FIRE PLAY

Fire play is a form of edge play and temperature play.

The most common types of fire play are; contact fire and body fire. Contact fire involves running burning implements along the skin. And body fire involves smearing flammable substances onto the skin, and then setting them alight for long enough to tingle without actually burning.

Some other types of fire play you can look into are:

- Cell Popping.

- Fire cupping.

- Branding.

- Flash cotton.

Never participate in fire play under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Fire can scar a person horribly as well as cripple or kill them in painfully brutal ways so if you’re using it you need to be as focused and in control as possible.

Fire play is quite specialised, and you shouldn’t try it unless you’re 100% confident you know what you’re doing, have practised extensively, are first aid certified, and know what to do if it goes wrong. Learning through guides, workshops, and practice is essential.

Knowing basic body structure is key. Know where the skin is most sensitive, like around mucous membranes, and avoid areas like the face, neck, crotch, nipples, the inside of arms, behind knees, and Achilles tendons.

Before a fire scene; you should always make sure the Sub is free of flammable oils or fragrances. To be extra safe, it can be a good idea for everyone to rinse off first.

Keep in mind certain synthetic fabrics can melt and burn you and things like acrylic nails are quite flammable. Additionally, refrain from wearing metal jewellery as it can burn you if heated.

There are many ways to do Fire Play, each with its own level of risk. Whether or not you’re doing actual fire play or simply using fire to light a candle you should keep nearby:

- A first aid kit.

- A flame-retardant fire blanket or towel that can quickly put out fires in an emergency

- Burn creams and aloe vera.

- Hair ties.

- A phone for emergencies.

- Water bottles and/or a bucket of water.

- A fire extinguisher.

Unusually mild for May Eve in the north despite the cloudless, velvety sky speckled with stars and adorned with the waxing quarter moon. Two big bonfires are burning in the centre of the meadow, their red orange flames licking against the nightly firmament. Happily dancing tongues inviting to dance yourself. But no, not yet. She is far too full from the delicious feast and desires nothing in the world but to sit here at the edge of the pasture under the blooming hawthorn bushes, swathed in their sweet spring scent that reminds of vanilla and almond with just a splash of spice to it - and wrapped up tight in the strong arms of her lover. So this one is a little more complicated. Overall, I don't have as much experience with temperature play as most of my other kinks, so it doesn't get a higher rating. But the experience I do have is all quite positive. You can do some really fun things with ice and sensitive places. Wax feels sooo nice and can illicit some fun responses. Not to mention, it looks so pretty. But my favorite type is Fire Play, I've only bottomed for it once at a kink party, but it felt AMAZING. It's a nice comfy warmth, and the psychological effect of having part of yourself be on fire is EXHILIRATING!
