Okay so I finally put the Jom'Gol climate map variables together and combined them into one single- oh... that's how that looks when i combine them... its, kind of ugly ? Not sure if I should come up with a new color-coding system and manually throw them all together... but its so much work (spoiler alert i did this a few weeks ago and just now posting and im still debating it idk what i should do)
Each climate is a combination of Summer temperature, Winter temperature, Summer precipitation, and Winter precipitation (data extracted from other maps I've made). Whelp, let me know if i should keep this map and just make a legend to color code it or if its too ugly and I should figure out a recolor.

Splint (Autobot, memory stick) was a records clerk at the hospital where Cautery (Decepticon, fancy microsurgery system) was a prestigious surgeon, and they eventually became friends. Cautery, who publicly expressed sympathy with Decepticon ideals, eventually ran afoul of the law... After his run-in with the Senate, he faked his death & ran off to do 'Con stuff, leaving Splint to pick up the mess he left behind.
They aren’t friends anymore.
I've got Cautery's full design + altmode drawn out and I plan to post them in a little bit! I haven't done Splint's ref yet, but since he's a Rewind recolor he's basically done already LMAO.
These are kind of old design sketches to figure out proportions and color schemes, & obviously they're not to scale lol. IIRC someone did a bunch of estimations of the heights of various MTMTE characters several years ago and figured out that Rewind is ~10ft tall, so if Splint's the same height then Cautery might be a little over 20ft. I like the idea of Splint being about hip-height next to him.
They've also both got profiles on my Toyhou.se but I haven't finished their bios yet, so I won't link them directly. It feels good to finally work on my TFOCs again, though.

Been a while since I've posted some of my stuff so figured I'd share a new organization system I'm trying out for building/prepping! I also wanted to get some input on how others build.
Workflow is as follows:
Label Baskets
Cut out runners into baskets leaving small nubs (Separate using plastic bags if there are multiple of the same letter (A1/A2))
Prep pieces basket by basket (Nub removal/Sanding seams, re-scribe weak panel lines)
Paint any pieces/runners I want to recolor
(Optional: Gloss top coat painted pieces)
Panel line basket by basket
Assemble
Detail any places I missed
Decals
Final Top coat
I've done one (much smaller) kit this way and I liked the flow of things so trying it out on the Sazabi is gonna be the true test of the method 😁
We shall see if this system works out for me well or if I end up hating it for a bigger kit 😅
Also other people, please share your workflows, I am super curious how others build! There is no 100% right way to do things, and it always helps to get new perspectives. Also this is for any skill/experience level just fyi, you don't have to be an experienced builder to contribute!

I finished Lords of the Fallen and boy was my experience mixed. There's some good in there, but this is one of those rare cases where the bad outweight the good. At least in my opinion. My enjoyment was like a rollercoaster going up and down, and there was even a moment where I considered the game a "flawed gem", much like Dragons Dogma for example. But then I kept playing, and yeah. More below.
Lets get this out of the way: at the very least this new version of Loft is better than the original by miles. The original Loft was so janky and generic that it was a truly forgettable experience. It's honestly not a high par to pass, but the new Loft did it. They made the world so much more intricate and interesting and the Rhogar feel a little more than just generic demons. The setting is fantastic and I found the world truly interesting, plus the atmosphere was on point. The game also visually looks gorgeous thanks to Unreal Engine 5.
The combat was very simple, reminded me of Dark Souls 1 and honestly I've been wanting a more slow paced souls game. The magic system in the game was really cool and there's plenty of variety when it comes to picking your build. I went the pure umbral route and it was fun. I also gotta give this game some props for the ammo system. If you decide to not use any magic or even ranged weapons you can still throw around grenades and bombs. They're not one time use like in the souls game and instead consume an ammo bar. In souls games you don't really feel like using those bombs, especially in bosses because if you die after using 10 bombs they're gone forever.
I found most enemy/boss/armor designs really cool. Like seriously the drip in this game is immaculate. That on top of the ability to recolor your gear makes Loft one of the best souls games when it comes to fashion and making your character look unique.
Boss design in general was fine. Not too difficult, but fun. Once again really reminded me of DS1 where once you figure a boss out they're not that hard. There are a couple stand out bosses in the game, and a couple genuine turds. One boss is a gimmick fight where you fight hordes of enemies and do a bunch of waiting around. And the games final boss is a dumb gimmick as well. Congratulations Loft, you managed to make Demon's Souls' final boss look good. That's a feat and a half!
But that's really where my praise ends. The game is absolutely muddled with the strangest design decisions that I can't wrap my head around. Like when you find new items they don't display what is new and what is old, so every time I found a new sword I had to look through my bag and try to guess what it was. Same with important items. In the midst of hectic encounters you just miss what you get. I once found a key and I had no idea where I got it.
Enemies are everywhere. It's gank city absolutely everywhere you go. Regular enemies, ranged enemies and elite enemies out the ass. Large majority of "bosses" you encounter turn into regular enemies. I can't even begin to describe the level of frustration I felt with the game when they just kept throwing more and more enemies at you all the while making the space between checkpoints longer and longer. Ranged enemies also have a ridiculous aggro range and of course everything does a shit ton of damage.
You can't even deal with the enemies one by one, because for some reason if you hit one enemy all the other enemies in 10 mile radius aggro on you as well so you're always grossly outnumbered. There was a bit in the game where they threw 3 mini bosses at you at once and you couldn't deal with them 1 by 1 because if you hit one of them they all aggro. Not to mention those constantly respawning assholes in umbral. Oh yeah, umbral. It's a neat idea as a mechanic, but got quite dull towards the end of the game. I wish there was more to umbral than a few traversal puzzles and a few side rooms you can explore.
The level design is also so odd. Every level is like a maze that looks the same. I'm usually really good at mapping out games in my mind, but I can't fully do it for this game. The swamp level at the beginning of the game is one good example of having so much shit in it. I honestly don't know if this is a bad thing or not. There are unique and beautiful vistas in the game, but also some really boring and samey ones. Some shortcuts as well didn't feel like they made sense to me. Sometimes I'd open a shortcut to somewher useless, or there was a shortcut back to the lamp behind a corner like I'm not saving any time using this?
The most frustrating thing about Loft is that underneath all the crust, the annoying encounter design and untapped potential is a decent game. I love the setting and atmosphere, the lore, the fashion, some of the bosses. It could have been so much more, but in the end my first playthrough was filled with frustration. No other game has pissed me off quite as much as Loft did. I was so frustrated with the game towards the end that I just kep summoning for bosses because I wanted to be done with it all. In the end Loft is a disappointing experience.

So hey I think I’m finally ready to show that secret project I’ve been hinting at a bit.
...And that would be this Digimon fan game I’ve been working on since...sometime last summer I think?? I was doing basic stuff on and off but for the past few months I’ve been really knuckling down and making a lot of progress on it. It’s technically playable but it’s VERY basic and there’s no real progression yet. Should probably also mention this area is just a test room to make sure new features I add work properly so the layout is kinda shitty lmao.
So what I’ve got so far:
Agumon’s sprites are mostly all done and just require some additional tweaking and some more “optional” sprites that aren’t necessary but they’d be nice to have. Since I can make a recolor pretty easily I’ve made BlackAgumon and SnowAgumon/YukiAgumon sprites so technically they’re done for now as well. Gabumon’s idle animation is in but that’s all I’ve progressed on and it was just so the test NPC had an nice sprite to use.
The player character is customizable! But it is suuuuuuper basic because I have to draw all the different clothes for the three different body types I’ve put in and it’s a huge pain in the ass, but I guess it’s worth it because you can see I made MEEEEE :) Not a whole lot of options yet but new clothing types aren’t a priority right now.
The player can swap control to their Digimon partner in order to attack enemies, and the player is able to speak to NPCs and interact with shops once I get those implemented.
Got a basic inventory system working and the rocks you see are breakable and can drop items, and the enemies can drop items once defeated. The items themselves don’t do anything yet though.
Got basic stats for the Digimon partners like attack, defense, HP, SP (which is what special attacks will use), as well as element and attribute so attacks will do more or less damage depending on both of those.
Speaking of attacks, I’ve got Agumon’s attacks implemented and working. Each Digimon will have a “basic” attack that doesn’t use SP and two Special attacks that will.
I’ve also got the ability to get other partners implemented and the player can have two other Digimon in their party that they can swap their current partner with.
I...kinda have Digivolving working. Right now it just makes whatever Digimon you have turn into Greymon who does basically the same things as Agumon but is stronger. Digivolving uses the player’s Power and drains it while they’re Digivolved and will devolve once the player runs out of power.
And finally I got some very basic enemy AI in the game. I’m still figuring out how the controls feel so I’m waiting until I’m happy with that before I make more complex enemies like minibosses and that sort of thing.
Things I still need to work on:
I mean obviously the rest of the game like the actual areas you’ll go to and all the actual enemies and NPCs and all that stuff. It’s literally just test rooms right now.
Gotta finish getting Digivolving to work how I want it to.
Being able to equip different things to your Digimon and yourself
Shops/other NPCs
Implementing items that actually do things
Haven’t come up with a name yet actually I’ll probably call it something basic and dumb like Digimon Quest or something
A BILLION MORE DIGIMON SPRITES OH GOD
??? Probably a whole bunch of other stuff I can’t think of right now.
I’ll have little progress updates as I get new features in and working but it usually takes a while to do so don’t expect anything big right away haha. Plus I’ve got a few other things I need to be working on besides this game so even though it’s currently a priority that doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way.

