it was friday, and to say hanji was excited was an understatement. they hadn't seen you in weeks- work and other plans had always gotten in the way.

it was honestly strange.

the two of you lived in the same apartment complex, next door in fact. so how the hell hadn't you seen each other yet??

quite frankly, it sucked. but in exactly 15 minutes, their study hall period would be released, and they'd be able to run out and hug you for the first time in forever.

currently they were sitting at their desk, twirling a pencil between their fingers. it had been a while since they were so excited to get out of school they were counting down the seconds until the minute passed by.

13 minutes. just 13 more, and they'd be able to see you again.

"hey, dr. zoë?"

they glanced at the kid talking to them- oh, it was the weird one! well. more normal than... other kids in their classes. eren. eren yeager. too many weird kids, just call him by his name at this point.

"whats up?"

"are you in love with someone?"

they slowly turned their head towards the kid, attention now fully on him. why the hell was he asking this?

"actually, i've been wondering that too." the blonde bowlcut from 3rd period. "everyday for the past three weeks you've been staring at the clock sorrowfully like a kicked puppy."

they sighed and pinched the bridge of their nose, thinking about what they should say. how were these kids with sloppy grades so smart?

"and why should i even say? thats like... secret, ya know?"

wow. how smooth and suave of them. perfect execution- not suspicious at all.

a quick glance at the clock- 10 more minutes. just 10 more minutes until they'd be able to wrap their arms around you and-

"AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH. i think my laptop broke again."

"armin, please assist mr. kirstein with his computer."

hanji exchanged a nod with the boy, relieved that the topic of you had passed. not that they'd pass up the opportunity to talk about you- they loved it!

it was just really awkward talking about you as though you were theirs when the two of you were... friends. just extremely close friends, of course!

they glanced at the tests they were supposed to be grading, their gaze falling over the last few papers. just these papers, 9 more minutes, and they'd be able to sneak a little kiss on your cheek.

hanji laid their head down onto their desk, right beside the paper. they absentmindedly swiped their pen over said paper, marking it the best they could without spilling ink all over the place.

as they finally set it aside, they sighed. blinking heavily, hanji went to stare out the window, their eyes following the birds as they-

hanji stretched, their limbs popping as they breathed in a deep breath of relief. time to nonchalantly sprint out of the room and into the parking lot to see you.

the afternoon sun was hot, beating down on them intensely. their eyes darted around the area, searching every space for you and your car.

they startled as their surprisingly short coworker- levi ackermann- slapped them on the back. as hanji regained their senses, levi smirked. kind of a smirk? more of a smug frown, if that makes sense.

"watch where you're going, four eyes. we can't afford for you to get run over again."

hanji cackled at the wee man, rustling his hair to watch him get annoyed.

"i'll be okay, half-pint! go run to your big ol' blond and leave me alone for the weekend."

levi grumbled and turned away, beginning to speed walk towards a red honda prius, said hot blond waiting inside it.

hanji continued looking for your car, scanning each and every row until they finally saw yours- a baby blue subaru forester.

excitedly, they resumed their sprinting, the gravel beneath them crunching satisfyingly as they got closer to your car.

and you were right there next to it, looking off at the community garden next to the school with a dazed look in your eyes and a brush of blush on your cheeks.

they put a hand on your shoulder roughly, making you turn and beam at the sight of them.

“it’s good to finally see you, hans!! now, let’s get out of here before miche tries to make you join him for bowling.”

the car ride was close to incredibly awkward, but for several reasons.

one of those reasons was surprisingly not Hange’s hand in your thigh. that was a normal thing- a normal, friendly thing that was done between you and them.

one of those reasons was actually that hange wasn’t even driving while putting their hand on your thigh, but that was pretty much it besides them staring at you the entire time with no explanation.

it was also the undeniably clear tension.

the two of you had been dancing around each other for MONTHS on end, just teetering on the edge of confessing all the while. the truth is, neither of you were level headed enough to really recognize that the other had a crush.

however, tonight would be the night that would change.

