Ayesha and her people, the Sovereign, only appear in a few short scenes in this film, but they are extremely memorable, and the visual design plays a large part in that effect. This gown was made mostly of leather.

The designer, Judianna Makovsky, had this to say in an interview: "I wanted it to have a very metallic and intricate feel. One of the things that James Gunn said is that 'everything in the world is gold.' But we didn't want it to look like Las Vegas. So it wasn't going to be sequin-sparkly, anything like that. But also, we wanted something that was quite sexy as well as being armor. We were also paying a bit of homage to Flash Gordon. Everybody seems to love Flash Gordon, so I wanted to keep it in that world.... We had two versions of skirt: one for sitting and one for standing. One that would fully tulip all the way around and one that was flatter in the back. So it was pretty either way."

Elizabeth Debicki also commented that the costume helped her to get in character: "The restrictions in a costume like that, the corset element of it, the severity of the angles of it and even the weight of it, completely informs how you move because you can' t do certain things in it, which then indicates the type of person you are. When you think of the logic of that character, you wonder why she wears something like that. But it's because she' s informing her people the type of queen she is. It completely changes your physicality, though. I didn' t really feel like Ayesha in a way until I put that dress on and then sat on that throne. Then I really knew what she was all about."

A “QUICK!” Review of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)”

Rewatching the trilogy again, this entry manages to not fall into one big problem the MCU has. The lack of colours. MCU movies are notably dull or grey but not GOTG2. The vibrancy of the colours makes this one of the most visually pleasing movies to watch. This movie also has some nice neat moments such as the Yondu and Rocket "You're like me!" conversation and the moment where Mantis felt Drax's sadness.

It does have a weaker plot though with 3 different ongoing plots that seem to be happening at the same time. These plots are barely connected and only get stitched together right at the end.

Nevertheless, the cast is still phenomenal and the action set pieces are still enjoyable to watch. The soundtrack is great with one of the best opening use of Mr Blue Sky in cinema history.

A great sequel!

The Story The Story is about the main character finding his father. The film is really funny. It knows not to take itself too seriously (like the first film did) and knows how to make you laugh. Yes, it does have its more emotional moments, but they don't dwell on it too long and focus on being action-packed fun. They even managed to do a great bittersweet ending in this, and as a fan of bittersweet endings, this is one of the best ones I've seen. I also love the message about father-son relationships. You don't see them in films anymore. It's all been replaced by girl power and "I don't need a man" stories. It just gets tiring and worn out after a while. This film is definitely a breath of fresh air. The Characters The Characters have more personality in this film, especially the blue...grey...whatever colour he is dude is given a more fun personality. Some may dislike the new direction this film takes with the old characters, but it is definitely a welcome change in my book! The new characters are also great and funny. And the new villain in this film is like the old classic Disney villains who are just the most evil people in cinema. And come on... how could you not love baby Groot? The Special Effects The Special Effects are so well done in this film. They must of put so much money into the CGI department and just let them go crazy. The landscapes in this film just look so realistic. It's like you could go there (even though it wouldn't be my first choice for a holiday). And the Easter Eggs left in this film. They are EVERYWHERE! Old-time Marvel fans will love trying to find them all. Final Thoughts This film is officially on the list of "the only Marvel films I actually like" alongside "Big Hero 6". I have to be honest, this film is a masterpiece. A very funny one, at that. So if you're just looking for some sci-fi fun, look no further. Cons: Less dynamic plot, Not very interesting new characters, Protracted finale. Overall, it's a decent sequel with an emotional story and good effects, but a less dynamic plot.

Blue Swede - Hooked on a Feeling 1973

"Hooked on a Feeling" is a 1968 pop song, written by Mark James and originally performed by B.J. Thomas. Thomas's version featured the sound of the electric sitar (played by Reggie Young) and reached No. 5 in 1969 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1973, the Swedish poprock group Blue Swede did a cover version, which included the ooga chaka introduction from a 1971 cover by Jonathan King. King had heard Johnny Preston's "Running Bear", which was the inspiration for the ooga chaka chant. This version reached number one in the US in 1974.

In 1992, Blue Swede's recording was featured on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's debut feature Reservoir Dogs.

In the mid-90's, the Dancing Baby "sk_baby.max" model became one of the first viral memes. The animation was also shown on several episodes of the 1998 legal comedy-drama series Ally McBeal as a recurring hallucination, suggesting a metaphor for the ticking of Ally's biological clock, and was accompanied by Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling". Various commercial advertisements presented the Dancing Baby animation to international markets continuing the mainstream media attention. This particular manifestation of the video, bound to the song, is widely distributed and referred to as the "Ooga Chaka Baby", further cementing the scene in pop culture history.

The 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, which featured the brass fanfare and title lyrics of the Blue Swede cover version prominently in its trailers and theatrical release, resulted in a significant spike in sales for the recording; the film's soundtrack reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart in August 2014. The song was also featured in the teaser trailer for the 2017 sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Blue Swede's frontman is singer/actor Björn Skifs. He did the Swedish dub of Woody in the first two Toy Story movies, as well as singing in stead of Phil Collins in the Swedish dub of Brother Bear.