SUPERVILLAIN PLOT GENERATOR
With this latest release I finish my trilogy of superhero rpg tools. The Supervillain Plot Generator is a table of eighty items each for five categories. It’s useful for all kinds of superhero games: Mutants & Masterminds, Marvel, Wild Talents, Masks: A New Generation, etc.. You can combine this with the Supers City Events and Superhero B-Plot releases. Rather than dump the text of this into the blog post, here’s a link to a pdf of the table.
On itch.io you can pick up a Print & Play version of the Plot Generator as cards. It’s also up on Drivethru and once I get a proof copy, I’ll have a physical deck you can purchase via Drivethrucards. I’ve got those for most of the decks so far and there’s a real, tactile pleasure to having them. As before: the text of this is released under CC 4.0 Share Alike Attribution. It is not AI generated nor to be used with any kind of generative AI.
What does the plot generator have?
Plot: What operation is the villain carrying out? (Switch Bodies, Raid Alternate Worlds, Capture Hero). This is the “crime” the villain (or villain group) is carrying out. It might be a starting point, an ongoing plan, or something they’re building towards. I’ve tried to offer a mix of these, but also leave them open enough that the GM can take them in different directions.
Goal: Why is the villain doing this? (Dissolve Trust in Something, Gain New Powers, Attack and Dethrone God). This is optional, but combining this with the plot can create interesting new directions. It potentially gives you a new take on the villain’s motivation and sets up future events if the PCs thwart this operation. I like the context this gives and the 6,400 possible combinations means you can generate some wild stories.
Low-Stakes Location: Incidental places for investigation, encounters, or preliminary skirmishes. (Gymnasium, Waterway Runoff, Megacorp Distribution Center). I wanted a quick list of distinct places I can have pop up during the game– not for the climax, but during the figuring-out phase. I’m working to not always fall back my go-to’s like diner, warehouse, and nightclub locations.
High-Stakes Location: Key sites for operational targets, hidden bases, and final battles. (Private Military Contractor, Bio-Weapon Lab, High-Speed Train). Here I wanted places which would be interesting for staging a fight. They can be high-stakes for many reasons: security, inherent danger, threats to bystanders, expensive items. Many are unique and distinctive, helping complete the story created by the combination of plot and goal.
Complications: Twists, turns, and swerves which may impact the heroes and/or villain. (Turncoat Hero Involved, Family Ties Revealed, Need the Help of a Foe). This is another one that can recolor and recontextualize the villainous operation. I’ve written many of these so they can be seen either from the PoV of the PCs or their enemy. Like Need the Help of a Foe reads very different if the villain’s looking for aid versus the PCs trying to take the mastermind down.
MY SUPERS PREP
I have a big collection of supervillain sourcebooks. They come from Champions, Silver Age Sentinels, ICONS, various M&M editions, and beyond. And while I appreciate all the backstory and background provided with each of these I often ignore or skim these for highlights at the most. I want a cool concepts, set of powers, and image. I then slot these into my plots. It’s best if they’re from the system I’m running so I don’t have to build a new template.
I don’t know if that’s how other GMs do it. But I got used to reading through villain books and finding the character stories steeped in the concepts of a particular setting. I’d have to tweak elements and/or integrate those bits into my game. Sometimes that brought new, cool things, but sometimes it over complicated it when I tried to port-in wholesale new big plots, metastories, and organizations. So I started skipping that.
My goal with this is: find a cool villain or set of villains, generate the elements above, and figure out their backstory from there.
THOUGHTS ON GM TOOLS
The idea of having goals & complications is inspired by several different Blades in the Dark heist decks and The Game Master’s Handbook for Proactive Roleplaying. I can imagine maybe doing a Fantasy version of this, but I think a Cyberpunk or Modern Urban Fantasy might be more difficult– the specifics of those settings could get in the way.
Why cards? I love the tactility if we’re face to face: at home or at a con. I take picture cards, cards with entanglements, cards with names. The Faction Builder and City Builder toolkits offer a distinct use case from the other tools. They can generate ideas on the fly, but they’re more often session zero collaborative resources. I love being able to deal out cards or put them in the middle of the table for folks to work through. They can always come up with something else, but don’t underestimate the power of gently modeling something for your group.
So why do all these other tools and why do them as cards? For this I have to talk about my GMing hang ups– more style than philosophy. I like random tables. I especially appreciate those created by Kevin Crawford for his stuff. But I also dig all the various tables and tools used in lots of different OSR games. I pulled a couple of Diogo Noguiera’s small, stand-alone games off the shelf to look at. I love the weirdness of A Thousand Thousand Islands, and Augmented Reality is my go-to for any urban, cyberpunk, or sci-fi game.
But I find myself mostly using those in one of two ways. On the one hand I explore them to build some bits pre-session. So I create an eldritch conspiracy in Silent Legions or generate a court with Godbound’s tools. They give a skeleton framework– and I’d say about a third to half of the time I end up using them. On the other hand, I also read through these tables to prime the pump. They inspire my descriptions and details. In particular I skim through Augmented Reality before a session and note down sensory details and setting elements.
But I don’t like to use tables when I’m actually at the table. I appreciate GMs who can do that smoothly and quickly. Two great OSR GMs I’ve played with, Anya and Horst Wurst, do that with a natural skill– making it a point to draw players into the random nature of it. There’s an invitation to appreciate how the dice change the direction of things. There’s also an element of Apocalypse World’s disclaiming responsibility there.
But I don’t like switching and flipping through tables myself. My mental process when I’m running has a tight set of sockets. My attention’s on the players, the character keeper (if online), a rules ref page (if necessary), my notes (mostly what I’m writing down but sometimes small lists I’ve created beforehand), and the time. More trad games like 13th Age and Mutants & Masterminds add foe record sheets. It always takes me a while to integrate those into my process. That’s about my limit.
Which means I don’t like pulling out a book or extra print-out pages. Even pulling up a pdf feels wonky to me. And I stress: to me. I bet most GMs actually have a handle on managing this. I love collections of rumor tables and happenings, but I don’t want to stop, grab a book, and have to do a look up. My space is chaotic enough as it is.
But cards, oh cards. I love them. They take up less space. I can stack them in boxes. I can quickly draw and glance at them for ideas and inspiration. I can easily hide that I’m doing that if I’m feeling particularly anxious. But I can also fuck around with them to deal with my general nervousness and constant low-level panic when I’m running.
They’re TTRPG fidget spinners, with added utility.
So that’s why I’ve made all of these tools– they’re a thing I wanted and I hope they’re useful to other GMs.
Again, you can check all of these out on Itch or Drivethru.

