Glad you asked! The app ate my first writup 🫠, so hopefully this still covers enough. I can take follow-up questions as needed. If you have specific questions and google hasn't helped, consider sharing a best-effort attempt of what you've tried so far. Catbox is an img host that preserves metadata.

Basics: I've got a 3080 and Auto1111's webui. Furry checkpoint is EasyFluff, for anime either PoundcakeMix or PerfectWorld.

No recommendations for photoreal as I don't mess around nearly as much with the stuff. I both have less interest and find it way easier to "get wrong" and make something uncanny and gross. I don't touch deepfakes / "specific real person" at all. My advice for what I've posted previously is "gen with an anime model, upscale with a photoreal model"

For "extra large" figures, HyperFusion and JumboVenus are good lora options, and both seem to work with most checkpoints regardless of style.

Key plugins are Tag Auto-complete (for danbooru/e621 tag assistance) and Dynamic Prompts (for wildcards - adding variety within batches, as well as testing impact of specific tag sets)

For wildcards, there are broad collections available, but consider starting with your own short lists to get a feel for how they work. Using someone's list of a million expressions is cool, but having your own curated list of 3-6 "baseline" expressions (with a few tags and emojis each) to play with is nice so you get used to whats available.

The best advice I can (give regardless of level of experience) is to find a source like Civitai that can show you images with their metadata so you can copy and build off others (hello, /trash/! 💖) . Beyond that: patience, rerolling & refining.

As for actual workflow, I often start with a vague idea and a bunch of wildcards in txt2img. So, if I wanted "big boob anime lady in nature" I might start with a prompt like "1girl, solo, smug, huge breasts, thick_thighs, __color__ tank top, shorts, outside, __location-natural__" where the __location-natural__ part is a wildcard list with things like "garden, forest, meadow" and __color__ is a list of colors. I can generate a batch of 6 in ~90sec, so there's a lot of rerolling, editing prompts, and discarding junk.

Sidebar: There's "quality tags" and negative embeddings involved as well, but I don't have a consistent set I use every single time. Steal and tweak prompts until you find things you like and either save them as "styles" in the webui or put them in a wildcard list. Also, remember that any image you gen has tags saved in it so you can reference your earlier stuff and mix it around.

If you're not sure of how to ask for something, look up existing images on danbooru/e621 and check the tags used. Tag wikis and related tag lists are helpful: You can dump a list of tags into a wildcard file and see which work.

When I get a gen that's what I'm looking for, I recycle the seed and run the same prompt again with hi-res fix to upscale it. If something is close but not quite what I want, I send to img2img to upscale in batches of 3, as well as tweak the prompt. If needed, I'll copy the low-res image to photoshop for edits and img2img that. Have you ever done a shitty image morph? i2i will take your sloppy/lazy edits and reincorporate them into a coherent image.

Beyond that, it's patience (lots of tweak & reroll), experimentation, and research. Controlnets and Regional Prompting are tools to look into to help get stuff the generator struggles with out of the box. Also, you can set the --listen command flag in the webui-user.bat to expose the webui to your local network so you can prompt from another device (I do most of mine from a tablet on a couch).

Here's a self-portrait to get you started: I won't tell you the full set of specifics here, but hopefully the alt-text can get you going. This one was genned using PoundcakeMix, upscaled with a blended anime model, lorae are from Civitai, detail tags are from the shygalv3 lora example images, and the negative embeddings are from a furry model but seem to work just fine here. You may notice the tags don't quite align with the final result - that's the way the slot machine goes.

1: Perfect World International #PerfectWorld I played this game religiously for the entirety of my time in high school. It was the place where I found my first real social group 2: #ConquerOnline Is it good? No. Did I love it because it was kinda weird? Yes. 3: #FlyFF I would not be alive had I not played this game. I mean that 100% seriously. 4: #Mabinogi This game really is the only thing I regret about completely going off of Windows, as its not supported on Linux, even with Proton/WINE. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart. 5: #TheSims The entire franchise. This game was a place where I could safely explore the queer side of myself when I didn't have others 6: #CrushCrush / #HushHush I just love the IP. All of the girls are adorable, and I feel kinda fuzzy every time I play through it 7: #ChronoCross My uncle gave me a copy of this game shortly before he passed away, and its always had a special place for me because of it 8: #Borderlands2 The first piece of media I really consumed that fed into the depraved humor that really has become a core part of me 9: #WurmOnline It gave me an escape for when I was at one of my lowest recent points 10: #UnchartedWatersOnline Much the same vain as Perfect World: A solid chunk of my friend group in college was through this game. First, you need to download a program like World Machine, a handy tool for generating everything from backyard to continent-sized chunks of terrain. You want a heightmap more interesting than pure Perlin noise, something suggestive of a real world and its history, with lots of lovely fjords and mountain ranges and the like. That’s what you use to create the heightmap you import into PerfectWorld, which in turn will generate all the other information you need: temperature, savagery, drainage, rainfall, volcanism, etc.

