This episode gained a lot of positive responses with 87.6% rating it at a 5, with only a couple people not so impressed. Hopefully future episodes will keep up the high streak!
As it stands right now, this is my favorite episode from the anime. How the Beast Titan's rampage was animated was so much more horrific and impactful than the manga, I felt more sympathy with Erwin than I did when I read the manga, and the final series of scenes that depict the suicide charge were so masterfully done I felt my heart grow heavy. Absolutely spectacular. I hope the next episode is even better <3

A lot of attention was on Erwin this chapter and many were moved by his scenes. Most notably, his charge with his soldiers at the Beast Titan led with 28.9% respondents picking it as their favorite moment. 17.8% respondents said Levi kneeling in front of Erwin and vowing to take down Zeke was their favorite, followed by Erwin’s motivational speech at 14.3%.
Bombardment scene was made 30 times better in the anime.
It was the moment we were all waiting for, and it happened and now I'm like a deflated balloon of emotion. Thank you, Erwin.
The imagery of the fallen scouts chilled me and I loved that included Isabel, Farlan, Isle Lagnar etc but my anger towards Annie has been resurged seeing Petra's face. Female titan I'll never forgive you for wrecking Levi Squad!
Erwin and Levi's relationship is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen, and I was happy seeing how it was portrayed, finally. With them having cut so many of the moments that showed Erwin as human, I'm glad they took the time to draw the moment of his smile so much. Long live my Commander, I would have followed him to hell.
I was astonished at how well they adapted Levi and Erwin's scenes.  Bravo, the animation was top notch, the voice acting was stellar, like wow.
The bodies on the red background was really dark & was the part that had the most impact on me (as opposed to the manga)
erwin and levi's talk made me a lot more emotional than it did in the manga. the whole team did a pretty damn good job with this episode.

41.3% of respondents believe that there was no other choice Levi could have made except to defeat the Beast Titan. 39.9% think the plan was the better of the two strategies.
It was the only viable narrative choice, but if it was a real battle retreating with as many survivors as possible might have been sensible.
Levi gave Erwin salvation by making the choice for him and gladly transferred Erwin's own burden of guilt and responsibilities onto his own shoulders. Which also why the word choice of "follow" seems iffy. Erwin is a proven master strategist and brilliant tactician, so of course you always go with his plan. BUT Levi didn't just 'follow' his plan, he made an active *choice* to implement the plan. It is Levi's plan as much as it is Erwin's.
Levi let his personal feelings get in the way of determining what would be the best hope for Humanity's survival.
I sincerely doubt Beastie would have let the survivors go unmolested all the way back to Wall Rose, and Levi knew it which was why he said he doesn't really expect anyone to survive this situation. Erwin had to make his last contribution to humanity in that moment, and they both knew that.
i think the plan should have been to stunt the beast, as we know that he doesn't get killed here anyway (obvs they don't know that), just buy some time ans save as many souls as possible.

Erwin’s moment of grief was a somber scene for many, and over half of participants feel the adaptation tugged on their heart strings more than when they read the manga. Less than a quarter felt more sympathetic, with quite a number preferring the original manga version better.
There’s something about actually hearing his voice that made me want to cry again
I dunno, I think both mediums had different but equal impact in terms of the actual speech. The anime is very emotionally and viscerally effective, whereas with the manga you take longer to process what's in front of you at your own pace, in the privacy of your own skull. Both very moving.

I prefer the scene in the manga because of Erwin having more moments of being himself instead of colder than a summer day in Colorado, as the manga clues in more to him being a sad old man. However, Ono Daisuke’s voice acting was ON POINT. Erwin’s voice cracks like he was going to cry, the distance in his voice, it just made me cry.

Since RtS, Floch has become a paramount character in the current manga arc. Viewing his breakdown in the episode, 37.1% respondents think the moment was great in humanizing him. 18.4% respondents are less moved and found pleasure in his despair. Several were reminded why they used to like Floch and some gave praise to his seiyuu’s performance.
Back when I read the chapters, I found Floch to be annoying, now with the recent ones I really dislike him more. I still felt the same watching the episode but the seiyuu did a good job
Um, a combination of the above options I think. I was always 'meh' about Floch until his jerkface side began to show. So I never actually 'liked' him, but I certainly empathised with him at this point, and his seiyuu was definitely brilliant!
I have never liked him, really
I don't agree with his mindset in the current chapters of the manga but seeing the fucked up shit that he went through being the sole survivor and even then not being able to revive the Commander. I can see that trauma changed him to just follow Eren's instructions that he would let someone like Zeke live on but give far lesser thoughts to his actual saviour, Levi. As such, in the particular episode and the extent of the anime, I pity him and his VA did an amazing job of displaying a normal soldier's reaction.
Independently from his future actions, I think his breakdown is irresponsible and it doesn't help, given the circumstances.
Floch's a prick, but his VA was fantastic here and actually made me sympathize with him quite a bit. Can't wait to hate him again in a few eps though.
I had a lot of sympathy for him at the time in the manga, and seeing it again has made me think about how he's come to the point he has in the current story. PTSD and survivor's guilt explain a lot.
Hate him with a passion. I had forgotten that Levi actually kinda saved him, and now knowing how he wanted to kill Levi in recent chapters made me hate him even more.
I don’t give a floch
I think there still a hidden motive that Floch has since he is definitely following Eren now. I predict that in his mind he is honoring his fallen comrades by acting the way he is in recent chapters. Might be messed up externally, but I think there is more to Floch since his motives likely match Eren’s who we still haven’t quite figured just yet.
Of course we can have sympathy for someone without justifying their actions. I do sympathise terribly with Floch's trauma as the sole survivor of the suicide charge, but I do NOT accept it as a reason to become a militant ethno-nationalist. (His seiyuu was beyond amazing tho, props)