as soon as you parked the car and unlocked the doors, hange practically flew out of their side, snatching their things and sort of aggressively opening your door for you. very polite.

they were thinking about doing the same when the two of you reached your apartment, but they’d forgotten you were actually responsible and locked your apartment after leaving it, so another chance to be suave was knocked out of their hands.

once the two of you got inside, they plopped their bag by your door and bounded forward, scooping you up into their arms and sighing gleefully.

some sort of squeaking noise came out of your mouth as hange squeezed you, cooing about how much they missed you.

little did you know, this was the first step of their evil plan... to date you. such an evil objective, really.

when hange finally let you go, they gave you a little smooch on the cheek, patting your shoulder and flopping down onto your couch.

"so, what're we doin' tonight cutie?"

they followed your figure with their eyes as you moved toward your kitchen, making a small effort to support their head so they could keep looking at you.

"i dunno what we're doing, but i'm going to cook some fried rice and watch something on tv. i'll cook two servings, if you're staying."

they didn't respond- too busy looking at you. hange was examining the way you looked in the lighting of your apartment.

"hans?"

"can you c'mere real quick, pretty?"

you shrugged and went to sit next to them on the couch- this was just hange being their abnormal self again.

as soon as you sat down, they tugged you towards them, settling into a cuddling position. subtly, hange buried their face in your neck, sighing contentedly at the scent of your perfume.

after a while, it was clear they weren’t going to let go, shifting their body so it was as close as possible to yours.

you combed your hands through their hair, pleasantly surprised at the lack of oil their hair contained.

“had a meeting today… annoying ass school board made up of old men…

they muttered into the crook of your neck, fingers gently tracing the sides of your torso as you felt through their hair.

just… just normal best friend activities, really!

“hey, hange?”

“mmm’yeah?” they tilted their head back to look at you, blinking sleepily.

“I have… a bit of a weird request.”

they were much more awake now, staring into your eyes as you tried to avoid eye contact with them. you were blushing, they noticed.

“could you kiss me?”

hange didn’t bother to ask any questions- they just wanted to give you a big smooch right then and there.

they took your cheeks into their hands, and smushed their lips into yours.

as the very friendly platonic kiss went on, their nose bumped into yours, making them pull away for a minute to laugh.

when hange got their breath back and looked up at you, they swore they could feel the heat radiating off your face.

“wow, that was…” they murmured, looking into your eyes with the look of someone drunk on love.

“that was..? that was what?? hange, you can’t just leave me hangin’ like that!” you squeaked, sitting up and pulling them along with you.

“sorry, sorry!” hange laughed again, securing their arms around your waist once more. “you’re just so cute it’s distracting me!”

finally, they rendered you speechless, reveling in their victory as you put your face into your hands.

hange gently took one of the hands you’d hidden your face into and kissed it all over, making you put your other hand to the side and focus your attention on them.

“since when did you become so charming, hans?” you quirked up an eyebrow at them as they held your hand, tracing lines on your palm.

they looked at the floor, debating whether they’d respond or not.

“…Levi lent me one of his romance novels.”

“yeah, that makes more sense.”

the brunette looked back up at you, pulling out their puppy eyes and waiting for you to... well, i don't really know what their waiting for at all to be honest.

"why are you looking at me like that?"

"i'm waiting for you to ask the thing."

they continued to stare at you intently, eyes sparkling like brown jaspers. wait- were they expecting you to ask them if they wamted to start dating? even though they brought it up??

"hange zoë," you spoke softly, drawing their attention from your hand. "would you be the sweetest chem teacher ever and go out with me?"

as your words slowly registered in their mind, hange's smile grew progressively wider and their cheeks pinker. with blush.

once more they grabbed you by your cheeks and lowered their lips onto yours.

this time it was less rushed- more loving. they gently cradled your face, giving you several kisses with a smile the entire time.

"how can you manage being the most enchanting person in the history of the world?" they murmured as they pressed another love-filled kiss to your lips.