It's different things but the big ones are "people already have the mods installed, and if I change things they will have to redesign parts of their base" and "if I add compatibility some mods but not others that do substantially (or superficially) similar things, it looks like favoritism, hypocrisy, or laziness."
Here's the concrete example that spawned this: I kept wanting to add the late-midgame components from my mod to other mods' advanced mining drills. This wasn't too difficult for the big mods I was already supporting. However I noticed that BZ mods, which my mods are kind of patterned on (I go for a slightly different vibe but "BZ and planetfall mods" is an obvious category) and with which I try to maintain universal compatibility, made these recipes kind of bloated: advanced drills need diamonds and tungsten carbide, and the more ingredient types a recipe takes the harder it is to route all of them into a machine producing it, leading players to either handcraft the recipe in the game about not having to handcraft recipes, or just obsessively pursue making a bot mall, which is sort of a joyless construction in my mind and undoes much of the point of having mods complexify basic production chains but I am clearly in the minority with this opinion. So while I really wanted to add items to these recipes, they could not comfortably fit them.
So, my solution was to simply smush them all into one item.
I then, foolishly, thought to myself: "I should go through every mining drill mod that gets diamonds and tungsten carbide added to its recipes. While I'm at it I can do my usual messing-up-the-recipes-with-my-own-parts, safe in the knowledge that I won't bloat them with the wrong combination of BZ mods."
The trouble is that a) my system of parts just Does Not Work with mods that just add five tiers of better mining drills to the end of the game. It's hard to explain because yes I could just add the items to the recipe, there's no technical reason preventing it, but the intangible thingamabob-utopia vibe is off and the intangible thingamabob-utopia vibe is all my mods have going for them. and b) I fundamentally Do Not Respect mods that just add many tiers of recolored faster machines but no interesting gameplay. If you replace every entity in your base with one that is twice as fast, your production numbers are twice as high but in another sense you haven't done anything, you haven't designed anything, you have missed the point of the game. These are often unlocked after or close to the point that the game formally ends, so they are not an upgrade on the path through the game, they are an upgrade to the "let's see how big I can build, as a challenge" optional stage that just ups the numbers (but also, if we're being honest with ourselves, also ups the target for those numbers before they're impressive, so it net adds nothing.)
The issue is that because BZ mods is aiming for a different vibe, and are not prissy about the things I am prissy about, and aren't generally bothering with machine parts so much as materials, they can just blithely add 5 tungsten carbide to every superfluous drill tier, shrug and say that's all the support that's necessary, and call it a day without compromising what makes BZ mods worthwhile. In order for me to support these mods I will have to look at their recipes in detail, ascertain their Vibe, figure out how they work with all 8 (count 'em) possible loadouts of my mods (there are two, variants hard-easy-off * hard-easy-off, I don't need to think about off-off), which are more complex to handle than the fractally more loadouts of BZ mods because there are so many more core intermediates, except not core because they're behind a setting called "experimental" that I have vaguely pinky promised I will eventually finalize and rename to "hard mode" but now most of the content of the mod is in "hard mode" and it would be more accurate to rename it to "disable easy mode," and then I would have to more redesign than tweak 30 different recipes for the same 5 recolored mining drills I don't respect. All this to avoid the conspicuous absence of replacing tungsten carbide and diamonds in mining drills on the Replacing Tungsten Carbide And Diamonds In Mining Drills component.
(What's that, I did a tangent midsentence? The problems can't be listed linearly without sounding like a litany of disconnected excuses because they branch off in the middle of each other? Curious! Sounds like I'm trying to hide the disconnectedness of my excuses for laziness and prissiness!)
Then consider that once I fully add compatibility with these recolor-tier mods that I don't respect, they are often parts of a series of recolor-tier mods I don't respect, and then I will have to do (nontechnical, they will still load together, but vibic) integration with 50 more recolor-tier mods I don't respect, some of which mess with the precise way vanilla tiers work, with possible settings that mess with the way they mess with the way vanilla tiers work, which is extra bits of combinatorial hell on top of my 8 (count 'em) loadouts and partial overhaul support, and I will have to do this because if I add industrial drill heads to every recolor-tier drill mod BZ mods touch in order to not look prissier, lazier and arroganter than BZ mods, the conspicuous absence will move to "why did you support hiladdar's mining drills but not hiladdars belts or assemblers" and on top of that every player and their cat is building their factory on the pattern of the main bus or bot hive which is a fully general and visually, structurally and mechanically boring (and optimal! post about how you like spaghetti and Spike and Internalized-Spike will murder you to death) solution to the fundamentally spaghetti problems I want to pose so what is the point
but on the seventeenth hand, I do really want to add complex joints to the AAI area mining drill, which I do respect because of the vibe and context of it as a part of space exploration, but I can't formalize and defend vibe against shape rotators among whom I am undoubtedly some kind of sinister interloper.
i need to make some kind of policy for like. adding my intermediates to machine recipes in tier-porn mods. i.e. do i do it in a very formulaic way. do i try to catch the vibe of every mod's recipes and emulate it. do i just fucking refuse.
there are so many of these things.
it's frustrating because even thinking about it gives me the badfeel, the what is the point of this, the i don't belong here because clearly the thing i am getting from the game is not the thing everyone else is getting, the i shouldn't listen to music because everyone is valuing these insane things i don't understand and i just need it to sound nice and not insult me and i'm stupid and shouldn't be allowed opinions. there are things in the game that could use a higher tier, but at a certain number of recolored assemblers with a higher number you have to ask what you're doing.
#for all i keep saying vibe probably it's the wrong word lmao#my mods aren't anything special and in fact are rather bad#i just have hangups and am insane and should be put down

Rancis: Vanellope's clothes
Candlehead: Gloyd's clothes
Gloyd: Jubileena's clothes
Crumbelina: Minty's clothes

Adorabeezle: Crumbelina's clothes
Nougetsia: Sticky's clothes
Jubileena: Candlehead's clothes
Citrusella: Taffyta's clothes
Please don't kill me, I'll fix it, okay!? >_<
This is long as hell
Vanellope: Oh god. Well imma see rancis.
Meanwhile:
Vanellope: Sup.
Rancis: AH! Princes- I mean vanellope please don’t kill me….
Vanellope: Huh? Now why would I want to do that?
Rancis: Cuz I’m wearing your clothes…
Vanellope: Why are you scared all of a sudden? Is it because Ralph would kill you if he’s sees you, I mean I can understand where you’re coming from and how your thinking but with me why would I want to kill you unless you did something very bad.
Rancis: Yeah, ok well what about the rest?
Vanellope: the rest?
Rancis: I mean there might’ve been a glitch in the system and this caused us to switch our clothes. Is there a possibility that everyone’s clothes got swapped?
Vanellope: Well if you put it like that I can see where this is heading. I wonder what rest of them are doing right now.
Rancis: Shouldn’t we at least stop and fix this?
Vanellope: Shh lemme think.
Rancis gives a annoyed face and decides to hold vanellopes hand and continue to search for the others, while that was happening taffyta had a little problem.
Taffyta: GET THIS OFF NOW SAKURA!!!
Sakura: Excuse me queen! I don’t like the attitude you’re using on me right now whether you shut up or I will not untie this!
Vanellope: Oh what’s happening here?
Adorabeezle: For some reason we’re wearing the wrong clothes, because of that taffyta made a hissy fit and now Sakura is trying to take off the Kinomoto off of taff because she says it’s too tight.
Vanellope: HAHA! Oh I’m gonna record this oh wait someone is. Yo swizz AirDrop it to me once your done recording!
Swizzle: Got ya dude.
Rancis: Shouldn’t we at least look for the others?
Vanellope: All right fine I just really wanna see taffyta suffering right now.
Taffyta: NOT HELPING!!
Later:
Vanellope: Oh hey it’s Gloyd and the girls, how you doing? And did you figure out what’s happening?
Gloyd: The girls kept laughing at me for almost an hour and I want you to fix this now. Or I’ll go on a sugar crash!
Swizzle noticed this and decided to take his opportunity and take a photo of this while that was happening The girls continue to chuckle until Vanellope told the girls to stop, and continue searching for the others. Let’s check on the recolors.
Vanellope: Hey girls!
The recolors: Hi vanellope!
Vanellope: Finally there’s the rest of you we were looking all over, now I’m gonna go to the coding room and change the password because someone might’ve made this whole thing on purpose.
Swizzle: I swear it wasn’t me.
Gloyd in a mad tone: I’m a prankster but I’m not willing to make myself look like a joke.
Vanellope: Then who did?
Rancis: Well I don’t know but whoever did it will slide for now.
Vanellope: For the time being just switch your clothes back the way it was which means giving every piece of clothing back to the original owner, while I’m going to change the password from the coding room.
Rancis: Alright before you do remember to give me back my clothes.
Vanellope: Ok just remind me, then again I really wanna keep this.
Rancis: You know what keep it. I knew you would wanna wear it since I do have the most comfortable fabric material to wear.
(Note: My head hurts so bad and this took so long because I had to take my dog to the hospital but he’s better now and I’m feeling better now.)

2021 Simblr Goals
I was tagged by @mystic-hysteria and @trotylka, thank you guys xx Before going to actual goals, I would like to make a small summary of this year, because, well, it was pretty cool in terms of my simblr! Firstly - I started it. :D Secondly, I learnt how to create wallpapers, then I learnt how to do painting recolors, as well as object recolors. I managed to finish 50 sims 50 days challenge (I’m not that proud of these Sims anymore, I feel I would make them way nicer now, but it was a great start of simblr journey). I participated in making Downtownie Pool with @mikexx2 and @katatty, I made MM Hair Systems Comparison, that I’m pretty proud of. I learnt retexturing hairs too, as well as recoloring clothes, to finish off with learning some simple Milkshape stuff, like shoeswaps. Well, in 2021 I would like to: 1. Finally finish some accessories converted from Sims 4 I’ve been strugling for quite some time to do it successfully, mainly because I want them to be for teens as well and I can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong that they don’t work XD Obviously I wanted to make them before the end of 2020, but oh well, I guess it’s my #1 goal for 2021 (or more like #1 goal for January 2021) 2. Organize my Tumblr page and theme 3. Start a BaCC I don’t know, it seems so fun to me, especially since I “binge-read” @deedee-sims Griffinmere BaCC a couple of times in 2020 XD 4. Learn/practice frankenmeshing Not that many goals, but that’s just because I’m going to have ~ half year hiatus, starting end of January, ending beginning of July. I got a job, which will be very time consuming (minimum 12 hours a day, 5 days of the week). Because of it I’m going to have to move to another city, and since I play on my computer, not on my laptop (and I’m not bringing my chunky old computer with me haha), I will be out of Sims stuff for half of 2021 :P I mean, I still will be on Tumblr, looking around stuff that others post, but I won’t be uploading anything:) That makes goal #1 a priority to me for January, I hope I’ll be able to figure it out :D Anyway, thank you all for following me, all kind words and all support. I met some great people in here and it just feels great to be part of this community. Love you all! xx edit: I forgot to tag some people, it seems as most of you all already made yours, so I’ll keep my list short. I’m tagging: @rudhira, @falkii, @keoni-chan, @suratan-zir, but feel free to ignore of course xx