I would definitely like to see more of Moblit, we have barely seen him this season. I feel like the only scenes we'll see him in are pre-death and post-death (we could see him as a ghost in Erwin's grief scene). Moblit deserves way more than this. Marlowe is adorable and seeing him die will be enough to break my heart, especially when you think that the only person surviving that suicide charge was not a great person like him, but the disgusting scumbag that Floch is.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
This was the best episode so far that has been aired. The emotions were high, the soundtrack was impeccable, the animation/drawings were fantastic (aka Levi had emotions!!!), and it really did a good job manifesting the hopelessness of the situation to the audience.
I forgot how hopeless the situation was during all of this. The constant narrating on stones in the background and the recruits screams really showed that
My only gripes were the music choice and lack of proper facial expression (Although, maybe that's just because Isayama is amazing at expressions)
That red mist was so horrible and made everything look so gruesome, I was in shock. This episode really hit me hard, I wasn't ready to watch it and now that I have, I'm having a hard time recovering
I was HEARTBROKEN at the end of this episode. Hard enough to read the chapter, worse still to see it on screen. So much sorrow and regret for poor Erwin.

I've never felt something watching SnK until this episode. Erwin's face during the suicide charge was something... That was the real face of fear. He knew he had to let go his dreams for the sake of humanity, unlike previous times where he used this excuse to move forward his dream.
The music and Erwins’s voice actor made it nearly perfect
WIT is playing a dangerous game with the amount of CGI they're using. It hasn't really "ruined" anything for me yet, but they're getting close.

The episodes have just gotten better and better, and this one might just be my favorite in the series. Definitely top 3. Just fantastic execution all around. It truly managed to bring back that feeling of hopelessness. Daisuke Onoue is an absolute legend. Not ashamed to say I cried about 3 times opon rewatches.
This episode broke me. Literally. I was mourning for Erwin for a while after, still am. I thought having read the manga would prepare me somewhat for the Vow™ conversation, but holy shit. I dunno if this is in the manga but Erwin had tears in his eyes when he sat on the crate. Erwin Smith was *crying*. And his voice (kudos to Daisuke Ono!!!) just. Absolutely wrecked me. Amazing, amazing episode. The kind you badly want to rewatch again and again but can't without bolstering up your emotional strength each goddamn time.

Yes, been a hundred of this things. Totally a meaningless milestone which is one of my oldest tags on here (assuming any are left after the purge...) still I thought I’d do something for it. 
Specifically I’ve gone back over the old Q&A’s and found some favourite questions and answers which I’ll be including in this after the usual round of outstanding ones. Possibly also with some extra commentary where appropriate.

In that case you’ve got to think that your slavers might feel that they’re surplus to requirements :D

Glad you’re enjoying it! 
Likely yes. There’s ways currently now to set up a few ways to get tribute every so often. More groups though who are more hostile than the not-witches in the marshlands or the mistress of the Ensnared Rose are sure to be a thing sooner or later.

- Not in the current version. Basically I wasn’t happy with the implementation in terms of how they were removed so I disabled them for a bit till I can sort it out… which unfortunately has lasted quite some time.
Soon as I got this No Haven update done they’re top of my list of things to sort in Whorelocks.
(Oh zogging hell. Still not done that yet... Extenuating circumstance for sure with NH taking off and WR was still in RAGS at that point, but even so)

- I’ve looked at Twine and when I one day get round to Rough Landing 3 it’s definitely going to be done using it, but to me it looks like an incredibly poor fit for working on No Haven.

- Why thank you! I have several pages bullet pointed of what I have planned along with what I have in my head. For stuff not in the next update I’d say not counting more slave training assignments and options and more assignments in the other areas the big bits of content outstanding are;
Way more potions. (Still do do)
Enchantment/cursing of items system.  (Also still do do)
Crafting Devices. (Also, also still do do)
Ways to manage encampments when they get to large by sending slavers/slaves to new areas to provide ongoing gold/supplies along with the occasional assignment. (Oh dear, also, also still do do)
More stuff for you like going on every assignment, bad ends for some of them, more interactions, being enslaved and so on. Basically lots more sub and also some dom content for when you’re not managing the encampment. (Woo progress made! Bad ends for some assignments going on are indeed a thing. Still work to do as I do want to give Crossbones and Into the Depths the QAYL treatment sometime)
Special events that will occur every so often that will affect things be it for good and bad. This will include a way to get a lost slaver back though perhaps forever altered by their experiences. (Woo again this is done. Definitely could do with more done with)
Encampment reputation to reflect a slaver’s standing with how the other slaver’s see them. This will includes slavers becoming slaves and visa versa. (On a roll now as a great deal of this implemented)
More biomancy options and improving thanks to a multi-part assignment. There will also be other multi-part story based assignments. (Partially done and the biomancy multi-part assignment has been started)
And a bunch more basically but those are the priorities after this next update. Probably not all in the same update though.

Psion: No changes need to be made whatsoever from the original version.

- True story, I had to google undyines and for ages I couldn’t work out what you were referring too as so many of the results were of that character from Undertale :D
Undines themselves would be no, but I do have a water spirit of a kind planned. (Still do!) Gnomes no, as I’m happy with Hakh Dwarven and the various Goblins as my short races. Dryads absolutely yes, and will be one of the advanced races. See the last Q&A for more details of those.