"i could ask you the same thing, silly." you giggled at their antics, leaning backwards so you could gaze at their face.

the moment was so tender it felt like you were two teenagers who'd never been more in love- it felt like you were two cats snuggling up together under the warmth of the hot sun.

it was perfect.

well, until their stomach rumbled so loudly it sounded like an 18-wheeler stuck in the mud.

"you know, i was just about to say you look good enough to eat!"

they looked you up and down and licked their lips, grinning like they'd won the lottery- or maybe like a cat had approached them on the street.

"nice try, but we're cooking the fried rice."

hange frowned comically and sighed like a victorian staged actor, then leaned forward to rest their head on your chest.

"so be it then. let us cook the rice."

SnK Couples and how they fair with PDA

Eruri: The Soulmates

If the act of flirting and slow burn somehow had a baby together, that baby would be whatever it is these two fools got going on. Do they even flirt in private? Do they know how to flirt? Who's to say. When you have a bond like theirs, and years of being by each other's side, you don't need to be so loud and proud about anything. They exchange lots of knowing glances and are at that point in the relationship where they can anticipate each other's exact response. They would kill it on a couple's dating show. Get no answers wrong, to the point it would be kind of obnoxious and everyone in the building would feel inadequate in their own relationships after seeing them display so candidly how well they know each other on an intrinsic level.

I'd say that because of their age and lived experiences, the two have gotten through most of life without feeling a need to outwardly show their love to the world. Erwin and Levi know very well what they mean to each other and have no desire to put that on broadcast. If you happen to bear witness to the aura of their love radiating off of them, consider it a little gift very few get to experience.

In private they can put it more on display, but the most pda you are going to get out of these two (besides their intense stare offs) is maybe their pinky fingers touching briefly as they share a desk and get some work done. Affection not for the public eye, I feel like Erwin would be the touchiest feely among the two. Levi is not opposed to it, he just feels awkward in his body to initiate it. He does warm up to the idea and overtime finds his own little ways to show physical affection with Winnie in their private personal time.

Eremin: The Sweethearts (Idealistic)

Eren loves pda to a fault. He's the type of casually possessive boyfriend who wants people to know about his beau, about how his is the best and likely better than Your partner. He's kind of loud about everything, especially showing off and bragging about the things in his life he is proud of, one of those things being Armin. He loves kissing, hand holding, arm around the shoulder, running up behind and picking Armin up etc. The more the public is aware, the better. This riles Jean up from time to time, which Eren counters with a "you're just jealous." (prior to him figuring out about Marco, still accuses him of being jealous long after.)

Armin has mixed feelings. He doesn't mind the attention (from Eren) but he isn't always in the mood to be put on display, even in front of their friends. He mostly goes along with it but puts his foot down when it gets to be too much. Eren backs off and respects it. He's just a shameless flirt and loud about his love, which is something Armin has come to love, he just has his limits.

Jeanmarco: The Sweethearts (Realistic)

Despite everyone figuring it out, Jean still seems to be a tiny bit miffed (at first) that everyone knows about him and Marco. He thought he was really good at keeping it under wraps, but no one can deny the way they look at each other from across rooms. It's so obvious to everyone but them, somehow. The way they find their way right next to each other, even if it doesn't really call for it. (Brings to mind them being split up in gym and the fools still passing the ball to one another despite being on different teams, HA) It becomes blaringly obvious that in the absence of each other how quick they go to bringing the other up in conversation. The gang can't tell if their quiet pining is worse or them being insufferable when they are separated. It's never for long or of their own doing, of course.

Marco opts for ambiguous friendly gestures like clapping a hand to Jean's shoulder or back pats. He is content with having Jean and doesn't need to broadcast it to everyone. He wants their friends to know eventually, but Marco secretly likes the idea that the two are being so sneaky and that nobody has figured it out. He assures Jean they have plenty of time before they tell their friends. They can share that info once they are ready. He thinks he's slick, but everybody knows. I'd say that they tend to be a more private couple. Behind closed doors Marco is something else. 👀

Reibert: The Yearners

Reiner adores it, Bert is shy about it. He gets flustered really easily, but sometimes holding Reiner's hand helps him through it. It is a total toss up with lots of factors that could sway Bert one way or the other.

