..... I now have a new AU idea just cause of one word.... Showman....

Like, I wanted to challenge myself, so I asked Awa for a theme and/or emoji's to base a Grillby of. What I got was 💦🍡💎, which is super hard! But I came up with 2 ideas:

One which is already quite "showman", inspired by Mettaton (I were thinking a host like Mettaton or working for Mettaton), and the other a clown/jester idea.

I knew I wanted his personality to be playful, but not be full out clown. So combining the host/Mettaton idea with the clown/jester idea, I got showman out of it, and my thoughts started spiraling from there.... (I'll post showman Grillby later, when he's done);

What if the whole underground were just one big show? But then wouldn't Asgore be the showman? Maybe the different areas of the game is their own kind of show/entertainment? Like, the royal guard could be more daredevil and do stuff like sword swallowing, fire breathing/dancing, sword fights and other more risky entertainment. I feel like Mettaton would have something similar too the royal guards, but more elegant with a bit more flair, probably also having acrobatics. Snowdin most likely have comedy/clowns/jesters (not basing my showman Grillby on that idea though). Maybe Asgore's thingy is animal taming as it is seen as unethical, which is one of the reasons Toriel leaves him (but he does it in the most ethical and wholesome way as he's a big softy. But maybe he became a bit rougher cause of grief after his kids died?).

If the whole underground is one big show however, maybe they AU hop, visiting AUs like a traveling circus???? Like, all of the sudden, there's a small circus tent appearing un Outertale, but when you walk in the tent is way bigger on the inside, many from different AUs sitting there and watching the show.

A/n: Can heavily relate to this one lol. On another a note I'm getting though writing fics with the power of anxiety and Adrianne Lenker (muscle flexing emoji)

Emotions are...hard

Throughout your life you could never properly describe what you were feeling

When ever someone would ask you to explain how you feel, your answer would always "I don't know"

No words ever felt like they could fit what you were feeling

You could never tell if someone was upset, which led to a lot of conflicts in relationships

In the situation you now found yourself in, everything got a lot harder

Obviously everyone was upset and irritated at having to travel with each other, but that's where your understanding of what everyone else was felling stopped

When going around and trying to help everyone, one of your part members ended up snapping at you for not being to fully read how upset they really were

You ended up moping back to your own tent and didn't even come out for dinner

Most party members just ignored it, everyone skipped a meal once in a while, especially if they don't feel good

Everything was tense after all

But Halsin didn't let it go

Once the fire was put out and everyone was going to bed, he decided to check up on you

When he found you curled up in a ball, he almost panicked

He knelt down to you and asked you what was wrong

But you couldn't find the words

You explained through your tears that one of the other party members had snapped at you

But that was all you could do

You couldn't describe to him how that made you feel, couldn't explain why it hurt you so bad

He simply nodded and held you close

All he knows is that something made you upset enough to cry, and even if you couldn't explain it, it was important to comfort you right now

After quickly checking if it was okay to touch you, he held you close

Bear hug, quite literally

When you explained that you have trouble understanding how you and other people feel, he just nodded and squeezed you tighter

He reassured you that it was okay

Different people have a hard time with different things, and yours just happened to be emotion

He held you until you eventually fell asleep, then watched over you for the rest of the night

after then, Halsin becomes much more protective of you, especially when it comes to emotional situations

He also has a talk with that party member, acknowledging that they might be stressed, but they can't snap at you like that

Halsin understands you have trouble with emotions, and he'd never be upset with you over that, always comforting you, walking you through your emotions, and helping you with his and other's

Like previously stated, Clover is a fraternal twin, the other being an "expy" of my primary genshin OC. To sum up their lore without needing to put trigger warnings (/lh): dysfunctional household -> realizes she's queer at a young age -> things get Worse -> ran away in late teens -> ends up with their first partner. said partner is Horrible in multiple ways -> on the run again, trying to cope with everything and survive as they go from planet to planet to figure out what to do next. picks up odd jobs, including mechanic-related stuff. oops guess that's their profession now -> runs into the Astral Express crew at some point -> ??? -> aboard the Astral Express.

