Good morning and Happy September 1st! . That means #Sadie is out in just three more days! @macmillanusa & @wednesdaybooks were kind enough to send me this gritty, thrilling and heartbreaking arc. . Sadie is a YA thriller about two sisters. Sadie, the eldest, decides that the local sheriffs office isn't doing enough to find out who killed her little sister. She takes matters into her own hands. But now Sadie is missing too. . When a popular radio program about lost things picks up wind of whats going on we discover what happens when Sadie goes after the killer. . I really enjoyed this book. Summers gets you inside a characters head in a way I haven't seen in a long time. The subject matter may be hard for some people but I truly believe going into this knowing as little as possible is what makes this story have the impact that it does. . Something thats really cool is that you can listen to the podcast featured in the book called "The Girls" on itunes. . What was the last book that you read that felt like it took a little piece of your heart with it? ❤️. . I just finished Sadie by @summerscourtney and I’m telling you guys this one left me shook! It was so good that I barely have words to describe it! I will say that this book is not a happily ever after tied up with a pretty bow. It is dark, it is twisted, it comes with trigger warnings and it shows us a part of humanity that most of us try to forget exists. But this book will change you, will make you look at things a bit differently and it will take a little piece of your soul in the best way possible. This is the story of Sadie and her sister Mattie. These girls grew up in an America most of us are lucky enough to never have experienced. When her sister Mattie is found dead, Sadie becomes determined to find her killer. It sends her on a trip across the US to find him but then Sadie goes missing and no one can find her. This book is told in a dual POV, one part is Sadie and the other is a radio show host named West McCray who started a podcast called “The Girls” where he investigates the death of Mattie and the disappearance of Sadie. The Podcast format is pure genius and I loved it! This book was 5 stars for me and I highly recommend it! I will leave the synopsis in the comments and the link to the podcast in my bio! .