Bert isn't a fan of PDA but he is a fan of pleasing Reiner, so he compromises for the most part. It's really just a matter of Reiner being overtaken by cute aggression and he needs to squish Bertholdt's face, grab his hand and run off with him or get a big bear hug from his Bear! They aren't so obnoxious about it like Ymir and Eren. It mostly turns into the two of them having a moment in the background off to themselves and Jean, Eren, Ymir or Connie jokingly shouting "gaaaay" or some other obscenities to playfully tease their friends.

Yumihisu: The Lovers

Queens of PDA. If they aren't touching skin some kind of way everyone is nervous and wondering if they are in the middle of beefing with one another. A rare occurrence. Not much I can say, we've all seen it. If Reibert are the yearners then these mfs are THEE lovers. No hesitation, just action!

Similar to the dynamic of Eremin, Ymir can lean a bit insufferable, like Eren and be rather showoffy It is however, less of a challenge like how Eren presents it, and more of an unapologetic confession. The way you walk into a room an announce you are hungry is how Ymir would enter a room professing her undying love for her perfect girl, Historia.

Mobuhan: The Lunatics

The issue is that Hange would do anything anywhere with Moblit, for science, of course! Their lack of boundaries just might send poor Moblit to an early grave. Truthfully, Hange's not so bad about it, but when drunk or otherwise not preoccupied with busy work, they could at any given moment slip into a flirty mood and cling to Moblit longingly.

Moblit is indifferent, a mostly private guy but he isn't opposed to it. He just doesn't think to do it, as he spends most of his aware and waking hours keeping Hange from hurting themselves. Hange has no concept of what it means to be chill, and he knew this way before they made things official. I think they would benefit from some light pda, hand holding, but are they holding hands out of a need for Moblit to keep them in check or because they needed to be reassured and connect with one another. Both can be true.

Okay before people start saying shit, I was against Ereri at first too. I thought why do I want to read something that ships a 15-year-old with a 30-year-old, plus the first scene they had together was Levi beating Eren’s ass, and not in a sexy way. I tried to get into Eruri fics, but I didn't like the dynamics the two characters had with each other, so I circled back to Levi and Eren. Turns out I like reading ships with a nontoxic (...okay sometimes toxic) power imbalance and characters who are so fucked up and traumatized they can’t help but need each other. Hence angsty, dark, sexy, and fluffy Ereri fics at your service. I give some love to Erwin in there, don’t worry though. I stopped really thinking about the age difference thing bc it's fiction, and in my pretty little head, I'm imagining two grown fine-ass men with fucked up personalities and attachment issues going at it. A/B/O fic, but like werewolves. This is the first fic in this fandom that I ate TF UP. This was my breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert for 2 days. Fabulous fic. The plot is insane and very well-paced. Definitely a top-tier Ereri fic. 

In this Life, And the Next by HBJenko

Another top-tier Ereri fic. Like seriously this is one of the best fics I've ever read, in all fandoms I've read. It’s so fucking good, you guys. Please read it. Canon relationship but realistic and lines up with the anime. Sex scenes are amazing, fight scenes are fab, fluff and angst is so good it's upsetting. I’ve read it so many times. Also, *good fic to read for power bottom Levi stans

A classic fic in the AOT fandom. Love all the relationships in this fic, not just Levi and Eren. Very cute and wholesome and the writing transports you into the story. Such a fun read, and another top tier fic

This is my first fandom I got into after Dramione, so I was a little hesitant to read the stories. 3 part story of full angst. Izuku and Shoto navigate UA together and it's very traumatic for both of them. A story about friendship and healing together. Love the angst in this one.

Better Than Fiction by @leisey

Literally made me laugh so hard. Izuku and Shoto are pining on each other and eventually find the world of fan fiction, and they fall down a rabbit hole (as one does). Had me kicking my feet and out of breath from laughing so hard. It was such a cute one shot, pls pls read it 100/10.