How did they come to join the Nameless, you might be asking? ... Good question, I still don't know either. If I had to estimate, either during or after the initial Penacony quests (2.2-2.3 ish) I'd like to think they boarded the Astral Express, but as for reasoning... not sure yet either.

They haven't had much of a chance to partake in the traiblazing itself, mostly from her trying to get acclimated to everything first. As a mechanic, a lotta the time when they're not out with the others, they stay behind to help with the train's maintenance, especially when Himeko is unable to. Not entirely boring though, considering frequent maintenance it's just quick checks for the most part, so free otherwise. A lotta their social interaction comes from either the rest of the folks on the train itself and whoever pops in from the guest book. Got some funny anecdotes w/ Boothill and Argenti for that in particular.

Clover's bi, ambiamorous, demiromantic, & fluctuates on the asexual spectrum. My go-to ships w/ her is themself, Boothill, and Argenti because I'm a raging queer and those two will not get out of my thoughts (/lh). Also tryin' to come up with stuff with them and a few others (Robin, Serval, Sunday & March 7th; tried to figure out stuff w/ her and Gallagher but considering the timeline of when she'd end up with the Nameless, I don't think it'd work out unless in like an AU maybe).

misc trivia:

primary weapon- taken inspo from destruction path Trailblazer- is a big metal wrench. Gotta love hitting people over the head with large metal objects for your ultimate, right?

on a similar note, they create shields with their skill! not sure of much past that

Chicago is strange, modern-ish, windy, and inhabited by a variety of living beings, all of whom are From Chicago from the moment they set foot in Chicago, and who collectively make up all that is Chicago, which is personified in Mx. Chicago. Chicago also has a complex relationship with fire. And it's from Blaseball! (That clarification is needed because--aside from Fallen London--it's the only city with a real-life counterpart left in the competition.)

Please remember: There are no bad cities, only bad citizens! Keep trash-talk to a minimum! Despite the name, this is for fun, not fighting.

I have a lot I could talk about, but I’ll try not to ramble on for too long, haha. I wanted to start off by saying that I always love it when you use the unicorn emoji on your posts! I like rainbows and unicorns too, so seeing them here is very nice. Also, I think your mask is super cool, not scary! I wear masks too sometimes, but only ones that cover my nose and mouth. They’re especially helpful for staying warm on cold days!

By the way, did you know that adding different kinds of metal to fire can make it turn different colors? For example, putting copper into fire can make the fire burn light green! I’d suggest asking Engie or Demo for help if you want to try this—I know Demo mentioned in his interview that he uses potassium chlorate, and pure potassium makes purple fire, so maybe he’d know where to get some?

While I don't have the big unpopular opinion about him (since the Zee Kay girlies on here are pretty much united when it comes to stuff about him), I have some tini tiny opinions concerning him which maybe not many people share:

I grew to absolutely love his early 2000s eyebrows. They give him kind of like a dainty/fruity/yet cool look, I slowly really start to love them.

I am not the biggest fan of the sleeve thingies he picked up on wearing during the LIFAD tour and still wears today. It looks kind of try-hard in my eyes, I could do without them.

Sometimes I think it would've been good if he hadn't shared too much about his kids online, especially about his youngest daughter Maxime. The family pics and music videos are cute and all, and he sure is a dedicated father, but from a mother's point of view and after some research about the topic of posting children online, I don't think it's the best idea.

Maybe not an unpopular opinion but something which is super rarely talked about: I love how friendly, interested and polite he is in most interviews. He really takes his time for his answers, engages with the interviewer like it's a normal conversation, asks counterquestions, commends good research by the journalist and is pretty diplomatic even if some questions are downright impertinent. It's a joy to listen to him or read his answers. Like I said, not really an unpopular opinion, but something not really talked about (at least I have that feeling) 😇