In a lead judgement delivered by Justice Sidi Barge, the apex court held that by virtue of Section 11, Rule 5 of the Supreme Court rules, the appeal against the High Court ruling,  having been withdrawn by the APC,  was bound to be dismissed. Justice Barge said that since the Court of Appeal failed to make dismissal pronouncement for the said appeal, the apex court had no choice but to invoke Section 22 of the Supreme Court Act to assume jurisdiction over the case and decide on it. “It is my considered opinion that this appeal must be given a decent burial,” the apex court held. When it became glaring that all hopes were dashed, the idea of temporarily funding and supporting the AAC governorship candidate, Biokpomabo Awara, became irresistible for the leader of the APC in the state (Amaechi). While addressing supporters of the main opposition party in the first week of March, few days to the governorship election,” Amaechi said, “On Saturday, we will vote for the AAC. You must go home and vote for the AAC. There should be no excuse not to vote because there will be security for everybody. You must prepare and make sure you win the governorship election.” But the link of the former governor to the AAC became evident when Awara, himself, without any place to call an AAC state secretariat, used a property belonging to an APC stalwart in the state for his first major briefing of the journalists after the governorship and House of Assembly polls were suspended in the state. Awara condemned the Independent National Electoral Commission for suspending an election, he insisted had been concluded. Within the same month (March), Akpo Bomba Yeeh, who was Awara’s running mate, released a bombshell when he announced his defection from the AAC to the PDP, an action seen by many as the final blow to the governorship aspiration of the opposition party. Yeeh maintained that the decision to leave the AAC was entirely his own. He announced his withdrawal and immediate defection to the PDP on Monday in Port Harcourt. The scenario in the state before and after the 2019 election exposed the fact that the major political gladiators played one role or the other in shaping the outcome of the election. Political observers believe that from the former lawmaker representing Rivers South-East in the Senate, Senator Magnus Abe to Wike, Amaechi, Awara and Yeeh, their game plans affected each other’s interests. Earlier, Wike had made a sudden appearance at an event organised at the Polo Club in Port Harcourt by Abe, a development that made some APC members conclude that the former lawmaker and Wike had a mutual understanding as far as the protection of their interests was concerned. He was looking for a place to land and he saw that in the AAC. Omenazu, however, described Yeeh’s decision to dump the AAC at a critical time as cowardice, adding that the ex-deputy governorship candidate should not be blamed because he (Yeeh) dabbled into space he was not used to. He added that Yeeh had ended his political career for taking the decision to dump the AAC for the PDP. Still, on Amaechi and Abe, Omenazu added, “Amaechi and Abe have been friends for a very long time. They should resolve their problem and move forward. But if they cannot, Rivers APC members who are not comfortable with the situation can leave the party, while those who can bear the fight can stay. Also, a legal practitioner, Benson Oruwari, explained that what played out in Rivers State before, during and after the 2019 election was the highest level of political gambit, adding that while Wike was planning to maintain his grip on the mantle of leadership, using all logical tactics, Amaechi, who felt that the court decisions were not in the favour of his party, decided to temporarily pitch tent with the AAC. Oruwari said, “Though the game plan did not work out for Amaechi, it was a move that showed him as a rugged politician. If these politicians come together as one force, there is nothing they want in this country that they cannot get. Again, nobody should see Magnus Abe as ignorant, he wanted to contest for the position of governor and he proved that he also has the right to vie.” However, with the recent establishment of a caretaker committee by the National Working Committee of the APC to oversee the congresses of the party, members have been told to put their past behind and get ready for the ward, local government and state congresses. But the Abe faction of the party in the state insisted that they would not accept the caretaker committee because they were not consulted before the decision was taken. A former Attorney General of the state, Worgu Boms, had read out a communique shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt recently, saying that the APC was treading the same lane that forced the APC out of reckoning during the 2019 general elections. Boms said, “The party is again threading the route of exclusion and disdain for the rights and feelings of members. This plunged Rivers APC into needless crisis resulting in the party being denied participation in Rivers in the general elections.  “As critical stakeholders, bearing in mind the circumstance of the party in the state, we were not consulted by the NWC in appointing a caretaker committee in Rivers nor does the committee reflect the diversity of the party in the state. “The so-called caretakers are simply cronies of the Minister of Transportation (Rotimi Amaechi). He said, “My principal (Magnus Abe) is not involved in any political romance with Wike. Those peddling such falsehood are Amaechi’s people, who are trying to paint him (Abe) black in the eyes of his supporters. He (Abe) has said it several times and he has issued press released to tell the world that he is not in any political romance with Wike. A strong member of the APC in the state, who is an ally of Amaechi, however, insisted that Abe’s actions denied the APC the opportunity to be part of the Rivers State general election in March. Always be reminded that you have built your company all by yourself and from scratch so you just need to answer your own questions. And it is hard to manage other people and their performance if you are used to managing just your own self.
But feedback makes an effective way to enhance the growth of a team. In fact, even your top employees require constant constructive feedback regarding their performance. What you just need to be reminded of is to be very specific. For example, you are working in a hotel and the managed tells you, “I did not like how you treated that customer.” Hearing what your manager tell you that thing would make you feel that you wanted to improve. But do you know where you exactly went wrong?
Your manager wasn’t precise enough to tell you the exact wrong thing you did to that customer. The manager should have voiced out his opinion this way, “Sam, the next time you tell a customer that every room is accommodated, please see to it that you should have handed them a discount coupon for their next visit and bill. You see, we practice surprising and delighting our customers in this hotel.”
Now, that’s much nicer and better.
If you were Sam, you are now aware of the exact attitude that you need to change in the future. Good feedback is always essential to keep your team grow. And when your workers have done great things, you need to be very specific as well. Do not give feedback when it is constructive.
A few words of feedback can help you a lot especially when it comes to boosting the morale of your employees. If you were the manager of the abovementioned hotel, you might tell Sam, “Your shift for the day is highly appreciated especially during this very hectic and busy season. Your dedication to our team is well appreciated, too.”
Not Empowering Enough
Many business leaders find this thing as something tough for them to learn. Basically, it is a connotation of the belief that one man isn’t capable of running the world when’s he’s alone. So, if you are a businessman or entrepreneur who finds it hard to delegate tasks to your team members then you are not alone. In fact, there are many businessmen who are so protective of their companies, making them think that they are the only ones who can perform tasks correctly.
Unfortunately, this could not be farther from what is known as the truth. If you are not delegating or empowering, you are actually limiting the growth potential of your company. By simply delegating and assigning tasks to your employees, you are simply freeing up your time and attention to focus on your company’s big ideas. On the other hand, doing all the tasks all by yourself makes it impossible for you to think for the improvement of your business.
You need to remember two important things that can make you feel happy and content when it comes to the delegation of work in your company:
Be Specific
Being specific does not necessarily entail giving direct feedback to your employees but giving them the right, proper and specific direction as well. By doing so, the task that you want to get done will be returned to you according to your expectations. You also need to be very specific about your reasons why you have picked that particular person to do the task that you wish to delegate.
You can say it this way, “Hey Mark, I have picked you to do the monthly customer reports for the company because I am sure about how you really care about our clients and customers. I am certain about the trust I am giving you with this job.”
Have Your Goals Connected to Your Tasks
Remember that you cannot just assign tasks without having to look back. Be sure to let your employee know the purpose of the task to the goals of your company. Think that a well-informed worker is a well-engaged employee. See to it that Mark is aware that your monthly reports are important for understanding your accounts’ health and the organization’s overall profitability as well.
You are not Always Available
How can you be able to delegate your tasks effectively when employees find it hard to reach you most of the time? Having a meeting with your employees at least once a month can be a great idea but you need to keep in mind the availability of your presence especially during impromptu questions and urgent or emergency situations. The fact is, you cannot delegate whatever you want without participating or involving yourself at all.

