in this au, its literally just the “right place, wrong time” trope with the desperation and longing slowly progressing as the fic goes on ;w;

also pov switches from u steadily breaking down from just barely missing him, which hits harder after the centuries u spent believing he was dead and holding his last possessions close only for fate to just throw u a bone in the form of him being alive and not quite being in the same place at the same time, to blades pov where he is just going insane and frustrated bc he can feel ur presence all around him and he can see the red string (unlike u) but he can never seem to catch u, as though fate were toying with his last thread of sanity

BUT WHEN THEY FINALLY MEET ON THEIR OWN OMGHDJSKA no bc i can already envision it. i already see the scene play out. the tears, the insecurity, the emotional turmoil and outbursts and u asking him “what happened to you, [insert his real name]…?” in a broken whisper and he just responds “not enough to keep me from you, [name]” and then a very much long overdue kiss bc wahaha hurt/comfort is apparently all i can write for hsr men :’D