Now, you use the world gen settings created with PerfectWorld to generate, oh, two or three dozen worlds. Not all at once; generate one or two, noodle around on them looking for a good starting location, find yourself dissatisfied by the lack of a volcano next to a river with a layer of flux stone, rinse, repeat (and yes, you’ve set the base level of volcanism ridiculously high to compensate for this admittedly picky requirement). And when you finally find a spot you like, seven times out of ten you will find when you actually embark (after setting up your supplies and naming your expedition and all that) it has some disqualifying feature: a weirdly square cliff, maybe, or the river is too small.

Eventually, you will find an embark location you do like. Don’t unpause the game; rather, take a screenshot of the whole map, overlay a grid on it in GIMP, and then start planning your fortress. Graph paper will also suffice for smaller-scale stuff; meticulously lay out the most efficient floorplan you can, with workshops here and stockpiles there, and so on. At some point, you will probably want to download DFHack, just to make sure you’re not, like, about to put your magma forges in the middle of an open cavern by accident. You will inevitably change your mind about some minor aspect of your plan at some point; this will necessitate returning to one of the above steps, possibly all the way back to Step Zero when you realize you want more of a “fantasy Iceland” vibe than you originally intended.

Eventually, you realize after covering two or three sheets of graph paper with mad scribbling and combing over the wiki for strategy tips, the whole endeavor of actually building the fortress seems rather redundant. You realize it is almost midnight anyway; you close the game and go to bed. You never unpaused.

Ok in all seriousness I love Reinhardt more than anyone in the entire series, at first I just liked him bc useful in heroes + memes but as I learned more about him I just...fell in love I guess? He's a flawed character, an older brother, a protector, and I guess I wanted to explore the motivations behind the kind of loyalty and the kind of failure to act we see in the game, with what little we can distinguish of his character in the few scenes he gets. wygtm (sumo rewrite) i am still planning to come back to. still love it. still love the post-game epilogue i drafted while in a summer course in 2019. still love the sequel idea that incorporates usum elements while also being set in the future (so mizuki+lillie are adults and have established jobs in alola and some of the brunt of the usum plot is shoved onto an unsuspecting kid to mirror how those 2 handled sumo events (ailey i think????? was the name of usum!mizuki in the demo, so i ran with it. they were 2 separate ppl) buuuuuuut ik a holdup w that will be that ill have to rewrite everything and actually decide on a personality for mizuki and also. idk i still like the name faaora i think it was french polynesian??? or smth for "hero" which was fitting. this was before the selene/elio name reveal and before i liked moon. if i redid this now i'd jus call her mizuki and have her nn be moon like i did in komadori

oh i JUST checked n the perfectworld fic was last modified (digitally) august 2019. that literally could've been accidentally pressing a key and deleting it tho im not sure. i think my first rewrite was in a notebook so maybe this is the most current version n its digital. i opened it in 2022 which im almost positive was when i did those sketches for korrina and gurkinn's granddaughters from johto. dont you just love when you make ocs for a fic in your teens and still love them years down the line.

i think the last one of note is the ranger au set in sinnoh that p much is abandoned at this point bc i've admitted to hell n back that i didnt write plot details down anywhere n its been so long ive forgotten everything. the only thing i can repurpose is all the background info i had for the sinnoh quintet and how each of them has a difficult relationship with their family and why they're out as "wandering" trainers. i've thought abt this so much bc i still love the designs i gave those 5 and all the lore i established. was gonna do a riley/roark fic last summer using my tron notes for him so maybe this summer i will. doing smth for each of them in detail would be fun since i love them sooooooo. (also i can absolutely still stuff marley/candice into her fic and actually write polartwilight for the first time ever bc i looove them)

The seaside was speckled in the white of the cliffside and the lilies that lined the grassy path down to the beach. It dappled across the sky in wisps, suggestions of cumulous clouds marking the line where the sky melted into the ocean, faraway and like a distant dream. And standing at the seaside, toes nestled in the brown sugar sand as her long hair caught in the salt-tanged breeze, was her.