Moreover, you need to make sure that every employee is informed about your company’s rule regarding open door policy. Tell them that your door is always open so that they can come in anytime to relay their ideas and concerns about the growth of the company.
You are Changing Company Rules without Telling Anyone
An ideal company always comes with a worker/employee handbook. This handbook is normally handed out to newly hired employees so that they can get ideas regarding the benefits and other important things about the company. It is also here where you can find policies that have something to do with non-competitive agreements, dismissals, dress codes, etc.
The employee handbook is a very significant document that lets newly hired employees know what they can expect from the company. But if everything found in your company’s employee handbook isn’t implemented and observed then what’s the point of giving it to each of your employees?
If the handbook modifies and describes how your company makes a decision then it should be done and followed how it says. If it says that decision-making has to be one way then it has to be carried out that way and not in a different manner. A disagreeing employee might feel slighted and feeling of distrust would surely kick in.
Businesses often change in their processes all the time so as to handle varying issues. This is normal. But if you are going to give an employee handbook to your worker, be sure to have the contents updated. And if you wish to come up with changes with your company rules, be sure to let each and every person in your company know about these.
When you were hired, you were allowed no to wear your uniform during Fridays. All of a sudden, an alteration about the company’s dress code took place and you weren’t informed about it. After a few weeks, you received a memo and a disciplinary action from your manager simply because you did not wear your uniform on Friday. You might want to think that the decision of your manager was a way outrageous and ridiculous.
Not to mention the embarrassment that you have felt because of your ignorance or unawareness of the changed rule. Is it your fault? No, it isn’t. It’s the company’s fault because it has the responsibility to relay and communicate all changes taking place in the company.
If you fail to communicate changes to your employees then this might make other people think that you are practicing favoritism. Why you were put in trouble for not wearing your uniform on Fridays when your manager allows others to wear anything?
Doing favoritism evidently can create negativity quickly. It can also force employees to resign and leave. As the leader or owner of your own business, you need to be very careful about the ‘playing-favorites’ attitude.
You are not Giving Rewards to Your Company’s Top Performers
You do not want to appear like you are playing the favoritism game especially when one or more of your employees need special attention due to their commendable performances. Yes, giving rewards to top-performing workers is not an act of favoritism. With such rewards, you can show that you are a fair judge or boss who simply recognizes the hard work of every employee in your company.
In a career growth survey, 41 percent of the total respondents said that they would leave their present employers so as to make advancements out of their careers. While there are many good performing employees are motivated by way of career growth, be sure to provide lots of opportunities for the future leaders, allowing them to grow responsibly. Be straight and open about how you emphasize and implement your company’s succession plan as well.
See to it that your company’s top performers realize that one day it is not you who will sit in your office to serve as the company CEO anymore. In reality, the time will come when someone who is as good as you will step inside to do your job. Your top performers can easily get bored if they do not get the constant challenges they want.
Make sure that every team member comes with a development plan (it has to be personal) that allows them to set out new development and growth goals. This plan should be updated yearly during the annual review of the employees. Mistakes are simply inevitable and I can say that I have made plenty of them when I started my business. I remember putting up a business and it really was a big flop. With a small budget in hand, I, along with my con-founder have made it possible to build it to more than a hundred thousand users. Learning the right ways on how to hire and manage good people was the hardest thing I had to learn but in a way, I consider it as the most rewarding.
Many owners of businesses claim that giving an above-standard pay can attract and keep top performing workers. In fact, you don’t need much money to motivate the best people in your company. Be able to learn about handling tough conversations. Take the time to learn to delegate and control your temper as well.
Above all, be able to learn to praise and appreciate every team member’s unique talents, skills and contributions. And, don’t forget to say, ‘thank you’ to them quite often.