AOT Veterans red flags Pt.1

A/N: Listen, I don't know about you but I can't enjoy anything without trying to find something bad about it No wonder why I've been in therapy for 4 years, so this is me trying to find annoying things they would do when in a relationship. I will also post the cute/nice things version soon, so don't worry! :p

Levi Ackerman:

Will snap at you when mad. Even if you manage to get him to date you and even if he really loves you, when he’s mad, he doesn’t make exceptions on anyone and will most likely snap at you if you’re nearby or if you’re the reason he’s upset.

Will give you the cold shoulder after arguing. He may be a strong and composed man but most definitely lacks of some emotional intelligence so if you have a fight his first response is to back out and ignore you until he’s sorted his mind. It may be hours, days or even weeks until he starts reaching out to you normally.

Will never admit he’s wrong. Following with the arguing theme, if you guys are fighting about something he is wrong about, he will rather leave you talking to yourself than to admit he’s wrong. He may reach out to you and admit it afterwards but will never do it at the moment you’re arguing.

Will expect you to adapt to his lifestyle and not the other way around. He’s been very independent since a young age and his lifestyle is ruled by very specific ideals and schedules, which means he will most likely expect you to understand and adapt to said rhythm instead of asking for your way of doing things or even try to adapt to yours.

Will not “get out of his shell” for you. He’s a very reserved, quiet and simple man; no, he will not eventually start to like going out and meeting new people and no he will not suddenly change his attitude to be a friendly sunshine just because you’re like that or you want him to be like that. He is who he is and will not change for anyone, take it or leave it.

If he must choose between Erwin or you, he will choose Erwin. This isn’t even a question for him, and it’s not even an Eruri kind of thing, it’s just that for the most part of his life his only reason to keep going has been Erwin’s ideals, the only constant in his life has been Erwin and for him to choose something or someone else above that is almost impossible.

Will not like the things you like just to make you happy. If you like drinking coffee instead of tea it’s alright for him, but don’t expect him to start liking it too just because you offered him a cup. Also, if you are a social person and love to go out and befriend everyone, he will not stop you but won’t go out of his way to be friendly either.

Will most likely ignore you if he gets too overwhelmed. He will not do it on purpose or without a warning but if he’s tired and you keep on rambling about something that may not necessarily be interesting to him, he won’t hesitate on asking you to stop talking or to let you know he’s not interested.

Erwin Smith:

King of gaslighting. Erwin is such a great strategist, he’s smart and analytical, of course he will find a way to make you believe you were wrong when arguing even if he’s actually the one who messed up.

Will neglect the relationship more than expected. Whether you’re dating or married, you really should understand the role he plays inside the walls. He is the Commander of the scouting legion and will almost always be drowning in work, he may not like to do it but will sometimes put aside your relationship for the sake of his job, even if this makes you upset.

Won’t tolerate too much bs. Another practical man who���s been alone most of his life and already has everything figured out the way it works for him. If he dates you and you start to try to change his way of living or his routines, he will break the relationship without hesitation. He needs someone as mature and practical as him who will understand him without fussing about trivial things.

Will flirt and court other ladies if needed. I previously posted a HC about Erwin knowing he’s handsome and using that to his advantage sometimes and I firmly believe he would keep doing so even after he is in a relationship, he may not go all the way and cheat on you for the sake of the scouts but will probably accept an invitation to dinner or a flirty kiss on the cheek if he knows that can be beneficial to the legion. He isn’t trying to make you jealous or upset you, but don’t expect him to pass on an opportunity if the time is right.

King of mansplaining. He does not do it on purpose, I promise. But very often he will explain the most basic thing to you as if you were a toddler who just learned how to talk. He will also use that slow and condescending voice when explaining things that makes your blood boil.

Is a very jealous partner. Yes, he may flirt with a lady on a ball but that’s just because it’s for the sake of the scouts; your sweet greeting to that seller at the market isn’t saving the world so why do you need to greet him in such way?

