Okay, for aro awareness week, I need you all to start recognizing that:
NOT EVERYONE IN THE ARO COMMUNITY IS FROM THE UNITED STATES OR EUROPE.
Please, when we're having discussions about aphobia, allonormativity amatonormativity, and other issues for the love of god STOP PRETENDING THAT WE DON'T EXIST AND LISTEN TO US!
We aren't just your token aros that exist in the other side of the world just for you to prove that we are everywhere or whatever point you're trying to make, we are living, breathing human beings and members of the aro community and we deserve respect and to be remembered not as a point in your discourse but as equals.
I am sick and tired of people just assuming that everyone in the community is either from the United States or Europe and only centering those voices in the discussion. We exist too.

Absolutely the Cherry on top of my London book signing adventure was to find a stack of SAINTS OF STORM AND SORROW right along side the delightful @ay_chao 's Shanghai Immortals on a table highlighting "Brave New Worlds Fantasy Titles at the Picadilly @waterstones
(disregard the fact I almost knocked over this whole 200 LB heaped table of books in my excitement to get the shot 🤣🤣)
Clearly a perfect pair of Asian fantasy titles to pick up! And I could have asked for a better conversation partner for my first in person book event!!

Is a sinigang ramen possible? Apparently yes.
Ramo Ramen in London's Soho district merges a sampalok (tamarind) broth with noodles, nori, roasted tomato, soft-boiled egg, and two grilled prawns making this a seafood and halal sinigang ramen.
I also enjoyed the art there.

I took the train going to London and the guy that checks train passes stopped by in front of me and asked and wanted to make sure if I’m not under 25, I hadn’t initially understand the question as I was too surprised and had to make sure I heard him correctly. I respond back, “for Christ’s sake, I’m 31!” And we just both laughed. For some reason It made my day even when it’s just about.
Jumper and coat season it is! Hello Autumn! Thank you for reminding me the beauty in letting go. 🍂 Oh life is good! 😊

Life lately
It’s been a while since I last posted a text blog here and I can still remember how I felt back then. The pandemic has really impacted everybody and personally, as a front liner, it was really tragic. My job as an ER nurse has become really exhausting instead of fulfilling. I can still remember going to work with heavy weight on my feet. Esp during the peak of COVID delta variant, I can painfully describe how i felt like giving up. But it was also the time I realized that the support I was receiving from my workmates and friends back then has been really helpful. The team that I’ve worked with in Makati Medical Center Emergency Department has been very very lovely. I was happy.
But I still left. Why? I believed I was trapped with something that will never be in my favor. There were times that I also thought that I was contented with what’s being presented to me and didn’t ever think of what’s ahead. I wanted to achieve so much and even if I was happy, I will never get to reach them if I don’t leave.
I moved to the UK March 2023. It’s the scariest decision I’ve ever made in my life. I have been independent since I started working but the first few weeks living here has made me become like a toddler needing my mom everyday. Nobody taught me how to live abroad and when I got here, it felt like I had to discover everything on my own. Good thing that I have friends here from uni and previous work who guided me on what to do. It was a good decision choosing London over the outskirts.
4 months have passed and I’m still adjusting to the weather and culture. It is very hard to cope. I thought I have figured out my life and people think that i’m so put together when i’m actually not. There’s still a lot to discover and to explore. One of my friends told me that he was also a mess before but things will get better and that I will love London even more.
So far it has been better: Everyday has been a learning opportunity for me. I am slowly learning how to manage my task and time in my new workplace although it hasn’t been the same as the previous one and honestly, I still hate it. What’s keeping to stay is the team and people that i am working with. ;) I was able to buy things that I can’t afford before: my dream shoes, makeup, and gadgets. It’s not because I am splurging but I realized that I deprived myself to it and that I deserve and need it. (Char ngita og reason haha) I also got the chance to decorate my own bedroom and make it cozy as possible. And I get to enjoy my alone time.
I’ll be turning 30 in a few days and I just wanted to achieve peace of mind and genuine happiness. I just wanted to quote something from one of my favorite songs by Two Door Cinema Club:
“It took a little time to make a little better
It’s only going out
Just one thing then another you know
Let’s make this happen, girl
We’re gonna show the world that something good can work
And it can work for you
And you know that it will.”