My Abortion video...
So I was going to and still want to make a video series called “The compromise” talking about controversial issues and looking at both sides of the argument to come to a centred opinion or viewpoint, but I don't want to do it until I’ve written and filmed a few episodes... but I haven't written one other than an abortion episode so maybe I’ll write a few others then film the series and release it weekly or something I don't know, but basically I want to have the script out there so I don't feel like its wasting away in my notes. So here is my not yet, but hopefully soon to be filmed video on abortion
The Compromise: Abortion Abortion... it's a controversial topic no doubt, and it's likely you already fall into one of two camps - pro-life or pro-choice. But what if maybe, just maybe we shouldn’t divide ourselves into camps, sides and denominations and could come to some sort of mutual understanding, where we take both sides and hold a measured view of a contentious issue.  This is the compromise, and today we're discussing abortion. *intro* firstly lets look at what both sides believe, people on the pro-life side of the argument believe life begins at conception and that terminating a foetus in the womb is akin to murder and that all unborn children have the god-given right to life. people on the pro-choice side believe that a woman’s autonomy over her body overrides her duty to carry out a pregnancy to full-term and if she desires to end the pregnancy that is her right.
Firstly the trickiest component of the abortion debate is the fact that both sides believe “rights” to be their trump card and that they can dismiss the other sides arguments by bringing up the “rights” of the baby or the mother respectively. This doesn’t get us anywhere in the discussion because it shows an inability to acknowledge all sides of the argument. any pregnancy should have the opportunity to come to fruition as should any woman have autonomy over her body, the two aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. but thats a hard concept for some to grasp, that there is no moral absolution on either side; an unplanned pregnancy can negatively effect a woman, and an abortion discriminates against a foetus’ lack of ability to defend themselves.
To make a bit of headway lets have a look at some commonly held beliefs or misbeliefs on either side and see where we can become more centred in our understanding. firstly to debunk some positions on the pro-life side, abortion doesn’t hold any substantial mental or physical health risks for those who decide to get an abortion, it is safer than childbirth by 14 times according to the national institute of health and there is no substantial scientific evidence linking abortion to things like infertility, breast cancer, or depression. regarding the comparison to childbirth, proponents to this fact will say that abortion deaths are underreported but that can be defied by the fact that so too would childbirth deaths be underreported. often times, any mental anguish is felt leading up to an abortion, however women and men can still be mentally affected but more on that later. The majority of abortions happen in the first trimester, and those that occur later are very few with as little as 1.3% happening after 21 weeks, those that do, often occur because of a risk being posed the woman’s life. additionally a foetus doesn’t actually get to the point of neocortical development until a while after the first trimester. that means they can’t feel pain, now yes pain is subjective, but scientifically they haven’t developed the sensory capabilities for pain to be sent up their spinal cord and to their brain, what I’m saying is that as tragic as abortion is, hopefully some solace can come from the fact that it is painless for the baby more often than not.
Now to debunk some pro-choice beliefs. Firstly and this is a large one, while many pro-choice believers use the scenario of a rape or incest victim to justify the morality of abortion, and whilst I’m not diminishing the tragedy of that situation, very few abortions are the result of incest or rape. there are estimates of fewer than 1%, and whilst polls show that overwhelmingly, people support a legal abortion for rape cases even in the third trimester, it just isn’t representative of the reasons people cite for getting abortions. in fact often reasons for abortion are misrepresented by pro-choice advocates, they will say people can’t afford a child, or are forced into abortion through circumstance and while this happens, its not as common as you might think, its estimated to be about 30% of abortions in the U.S, are because of financial strain, rape/incest, or physical problems with the woman or the foetus. The rest are for reasons that aren’t necessarily strenuous circumstances, such as not being ready for a child in terms of maturity or emotional capacity, not wanting to be a single mother, or stuck in a bad relationship, having had too many children and not wanting another, or wanting to focus on education, now I wouldn’t be naive enough to presume these reasons couldn’t overlap with financial strain, but it needs to be acknowledged that these reasons for abortion aren’t necessarilly morally justified.
now with those facts in mind, lets address some further issues both sides fall into. firstly abortion is perpetuated as an inherently religious viewpoint by both sides, however the catholic bible doesn’t actually have a lot to say about abortion. You can do research into this but essentially abortion was around and practised in bible times, and would’ve been a known practise, but the bible doesn’t mention it, maybe it wasn’t so controversial back then. The only parts of the bible that are relevant to abortion are passages that characterise unborn foetus’ as humans or babies, such as john the baptist who “leaped for joy” in the womb, and other similar characterisations. The other reference being to the act of a man inducing a miscarriage in a woman through violence, it says they must pay a fine to the husband. Some pro-choice advocates look at the fact that murder is said to be punishable by death in the same passage to mean that inducing a miscarriage cannot be equated to death as they bear different punishments, its very hard to equate what was written thousands of years ago to a modern context, as well as the fact they are talking about a miscarriage as a consequence of violence, not as a conscious choice by any parties involved. now, its important to look at the most contentious part of the debate which is what constitutes a human life, and taking a human life, and the answer is that its completely subjective, my definition may differ to yours, there are some facts to take into account such as the fact that a heartbeat appears in a foetus at about 3 weeks, at 8 weeks all organs have been formed, at 14-16 weeks the foetus starts to exhibit voluntary movement and can react to external stimuli, I mentioned the cortical development earlier that happens around week 20, and the truth is nobody but you can define what life means, because it has a different meaning to everyone. some people think those who are brain dead are dead and some think coma patients should be kept alive for years because of their right to life. I can't give you clarity on this, it's something each person decides based on their values and beliefs, often times its contingent on whether you believe in the concept of a soul or not. Although for reference, a baby isn't considered able to live outside of the mothers womb until approximately 24 weeks, some specialists claim to be able to keep a baby alive from 23 weeks on and the earliest recorded surviving baby was born at 21 weeks and 6 days.
Moving onto mental health, abortion can have bad effects on both men and women who may feel regret or shame over the decision, thats unavoidable and its a consequence people may have to face, however as earlier stated there isn't much scientific basis that abortion necessarily correlates to mental ill health in the longterm, not on a large scale at least.
Finally we need to look at contraception and safe abortion. Often pro-life advocates will oppose the legalisation of abortion on the grounds that it will enable women to have abortion more frequently or more conveniently, but studies show that there is no correlation to the legality of abortion and the frequency of abortion, in fact the one thing that does show correlation to abortion is the availability of contraception, as well as sex education. More often in developing countries, there are more abortions due to the fact they have very little access or education available for contraception. Additionally the illegality of abortion does seem to correlate to unsafe abortions, which can have a much higher chance of resulting in harm, both physical and mental or even death. And so to surmise there are a range of differing beliefs on abortion, and whilst a few tragic and deserving cases of abortion don't justify abortion morally for the majority, I think it logically justifies legal access. Now before you call me a liberal pro-choice cuck I want it to be clear that I say that only out of the belief that nobody wants women or babies in danger, and if legal abortion doesn't result in more abortion that's good, and if it results in less unsafe abortion that's also good. Polls from Gallup show that many people welcome the legality of abortion in limited situations, but the unfortunate truth is that if you legalise abortion with the limit to rape victims or mental health sufferers then you run the risk of encouraging people to falsely claim they've been raped or have a mental illness, which hurts the credibility of actual rape victims and mental health sufferers. At the end of the day I think this issue is a lot like cigarettes, it’s not necessarily moral, but people who want to do it, will do it, whether it's legal or not. And if it were illegal the way they would do it could be dangerous for them to pursue, imagine if every smoker in the world became involved with a drug dealer, it would be pandemonium, so I think abortion is something that you can have an opinion on from all sides of the argument but that shouldn't deny legal access to, only because a separation of morality and law is important, people who risk national security to expose lies of governments break the law but may be doing a moral good, law is grey and so is morality, ultimately we have to what works best for society and allows safety for all. Thank you. This has been the compromise on abortion. But don’t take my word as gospel, everyone has a different opinion and as centred as I’ve tried to put mine, you may well disagree with me, and if you do, thats fine… discussion is good let me know where I’m wrong and whether or not my presentation of the facts was adequate, thanks a lot and I’ll see you next time.

