept this to himself or forgot. This is also based on how Stan somehow managed to keep himself together as he took Ford’s name, especially lying to his family.

With my version of Shermie, he couldn’t attend the funeral, but he does visit Stan’s grave. How couldn’t he and Stan (even as Ford) get along for Shermie’s family to contact Stan if he still didn’t love his baby brothers? Despite how Stan is a criminal! Tho he probably took time to warm up after being bitter with Ford; a tad complicated dynamic there.

oh lord they make me ill (don't mind bill he's just being silly) ALSO 2 POSTS IN 1 DAY??? saturdays are awesome man BTW THE @ IN THE DRAWING IS MY TWITTER!!!! side note anyone who unironically calls twitter X dni /j -- LORE -- fiddleford and emma-may were arranged years ago and have lived together in a lavender marriage. they are on good terms. stan is bisexual and ford is gay. fiddleford went up to gravity falls where he and ford fell in love and happily worked on the portal together. however, ford's growing obsession with bill and violent tendencies whenever he was posessed put a heavy strain on their relationship. eventually, after the whole portal incident with fiddleford, they got into a huge fight and fell out. fiddleford is too ashamed to go back to his wife and son empty handed because he was the breadmaker and emma-may was probably struggling financially without him around. (they both work btw it's just that fidds makes more money) so he began to keep a journal /j traumatized from what he saw in the portal he invented the memory gun, which, while succeeding in erasing his memory of the event, also caused him to completely forget the fallout. he wandered back to ford's house thinking nothing happened and met stan, initially very confused as to why and how ford had magically sprouted a mullet and was dressed like a hobo. obviously they clear things up and stan explains what happened to ford. fiddleford, having forgot all the awful things ford did to him, is still totally head over heels and is devastated hearing that he's gone. over the course of a few months or so, stan falls in love with fiddleford, and is way more guilty about it than ford was (because stan has a way bigger appreciation for family and feels awful being a homewrecker and ALSO this is his first time falling in love with a man so that's a whole other story with his upbringing and morals being questioned blah blah blah). fiddleford on the other hand is grieving the loss of his bf HARD. and it's even worse having to see his face every day but none of the things that truly made him him. but when stan finally told fiddleford how he felt...? god, he couldn't tell you what came over him. fiddleford could have sworn it was just like the first time he and ford had kissed. he was left panting, gasping for air while the latter gently caressed his face with broad, calloused hands. he felt guilty, telling stan he felt the same when his heart was still so set on his twin, but... he'd never know, right? wrong. stan was a con man. of course he could sniff out lies like a dog. and the worst part? he couldn't even blame fiddleford. after all, his brother was the better twin. he was smarter, more successful, and loved more than he could imagine. he was just a dumb, good-for-nothing loser. that was fine. it was a truth he'd come to terms with a long, long time ago. but through it all, he couldn't stop the tears that pricked his eyes while they shared that kiss. and he swallowed the words that tried to bubble up as he pulled away. "i know who you pretend i am."

You know Monster Falls? I just came up with a different version of the AU with Mullet Stan (mwahaha)

So there’s this old Gacha Life series called “My Pets” (just search it up on YouTube and you should find it). Anyways, I was rewatching the series and got struck with another one of my brilliant ideas.

The year is 1982, and Stan Pines has been kidnapped by Rico and his goons. Luckily, he manages to break free of his chains and sneak through the vents before anyone can notice he’s gone. As he’s crawling through the vents, he passes a room filled with these weird animals. That catches his eye. These animals are actually humanoid creatures that Stan had only seen in the old fairytale books at the New Jersey library. But that’s not what keeps him stuck there, hovering over the room. These creatures look like little kids. They’re so small, so fragile, and they all look beat up. Suddenly, the vent grid collapses underneath Stan and he falls into the room. All the kids freak out and the deer-hybrid runs in front of everyone. It screams something. Oh, great. The kids speak Spanish. Stan heard rumbling from outside and knew he only had at least 2 minutes to escape before the goons catch him and he’s back to square one. So he grabs a sheet of paper and a pencil on the floor and draws out an escape plan. If these kids have been here for a while, they know all the ins and outs of this place. The plan is: Stan lets the kids free and in return, they help Stan get out of here. They all seem to understand. Everyone goes ahead with the plan and they’re almost caught but manage to escape. Stan is glad to be free and turns around, expecting the creatures to just run off into the wild, when something tugs at his sleeve. He looks down and sees a little girl whose some fusion of a unicorn and a mermaid. The kids are speaking Spanish again. Stan tries to leave but the girl draws something in the soft mud. An picture of all the kids…staying with Stan. They want to stay with him? Oh no no, he can barely take care of himself. He can’t take care of 8 mystical creatures on his own.