Insert interesting title here...
Where do I start? As I said before: The past months have been a RL-mess. Things have calmed down (finally)...! And I have been purging my downloads-folder again. Not that I had too much stuff in the first place (I shrank it from 8.56 GB to 7.31 GB.) But I learned some stuff about recolors and texture making and such (Sadly I’m still a noob. >_<) and now I also have an unending list of stuff I want to make for myself or possibly share. I don’t know, if that’s a good thing or not, because while making those things, I feel the lingering pressure to share the stuff I make. (I know, it’s ridiculous!) I’d say, if you see something in my pics, you want to have as well, send me a PM. Though this doesn’t apply to lots. I have hidden most objects in my buy-catalog, so they are only accessible in collections or show up in a catalog-category, which makes sense in my folder-system. I also merged the majority of recolors. (And you should do this as well. The loading time benefits greatly. It’s now about 3 minutes, it have been 5-ish before.) I still have some minor things, I want to do with my bodyshop-cc, mainly sorting hairs, so all similar ones show up next to each other. (Braids, hats, long, short, etc.) I also reset my neighborhood Twinhills. What does that mean? I’m a file-horder and luckily I had some really old back-ups of twinhills on my external hard drive. I had played through the first year of twinhills and it had been a mess, I tell ya...!
The sickness-mod I use killed way too many sims and keeping the “economy” runnig was a hassle. Also I had some stuff to fix, because sims are sims and never ever do, what they’re supposed to do. E.g. Ottilie Faulkner and Eigil Gamberg were fooling around (risky sneak-out), which resulted in a teen-pregnancy.
This destroyed the last bit of good relationship, Ottilie had with her father. And after locking her up in her room (with a prisoner token), she had a miscarriage @_@
But now nothing of this happend. The only version of Twinhills, which took place before winter, set family Faulkner back to the very beginning. That means, the posts I made about them so far are obsolete. (I will marked them with the tag “twinhills reset”.) I was unable to load their house and at the time, I thought, the back-up was somehow borked, so I moved them out and built a new home. (Which looks much better, me thinks.)
I was in a building mood, so I added a lot of houses to Twinhills and had some ideas for the future of my challenge. Don’t be confused, I will introduce lots, when I unlock them ;) After the building phase, I felt a great urge to return to my sims. But then... it returned....! DUN DUN DUUUUN
Purple Flashing....! A sims 2 players worst nightmare...!! It had been fine before and I also reduced my DL-folder, so I was utterly surprised by this... (My actual reaction, was probably more like: “NOOOOO! I THOUGHT I FIXED IT!!!1!”) After some head-scratching, because I had no clue, why it was happening again, I lowered the graphic settings. I hoped it would make it work again, but to no avail. After some crashes I decided to tackle the issue again and it turns out the fix was quite easy. (The settings of the TS-bin-folder were reset, maybe because of an windows-update(?) and I had to give full access again. If this is gibberish and you want to get rid of purple soup follow these instructions.) It came back yesterday after playing for.... 7 hours? Yeah, it was a long session. :D I had the day off and was damn excited to play again! But the graphic-issue was probably the reason, why the Faulkner’s home was crashing my game.
I was also unsure, how my own gameplay-rules were supposed to work. And figuring that out, while I was playing, wasn’t the best idea. :p I have re-written the rules of the MCC/BaCC to match my game and I'm actually relieved, because for now I really rarely have to figure things out on the go.
I hope, I will be more active in the future. :)

Droid Appreciation Day
Part of a one shot series involving Echo, Cryptor, and my OC LINK that I’m choosing to call At The Front Desk. This one is about everyone’s feelings on Zane. Also, side note, it dawned on me as I was writing this that we should totally do a Droid Appreciation Day as a fandom. Like... how have we not done this yet? Possible pitch post coming later. Anyway, happy reading!
~700 words
As they walked in Echo’s eyes went wide at the glow emanating from the building. One part in particular.
“LINK, you look… heavenly.” He sighed, finally landing on the right word. LINK smiled, giggling a bit.
Cryptor squinted, as he approached the desk. “Yeah, what’s with all the bright lights?”
“Colored lights in the building have been shifted to white to join the city in celebrating Droid Appreciation Day! Including myself,” LINK smiled at Echo, obviously entranced by her new glow.
“Droid Appreciation Day…” Cryptor glanced around the room. “Weird that us droids didn’t hear about it.”
“That’s so cool!” Echo beamed, his eyes still stuck on LINK. “I didn’t know you could change your glow like that…” He leaned on the desk, looking closer at her.. “You ever change it just for fun?”
“My system preset is the Borg industry standard teal. I have no reason to switch from the preset unless instructed to do so,” LINK informed him.
“So, you’ve never just woken up and been like ‘today feels like a green day!’ and just… went with it?”
“Not unless instructed to do so.” LINK shook her head.
“So, why white?” Cryptor broke their conversation.
“White is the color of Droid Appreciation Day in honor of Zane Julien, the white ninja, and first major public droid figure,” LINK explained, breaking into her prepared speech. “He’s protected the city on multiple occasions, and has been a vocal advocate for-”
“Yeah, we know who Zane is,” Cryptor sighed.
“Good for him! Getting this whole holiday to recognize him. That’s a pretty big deal.” Echo finally took the chance to glance around the rest of the room to see the changes around the building.
“Why’s it got to be Zane though?” Cryptor groaned. “He’s such a heroic stereotype.”
“Zane’s a martyr!” Echo sent him a stern look.
“Zane’s still alive,” Cryptor rolled his eyes. “I just don’t think he’s very representative of most droids. I mean, what about purple, for Pixal? First female droid to make a name for herself, also protects the city, did it all without powers. Or maybe teal, for Borg, the manufacturer of most of the city’s droids. Or hell, red, for the recovering nindroids that make up the majority of the droid population! Why Zane? Why the one droid made by some guy who lived out in the middle of the woods!” Cryptor glanced over at Echo. “One of two droids made by some guy who lived out in the middle of the woods.”
“Technically, I was made when he lived out in the middle of the ocean, so… you had it right the first time.” Echo corrected.
“Point is,” Cryptor waved him off. “He lived in the middle of nowhere his whole life, built two droids and then died.”
“Technically he died once before-”
“Would you just let me have this?”
“With all due respect,” LINK began. “Droid Appreciation Day was put in place mainly to rekindle the public’s trust in technology. Something dismantled by events largely caused by... you.”
Everyone’s head sunk a bit, Echo tapping his fingers on the desk.
“...She’s got a point-”
“Yeah, I get it,” Cryptor groaned. “And Zane’s the one who froze me and my scary looking buddies. It’s a good PR move.”
“If you think about it, Zane’s responsible for most of the droid designs you see today. I’m based off his blueprints, you’re based off his blueprints, along with the entire Nindroid army. It’s kind of a no-brainer choice, even taking out his status as protector of the city.” Echo reasoned.
“Can we just get an elevator already?” Cryptor looked to LINK.
“Of course,” She smiled, turning to her computer.
“I wouldn’t get too worked up about it,” Echo pat Cryptor on the shoulder. “I mean, it’s not like the holiday is for Zane. It’s to bring awareness to all droids! He just inspired the color choice, right?”
“Heavily so.” LINK agreed. “Zane will be giving a speech outside the building later this afternoon to accept some sort of award from the city. I’m informed it should have a larger turnout than originally anticipated.”
Cryptor glanced over at Echo with a smirk.
“But it’s not about Zane, huh?”
Quick little recolor of LINK below the cut :)
The skyscrapers glow like they’ll never fall down
But in this Handmade Heaven, it’s paradise