Suicide
      I am sitting here on a bright sunny day, having absolutely no clue on how to start this touching memorable topic. I am afraid and have been questioning myself for so long, wondering why would one of my loved ones want to give up on this wonderful life, been angry and simply remaining quiet but never having just the right answers. I decided to to pick this topic due to these causes, although I have never spoken about this. It makes it so difficult for me to speak of and rewind my memory to these shocking moment in my life. I do not know what your story is or perhaps what you are currently facing, all I want is for you stop and listen to this and to know you are not alone. The most important thing that people have in their lives is their dreams. Dreams are goals that people may have deep in themselves and will try reach them at any cost. In order to reach their goals, it  is necessary to work very hard. To never give up means to keep trying and never stop. I totally agree with this statement because of three reasons: first, as long as you are alive everything is possible. Second, because you have to learn from your mistakes in order to make succeed. Lastly, because you are stronger than you think. 
To start with, as long as you’re alive everything is possible. There are chances everywhere. If you did not succeed in a specific time and place, you will in your next attempt. If you just give up, you will not see the chances and everything would seem more difficult because you did not develop the skills to succeed Equally important is learning from mistakes; nobody masters something in their first attempt and are prone to fail and make mistakes. Mistakes let you see the areas you need to improve. The only unacceptable failure is to completely give up because you would be rejecting the opportunity to master something, of living better. Finally, even when you seem or feel weak, your spirit strength is huge. It is necessary to prove that you are capable of achieve what you have set out to do; because you deserve to be happy and because if someone else has achieved what you have set out to do, then so can you. There are people in a worse situation struggling to succeed. For example, Chris Gardner, the main character of “Pursuit of Happiness”, was in a very difficult situation with no money and no job but never gave up and soon became a millionaire. To sum up, “never give up” should be the phrase you repeat everyday if you really want to make your dreams come true, because of the three major reasons: first, as long as you are alive everything is possible; second, because to master something is necessary to fail and make mistakes; and finally, because you have strength enough to fight for your dreams. Continue dreaming and never give up! Everyone should be heard and feel supported, we are not alone.
The two questions I decided to analyze were: what causes people to give up? and What effects does suicide have on our loved ones? After weeks of dedicating time to my research, I found many interesting things about suicide. I analyzed and compared different books  as well with popular show Thirteen Reasons and a specific book I read having a strong  connection called Slut to this show. First, what is suicide? many of us ignore this topic and not grabbing any source of attention to it like if it is simply nothing to worried about or to be concerned about.  Let me take the moment and explain to you that May is the month of mental illness awareness. I am sure you did not, but let me tell you more. Through the month of May, the association NAMI and other participants across the country are raising awareness for mental health. Each year, they fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for equal care . Each year the movement grows stronger. Millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition, as 1 in 5 U.S adults will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. However, everyone is affected or impacted by mental illness through friends and family. Furthermore, suicide is the act of purposely ending your own life.  So how does society view and react to suicide? Well after conducting a few interviews, which I will share with you in just a moment. Let's go back to how society views suicide. The view of suicide varies widely according to an individual’s culture and religion.  For example, many western cultures, as well as mainstream Judaism, islam, and Christianity tend to view killing oneself as quite negative. One myth about suicide that may be the result of this view is considering suicide to always be a result of a mental illness. Society also can target suicide as an attempt as if it were a crime more than 800,000 people worldwide committed suicide in the year 2012, with many more suicide attempts annually. That translates into people committing suicide every 40 seconds somewhere in the world. More than 39,000 people reportedly kill themselves each year in the United States, making it the 10th leading cause of death nearly 43,000 die by suicide every year the second leading cause of death are ages 44 and under the fifth leading cause for ages 45-54 years old. The suicide rate among american Indian/ Alaska native adolescents and young adults ages 15-24 is 1.5 times the national average .  Suicide is defined as an intentional, self-inflicted death that occurs in all cultures and usually is executed by people who are suffering from some sort of extreme emotional pain and feel unable to cope with their problems (Shneidman 6). Suicide is seen in our culture to be something that happens to only the crazy or drug-addicted people. But the reality is that normal, everyday people commit suicide as well. Since suicide-ology is a fairly new field of scientific study there is still much to learn about it. Some theories and other scientific information have been discovered and are very interesting. Typical suicide people suffer from fear, anxiety, defeat, and delusional attributes and the end result for them is to give up life.