Before he knows it, he’s spreading his jacket out in the backseat of the El Diablo to make a makeshift bed for half of the kids. The other half will have to sleep in the trunk, which he already cushioned with all his junk. “Gracias, senor.” The deer says. He tussles the kid’s hair and puts him to rest. Everyone sleeps peacefully for the first time in their lives while Stan stands outside the El Diablo to lookout for any threats. He takes a moment to think about the future. If these kids will be here for the long run, he’ll have to teach them English and valuable life lessons. Oh god…he’s such a screwup.

Stanuary 2025 Week One: Mindscape

"Guess I was good for something, after all." -Stan Pines

Fanart, woot woot! Not a medium I typically work with, but my sibling gave me some cool brush markers and I wanted to try them out. I'm pretty pleased with the result! This is my first time drawing Stanley so I was a bit worried, but I like how the fez and hair turned out.

At first I thought about writing something with Ford exploring Stan's mindscape, either post-wipe or in an AU pre-wipe, and discovering some of the things he got into in his mullet days, but just couldn't make it work without it being a lot longer and more involved than I was wanting. Might revisit the idea someday, but we'll see.

I'm focusing on the main weekly prompts, but I think this also qualifies for the 'elements,' 'success,' and 'angst' spots on the additional prompt bingo table. Elements for the fire, success because Stan feels he accomplished something good and worthy by defeating Bill, and angst because, well, he is in the process of being erased as his mind is engulfed in flames.

Hello glorious writer! Between your amazing works and my deep need to make young Stanley's timeline a little less tragic, I've been inspired to write a mullet!stan fanfic myself

Admittedly it's indulgent, and the love interest will be an OC, but I still want to make it as quality and coherent as possible. There's a chance that i won't end up posting it at all, but regardless of that, my starting intentions are to write something worthy of public eyes.

That being said, fitting simple timeline details together and figuring out a plot line that flows right is making me want to claw my eyes out before I've even started the first chapter. Do you have any advice on keeping things organized/era accurate and well paced?

First of all dude fuck yeah that's awesome, I wish you the best with it! Second of all: indulge away! Make everything for yourself first and foremost, whether you intend to publish or not. You're your most important reader.

Putting all the stuff below here as per:

Is there a specific 'main event' that happens in the fic? Or are you writing it without the intention of having anything really happen, like as character study or similar? Figure out your main event if you want one: it could just be be sex or a get together, or it might be a trauma, a simple conversation, whatever. Whatever it is, identify it and keep it at the heart of what you're creating. Build outwards from it.

Or, watch a movie that has a vibe you'd like to replicate. To stress: you're not going to copy the events of the movie. You're going to study how it unfolds and apply that pacing to your own, original stuff.

Once you look for the scaffolding of a movie, it's obvious. The more you do it, the more you'll just start ticking things off in your head automatically.

I do it so much that I ruin a lot of movies for myself now because I can guesstimate where each reveal is going to happen by how character's are acting and how it'll be used later on LMAOOOOO it's annoying as fuck and I'm always pleased when a director dupes me. Find directors that trick you and toy with you, but that do it well. Those are the ones you learn from.

Plan your plot and flesh it out in a flow-chart kind of style, and add as much detail as you can. Start with the bare bones and go from start to finish on the most basic of information. Then write it out again and this time, add more information. Keep doing that again and again. I find sometimes that when I'm writing, I'll inspire myself for another scene with the bit that I'm already working on, and it connects plot points as I work. I can try and draw a diagram of what I mean if you think that would help more.

In terms of era accurate, I would assume if you're writing for Stan then you'll be aiming for 70s-80's? Whatever scene you're setting your thing in google '[insert thing] in 1975' or whatever relevant year. 'Dive bars in 1979' or 'what kind of music did people dance to in 1981?'. I know it sounds super obvious but having a reference for writing is the same as it is for drawing: Super useful. Look up photos from the era on Pinterest or whatever, like outfits or interior design. All your answers are out there.