78. Sonic the Hedgehog #50/Sonic Super Special #6 - Director’s Cut
Previous / Table of Contents / Next
Endgame Part 4 of 4 (For Whom the Bell Tolls!)
Writers: Ken Penders, Michael Gallagher, Karl Bollers, and Kent Taylor Pencils: Patrick Spaziante, Manny Galan, Nelson Ortega, Sam Maxwell, Dave Manak, Ken Penders, and Art Mawhinney Colors: Karl Bollers
Oh, yeah! I told you this was a landmark issue! Not only was it the big 5-0, but this issue was in fact rewritten and touched up some time later by Penders himself, into a "Director's Cut" printed in one of the series' Super Special issues! Hence why two issues are listed in this slot, and two covers shown. They got absolutely everyone on board for this one, because remember, they were uncertain if this would be the comic's final issue, so makes sense to go out with a bang, right? I consider the revised version to be "true" canon, since it fixes some issues to align with later continuity as well as expanding on some things that were poorly explained in the original, but for the sake of the analysis I decided to read both side by side and comment on the differences. Some changes are simply minor dialogue alterations and recoloring of certain panels, while others are massive additions and rewrites of entire sections. Let's do it to it!
The original's intro page is once again a recap of previous events, while the Director's Cut contains an opening statement from Penders expressing his excitement to be able to go back and perfect the original story. Say what you will, but I agree, the revision is far better, and I have to give him credit and recognize that yeah, him getting to do something like this for one of his stories really is a treat, both for the writer and for any fans reading it.
We open with a flashback. Julian (referred to as "son of Ivo" in the original and "of the house of Ivo" in the Director's Cut) is running through a swampy landscape, attempting to escape his pursuers, an indistinct bunch of shadows firing lasers at him. He falls into water and passes out, with his pursuers losing track of him… and two spiny figures find him facedown in the mud.
That’s right, Sonic's uncle and father were the ones originally responsible for finding ol' Julian and bringing him back to the king. Jules' kind heart wins out over Charles' more suspicious tendencies, noting that "his kind" - Overlanders, as he calls them - have apparently done some pretty awful things in the past. Well this is all very interesting stuff, isn't it? After all, the comics never went into Robotnik and Snively's species before now. The entire planet has always been shown to be populated with anthropomorphic animals, and yet these two random humans stick out like a sore thumb. Guess we're finally getting some information on how exactly that came to be.
The king gives Julian shelter after Julian reveals how much he knows about his own people, and thus quickly finds himself appointed King Acorn's warlord, commanding his troops in a battle against the Overlanders. How fascinating! Apparently the kingdom, shortly before Julian's coup, was locked in a different war, the Great War (which I think has been mentioned once or twice before now but never elaborated on), which is how Julian rose to power so quickly.
Anyway, all of this turns out to be a dream that Robotnik is experiencing while he sleeps in some kind of weird upright pod. I guess he's just too crazy for normal beds. In the original, swatbots merely wake him up to go about his day, but the Director's Cut elaborates on what exactly his morning entails. Apparently, the swatbots have captured an Overlander for him, and the poor victim's awaiting some "tests."
So wherever these Overlanders are residing (considering we've only ever seen Mobians so far), they knew Julian, but believed him to be dead, and they're familiar with the terrifying figure of "Robotnik." Robotnik is merely mildly amused at the Overlander's confusion and terror, and tests some kind of beam on him, causing him to disintegrate and disappear… oh, boy.
Back on the Floating Island, things begin to break into a fight again, only for Dulcy to get fed up and break things up.
Oh, so now not only can dragons sense truth, but they can't even lie themselves? Again with the eleventh hour superpowers, Kenders! With Dulcy's testimony, Geoffrey is finally convinced of Sonic's innocence, having really no choice, and together they make haste back to Knothole, where the situation has gotten dire. Everyone has been rounded up by swatbots and are being shuffled along to be roboticized. Tails and Rotor make an attempt to sneak away, but no dice with Drago overseeing operations.
In the original, we get a quick cutaway for one page where Crocbot is called by Robotnik and reports that he's dealing with a sudden prison uprising, but the Director's Cut gives us a lot more detail. Somehow, Bunnie and Antoine have gotten free of their collars and detonated Antoine's from a safe distance, making their guard think they've all been obliterated. (How this all went down is actually explained in a future issue - none of these escape from Downunda sequences were included in the original, so a later issue actually went out of its way to explain the whole thing. As a result, even though some detail is revealed here in the Director's Cut about the escape, there are still some blanks waiting to be filled in further on.) The freed prisoners soon find the other three members of the Downunda Freedom Fighters, and they head to the loading docks where Crocbot is overseeing the transport of the ore to Robotropolis. The Downunda Freedom Fighters cause a distraction, ready to get some much-needed payback on Crocbot, while Bunnie and Antoine make their way onto one of the shipping airbuses headed back to their own continent.
Meanwhile, Sonic, Knuckles, and Geoffrey and all his troops have arrived at Knothole, and well, cheers love, the cavalry's here!
While Drago attempts to make his getaway, the Director's Cut cuts away for one page to show Bunnie and Antoine stumbling upon a very interesting video log on board their airbus, in which Robotnik happily rambles on about his new "Ultimate Annihilator, " with which he intends to erase Knothole from existence entirely, followed by conquering the rest of the world unopposed.
Sonic pursues Drago, and in the original, he's knocked out not very far from the commotion by a rock thrown by an angry Hershey. However, the Director's Cut goes a little further. She lures him in by flirting, telling him that "What girl wouldn't want a winner…"
She basically straight up attempts to murder his ass in a screaming rage, which honestly, I don't blame her for one bit. She does indeed end up knocking him out with the rock, at which point Sonic arrives to observe the scene. She sobs and reveals her part in Sally's supposed death, to which Sonic merely replies that she shouldn't blame herself, because "we were all duped." While by now Bunnie and Antoine have arrived on scene (and thus so has the ore Robotnik needs to complete his Ultimate Annihilator), Sonic races toward his final destination - Robotnik himself.
He barely even stops to kick Snively out of his way, with Snively apparently quite determined to stop him from reaching his destination. Hey, what's up Snively? Didn't you want your uncle's plans to fail?
From here, I'll basically just be using the Director's Cut, since the ending sequence was so drastically changed for the better that the original isn't even worth our time. Sonic runs into Antoine and Bunnie in the halls, where they inform him of their plan to attempt to detonate Robotnik's weapon before it can fire. Sonic races to buy them time, but as the pair reach the cannon…
There's still a chance! That was only the initial activation! Come on Sonic, you can get there in time! He races into Robotnik's room with seconds on the clock…
Unfortunately, sometimes, even Sonic's speed isn't enough.
I feel like if there was any moment that Sonic would have let out a precision F-bomb, it would be now. First this kid lost his girlfriend, then everyone he ever loved was wiped out in an instant. Damn, dude…
Things aren't over, though. Bunnie and Antoine plant their bomb anyway, and as Sonic races for Robotnik, an alert announces a catastrophic system crash, with the Annihilator set to explode and hit the war room directly - right where Sonic and Robotnik are standing. Both stand facing each other. Surprisingly, Robotnik isn't even angry. He merely states that he's gotten to see his plans finally come to fruition, and that the only thing he wants now before he dies is to finally kill his most hated nemesis.
And so, as the Annihilator fires, they fight - and the explosion hits them.
We get a full blank white page after this. Just empty nothingness.
Then, a hand shattering through. A torso. Somehow, incredibly, Sonic is alive, and has broken back through oblivion to collapse in the rubble of the war room. As he loses consciousness, voices call out, noticing him and racing to get him immediate medical attention.
He wakes up several hours later in bed, and to his shock, Dr. Quack is there - as well as Rotor. He's in Knothole. Knothole! The Ultimate Annihilator did indeed hit the village, but it didn't destroy it as monitors seemed to indicate - rather, strangely, it catapulted the place three hours into the future, in its own little pocket zone. New zones have begun to emerge all over Mobius as a result of the Annihilator's explosion, in fact. Dr. Quack explains how this happened - as it turns out, Snively was indeed plotting his treachery from the beginning of this adventure, and Robotnik was so caught up in his success that he had no idea. Dr. Quack had watched, as he looked after the crystallized king in captivity, as Snively had made his own little "adjustments" to the Annihilator - causing it to target only the organic matter of Robotnik himself, leaving the rest of the inhabitants of the world unharmed.
And, oh, right, almost forgot. Sally's alive.
Sonic races out of the medical ward to see her, finding her memorial "coffin" in a field, lying undisturbed. He opens it and kisses her cheek, quietly begging her to come back, admitting that he loves her. And her eyes open. The original merely moves on to the final page from here, but in the Director's Cut, we finally get what we shippers have been waiting for this whole time - the Big Damn Kiss.
*wipes tear from eye* And that's it! We've reached the end of Endgame, and thus the end of the comic! Well it's been a wild ride, everyone, but I guess we're - wait, what? There's more? 289 issues more, you say? Well, I guess it's a relief the comic didn’t end here after all! There're so many more loose ends to tie up and explore, new worlds to see… and a new era of the comic to enter!
Seriously though guys, let's hear it for this arc. I know some people who dislike it, but I honestly love it - I think it's one of the most epic, pulse-pounding, action-packed stories so far, and it's really the arc that finally took the comic from still hanging onto its goofy, episodic roots into something really special. Next issue, we enter the third era of the comics, where we get to see everyone explore a freed world, and an end to the war that's plagued them for eleven years. Our Brave New World awaits!