Will leave to expeditions without saying goodbye. This behavior may appear only the first two or three times after you get together, this man is afraid of dying outside the walls and leave you waiting for him forever, so what does his smart yet dumb brain tells him to do? Leave without saying goodbye. that way if he does come back, he can always apologize and if he doesn’t, well, hopefully you’re too mad at him to notice he didn’t make it back home this time.

Hange Zoe:

Will prioritize their projects above anything. And yes, that includes you. If you’re expecting them to push everything away and come running to you just because they’ve been secluded in that office for too long, think again. Because they won’t.

Does not understand boundaries at all. Oh, you’re sleeping after a tiring shift? Don’t care, come look at this cool rock I found. Do you have an irrational fear of titans? Close your eyes, I will show you something so cool you will forget you fear them! (They will take you to see a real titan up close).

Will look down at you if you don’t understand them. They will constantly ramble about things that sometimes may be too complicated to understand, and if you dare to tell them that, they will stop talking and go find “someone who’s smart enough to understand”.

Hygiene isn’t their priority. They will run and hug you even if they just came back from training and they’re sweaty and smelly. Your clothes will never be clean again because they will randomly wipe their hands on whatever surface is near and, sadly for you, that will be you most of the time. “No, I don’t need to shower just yet, I did it a few days ago”

Will zone out when you’re talking. This isn’t necessarily their fault; they are just so invested on that new formation they suggested for the next expedition and can’t stop thinking about it that your childhood story about that bruise isn’t worth the time.

Will steal food from your plate without asking. “Sorry, I didn’t realize you were saving that piece of meat as your last bite, it seemed so delicious that I thought I’d take it before it went cold”.  “What do you mean it’s disgusting if I put my hand on your soup? I just wanted to fish that tiny potato and eat it!”.

thank god for you fic writers because isayama forgot to give erwin and levi much of expressed personalities i believe🫠 when I watch the series they feel feel a little dull, i find myself a lil disinterested, even. When I read fic, they fight, they yell, they get happy, they feel down, they feel desperate I can read about them expressing every emotion and it makes me so happy and makes them feel all the more like realistic characters sorry for rambling and thx for reading lost, ily I'm glad u exist

Thank you for your kind words about fic writers Anon, however I think you’re being a wee bit unfair to Isayama. I think he does do an incredible job of developing Erwin and Levi’s characters and relationship with each other.  I would never have fallen in love with these amazing characters and been inspired to write over a hundred fics about them if he hadn’t.  However I do agree that a lot of this character nuance gets lost in the anime. This is a perennial gripe about all anime though. While anime can do an incredible job of bringing fantastic worlds and action sequences to life, it tends to be at the expense of nuanced character development. This is almost inevitable when you consider the length and complexity of a manga like SnK.  And this is why if you really want to understand Erwin and Levi’s characters in detail I’d highly recommend reading the manga and the supplementary guidebooks, which is where some of the most important canon information about Erwin and Levi’s relationship comes from. 

One of the things that’s been interesting to see over the years is that, because the Eruri fandom has had an incredible number of immensely talented artists and authors, an increasing number of Eruri fans come to the fandom through fic and fan art rather than through the manga or even the anime. I could be wrong, but my impression is that this sometimes results in fans having particular expectations about Erwin and Levi’s characters and their role in the story.   If you’re deep into the Eruri fandom, it’s easy to forget that although both Erwin and Levi play a pivotal role in the plot, they are still side characters. EMA are the main characters and that’s where the focus of the anime lies. 

I think one of the reasons that Erwin and Levi are such attractive characters to write is that Isayama does give them complex and nuanced characters, but the story also leaves enough space to explore what might have been.  This is particularly true of the period between ACNWR and the manga, which has always been fertile ground for fic writers, given that it must have been a pivotal point in the development of Erwin and Levi’s relationship. 

Anyway, I’m glad you enjoy exploring all the wonderful Eruri fic that the fandom has been blessed with, but don’t write off Isayama altogether, he’s the guy who gave us these amazing characters in the first place after all.

2). What’s your total AO3 word count?

246,488 words… almost a quarter of the way to 1 million lol!