spooky ford1:

a ford resembling his canon counterpart’s form in weirdmaggedon. tattered clothes, soot clumped hair, and ethereal neverending chains dug deep into burnt flesh. never touches the ground, never closes his eyes, never stops grinning, moves in ways he should not be able to. the one advantage you have against him is that you can hear the clanking of his chains whenever he’s near

if a stan happens to open the portal for a brother that isn’t there, this ford has a chance of crawling out instead (and ae do mean crawling out). his aim is not physical harm; he feeds off of mental distress and thus enjoys toying with the unfortunate stans that find themselves with him. he is silent most of the time, preferring to just stick back and watch. no one else but his chosen victims can see him. when especially hungry, he can cause brief distortions in reality to jumpstart a feast

that being said, he doesn’t truly wish harm upon any stans (unless they…ahem, deserve it. looking at you, evil stan). if he feels it’s gone too far, he’ll change tune quick, looking to provide feelings of comfort and happiness for a time before taking his leave and hunting in a new dimension

that also being said. he has no mercy for other fords

not much is known about this guy from an origin perspective. he started as a regular ford in the fearamid. now he does this. it’s hard to say when the change occurred, but it’s generally understood that he only feeds on mental distress out of a need, not a want

the most recent stan has found a loophole around this. they watch horror movies together a lot. they’re also a big hit on halloween and summerween. they’re basically actual brothers at this point

spooky ford2:

HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY

this guy doesn’t care at all, very much unlike the other one. he very much does intend to cause physical harm, and is best equated to an african wild dog, in that he will chase you down relentlessly and will not wait until you’re dead to begin eating. he hunts exclusively fords and stans, always targeting the resident ford first. stans tend to get the upper hand, delivering a fatal shot or blow and leaving him dead, but he always gets to them in the end

he starts as a reflection. in a mirror, or maybe in the ripples of the tide. a car mirror, a window, a waxed surface, occasionally even shadows (though he’s only done that once and never figured out how to do it again). he always starts with the ford. they notice their reflection looks weird (or, sometimes, he doesn’t give them a chance to notice at all. as long as they see their reflection at some point, they’ve given him an opportunity).

the reflection’s eyes are blocked by shadows. or there’s a shadow, but the eyes stare back undisturbed. he smiles, begins to speak to them. so joyful, and cheery, and giddy. then, eventually, he crawls out of the reflection and begins the hunt. most times, he can strike right out the gate. sometimes, he has to stalk them first. either way, only one has ever gotten away from him

he won’t hunt a stan unless he has the opportunity to. this has included:

-mullet stan showing up not too long after his brother died brutally without his knowledge

-hunting the ford, losing him, finding his twin instead

-the two are with each other and, thus, once the ford is down, he goes after the stan

in the case of the first one, he restarted the process with the stan, taking on his appearance and living in his reflection for a few weeks. at the same time, he began devouring any imagery or mention of the ford. this started with erasing him from photos and drawings and got up to erasing his name before he finally decided to attack the stan. after this, the cabin that everyone could have sworn was out there somewhere in the woods disappeared, becoming a simple urban legend

the worst part? stan thought he killed the thing before it clambered out of the mirror. it answered the door, he blocked its bite with his arm and ran out into the woods, it hunted him down, he shot it in the head. of course, that did all happen. he did kill it. it just decided to return the favor by sinking its teeth into his skull

in the second, he began as a sea grunk ford’s reflection in the ocean. he climbed out of the water, shook himself out, and almost immediately lost track of where the real ford went. he stumbled upon his brother, and took on his appearance before attacking him. ford was nearby and came to his rescue. after a bit of struggling, they ended up being the lucky ones, the only ones to ever survive an attack from him. and all they got was several weeks of slow recovery and. y’know. severe anxiety. the usual, right? hah. hahah. hAH (< suffers from severe generalized anxiety)

(ford was terrified of the idea that he might be too late. what if he had wandered off just a bit farther? what if he hadn’t been close enough to get to stan in time? what if he ran to help his brother, only to discover he…he couldn’t? keeping a weapon on him wasn’t enough, he needed to stay by his twin’s side at all times to protect him)

(stan was terrified for similar reasons. that thing had nearly torn ford’s throat completely open before he managed to drive it off. even then, he still bled bad…real bad. he established two new rules: they had to stay relatively close to civilization in case of an emergency, and ford had to be close to him at all times. ford was, as ae’m sure you can imagine, not too upset about this change)

the third was the one where he figured out how to slip into shadows. he tracked a ford from the lake and found him fighting with his brother. he thought about it a second. should he come back later…? and then he decided the stan’s reaction would be hilarious, slinked into his brother’s shadow, and tackled him from behind, managing to tear his neck open before the stan knocked him off. he switched to the stan’s form to catch him off guard and pounced, only for the stan to scramble to his car, pull out a handgun, and shoot him in the face

he got annoyed, slipped back into his brother’s form, and mauled him

later, he stumbled across the niblings and got scared so bad he zipped into a new ford’s reflection

he’s not human. he’s not even alive. or dead, really. he’s both and neither at the same time. doesn’t apply to him much. the shadow over his face is a hint at what he is.

a creature with no blood, no bones, no organs, no muscle. just inky dark that turns goopy and splatters when you shoot him in the face