King of Prism SSS episode 8 commentary (Yu)
So, in my opinion, I think the episodes we’ve seen up until now could be more or less enjoyed to the fullest by newcomers and/or people who haven’t seen Rainbow Live.
But from here on out, there is a notable change. And I really mean from here on out: Episodes 8 - 12 basically require having seen Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live to be fully understood I think.
So if you watched this episode and thought wait.... why did they just skip over Yu’s backstory like that!?!
Two words: Rainbow Live.
Anyway let’s get started.
I’m surprised the subber knew the correct spelling to ViviC Heart Session. That takes.... research!? ....Wait, it’s in the credits. Still, that’s some non-linear translation.
Also I kinda wonder when and where ViviC Heart Session came from in canon. Yeah it’s the Pride the Hero ending, but there is a whole story on how they made and performed Dramatic Love for the Christmas concert, but nothing on ViviC Heart Session as far as I know.
If you’re wondering why they’re all acting so weird, there have already been not one but TWO different story arcs in the Prism Rush Main Story about Yu ambitiously deciding to write songs and biting off way more than he could chew ahah....
They know.
So this kinda dates this episode? Sort of? Despite the way it seems in episode 1, clearly the Prism One doesn’t take place right after it was announced ahah.
The way Yu says this line makes me think it’s probably been a month or so already.
So maybe it was announced in July-August (episode 1 takes place in “summer”), and happened in September-October, something like that?
So like literally JUST as I was thinking to myself “wow the subs have really gotten better in this episode....” THIS had to happen... How dare you translate Taiga’s “IT’S A FESTIVAL” as “party time”................
Oh well. Honestly though, aside from this, this episode has the best subs so far, BY FAR.
Been wondering for months how they would sub MUGEN HABUUUUUU because I had no idea how I would do it myself ahah.
Although they don’t state it explicitly, it’s pretty clear this episode takes place in Okinawa. Among many other things, I think it’s the only place in Japan with habu.
I may or may not have thought way too hard for too long about how Taiga and Kakeru ended up in this boat together.
I mean I would like to think Taiga chose Kakeru as his partner in good faith that they could work well together.
BUT KAKERU ISN’T EVEN ROWING COME ON
HE’S JUST ENJOYING THE VIEW
THE VIEW BEING TAIGA IF YOU DIDN’T GET MY DRIFT
I suppose it could have been random pairs, but Shin and Leo also ended up together and that seems not random ahah. Speaking of which...
When I saw this episode for the first time I saw it as a 3-pack with Leo’s episode coming right before (the theatrical Part 3). So I had just gone though Leo’s episode for the first time and all the baggage that came with it less than 10 minutes earlier.
And needless to say I was VERY MUCH NOT OVER IT AND EXPERIENCING VERY HIGH EMOTIONS ABOUT LEO
So during this scene I was like like
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
MY SONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
SAVE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It actually took me until at least my second or third viewing to catch Kakeru trying to take a selfie with Taiga in the background there and I lost my shit.
BTW I just want to mention that ViviC Heart Session was made for this episode. Well yes I know it wasn’t literally made for this episode, but it’s always sounded tropical for me and it just could not be more perfect.
I have been wondering for months what Taiga says here and I’m still not sure. (Not that I think this subtitle is wrong, but I mean I can’t make out the Japanese he uses. I just know folks in the theater laugh about it. Or they could just be laughing at Taiga’s method of escaping from Yu.)
Me at cheering: “IT’S SHIN. PICK UP.”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”
I wonder if like, they all got together and tried to figure out who Yu was least likely to hang up on.
But seriously though
WHO COULD EVER HANG UP ON SHIN
YOU MONSTER
I said once that Jin was the best voicework in SSS, but Taiga man I dunno. Taiga is up there too. This scream is just so..... BRILLIANT..........
My reaction here changes from “OMG TAIGA ARE YOU OK” to just laughing hysterically. Sometimes in the same showing. Taiga I’m sorry.
My new desktop background.
Seriously this episode is just SO BEAUTIFUL.
Such a simple plot, but such amazing atmosphere and visuals that really take it SO MUCH FURTHER.
If I stopped to take screenshots of everything I thought looked amazing this post would never end. So just know I’m definitely thinking it. Just goddamn.
For a long time I wondered how and why Minato found about about this.
But then I realized it actually makes a lot of sense.
So remember in my last post when I talked about my theory that Minato and Yu probably joined Edel Rose at the same time? Well, when Yu met Leo, basically the first thing he did was brag about knowing Over the Rainbow. So he probably did the same to Minato, and/or Minato just noticed him being way too friendly with Kouji.
Considering Minato entered Edel Rose FOR KOUJI there is no way he wouldn’t notice that and wonder about it.
So one day he probably worked up the courage to ask Kouji about it, and.....
Oh boy.
BTW if you’re thinking huh? Yu’s family was separated? What?
See: The Ito/Kouji plot in Rainbow Live. (And bring tissues.)
Just the comparison of how fast he picks up here. Even though the first thing he does is complain to her it’s like.... HALF A SECOND from when he sees it’s Ito to when he answers omg.....
So I kinda questioned this subtitle here. Because the literal Japanese is just him saying “IT’S LATE!”
So I always thought he meant it like “Do you know what time it is!?”
But then I thought about it some more. And I remembered the Rose Party 2018 event, where the voice actors played a game where they all decided new aspects of the characters. And one of the things that were tasked with deciding (at the afternoon performance I believe) was what Yu does every night before he goes to bed. And one of the answers was “discusses life problems with Ito”.
So, maybe Ito does call Yu every night so he had been waiting on a call from her for a while....
And if so, in that context this subtitle is spot on.
You win, Crunchyroll.
Cheering audience: “THAT WAY”
Yu was so impressive Kakeru stopped taking pictures of Taiga for a full minute.
DID I MENTION THIS EPISODE IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL
But so like. As soon as they started heading up the hill. Like practically from when they called his name, I was like..... Yu’s gonna cry.
So then it was many long, long seconds of anticipation.....
until finally this.....
And I was not disappointed.
Of all the beautiful things in this episode, I think the most beautiful thing may just be Yu’s crying animation here. He’s such a beautiful crier.
I love this scene so much. It brings me so much joy. Because he’s not crying because he’s hurt or sad.
He’s crying because he realized he has friends.
HE’S CRYING BECAUSE HE HAS FRIENDS
YU
YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
You know, I didn’t even realize Taiga was hiding behind Kakeru until someone in the stream pointed it out.
Am I an asshole because this is Yu’s episode but most of my favorite moments involve Taiga/Kakeru.
HUG HIM
HUG HIMMMMMM
OH MY GAWD I have NEVER so desperately wanted to reach through the screen and hug an anime character
Also Leo always cries when anyone else is crying.
I spent so much time looking at Kakeru and Minato that I didn’t even realize Taiga too..... They’re BOTH sleeping on top of Minato omg.....
Also I can’t help but laugh that Leo is the big spoon on Shin. But it doesn’t surprise me. If you read Prism Rush stuff, Leo aggressively cuddling Shin in his sleep is nothing new.
Damn but. Okay so like, another way in which seeing this episode right after Leo’s influenced me is, during Leo’s episode I kept thinking about what PriPara coords were closest to the outfits that the boys were wearing and how I was totally gonna record arcade videos with them.
And then we get to this and I was like OH MAN I can’t wait until that outfit comes out so I can put it on my character.... then I was like.... WAIT.....
And I realized this is basically the only idol anime I watch currently where I can’t have the clothes and I was like......... ahhhh.... not fair..........
Seriously though it is kind of odd. For me anyhow.
But also because they don’t have to worry about an arcade game for King of Prism, they have a lot more freedom. Like in a show like this, usually all the important coords that season will all uniformly have wings or holograms or otherwise follow some kind of a theme.
But with this it’s like... WHATEVER. Give Yu a huge floaty cross?? SURE WHY NOT!!!! ahah......
PRISM LIIIIVE
Okay so I know this animation is straight from Rainbow Live.
But this lightning guitar here, it’s a recolor of Sara’s guitar from PriChan isn’t it?
And if it is, this’s the first/only specifically PriChan (not PriPara) reference I know of in SSS.
So I guess the Prism System doesn’t score Prism Lives for boys yet, huh....?
So one Prism Live + one jump = this.
But I suppose you could also argue that although Yu’s show was super personal and meaningful to him, he really didn’t do much for the audience did he? (The in-universe audience I mean, as it did plenty for me haha.) It was a rather street-style show in that aspect when you think about it.
Oh well, I guess no matter what someone has to be last................................
Ah man anyway this episode.
So when I saw it for the first time, it actually didn’t leave that much of an impression on me. But that’s because it was a bit overshadowed by how EXTREMELY EMOTIONALLY DISTRAUGHT I was from Leo’s episode, and then I ended up leaving the theater thinking about the um, surprise that’s gonna happen next week in Alexander’s episode. So this episode kinda fell by the wayside.
I was actually kinda jealous of how much you guys in the stream were freaking out about it. It really made me wish I had the chance to see it independently without the influence of Leo and Alexander. There are definitely advantages to watching these week-to-week instead of in odd bunches.
Because the more I watched it, the more I really REALLY liked it, and now I think it’s probably my third favorite character episode after Taiga’s and Leo’s. (Or maybe even second. I keep flip-flopping.)
I was also a bit blindsided by how this episode didn’t really follow the normal formula. Since they skipped over Yu’s backstory, they had time for other things. They had time for, dare I say it... “filler”? By that I mean, time to focus on just the boys being boys. Although it’s something we get a lot of on Prism Rush, I realized it’s something we have been severely lacking in the movies and anime. Another big difference between this series and typical Pretty Series/Aikatsu-type anime (other than not being able to have the coords......) is the lack of filler, and I realized how truly valuable it can be. This episode is just such a jewel.
So in between last week and this week I picked up a magazine (spoon 2Di vol. 50) with director commentary, and this was the last episode he commented on.
He said this episode is about Yu going through his “rebellious phase”, which he never had the chance to have when he was younger since his family split up during such an important part of his childhood and he felt he had to be strong for his mom and all that.
So instead he goes through it with his Edel Rose family.
GAAAAAH
Probably my favorite thing about Yu is how we’re able to see him gradually grow and change more than any other character I think.
Who would have though that little boy we met in Hokkaido would get this far......
So next up is Alexander’s episode and um....
You may have noticed me talking significantly less about that episode that I have about others. And there’s a reason for that. And it’s not because I have nothing to say about it......
The events in Alexander’s episode basically set off a continuity train until the end of the series. IMHO it doesn’t matter what order you watch episodes 2-8 in, but from here on out it’s definitely all connected.
So basically what I’m trying to get at is.... um.... g..... get emotionally ready for some future cliffhangers. I’m sorry.
Also, your last chance to properly prepare by watching Rainbow Live.... you won’t be disappointed, I promise.......