If you're on the hunt for genuine Filipino hair in extensions in the UK, it's crucial to consider several key factors. In this guide, we'll explore four essential aspects to help you make an educated choice.
Trustworthy Suppliers
The initial step in locating authentic Filipino hair in extensions is to procure them from reputable suppliers. Authenticity and Origin
Filipino hair in extensions is renowned for its fine texture and natural allure. To ensure the authenticity of the Filipino hair you're purchasing, it's important to verify its source. Reliable suppliers often provide detailed information about the hair's origin. Filipino hair typically boasts a silky and straight texture, so be cautious of products claiming to be Filipino hair in extensions that do not exhibit these characteristics.
Quality and Maintenance
Ensure the Filipino hair in extensions is made of 100% human hair for an authentic look. High-quality extensions feature intact cuticles, contributing to a natural appearance and durability. Follow recommended care guidelines for proper maintenance, including gentle washing and conditioning while minimizing excessive heat styling.
Customer Support and Return Policies
Opt for a supplier that offers excellent customer support and a fair return policy for Filipino hair in extensions. This ensures that you have recourse should you encounter any issues with your Filipino hair extensions. Prior to making a purchase, carefully review and comprehend the supplier's terms and conditions concerning returns, exchanges, and warranties.
Conclusion
Securing authentic Filipino hair in extensions in the UK demands a thorough assessment of the supplier's reputation, verification of the hair's source, scrutiny of product quality, and consideration of the customer support and return policies. By adhering to these four vital tips, you can greatly increase your chances of obtaining stunning and long-lasting Filipino hair in extensions to enhance your overall look.

Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu
I only ‘discovered’ Olivia Rodrigo yesterday and this was the first track of hers I checked out. I was in London a couple of weeks back and kept having major deja vu experiences, hence this selection. This young lady, a Filipino-American, is only 20 years old. It’s making me feel old seeing youngsters like this coming through! She has a sweet little voice and some creative lyrics, with quality…

My mom was often called “Doña”, maybe because she was the “Manang” of the family, living her best life abroad.
It was nice to dine at the latest Filipino restaurant opened by London’s own Maginhawa Group: Donia Restaurant.
They combine Filipino warmth with British cuisine. Check it out at Kingly Court at Carnaby London in the “heart of London’s West End.”

August 2023
I said goodbye to my 20s last August and it was such a fun-filled month. Got the chance to spend my birthday weekend in Scotland which I enjoyed with my college best friends J-Anne and Marc, and Deinn who is my cohort-mate slash workmate here in the UK.

This place really made me feel that I am in a different place as we explore the culture behind it - plus, it was the start of the Fringe Festival which is the largest art festival in the world. Too bad we didn’t have much time to watch some shows but the streets of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh was really alive and festive. Naging chaka yung London compared to this city charet. I will surely go back.
Also met up a few times with Harvey who is one of my best friends from Makati just to have a food trip or coffee date. Ewan ko ba kahit lagi kaming galing night duty basta day off, we would explore food markets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to make the most of sunny days, my previous workmates from Makati Med (who became our closest friends too) went to celebrate Mawi’s birthday in Camber Sands. After a week, we went hiking in the famous Seven Sisters Chalk Cliffs which was the most exhausting hike of my life hahaha! The supposed to be 3-hour hike turned 6 hours!! If it wasn’t a Harry Potter scene setting, I wouldn’t have joined lol but the view was really breathtaking.

Ending this month with a new tattoo! My highschool friends decided to have koi fish as our friendship tattoo, and I was thinking if I get a bigger one, it has to be more symbolic or meaningful. So here it is:

I heard that in the following months, days would become shorter and colder. Well, summer has been my favorite season so far.
