Ashes // part 2 (Reader x Klaus Baudelaire)

Violet patted you on the back, moving through the submarine to the back parts. Giving you a comforting smile, hoping it would encourage you that everything will be alright. You weren’t feeling it yet, only giving her a simple shrug. Violet let you go through first, stepping over the border to get through the door.

Arriving at the main place. Sunny sat there with Cook. Clearly debating with him. It was funny as Sunny wasn’t that good with words yet, but that didn’t seem to stop her from explaining her point. Cookie swelled up in it, trying to make her see it the other way around. – “Sunny, Cookie.” – Violet spoke with furrowed brows.

It both made them stop their bickering. Cookie rubbed the back of his head shamefully. Flustered that he was caught bickering with a toddler. Violet walked up to her sister, picking her up from the table, she had been standing on to meet his eyelevel more.

Sunny mumbled at Cookie with one eye closed. Cookie pointed back at her with a cheeky smile. – “We’ll continue this.” – he whispered to her. It made Violet look over her shoulder with a certain motherly scowl in her eyes. Making Cookie swallow nervously, taking a humble step back. Violet came joining you once more seeing you were laughing.

“Glad to see you are laughing.” – she said poking in your cheek. – “Only because you gave Cookie the fright of his life with one look.” – you replied. It made her crack up, chuckling. All of you gasped when there was the sudden sound of a bang. A small cogwheel busted off a pipe, flinging itself in your directions.

Violet and you ducking down just in time before it could hit you square in the face. Steam releasing itself from the pipes seconds later. Violet sighed, handing Sunny to you. – “This darn ship is falling apart with each minute.” – Violet told you.

She moved to the table, taking a tool, letting it drag off the table with not much enthusiasm. Cookie came shivering closer to her. – “Can… can you fix it.” – he asked fumbling his chef’s hat in his hands. Violet turned her head with boredom at him. A stupid question to ask. You had set Sunny down, searching with her for the cogwheel.

Sunny called it out having found it under a desk. – “Brilliant Sunny.” – you told her, kneeling beside her. Coming to lay beside her, you reached your hand out to grab for it. It took you a few tries, stretching your fingers to get a hold of it. Pulling it closer to you so you could easily take it.

Getting back up all sweaty, you puffed some lost strays of hair out of your face. – “Got it!” – you called out victoriously with the cogwheel up in the air. You gave the cogwheel to Cookie, who accepted it with both hands. He gave it to Violet so she could mend the pipe once more. – “I’ll be here for a while.” – she told you.

“I’ll take Sunny to the sleeping quarters.” – you replied back. Sunny looked up to you with one eye closed. – “It’s nap time.” – you told her, squatting down to her height. Sunny gave you typical childish glance that she didn’t wish to nap. You took her hand, not letting her fool you.

Sunny was getting tired and there was no way she would admit it. Waving Violet goodbye, you set off further down the submarine. – “I’ll tell you a story before naptime.” – you told her on the way. Hoping it would smooth her protest more. You looked carefully both ways, hoping you wouldn’t encounter Fiona or Klaus.

Still not over it that Klaus had fallen so easily for the new girl with a pretty face. You had been travelling the longest with the Baudelaire’s. Perhaps… perhaps he simply saw you as one of his sisters. The idea made you shudder, hoping it wasn’t true for your heart very much called out his name.

Sunny and you arrived at the sleeping quarters. Stepping over the border to get through the door. Making sure Sunny wouldn’t trip over it. Turning your head to the beds, you froze in shock. Klaus was here. Sitting on your bed with… with your sketchbook in his hands. You immediately panicked. – “Where did you get this!” – you shouted out, snatching the book from his hands.

It startled him as he hadn’t heard you come in. Simply staring at the pages in deep thoughts. – “Y…Y…Y/n.” – he stuttered out jumping to his feet. You clutched the book against your chest, moving away from him. – “I…I…I didn’t…” – he stumbled out, trying to get a good word out.

“This is private!” – you snapped at him, tearing your gaze away from him. – “I…I… I didn’t mean to look Y/n.” – Klaus called out trying to redeem himself. – “But you did!” – you answered harshly. Klaus looked down at his sister, seeing her even glare back at him. Knowing it was wrong of him to look.