When we were younger roleplayers
So a friend of mine recently uploaded an older comic she did detailing an experience from her youth involving her first time roleplaying. This story really speaks to me, so I’ll link it here for you to see.
https://twitter.com/WolfenWingsShop/status/1135553476526821377
You know, this makes me wanna tell some of my own roleplaying stories, because boy do I have a few. ^^’’’ My nutcracker friends Freckle and Pepper hear be joke about ‘The Night of Angst Mountain’ far too much, but that’s only been within the past year. The story I’d like to tell you today come from when I first came online, back when my only account was on YouTube and we roleplayed in the comments sections of our channels.
Let me tell you the story of dreamerofchaos1 and her first time working as one of the Freedom Fighters.
Let’s set the stage. I was 14 years old, the year was 2011, and I had finally been deemed old enough to get a YouTube account. I’d asked my folks if I could have it for my birthday that year, which is March 29th. On April 2nd, my dad made a YouTube account for himself and then helped me to make mine, just so he could keep an eye on me should I ever need his help, but for the most part he wasn’t watching what I was doing. I had made this account intending to post tribute videos, you know, those fan art slideshows set to a popular song, and that is what I started out doing, but during that summer, I ended up hanging out with a bunch of roleplayers, and sometimes it was hard to distinguish fiction from reality. I’m still not sure how that started or how I ended up meeting these people, but we were an interesting bunch. A lot of this is really fuzzy for me
To start, even though we called ourselves the Freedom Fighters, it wasn’t at all the Freedom Fighters from the Sonic SatAM or Archie comics. We had a Sally, Tails, and Sonic who were barely present, otherwise, it was a lot of fan characters (most of which were recolors of Sonic, Tails, and Amy), along with an emo version of Kirby, Stitch and Angel from the Lilo and Stitch TV series, and a few others that referenced other franchises. We had a lot of fun on fictitious scenarios together, having picnics, fighting the Suppression Squad, it was a good time.
I didn’t stand out a ton among the good guys, but I definitely had my stuff together a little better. I didn’t have a character when I started interacting with everyone, but I developed one around the theme of my username named Dreamer. They were a tanooki that was an imaginary friend abandoned by their creator, a little girl named Ruth, that needed belief from other people in order to exist. Note that I refer to them as a ‘they.’ At that point in time, nobody online knew what my gender was, they all just kind of assumed I was a guy, and I didn’t say anything about it. I specified that my character was genderless, since why would an imaginary friend need to have a gender? But because you basically WERE your character unless you were in YouTube’s Inbox system, everyone thought I was a dude. To be honest...at the point in time, all of my friends outside of the web were dudes with the occasional girl that was super tomboyish. I was the girly one, I could never be “one of the guys,” and more than anything, that’s what I wanted. I’ve grown out of that now as an adult, I’m much happier just being me and not worrying what other people think about my body parts. I never directly lied about my gender, it was more that nobody ever asked, but eventually I did come clean about it. Unfortunately, the minute people found out I was a girl, my PMs (private messages, which are the same as DMs, but there was some amount of respect in actually keeping it private back then) got flooded with boys that wanted cybersex out of me, which was disgusting and utterly embarrassing, but that’s a story for another day.
The Suppression Squad was the main group of enemies, hell, the character you saw causing trouble the most was Miles, aka the Anti-Tails from Moebius/Anti-Mobius. That’s where I found two of my closer friends, Venice and Violet. Venice was the Anti-Silver, a fanmade concept as Silver never officially had an Anti version in the comics, using the concept art of Silver from Sonic 06 back when he was Venice the Mink. Violet was a fan character who was his girlfriend. Venice played a lot of different characters though, including a villain named No-Heart that had some Kingdom Hearts inspired elements. Sadly Venice, or rather Wyatt, dropped off the face of the earth, I never saw him again after YouTube changed its channel layout and everyone gave up our games there, but I do hope he’s doing well wherever he is. Same with Violet, or rather Whitney, I saw her a few times on deviantART, but not much.
There are a few roleplays that stick out to me from that time. No Heart stealing Dreamer’s heart and having them fight for the villains temporarily is one of the finer memories, hell, when I had her betray everyone and join the bad guys for real later on was quite fun. Duking it out with an evil clown and Anti-Guy from Paper Mario was kind of cool too. But the one that really sticks out to me is the one with Albert Wesker. Now, Albert Wesker is a Resident Evil character to my understanding, but I have no idea what his story is, and I wasn’t smart enough to look it up as a kid when this was going down. This guy came out of hecking nowhere, I never did learn who played him in the end. I remember he was going after everyone with needles, and once pricked, they’d be under his control. Dreamer of course had ended up kidnapped and trapped in wherever his domain was. Being the rebellious and narrow-minded child that I was, I had Dreamer go off on a long speech about how Wesker would never win, and good would always prevail over evil, blah blah blah, it had to have sounded so stupid and naive to him.
And then he killed my character. That had never happened before. Another player ended up godmodding them back to life with a “revival seed,” but like? It was so garbage. I felt so bad about it after the fact, like yeah, we beat the bad guy, but I felt like a dirty cheater, and I was! But it dawned on me why it happened later on in time. There was no formal system to how any of this worked, just a set of unspoken boundaries that were never crossed, and therefore a lot of godmodding happened, where people would be defeated who shouldn’t have been, powers were unfair, etc. But the thing is, I was one of the few who ever bothered to get creative with my attacks and have some sort of strategy, which in turn meant that I was often the one doing most of the fighting. During the Wesker stuff, I was the only one online that actually had any of that going on, the rest were content to play damsels in distress, that’s why my character got revived. I think Wesker showed up one more time after that and there was a fair fight before they disappeared, but dang. It was an interesting experience. I think it was the fact that I was the only one doing anything in battle that I opted to join the bad guys for a while, not to mention the good guys weren’t all that great to me. There was a lot of hugging and saying “you’re one of my best friends” all the time, but no one meant it, it was just fluff.
I wasn’t there for fluff, I was there for action, to do something, to challenge myself. Yeah, I wanted to make friends, friends with respectable people who were interested in actual plotlines. But I didn’t find that there, I didn’t find that anywhere in an RP community up until recently. Things have changed with my style over the past eight years. I’m a lot slower to jump to combat nowadays, in fact fighting hardly ever comes up, which is nice, even though I do have times where I miss it. I think I’ve realized that I’m happier being in a smaller group, about three people, where we ask each other about the plot and figure out where its going with a mix of improv and planning. One day though, I’d love to run an RP blog where I invite a bunch of people to participate in the chaos, one where I get to run the story and challenge them to survive. That was the idea behind OATS, maybe one day I’ll be able to run it. For now though, I’ve got some bigger fish to fry than roleplays. ^^’’’ Still, it was fun to reminisce on this, I hadn’t thought about this for a while.