Now I will share back with you about my process with my research as well interviews. First when I began to research I had double thoughts about actually going along with my topic. It seem impossible how I could focus and remaining strong and not having to feel angry and sad, but I managed step by step as I could. I started watching the popular show Thirteen Reasons and slowly analyzing each part and season I read many negative comments targeting  the show after I finished watching each episode of Thirteen Reasons I compared the show to a book I read it was called Slut. Yea, you might wonder what a harsh name on a book well while reading the book and comparing thirteen reasons in the show Hannah Baker. The main character is a high school student she decided to leave behind thirteen tapes explaining each situation how she felt harmed   and the reasons that caused her to end her life. Why I connected this particular book to thirteen reasons well Hannah Baker’s reputation gets ruined by a guy that changed a whole story of just a kiss. Well in the book it said that two out of five girls in the nationwide 42 percent have had a sexual rumor spread about them according 10 a 1993 poll conducted for the American Association of University women on sexual harassment in schools .  three out of four girls today have received  sexual comments or looks and one in five has had sexual messenger written about her public areas.  Bullying is a prime reason why teenagers begin to think of suicide. It can occur in the classroom. The bullies might resort to verbal bullying to get under their skin. Sometimes, it gets physical and they can suffer from severe injuries. When nobody steps in, it triggers thoughts of suicide as they feel alone and isolated from the rest of the world. Teenage suicide occurs due to a variety of factors. The numbers remain fairly consistent and schools have attempted to roll out a number of schemes to tackle the problem. The main cause of teenage suicide is time. Young people who spend longer with such a chaotic emotional state are far more likely to commit suicide. Time is the main factor. If something begins to bother someone, it starts as a mere irritation. They can put it off for a while, but eventually it begins to take over their lives. Over time, they start to lose the ability to cope. And this is when they start thinking, and attempting, suicide. But certain events in a person’s life can trigger this scenario, and it differs for everybody Parental divorce is another reason why problems begin to occur. When a beloved parent permanently leaves the household, it generates feelings of abandonment. It also destabilizes the family household and removes one of their sanctuaries. Without any emotional outlet, they start to believe the only option is suicide. Teenage suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Teenagers experiencing such thoughts believe there’s no future for them. A lack of a long-term future and no way of being able to imagine a positive future leads to apathy. Apathy eventually transitions to depression, which leads to suicidal thoughts. Friends play a vital role in a young person’s life. Young men and women growing up rarely develop the level of independence needed to confront life alone. Teenagers without friends are far more likely to experience thoughts of suicide than those with a strong support network around them. Someone who isn’t independent needs a support network or they’ll start feeling lonely and abandoned. Not having any friends to lean on offers them the free time they need to indulge in dark thoughts of suicide. All the above troubles can only happen when nobody steps in to help. If nobody lends a hand to help them, there’s the potential for these feelings to turn into actions. The lack of any support mechanisms, such as through school counselling, parents, and friends allow negative feelings to build up over time. Overall, it’s time which causes the most damage, time to let these negative feelings bubble under the surface. When the pressure begins to reach higher levels, teenagers begin to attempt suicide. By stepping in early and eliminating these risk factors, the rate of teen suicide can go down.
My interviews well after explaining my connection to Thirteen Reasons and the famous book sluts know I will share with you the people I interviewed during my process . The first person I interview was focusing on the community her name Is Lanae she is a part time  worker she is twenty two years old Lanae shares with me her thoughts about suicide she says she wishes people wouldn’t  want to end their life when she thinks about suicide necessarily does not  judge she has a brother who is ADSD and tends to have lots of thought’s wanting to determine his life. She wishes there were my sources and more support groups  towards suicide. Lanea wishes to have the answers why his brother wants to end his life and why simply he gets these thoughts.
The second interview I did was Christie Harrington –Tsai M.A  a counselor in mental health first I want start of she has been a great moral support to me and when I shared with her my topic I was planning to do she was shocked and was afraid of my emotions how would I react  she felt very proud of me been able take this step to speak about suicide. She took the time and dedication and we talked about my two questions and gave me extra sources that helped not just myself but each one who is facing any type of situation with a mental illness, we discussed on what was causing specifically the rates that are  increasing  although there is no actual answer determining the situation depression is big factor to suicide as well antidepressants she says they can actually cause you to end in an even darker places than you possibly are already. She discussed fifteen factors that can cause suicide one was of course mental illness as we have discussed  as well in traumatic experience can lead a person to feel helpless another popular factor was bullying especially on young teens as I have discussed as  well unemployment can lead to feeling of isolation. Another one she grabbed  my attention was men in ages 40 years too 45 yes if you are surprised I was to how can men this age fall in this category well its due to men at this age are  married and so focused on maintaining their family that they simply start loosing connection to their surrounding they lose friends and start feel old  and not having the same capability and energy as when they were young can cause them become isolated. Mrs. Harrington took the time to share each and one of these information ad provided me with free resources for family members who have loved ones living with a mental health condition or mental illness as well other suicide prevention  lines to contact  at the end of my blog I will be uploading each and of the sources that I hope be a great sources for you or perhaps someone you now.
    I also thank my professor Guillaume Fournier for taking the time and sharing with me his life story he shared with me deep situations he shared with me during his graduated years a lot of his friends had suicidal thoughts losing hope do too hitting an age where society sees  you where your suppose to  have a family been settled with a home and a set career. He faced a difficult time while completing his masters degree feeling so hopeless and just making it so impossible for him to just finish that last touch he remembers how his dad simply couldn’t believe such thing so one day his father went in his room and started be his coach to guide and bring him up from this hole he believes in form for us to succeed we always need to have a coach a mentor to help us not to  feel alone .   