“Y/n… I’m sorry I…” – he tried once more, taking a step closer to you. You shielded yourself more from him. Wiping your cheek dry at the sudden feeling of a tear rolling down. Klaus noticed it, letting his shoulders slouch with much regret. – “I’m sorry Y/n. I was worried about you.” – he responded making you laugh loud.

“So you decided to snoop in my sketchbook. You know that is private!” – you declared to him once more. – “I know.” – Klaus answered accepting his fate. – “Y/n I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel left out.” – he spoke, making you turn your head in shock back at him. Shock settling for anger as he had seen the last page. – “You saw it!” – you yelled at him, pushing him back.

Klaus stumbled back against the beds, keeping his gaze low. Slowly he nodded. You wanted to throw your sketchbook at him, already making the movement as it made Klaus shrink, ready to receive it anyways. Before your hand let go of the sketchbook, you stopped. Dropping your sketchbook to the ground as you couldn’t stop the tears anymore.

Klaus slowly looked up, hearing your loud sobs. His gaze falling on the sketchbook on the ground. Open with a sketch of your father on the page. Monty. Klaus moved to you, wrapping his arms around you in a tight clutch. You started to cry even louder. Punching his back for all the pain he had caused your heart. Klaus endured every punch, burying his face in the nook of your neck.

Not letting go under any circumstance. – “I know… I know…” – he said feeling you drop to your knees. He dropped down with you, still holding on tight to you. Your punching died out, crying loud against his shoulder. – “I hate you for choosing her!” – you told him with one last punch. Klaus received the impact, keeping himself strong. – “I know… I’m sorry.” – he answered with guilt. – “You wouldn’t even care if I died.” – you accused him, thinking if Count Olaf came to kill you now, he wouldn’t move a beat.

Klaus pulled his head up, taking your face in the palms of his hands. – “Don’t say that!” – he said loudly. – “If I had too I would venture to the underworld to reclaim your soul! I would never let anything happen to you, because I care for you Y/n. So… so…so darn much!”

You stared in shock back at him. He wiped some tear stains away from your cheek. – “You like Fiona.” – you told him. – “She’s nice.” – he responded receiving a punch in the armpit from you. – “Au!” – he called out, rubbing his armpit. – “But I like you more.” – he added with a sheepish smile. – “Now you are just lying.” – you answered, crossing your arms.

“I am not.” – Klaus responded placing his hand on your arms. You looked away, not believing him. Klaus pulled himself a bit up to lean in. Pressing a gentle kiss against your cheek. The touch left you flustered and bashful. – “Does that answer your question?” – he asked shyly, rubbing his palms nervously together that he had just given you a kiss. Sunny spoke as it made the two of you snap out of it.

Klaus and you laughed, opening your arms to her as she came running over. Joining the two of you in a hug. There was a sudden weight against your arm as you noticed Sunny had fallen asleep in your embrace. – “I’ll take her.” – Klaus whispered, picking his sister up. He carried her over to a bed, laying her down. – “I’ll stay with her.” – he told you. You nodded. – “I’ll go see how Violet is doing with that busted pipe.” – you whispered back. Klaus’s brows furrowed with confusion. – “Don’t ask.” – you responded.

You were about to head out when Klaus called you back. It made you look back at him. – “You know I like you, right.” – he whispered whilst rubbing his hand over Sunny’s back with comfort. – “I do now.” – you responded with a smile. Taking your leave, you returned to the main place. Hoping to see that Violet had been able to fix the busted pipe.

You turned a corner, nearly bumping into Fiona. Both got startled by the other one, taking a step back. Both remaining in silence, not really wanting to talk to one another. Yet Fiona was the first to ask a question. – “Where is Klaus?” – she asked. – “With Sunny.” – you told her with a clenched expression. Fiona made an effort to go past you to him, but you came blocking her path.

“Sunny is sleeping, leave him be.” – you made clear to her. Fiona looked you up and down. – “I will be quick.” – she said trying to pass you again. You moved so she couldn’t get through. – “Leave them be!” – you let out. Not that afraid anymore to speak up to her. Fiona scoffed loud. – “I’m the captain of this submarine. You don’t tell me what to do!” – she pressed on.