20 Questions for Simmers
1.) Favorite Sims Game
While I have played and loved every version of The Sims, I think my absolute favorite was The Sims 2. It was the one I couldn’t put down! The little details and humor are what really stand out when I look back, and I don’t remember having any real problems with it either since the game itself was pretty solidly developed and bugs tended to be squashed quickly. Overall, I was never bored playing The Sims 2 and I still occasionally boot it up just to reminisce.
2.) Yourself in 3 Traits
Ambitious, dog lover, neat
3.) CC or No CC
I play with a small amount of CC. Everything I download is Maxis-match, and I pull pieces out whenever we get new official content that I can use instead.
4.) Preferred Part of the Game
I really like each part of the game and try to spend my time evenly among them. Lately I’ve been building and messing around in CAS more than actually playing though. Oops!
5.) Favorite Expansion Pack
In The Sims, my favorite EP was Makin’ Magic. I was so young when I played that I thought I was incredibly clever for figuring out the pattern to the spells in the dueling arena so that I’d win every time. And I had a lot of fun creating one of each type of potion and then trying them out on the poor, unsuspecting townies!
In The Sims 2, my favorite EP was Bon Voyage. I spent so much time completing every single vacation memento! Some of them were really hard to figure out too, so finishing the collection was really rewarding to me. All three of the destinations were equally fun to explore with their local dances, gestures, foods, and massages. I could really feel the difference between visiting Takemizu Village, Twikki Island, and Three Lakes.
In The Sims 3, my favorite EP was Ambitions. The firefighter career and the new inventing skill were the real highlights to me. I spent weeks creating a Simbot without cheating, and firefighting was a really exciting change from the standard rabbithole careers. Another neat feature was the ability to sculpt statues of Sims. Never-melting ice sculptures looked great in mansions, and of course stone sculptures made great monuments to ‘famous’ Sims in town.
In The Sims 4, my favorite EP (so far) is Seasons. The weather effects are beautiful, the raincoats and rainboots and umbrellas are adorable, kiddie pools are the greatest item ever created, and temperature is just such a vital addition that it's finally starting to feel like a full game for me! Seasons and weather in general also function differently in each world, which is perfect. I didn’t want snow in Oasis Springs, and Brindleton Bay desperately needed fog and rain to feel complete.
6.) Favorite Game Pack
In The Sims 4, my favorite GP (so far) is Vampires. I never really liked this life state before, but this time around they’re fantastic! The abilities help differentiate each vampire from one another, and I love that they don’t have to ask permission nicely before biting a Sim. The sticker cracks and spider webs are also something I’d been wanting to help make places seem less perfect. Overall, the life state seems so detailed and sets a much higher bar for future life states. I don’t even mind paying for each individually if they’re this well-done.
7.) Favorite Stuff Pack
In The Sims 2, my favorite SP was H&M Fashion. Honestly, I just really loved all the new clothing that kept my Sims from constantly matching each other. And building a clothing store with all the cool retail items that came with it was a lot of fun too!
In The Sims 3, my favorite SP was Town Life. The rabbitholes were more modern and added some variety since most of the others were the same building with slightly different colors. I had a lot of fun remodeling my more modern worlds with them.
In The Sims 4, my favorite SP (so far) is Laundry Day. I’m a sucker for realism elements so adding another menial chore for my Sims makes me happy. The laundry system is surprisingly complex, the furniture filled in a lacking farmhouse style I felt was missing from the game, and stackable machines look perfect in apartments. The clothing and hairstyles were also very well-done and I have to actively try not to overuse them on all my Sims.
8.) Least Favorite Expansion Pack
In The Sims, my least favorite EP was House Party. It felt like the smallest addition we were given, and parties weren’t enough for me to explore more than a handful of times before I got bored. As soon as the next EP came out, I moved on to the new content and I don’t think I ever threw another party again.
In The Sims 2, my least favorite EP was Nightlife. It wasn’t bad at all, it was just the one I used the least. My personal gameplay style at the time was incredibly family-oriented and you just don’t take your kids to clubs. I only ever went to the new Downtown subhood for first dates and a few marriage proposals since the date interactions were pretty cute.
In The Sims 3, my least favorite EP was Showtime. I don’t think I ever really played with anything from it. The ‘optional’ online connection where you would send your Sims to someone else’s game to perform really made me mad since some of the items you paid for were locked away behind it and I had no desire to participate. And the whole in-game news feed and achievement system were horrible and really caused problems. The venues were also super glitchy so even when I did give the new active careers a go, trying to complete a performance was almost impossible. Overall, the whole thing felt like more trouble than it was worth.
In The Sims 4, my least favorite EP (so far) is Get to Work. I think my expectations were just too high going into it. The active careers are okay, but none of them make me actually want to follow my Sims to work past the first few days because they get highly repetitive and there’s no real risk associated with them. The retail system also seems a bit lacking. There are very few retail items to use when building a store, although I do have to mention that the clothing mannequins are pretty cool. And actually running it is too easy since you can just instantly restock the items even if they’re unique things that you’ve made your Sims create.
9.) Least Favorite Game Pack
In The Sims 4, my least favorite GP (so far) is Spa Day. It’s not nearly as immersive as the others. There isn’t much to do outside of getting a massage or doing yoga, and both are kind of boring to do repeatedly over and over. It doesn’t expand on the gameplay nearly enough to be categorized as a GP in my opinion; I’d demote it to SP.
10.) Least Favorite Stuff Pack
In The Sims 2, my least favorite SP was Glamour Life. It added the least versatile stuff. Most of my Sims weren’t swimming in cash, so the items, particularly the clothing, were rarely used since they’d look and feel out of place.
In The Sims 3, my least favorite SP was Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats. I didn’t even buy it and I have no idea why anyone did. The objects were all horrible and cheesy. There was literally nothing good about it. At all. Ever.
In The Sims 4, my least favorite SP (so far) is My First Pet. No matter how many times they deny it, it’s a massive money grab. The furniture set literally completes what they left incomplete in Cats & Dogs! The clothing is for the most part just recolors of what we already have! And to top it all off, there’s just one new critter. They claim four, but it’s the same thing with a different skin overlay. I am perfectly fine with some items in a pack being dependent on owning previous packs so that they can continue to expand on past content. But to release this immediately after the associated EP and for it to pretty much be the rest of the items that we were missing from said EP...certainly seems like they withheld content just to wring an extra $10 from their players. Especially since it wasn’t even mentioned in their quarterly teaser. Haven’t bought it, and will not until it’s on sale.
11.) Custom or EA / Maxis Sims
EA / Maxis Sims are the best! I adore the premades and their unique, weird stories. My favorite thing to do is make them over and put an interesting spin on their storylines while still keeping them recognizable.
12.) Households or Single Sims
Definitely households. I prefer organized chaos with lots of things going on at once! There just isn’t enough to do when there’s only one Sim.
13.) Free Will On or Off
Free will is always firmly set to off in my game. I’m a dictator when it comes to my Sims and I make no apologies for that.
14.) Favorite Life Stage
Toddlers. They’re just so darn cute! The expanded skill building this time around is really cool since they actually learn in discernible stages instead of all at once, and I’m still not over their ability to go up and down stairs all on their own. The little mess-makers also have some of the cutest interactions with other Sims and their environment.
15.) Favorite Life State
Aliens. The first time I ever had a Sim abducted was in The Sims 2, and it terrified me because I had no idea what was going on and didn’t know if he was ever going to come back. Then he was finally returned and popped out an alien baby! It was just so surprising and ever since I’ve had a particular fondness for extraterrestrials.
16.) Favorite Skill
Cooking is probably my favorite skill to build. Something about getting to see what those difficult dishes look like is just fun to me. Since The Sims 4 actually includes 3 separate skills for cooking, gourmet, and baking skills I’ve been having a blast discovering all the new recipes!
17.) Ever Completed a Legacy
Only once, way back in The Sims 2. It lasted a grand total of 16 generations before I wound up making the move to The Sims 3. I’ve tried numerous times since then, but The Sims 3 was too buggy to play a single file that long and The Sims 4 is still missing a couple of key features that I’d like to have before trying again.
18.) Longest Simming Session
When I had more free time (and was significantly younger), I happily confess to wasting away a full weekend playing The Sims 2. These days I’m lucky to get a couple hours a week here and there. Ah the joys of growing up!
19.) Personal Sims Wishlist
There are a few things I’m still really missing for The Sims 4. I’m hoping universities and witches are making a comeback soon as they’re crucial to my planned storylines. Fairies, werewolves, and a beach vacation world would also be wonderful to have but they’re less important to me.
20.) Unpopular Opinion
I don’t miss the open world system from The Sims 3 at all. I’m perfectly happy trading it for every world to be connected. Every save file is a megahood and I find that preferable to a single, completely open world. I also think that it makes the game more stable for everyone, especially lower-end computers. The loading screens are worth it!