4). What fandoms do you write for?

attack on titan/shingeki no kyojin (eruri, etc); hades/the iliad/tsoa (patrochilles, pza, etc.); I might start eventually writing some fics with hades 2 characters since I already have a couple of ideas, but I kind of want to wait for 1.0 and take some more time to get to know the characters first and see which ships (if any) possess my brain 

5). Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, I do my best to respond to all comments (though unfortunately I’m still way behind in replies for a couple of my older fics💦) The reasons are I want to show my gratitude to anyone who takes the time to give me their thoughts, but also it’s really fun to be able to talk about the characters & relationships with other people who love them as much as I do! Not to mention it’s an opportunity to talk about my writing, so anyone who is willing to indulge me pretty much has my heart 😂

6). What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Tbh I write a lot of angst fics and can’t resist giving a touch of melancholy to most of my endings… Pressed Flowers and Liminal Spaces are both tagged with MCD so maybe by that virtue alone they would be considered to have the saddest endings? But at the same time I don’t think any of my fics including those ones are 100% bad/downer endings either. I’m usually aiming for a beautiful ache, iykwim :) As an aside, I love the fact that I wrote In Full Bloom with the intention of ending it on a happy note, but Hades 2 coming into existence has given it that twinge of melancholy I always covet without me even having to do anything! >:D 

7). What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Me, write happy endings?! Well, Closest To My Heart has a happy ending, right? >:3c Nah but fr I do have a couple of stories that you might be able to categorize as “fix-it” fics, which means they’re happy by virtue of the original source materials being tragic: I’m thinking of Sea Of Love for Patrochilles and Nonbiri-Ya for Eruri.

8). Do you get hate on fics?

Not really, maybe like two times total? And both times were extremely low effort non-comments… like maybe they were a teenager who didn’t read the tags and realized they were at the wrong circus and had to say “what the fuck?” out loud before walking out type stuff, haha. Idk they could’ve been complimentary in that edgy, hyperbolic internet speak way but since these people are talking to a complete stranger, it just comes off as weird so it gets deleted uwu

9). Do you write smut?

I’m ngl, at the start of all this I kind of thought I was going to be the sort of fanfic author whose bread & butter is atmosphere-rich, deep-dive character-study type stories in which smut would be secondary… but then the horny bug bit me and I realized how much writing smut fics is fun for me, and so now currently 14 out of my 22 works (almost 2/3rds) are E rated, LMAO 🫣 tbh it’s actually kind of great because I’ve also always admired a lot of smut fics too, so why not aspire to do both, yk? Something for the sophisticated, slowburn epic enjoyers AND something for the decadent, depraved sex perverts! (there are two wolves inside of me uwu)

10). Do you write crossovers?

Not really. I do kinda mix & match with the “canons” of different greek myth retellings but does that really count?

11). Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of… hopefully not!

12). Have you ever had a fic translated?

I’ve translated several of my own fics into Japanese, two of which are currently posted on AO3. I received one request to translate one of my fics into Russian… if it ever got done it was probably posted somewhere on ficbook and I haven’t seen it. Also another fic of mine was translated into Russian and Ukrainian concurrently as part of a group project I and some other friends did together.

13). Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

No… I’m not really sure how it all works but I may possibly be interested in trying it out someday 👀👉👈

14). What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Oh god, all-time? Idk, get back to me on my deathbed and ask me then (Old Lady Me: “It was called, ‘the Ship Of Dreams’… and it was. It really was.”)

15). What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Idk… I feel like I’m early enough in my fanfic writing journey that I’m optimistic that I’ll at least finish all the ones I’ve started eventually. Now that Liminal Spaces is done, Where The Dead Forget is back to being my only serially published WIP and I am absolutely determined to finish it no matter how long it takes! There are some ideas I have that I’ll probably never end up getting around to writing… would they even count as WIPs if I haven’t started them, though?

16). What are your writing strengths?

Oh god… chat what do you think? I suppose I get a lot of compliments about atmosphere and tension. I think I’m good at creating a satisfying rhythm and a sense of timing to emphasize the impact of whatever I’m trying to express. I also think I write pretty good endings!