“And I’m still not letting you through. If you are so desperate to see Klaus, it will have to wait!” – you crossed your arms with a glare at her. Fiona’s cheeks puffed with redness. – “Let me through!” – she called out moving to the right to try and surpass you there as you moved in sync with her. She started to get frustrated that you weren’t letting her pass. – “Get out of the way!” – she gave you a slight push in the shoulder to move.

“No!” – you stated, not giving in. Fiona’s cheeks bloated even more with anger. – “Then I’ll make you!” – she shouted ready to fight her way through. – “What is going on?” – A third voice came through. Fiona lowered her aggressive stance. – “Klaus.” – she called out all sugary. – “I was just looking for you, but this one wouldn’t let me through.” – Fiona motioned with her chin at you.

“This one is Y/n.” – Klaus spoke in your defence. Coming to stand beside you. – “What is it that you needed me for.” – Klaus asked. – “I…I well… I thought we could a bit further for the sugar bowl.” – she responded. – “Maybe later, Sunny is sleeping now and I’m staying with her.” – Klaus answered. – “Oh…” – Fiona said, unsatisfied with the answer. Klaus turned back around. Throwing you a wink before heading back to the sleeping quarters.

Fiona turned on her heel with a shame over her. You couldn’t help yourself but smile. Feeling a bit better, you continued to head for the main place to see how Violet was doing.

Summary: Y/n has been with the Baudelaires since they showed up on Monty’s doorstep. When they board the Queequeg, Y/n can’t help the jealousy overcome when Fiona gets a little too close to Klaus.

A/N: I can’t remember the exact plot of the grim grotto, so in this they’re all just kinda hanging out on the Queequeg ig lol

If you had asked Y/n L/n where they saw themself in a few months, they wouldn’t have guessed all the unfortunate events they and the Baudelaires had experienced. Bouncing from guardian to guardian, only tagging along with the Baudelaires because the late Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, their own guardian, was tragically murdered and coincidentally wanted Y/n to be taken care of by the also late Josephine Anwhistle. Being chased down by a homicidal, overgrown theater kid after the Baudelaire fortune.

They also wouldn’t have guessed their current predicament, being stuck in a submarine captained by a teenager. Her name was Fiona Widdershins. She had become captain of the Queeqeug ever since her stepfather got a distress call from a manatee. She was looking for a sugar bowl, the same one that the Baudelaire’s former guardian Esme Squalor was after.

She was also very captivating, especially to a certain Baudelaire. And it pissed Y/n off.

Klaus wasn’t theirs; they knew that. Y/n was constantly reminded of that. But watching as he and Fiona worked closely together to locate the sugar bowl, flirty remarks from her every now and then, Y/n couldn’t stop the jealousy from overcoming them.

“He doesn’t even know her,” Y/n muttered as she watched the two laugh at a joke from afar.

“You know,” Y/n was startled by Violet’s sudden presence beside them, “You could tell him how you feel. It would be better than moping around, watching the two of them.”

“Absolutely not.” Y/n shook the ridiculous idea away. “That would end in disaster.”

“How so?”

“When Klaus rejects me-”

“He won’t.”

“Fine. If he rejects me, we’ll still be stuck together in a submarine until God knows when. And the situation’s awkwardness would be so suffocating that I would jump out into the sea to escape it.”

“Oh, don’t be so dramatic.” Violet laughed at the visual of Y/n’s words. “Klaus won’t reject you, Y/n. I know it.”

“Then why is he flirting with Fiona right in front of us like that?”

“He probably doesn’t see it as flirting, just regular conversation. Klaus may be book smart, but he’s not exactly versed in things like relationships.”

Y/n knew this was true. They had known the Baudelaires long enough to know that they weren’t very experienced when it came to romantic feelings. Most of the experience they did have was from the people they had encountered when their unfortunate events had first started to occur.

“Whatever, I’m still not gonna tell him.”

“Tell who what?” Y/n was again startled by another Baudelaire sibling, Klaus. It seemed that Fiona had gone to steer the submarine in the needed direction, because she was out of the room.

“Actually, we were talking about-” Y/n put their hand over Violet’s mouth to stop her from exposing them.

“Nothing!” Y/n had said that louder than they intended to. They cleared their throat. “We weren’t talking about anything.”

