what an interesting position it must be to be where Finn is in season 2. you meet this girl and shes great and you want to date her and you do. time passes and it becomes abundantly clear that your girlfriend is not over her ex-boyfriend who is actually married and unhappy about it. the three of them come to you for their sick dog and none of them seem like they even like each other. you have to put down the dog with all three of them in the same room and the more time goes by the more it feels like something will explode. the situation surrounding the four of them in those last few episodes is FASCINATING to me.

There was a point in Elementary when I looked forward to the kind of actors who would be put forward to see if they had any on-screen chemistry with Lucy.

What was a bit confusing though was Jon mentioning to Meredith that he assumed that she didn’t look like her photo. I mean....does that mean that Meredith wasn’t given a photo of him? Or that was a sign that he met his date (also named ‘Meredith‘?) on a dating site?

The verdict? I mean...I would have been pretty happy with Josh Radnor, Scott Speedman, or even Chris O'Donnell. They all did a good job with their characters (able to stand toe to toe with Ellen in a scene) as well as have that onscreen chemistry.

My Top 6 Picks For Meredith Grey’s New Man

I don’t think that Meredith Grey NEEDS a man, per se. She has a lot going on with her job and being a single parent, and her sisters and Alex and Richard. I actually have really enjoyed Meredith as a single mom, doing her own thing, not getting all tangled up in dating drama. And as much as I didn’t love McDreamy, it’s pretty obvious that Meredith did love Derek, and doesn’t expect to ever have love like that again. That said, Meredith’s feeling a little lonely and is going to be trying this dating thing again no matter what I say about it. So here’s my list of men I think Meredith could have a good life with.

Tom Koracick-aside from loving Greg Germann as an actor, I just think that Koracick is a great pick for Meredith Grey. Meredith is attracted to people with strong personalities. People who arrive as characters as a more or less developed personality. Think Derek, Kidney Transplant Doctor, heck, even Mark Sloan. Koracick has his reputation as a bit of a man-whore in much the way that Mark Sloan did back in the day. But we’ve also seen that this behavior comes with one of Meredith’s favorite qualities, and that’s a dark sense of humor. Bonus, like Meredith’s, this humor is a product of a traumatic past, just like Meredith herself, and both of her “persons” Alex and Cristina. Koracick had a vulnerable moment with Meredith where he confesses how important the friendship of Catherine Avery is to him. He also tells April about how he lost his child in a tragic freak accident. I think this really lends itself to the fact that he will be able to relate to Meredith, who has been dealing with losing her loved ones her whole life. Also, he’s a father, and maybe at first he’ll resist stepping into that role with Meredith’s children, but he does have that experience. Because I think that’s my biggest issue with more conventional matches for Meredith, she comes with her three kids, and oftentimes her two sisters. I think Koracick has compatble life experience and that the two of them have a very natural chemistry. Bonus, unlike many people on the list, never dated any of Meredith’s biological siblings, only her sister-in-law.

Jackson Avery-I wish the whole Maggie-Riggs-Meredith thing hadn’t gone down the way it did (Meaghan was great, I just wish Maggie hadn’t liked him) because now this romance seems highly unlikely. I actually do like Jaggie, but before it was established, I sort of thought that Jackson and Meredith would have made a good match. I still think this. I think they were raised in very similar backgrounds. They were both raised with names associated with surgical greatness, by career-driven single women who left/were left by their husbands who couldn’t keep up. Every time they disagree about a course of treatment, I get chills, because of the energy and chemistry they give off. Something that may be weird, but oddly solidifies my thinking that these two would be a good couple is Jackson’s dating history. When Jackson and Meredith first met, Meredith was already married to Derek and well off the market. He never pursues her, but he does make a go of it with quite a few of the women close to her. First, her best friend, Cristina Yang, who immediately rejects him because she has a significant other. Then, her younger half-sister, Lexie Grey, who I think shares a lot of traits with Meredith. And now he’s dating her other half-sister Maggie. I think a lot of people don’t find Meredith alike, but I really think that Maggie greatly resembles Meredith in the If/Then episode where Meredith was raised by her mother and Richard (they could have foreshadowed Maggie here if they’d wanted to). I also think Meredith and both of her half-sisters are alike in some pretty major ways, in terms of ambition, intelligence (Meredith is the only one of the three who has not been confirmed to have skipped a grade), and the desire to do the right thing. Jackson is also father, who’s child is around the same age as Ellis Grey II. Harriet has a step-sister close in age with her mom’s recent marriage, but it would be nice for her to have that with Jackson as well, I’m hoping we see that with Maggie or Meredith. With this, Jackson lost his son, and is currently struggling with his place in the universe, which is something I think Meredith is just more equipped than a lot of other women to understand.

Robert Sullivan-has never met Meredith Grey, to our knowledge, and if you have no idea who he is, he’s the Captain at the fire station on Station 19. I’ll be honest, I also think he’d make a good match for Andy Herrera. However, the more we learn about Sullivan, the older I’m starting to think he is. We don’t really have and exact age for any of these characters, but the age difference seems to be more than I thought originally. And while Andy has certainly known loss, Sullivan and Meredith have both lost their spouses, which is what really brought Meredith and her last real relationship, Nathan Riggs together. I think Meredith might loosen Sullivan up so that he’s a little more chill, and I think he might bring some seriousness and commitment that she need in her life.

Finn Dandridge-aka McVet. It’s been a LOOONG time since we last saw Finn, and he said he would not wait around for Meredith, and hopefully he hasn’t been. However Finn clearly could have been someone Meredith would be able to be happy with. And hey, Matthew moved on after April left him at the alter and married Jackson, and now he’s got a baby, married to April, and seems to be doing well. In that vein, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched to think that Meredith and Finn could cross paths again now that Derek’s gone and rekindle what they once had. We don’t know how he feels about kids, but he seemed pretty into the whole commitment thing, so I’d be hopeful.

William Thorpe-again, a face we didn’t see for long, and haven’t seen recently. Thorpe was the doctor from the army hospital. He was the first person that Meredith was with after her husband died, and from her reservations with Riggs, he didn’t really overcome that for her. However he definitely got her started. He also did say he would wait for her. I’m not really sure how long that promise to wait was good for, as some time has definitely passed. But he definitely knew about the trauma and the full family that she was bringing with her to the table, and for me that’s really important.

Alex Karev-he’s been with her since day one, and if he wasn’t so head over heels for his wife, he’d be the top of her list. One of the few characters with a childhood crappy enough to be a blip on Meredith’s radar, they’ve been friends since the early days. He’s her person now. He witnessed everything that’s really happened for her, and as more and more people leave the hospital, there are fewer and fewer people who remember Derek. Also, aside from his temper (which, I mean, Meredith’s always running a little hot herself), he’s already a perfect person to co-parent her kids. He’s a pediatrician, for one, he deals with sick and injured children for a living. He’s already looked after her kids on his own before, for extended periods of time, like when she was attacked in Season 12. I think that Meredith and Alex feel like family, but not necessarily like siblings. I think the big issue with Alex is that he loves Jo, and there’s no way that Jo and him would ever not be together that would leave Alex in one piece. If she left him/cheated/died/etc. he’d be too wrecked, in my opinion, to ever love again.

Edit: Using the same reasoning as my arguement for Jackson, Alex also dated Lexie Grey.