17). What are your writing weaknesses?

I think writing Liminal Spaces exposed that I need to work on my ability to diversify narrative voices. Or maybe it just seemed challenging to me since I don’t often do modern AUs, and for some reason I had it in my head that it should sound more casual and less lyrical? lol. At the same time I’m not sure how I would’ve been able to fix it and have it still read like something I wrote. Idk it might be something I continue to puzzle over and experiment with in the coming years. Also, just as I think my endings are good, I wish I was better at writing intriguing first sentences/paragraphs. I always admire stories that completely capture my interest from the word go (don’t we all?) so I think I should practice getting better at that

18). Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I’ve never done it before so maybe my thoughts are that it’s unnecessary? Unless I was like, writing a situation where the pov character is being spoken to in a language they don’t understand, perhaps. Slightly related, I’m planning on attempting to write some song lyrics for a fic in the near future and I���m toying with the idea whether or not to write them in a foreign language or if I should just do it in English. Understanding it probably wouldn’t be important and it could be a vibe… but idk, might be a bridge to cross when I get to it

19). First fandom you wrote for?

Omg I just answered this for a writer meme on bsky and it made me giggle so much to remember this: I was 12-13 years old and it was for Gundam Wing… I wrote a childhood au where the gang goes to summer camp. I had never been to a summer camp in my life so I have no idea why I thought that would be a good setting but my self-insert OC was in it and I’m pretty sure it was peak tween cringe <3 Alas, I'm pretty sure it’s lost to the sands of time. The other thing I mentioned on that bsky meme was also that I very vividly remember my first smut fic being a dead-dove James/Sirius (from Harry Potter) fic that I wrote when I was 16-17 maybe? I believe it’s also lost to time despite trying to find it again recently so I can’t confirm how good or bad the writing actually was… but I’m ngl I’d still kinda fw the premise now, even if teenage me was trying a little bit too hard to be edgy, lol. If I weren’t completely done with that franchise for moral & ethical reasons I might’ve considered writing it over again just for fun. Oh well! :)

Hello! Quick question : I saw time and again references about "freckled Erwin" in fics & fanarts, do you happen to know where it originated? Was it from an official art? Or was it simply something Erwin fandom came to agreement with (I too, am 1000% on board with this headcanon now lol). Just simply curious, that's all. I was on hiatus for some years for the snk/eruri fandom activities (though I never stopped reading eruri fics all throughout & have been getting trickle bits of snk/eruri updates that way instead) but hey it's Erwin's bday month why not do a quick scrolls here and there to celebrate before I retreat back to peacefully living under a rock lol Sorry if this ask is very random out of nowhere! 😂

Oof. Since Erwin's fandom has existed for 15 years, it would be quite a task to locate the first ever mention of freckles across international art and fic. But I popped into @lostcauses-noregrets tags. The earliest mention in her vast archive is 8 years ago so I suspect the Eruri braincell has been hard at work for quite a while freckling both Erwin and Levi. (Bonus: this comic she reblogged is adorable!).

I will leave you with this tho. In the comfy corner of Eruri Island where I reside, the talented @ackermantihora is where I go to quench my Freckled Erwin thirst. I'd recommend an Erwin birthday scroll there to see all the lovely art before you exit the scene once again, anon.

Legacy by Haedraulics - I was so compelled by this one, set in an AU in which Erwin and Levi both fight for Marley, but Levi is still an Ackerman. Idk I was thinking about it for weeks.

Ace by Karumen - I'm partial to this one because I was the beta for it! Eruri high school baseball AU.

Bodywork by @rooksacrifice - This fic is FOOD. I swear Laz writes sexual tension so well.

Beastiarium by Mysh - Smutty dragon Erwin AU. Completely over-the-top melodramatic. Mysh is a visionary and I love it.

Nebula by aelandair - This is the famous "egg fic." Dead dove do not eat but also everybody likes it and if you say you don't I don't believe you.

Honey by @leverwings - Oh my god. Oh my GOD. Rarely am I treated to something so atmospheric and well-written.
