bobby saving a spot for eddie in the 118 is not just convenient/obvious story writing, but also firedad being very very aware of eddie’s commitment issues cuz this is the second time he’s left them and everyone and their MOM knows it ain’t gonna stick. evan buckley, your man is an (lovable) idiot.

Can we just talk about how, for the past however many weeks since Eddie told him he was moving, Buck has had to deal with that knowledge ENTIRELY on his own? All that emotional weight and burden, crushing him like he is Atlas having to hold up the entire sky - because Eddie asked him to keep it secret. Because who else could he even talk to? That's it - his entire support network. He can't talk about it with Eddie, can't be honest with him about how he really feels and how it's ripping him up inside - and it's clear that they hadn't talked as of 8x09. Can't go to his sister, because then Chimney will find out. Can't talk to his firedad Bobby, or his firesis Hen - none of them! As of 8x09, Buck has been dealing with this ENTIRELY 👏 ON 👏 HIS 👏 OWN 👏

And idk... i just want to hug him and pet his hair and listen to how sad he is without judging him, and go buy him a fucking dog or something.