Klaus gave Violet a look. Y/n couldn’t decipher what the look meant, he looked confused, but there was some kind of message in his eyes. Violet apparently knew the message because she made up some excuse to leave.

“I’ll go check on Sunny.” She left quickly, leaving Klaus and Y/n alone in the room.

“Shouldn’t you go back to Fiona?” Y/n immediately hit themself mentally for the question. Why did they feel the need to bring Fiona up now that she and Klaus had finally taken a break from flirting with each other?

“Why would I go back to Fiona?” Klaus looked even more confused. Y/n couldn’t help rolling their eyes.

“Why wouldn’t you? You two were flirting and close together so much that I’m half surprised you didn’t start kissing right there.” Why was Y/n digging themself into an even deeper hole?

Klaus laughed.

Why the hell was he laughing?

“Y/n, are you jealous?” He asked, looking intently at them. They averted their eyes, knowing that looking at him would reveal everything. They didn’t feel like jumping out of the submarine right now.

“That’s absurd.” They scoffed. “Public displays of affection are just disgusting, that’s all.” Klaus laughed again.

“Disgusting? Really?” He took Y/n’s hands in his, making them look at him. “Y/n, there was nothing affectionate about my conversations with Fiona.”

“Maybe not on your side, but she seemed to think differently.”

“Why do you care so much?”

“I don’t want to see some girl flirting with the guy I like. Is that such a crime?” Y/n started punching themself on the inside again. Klaus looked pleasantly surprised.

“Last time I checked, it’s not.” Y/n couldn’t understand why he was being so cheeky. “If it makes you feel any better, though, I have it on good authority that the guy you like isn’t interested in Fiona.”

Oh.

“Oh, um… Is the guy I like interested in anyone?” Y/n asked. They had a feeling where this was going, but you could never be too sure about these kinds of things. Klaus nodded.

“Yes, he seems to like a particular someone.”

“And that is?”

Klaus moved closer to Y/n, leaning down. Their lips were so close to touching yet so far.

“Guess.”

a/n: so how’s yall doing?.. I’m tired af cus I’m not a morning person lmao.

disclaimer: this is basically a rewrite of that tua s4 episode with the children birthday party with lila and diego but my oc is in this season! there will be oc x cannon involved since im shipping five x flame- not five x lila b/c it doesn’t exist on my acc. if you don’t like oc x cannon, then this acc isn’t for you sadly. also i will be adding the deleted scene with five and klaus b/c idk why they didn’t add that scene.. like why? also five & fiora r in there 20s cus its s4 & five isn’t apart of the cia b/c my boi needs a break. also dave is alive b/c klaus needs his bf <3

warnings: fiora breaking the 4th wall, gets a little spicy between five & fiora but they get c0ckblocked by klaus & dave lmao, fluff (ofc), fiora hanging with kids (she can’t stand them sadly but doesn’t mind them.), cussing (ofc), mentioning of fish head (aj aka her adopted father)

a/n: this is my first time writing for these characters, so my bad if they seem ooc. Especially five lmao. (my boy was written worse- fuck you steve.)

We see Fiona herself, smoking a cigarette outside of the birthday party place. She sighed softly in relief, taking a few puffs after a long day of singing in clubs, bars for men/women alike because the girl herself thinks that everybody deserves love in there time.

Except bad people, she really hated bad people and her adopted father, who basically forced her to do evil things and run errands for him but since he’s dead.. Fiona felt relieved and a bit of guilt flowing in her body due to her and adopted father’s relationship with each other but she chose to ignore it, putting out her cigarette and heading back inside to see Grace running towards her with her arms out, hugging Fiona’s waist, making her a bit shook but she looks down at Grace and saids “hey sweetheart, how is my favorite niece doing?” Grace looks up at Fiona and saids “I’m good Auntie Flame! Have you talked with Uncle Five yet?” Grace asks while Fiona blushed a bit by Grace mentioning Five towards her, it’s been a while since those two have talked really- Fiona heard that Five is taking a break to himself but she shrugged and said “I have not sadly. Been busy with my singing and doing alot of painting- so I haven’t really talked with anyone in a while.” Grace pouted a bit and asked “why Auntie?” Fiona sighed softly and said “ever since everything has gone back for normal, I been going to therapy to talk about the past and who I really am inside. Except I still have my powers because I want to have them forever, I don’t want them to go away. I enjoy having them. Been taking time for myself to focus on my mental health and yeah.” Fiona smiled softly at Grace while Grace understood Fiona and smiled back at her.