It had been so long, since they had last met. Like a lifetime ago, a world very far away and lost to the sepia tones of faded photographs. He raced to meet her, kicking up the earth beneath his boots, stepping careful around the lilies that bobbed their heads to the rhythm of the gull’s cries.

For them to meet again here-

Their hunger is what propels duelists, in this paradise of trash, what makes them want and fight and win- and no one’s ever had more of an appetite than Kiryu.

It’s what drags him to the darkest streets of Satellite with nothing but a duel disk and an attitude he know will piss off whoever dares to stand in his way-

And Yusei. Yusei never hesitates to follow him, to have his back against even the biggest of gangs. One day, Kiryu thinks, he’ll ask Yusei to take on the world with him. But Satellite first. Kings of the trash heap are still Kings, after all.

Yusei never slips up, never protests. Loyal to a fault, bright in the twilight. Some part of him knew, Kiryu thought, that very first time they met- He’ll be everything that Kiryu’s ever wanted to run with, the one that stays with him to the very end-

(Even once he starts slipping a knife into his belt before every raid.)

4. No Light, No Light (Florence and the Machine) [perfectworld]

Lysandre had been his sun and stars, the man who had strung them all in the sky just to light Augustine’s days. It was impossible to taint their fondness, the too-bright days that they had spent together, in and out of the public eye. Warm, comfortable, wrapped up in only the people and things that he cared for the most. Blinded by the light of the sun, Augustine had fancied that those days would last forever. He had considered bringing it up, once, twice, a thousand times, bitten it back just as many. He supposed that had been for the best.

Lysandre had been his sky, but he had never been his world. He had his assistants, the children on their journeys still to look after. His darling Pokemon, his darling research- an event at Geosenge could not disturb those.

But oh, how it could disturb him. Send him into fits of memory, tearing apart those words, those actions, those ill-fitting excuses that he could only see in retrospect.

Useless, useless, useless, Augustine- unable to stop the one he loved the most, so willingly dazzled by the flame that had burned too bright.

7. Different Definition (Masaru Yokoyama for G-tekketsu) [aigae]

You have things that are dear to you- so warmly, dazzlingly dear. So gather them up in your hands, you do, hold them soft in cupped palms like a collection of precious jewels.

You hold them close to your heart and cradle them there. But their light spills from between your fingers, and the passersby turn their heads and beg to see.

You’re all too happy to let them. Look, you say, at these precious things. See their beauty.

You wish, without saying the words- be as captivated as I am.

Not all of them are- but those dear things don’t seem to mind. It is only you who those who turn up their nose sit badly with. You try to forget. (You do not forget. Not so easily as everyone seems to think of you.)

And then comes the boy- the boy with whom you share those most precious things, and the man who steals them rough from your bleeding palms.

(You find, much later, that the shards of one of them has embedded itself in your palm. You hold it close to your heart and let it propel your useless legs forwards.

Ein, you whisper, and sometimes, in the quiet moments between thoughts, you swear you hear an impossible answer.

Once upon a time, in a Kingdom ruled by the King and Queen Atlas, forever benevolent, a small girl had lost her parents.

It was not so uncommon an occurrence- though the law was fair and the Kingdom a safe haven, criminals were blinded by their own greed. It is what that young girl heard, at the funeral, at the orphanage, at school- but the young girl was not so convinced.

Because her father had told her stories. A Knight of Rose, a woman with tragic past and the strength of three men, who rose beyond her calling and defeated the terrible old witch who had commanded her parent’s death-

Her father had been a seer. She was not so young as not to know that.

And perhaps- just perhaps, Sherry thought, picking up the sword, staring down the demon that loomed before her- that had been his own little kindness.

“Come on,” Ruri said, “join us.”

Shun didn’t know why there was a record player sitting in the middle of their living room, or where Dennis had found a tuxedo or Ruri had found an evening dress- or where Yuuto had found a tuxedo for that matter. Music came strong through the record player, and Shun wasn’t sure what to make of it, besides how old it sounded.

“Dennis was teaching us how to swing dance,” Ruri said, giving the explanation he hadn’t asked for but very much wanted.

“Where did you learn how to swing dance?” he asked. Dennis grinned.

“I’m a man of many talents,” he said. Shun only stared at him. Dennis relented. “I was in a production of Swing, back in the states.”

That made more sense, Shun thought.

“Okay, okay. Now that that’s out of the way,” said Ruri, “come on! It’s fun, I promise.”

She held out a hand; Shun rolled his eyes and took it. There were worse ways, he supposed, to spend a Wednesday afternoon.
