So. Sometimes I’m not a very social person, and sometimes I am. I have a lot of friends on social media. All across. All over the world. Most of you know this is my mom. Recently she was diagnosed with a really rare aggressive cancer. She has a really intense surgery tomorrow morning to try and remove as much of it as they can. If you’re the praying type, please pray, send good vibes, do whatever it is that you do for the best outcomes as possible. This weekend was all about family, fun, and the sun. We caught a cotton candy sky as we arrived at the beach, and shared some laughs. And ended the night with an incredible moonrise. The next day brought a fantastic set up courtesy of my brother, the Subaru ambassador; as well as some necessary skin care products. I know, I know... one of those things is not like the other. Ours at night included our annual family photo at the beach, always ridiculous, and a beautiful sunset. Thanks for being so good to us Ocean City, New Jersey. This weekend was an impromptu trip to the beach with one of my best friends. Our first night was spent on her rooftop deck with an incredible view of Philly. In the morning we went to the beach. It started out cold grey and suuuper windy. But as the day went on, the sun came out! We got to work on our tans, have awesome conversations, eat a delicious Hawaiian meal, and of course, no beach trip is complete without Kohr Bro’s ice cream. This morning we took the ferry across the Delaware river to Spruce Street Harbor Park had some water ice and played around in hammocks. Ended the day with much needed Thai food. Life’s too short not to have fun. Take weekend trips. See your friends. Ya know, this post may be a day late, but that seems to be the story of my life. 33 has had its fair share of ups and downs, seemingly more the latter than the former. But. As 33 came to an end, I spent it with the people I’d want to spend my whole life with. [last years family portrait ha!]And. To boot. I got to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom; just like 34 years ago [and many others since ha!] this weekend consisted of a pancake and sausage breakfast, lunch at the river, getting caught in the storms, and then a family lunch; topped off by some surprises at work. You know. I believe that God speaks to us in personal ways. Perhaps someone else driving down the road a few weeks ago saw this scene as nothing more than a few clouds. But. It was a sign. A reminder, if you will, of who He is, and what He came to do. “Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.” A reminder that His love for us was so great that he paid the ultimate sacrifice. This has been a really tough week for our family. But. That doesn’t stop us from celebrating in style. Yesterday was Father’s Day, and my dad turned 83 today. Mr. Phil. Phil Phil falafel. You were the sweetest boy. You didn’t deserve this. I’m so sorry that this is how everything happened. You were so so loved. You followed in Mr. Poncho’s footsteps with your love for Turkey. You always wanted to be near your sister, Pepper. You loved naps, especially naps with Mom.