“Now your Auntie Flame is gonna have fun, okay?” Fiona said, going down on one knee and kissed Grace on the forehead, making Grace giggle and said “ok but make sure you join me in the ball pit later, ok?” Grace asks her while Fiona laughed a bit and saids “alright alright, I promise I will but right now.. let me go have fun. Bye bubbles.” Grace giggles, waving at Fiona and going to have fun. Leaving a smiling Fiona on one knee and slowly getting up, standing on her feet.

Fiona began to walk around the place, seeing parents having fun with there children and slowly not smiling anymore since she never found her real parents but she decided not to give two fucks about it.

She noticed the bubbles, making her smile and popping one. While she popped one bubble, she felt someone watching her from afar and she noticed that a smiling Five was watching her while holding beer in his hand, making Fiona walk slowly towards him while smiling a bit and said “Five Hargreeves, my long time frenemy and the man who killed the fish head aka my adopted father. How are you old man?” Five deep chuckled a bit and said “Fiona aka the demon gal who hated me cus I killed her horrible adopted father and had to do it for my family. I’m doing well Flame, how about you?” Five said with a bit of a sarcastic tone in his voice and taking a few sips of his beer.

“Well, I been doing great. You mind giving me beer?” Fiona said with a bit of a soft tone in her voice, Five hummed a bit, giving her a beer bottle as well.

“Thanks Romeo, appreciate it.” Fiona said while smiling softly, opening the beer bottle, taking a few sips of it and just smiling softly at the children running around the place while Five smiled softly, just staring at her and asked “you thinking about something?” Fiona sighed a bit, looking at Five and answered this “yeah, just watching the children run around the place like they own it- reminds me of myself as a child. Good times good times really.” Five hummed softly at her answer and decided to hold out his hand, he asked “you uh wanna hold my hand love?” Fiona nodded yes and began to hold his hand while taking that hand back and deciding to grab on his tie with a bit of a smirk and asked “so you uh got any plans pretty boy? I’m loving the new look of the new you. Suits your pretty self.” Five smiled a bit, looking down at Flame and said “no, I don’t have any plans really.. didn’t expect you to be confident. Why’s that?” Fiona let go of his tie, answered with “I been using my charm- I call it the demon flirt charm. It’s uh something but eh. I don’t really like to be confident in myself.”

Five sighed softly, wrapping an arm around Flame’s shoulders and said “Listen to me sweetheart, you always feel confident in yourself. Be proud of that, be proud in your heart that you can still do the things that you love. You still kick ass Flame, still do and you can’t forgot that on how many times you managed to beat me at arm wrestling.. and sometimes Smash Bros when we were back in season two.” Flame started to laugh softly, feeling happy and said “yeah, those were good times- I mostly blame my author sometimes for stupid shit.” Five chuckled a bit at the last part on what Flame said. Suddenly Klaus, alongside his boyfriend Dave started to walk towards Five and Fiona.. Klaus said “Fiona! Five!” Fiona started to run towards Klaus, giving him a hug while smiling softly, still holding her beer while looking up at him and said “Klaus! I missed you buddy. How are ya? Also who’s the boy next to you?” Klaus chuckled softly, messing with Fiona’s hair a little bit and said “Fiona, homie- this is my boyfriend Dave. Dave, this is my homie Fiona.” Fiona waved softly at Dave while Dave waved back at her and said “It’s nice to meet you Fiona, heard so much stuff about you. Coming from Klaus ofc.” Fiona laughed a bit and started to stand next to Five while smiling softly.

Five started to ask “So, how long have you been sober Klaus?” Klaus responded with “Oh, uh, coming up on three years on January 15th, but who’s counting right?” Five said “that’s amazing” while Fiona gave Klaus a thumbs up, she was proud of her bestie becoming sober for three years and Fiona said “Really, good for you buddy. Proud of ya.” Klaus smiled softly at the two and said “thanks guys, really appreciate it.” Dave started to have an arm around Klaus while feeling proud of his boyfriend while Klaus, Five and Fiona did a toast with there beer bottles.