My last interview I focused on was in religious believes I felt I needed to hear a religious point of view on suicide thanks to Mrs. Perez for helping me and sharing with me her religious believes and as well her ways of seen this particular topic suicide. She starts telling me We have so much courage before God and we are so important to him and he loves us with everlasting love. And gives us the love of God. Given eternal life. God loves them so much that his son died for us. Mrs. Perez shares with me a few bible verses I find very touching. The first one was  John 3:16 “because in such a way I love God the world that He has given His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3: 8 “He who practices sin is the devil. The enemy the end of devil.”  As you can see a religious person believes it is a sin but with complete full faith we can heal with spiritual connected to Jesus Christ.  Going through all my interviews was very interesting seeing different points of views of each one of us on are believes.   
Why do humans kill themselves? Each day people go out into the workplace, school, or some sort of other activity and experience the threat of failure. We all know that life is sometimes enjoyable, usually routine, and almost always difficult. We experience happiness and joy along with contentment and love. Much of our life is also taken up by the routine, everyday, and emotionally neutral actions of life. Then on the flip side there are the negative emotions that we feel like sorrow, shame, humiliation, fear, dread, defeat, and anxiety. When we digest these negative emotions psychological anguish and disturbance can be the result Regrettably, some people live in a state of constant disturbance. This disturbance is sometimes caused by physical pain, but usually psychological pain. Psychological pain is the main contributor of suicide. Psychological pain is not the same as bodily or physical pain. It is how you feel as a person; how you feel in your mind. It refers to how much you hurt as a human being. It is mental suffering; mental torment. Suicide is never the end result of joy or contentment. Pain by its very nature makes us want to stop whatever action we are doing or escape from it. Most of the the time people who kill themselves are very sick with depression or one of the types of depression illness, which occur when the chemicals in persons brain get out of balance or become disrupted in some way. Healthy people do not kill themselves. A person who has depression does not think typically like a person who is feeling good. Their illness prevents them from from been able look forward to anything in life. They don’t realize they are suffering from a treatable illness and they feel  that they can't be helped. Seeking helped may not even enter their mind. They do not think of the people around them family or friends because of their illness . they are consumed with emotional, and many times, physical pain that becomes unbearable. They don’t see any way out. They feel hopeless and helpless. They don’t don’t want die, but it’s the only way they feel their pain will end. It is a non rational choice. Getting depressing is involuntary no one asks for it, just like people don’t ask to get cancer or diabetes. But we don’t know that depression is a treatable illness. That people can feel good again.
After visiting a psychiatric hospital, it was simply incredible the way their patients that got admitted to a psychiatric hospital and do not end up committing suicide end up relieving their own stress as well as their loved ones. Unfortunately, patients and doctors are increasingly seeing hospitalizing defeat in the last report.  So why do people avoid talking about suicide? I believe the main reason people don’t talk about it is because of the stigma surrounding the topic. People who suffer from depression are afraid that others will think they are “crazy” which is untrue. They simply may have depression. Unfortunately, society still hasn’t accepted depression illnesses like they’ve accepted other diseases. A good example is alcoholism – no one ever wanted to talk openly about that and now look at how society views it. It’s a disease that most people feel pretty comfortable discussing with others if it is in their family. They talk of the effect it has had on their lives and different treatment plans. Everyone is educated on the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse prevention. As for suicide, it’s a topic that has a long history of being taboo- something that should just be forgotten and swept under the rug. This is why people keep dying. Suicide is so misunderstood by most people and the myths are permuted. Stigma prevents people from getting help and prevent society from learning more about suicide and depression. If everyone were educated on these subjects, many lives could be saved. So what effects of suicide on family members and loved ones? Suicide is devastating and the effects of suicide on family members and loved ones of the person who has died by suicide can be severe and far- reaching. Those left behind by suicide are often known as suicide survivors and while this is a very difficult position in which to find oneself, it is possible to heal and move forward.  Learning that a loved one has died by suicide can absolutely be traumatic. In addition to all the feelings that anyone would feel about the death of a loved ones, when the death is a suicide, it is absolutely traumatic. In addition to all the feelings that anyone would feel about the death of a loved one, when the death is a suicide, there are additional feelings in  my experience I felt extreme guilt not knowing how to have prevent the situation I felt failure because a person I loved felt unloved and wanted to commit suicide I felt extreme anger and resentment against  my own loved one wanting  to end their life I was confused and felt so lost about the situation .
In conclusion, remember you are not alone and can face and fight anything in life that gets in your way. There is people in our society experiencing the same challenges that perhaps you are facing. People may commit suicide because of a mental illness, depression, and traumatic life experience. Most families will react negatively to suicide such with anger, confusion, guilt, and resentment. What I learned during my process was suicide is a serious topic that we need take in hand by speak up and taking this mental illness to consideration and stop ignoring it. I see now that I am not alone in this world. There are many people facing similar stories as I one day faced. When I first started my research, I was not sure of facing this topic, but now I feel inspired and hope to be a motivation to people facing difficult situation.
