Katara x Mai fanfic concept where Katara brings Mai home to the Southern Water Tribe and to meet Kanna

It doesn't necessarily go great

Kanna gets to reminiscing about her youth, she mentions that her first love was a Southern Tribal woman abducted by the Fire Nation, she was their greatest and bravest waterbender

And Katara realizes Hama was as dear to Kanna as Mai is dear to her

So Katara and Mai travel to the Fire Nation to redeem Hama from prison and bring her home—

Hama does not make this an easy process, though. For one thing she’s got a lot of opinions on the fact that Katara has hitched her boat to a noblewoman of the Fire Nation

What ensues? Hard talks and cups of tea, night walks under the aurora, pride and tears, old hatred and young love... and for Mai and Katara, a happily-ever-after where they can both honor their past and their future, their nations and each other. For Kanna and Hama, too, a happily-for-now. What the hell, they've earned it.

Honestly I'm pretty lucky¹ in that this doesn't happen to me too often but the next time some asshole asks why I still live with my family even though I'm an 'Adult' with a 'Job' or whatever I am going to staple the 100k USD² quote for my new wheelchair accessible vehicle³ to their forehead. Being disabled is so fucking expensive.

hi! op of 'dante limbus company demanding to join a fucking union' here, if it helps any, dante IS a very silly person, despite being an amnesiac they are able to be a bit silly with it, and theres a neat feature in the game were you can find notes written by them on different lore aspects and a lot of the time they're like "and so there's this thing. it makes no sense. what the fuck is this. okay. i guess The City is just fucked up. okay." the gameplay is a turn based very stragety heavy rpg, but i dont think there's ever a point where i've felt super walled by it in terms of difficulty, and the rest of the characters ur gonna be seeing are very good too. big recommend.