Feeling proud of themselfs for surviving.

Flame started to check her watch, sighing softly and said “I was supposed to join Grace at the ball pit- fuck. Gonna need somebody to go with me.” Five decided to go with her while the two waved goodbye at Klaus and Dave.

While the two were walking, Five said “I don’t really have a choice on joining, do I?” Flame said “nope, you don’t. You’re her uncle ofc.” As soon as they got to the ball pit, Five pushed Flame into it, laughing a bit at Flame while Flame got a little annoyed at him but soon she saw Grace, Grace was giggling and laughing at the duo while Flame rolled her eyes playfully. Soon enough, Five got in as well- he didn’t like it but eh. You win some, you lose some.

Just for the record, (I have to put this out there seeing as there is so much division in the fandom) much as I love both Fiona and Quigley…I personally will forever ship Violet x Duncan and Klaus x Isadora. They were just the cutest, most supportive and wholesome couples. Besides the Quagmires were literally kidnapped for the Baudelaires and come on Duncan carving their initials into the red herring was next level. 😂 Anyways, Violet and Quigley shippers I’m still here for you, I get it. As for any Klaus and Fiona shippers (if there are any I’ve honestly seen no support for this) while I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. But you’d have to convince me.

hello, anon!

sorry for the wait, i just got back from work!

i do have ships for the unfortunate gen, but there are only a few i feel strongly about, especially in the romantic nature.

otp of otps: quiglet (violet x quigley). love them as friends who bonded in the most harrowing circumstances on a cold mountain, love them in the most damn tragic sense on being each other first important loves who so desperately want to see other again and continue on where they left of, but over time growing up, they realize it's a dream, and now only hope the other is alive.

(the few ships in general out of any fandom i'm in that i gave a song. one more time one more chance by masayoshi yamazaki. song best known from the anime movie five centimeters per second. highly recommend watching the movie, and then listen to the song solo.)

anyway, i think what has me drawn to the ship is that throughout the series, violet has gotten unwanted attention from olaf and two of his henchmen. violet must feeling violated and almost disrespected, because grown-men are thinking about her wrongly.

and here is quigley, a boy her age who respects her boundaries, and thinks of her mainly by her talents and skills when first hearing of her. violet is clearly smitten by quigley (and no doubt quigley is smitten by her like that boy fell hard just hearing of her skills as an inventor).

strongly important ship, but not an otp: kliona (klaus x fiona). i love them more as friends (book buddies!), and while i don't mind the romance, i see now that the circumstances (small cramp space that is a submarine, first person who is in a similar field or at least know said field) and adrenaline (captain widdershins goes missing, sunny is dying) made it a bit rush.

and that, i feel has me headcanoning how fiona isn't sure how she felt about klaus after she and fernald double cross olaf, and she's all 'oh shoot...did klaus even like me back?'. klaus i'm for sure has/had a crush on her, and he thinks about her even in post-canon, but he realize they were never going to be sweethearts.

i believe that both klaus and fiona don't regret meeting one another, and while fiona does have fears about their first last kiss (like fiona regrets taking klaus's first kiss if he didn't like her back romantically), both would do it again. it's like a sadder studio ghibli romance; the love they had changed them as people.

honorable mention that aren't otps or strongly important to me, but i feel strongly about: klaus x quigley (a rare pair i enjoy very much and it's a shame they have such short interactions), viona (violet x fiona; i think there is lots of potential for them when things cool off a bit), viodora (violet x isadora; legit i just think they can be in a happy calm together), fiona x duncan (it's an unexpected ship that develop from an unexpected friendship), and quiona (quigley x fiona; it's more of a brotp of brotps but i do ship them romantically i just like them as friends more)

Favourite otp: Dunclet, they have a very heated chemistry and should have been endgame which is why I don’t like Quigley or maybe Duncalita (Duncan x Carmelita) I definitely saw the chemistry with him and Carmelita at Prufrock I’m just saying something might’ve happened if they had shown more.

Favourite brotp: I feel like he might get along with Carmelita or even Fiona, minus getting a glare ir two from his sister for even going near Fiona from the Figley Kiss, but I love sibling rivalry so definitely Quigley.
