Rockbert Fanfic but mainly about Daggett

“I don't get you Daggett. Rocko isn't that bad. He's just very shy and has social anxiety.”, Norbert said as he crossed his arms at his brother. Daggett rolled his eyes, “It's not that I don't like his personality. He's Fine. It's just that I don't know if we'll get along well. I barely got to know him and you're already making it seem like he's going to be my new brother in law.”. Norbert sighed, “I know. It's just that. You weren't really close with TreeFlower and it didn't work out between us.”. Daggett grew offended, “Oh so it's my fault that she left you?!”. Norbert shook his head quickly, “No! That's not what I meant!!”. Daggett crossed his arms, “No no! It's clearly what you meant! Every time something major happens, I always take the blame while you sit back and watch the whole drama crumble!”. Norbert sighed and tried to explain again, “Daggett.”. Suddenly their wall exploded and they both turned around to see the two scientists in their van. They came back from God knows where. “There they are! Let's get them and do some experiments on them!”, Scientist #1 said as he pushed the button. Norbert immediately grabbed Daggett and ran upstairs. “We can never catch a break from them!”, Daggett yelled as he followed his brother. Norbert slammed the button and a small canyon appeared that aimed at O’ Town. He shoved Daggett in there, “Don't squirm too much, otherwise you won't land on the safe spot.”. Daggett looked at him confused, “Wait what?”. Norbert slammed the button and Daggett was launched towards the town. He screeched as he flew towards the small town. He then sees a familiar house and lands on the triple mattress on the roof.

Inside the house Rocko, Heffer and Filburt heard a loud thud and went outside. “What the blimey was that?”, Rocko asked as he looked up at his roof. Daggett then appeared dizzy, “Ohh that was nuts.”. Rocko looked up there shocked, “Daggett?!”. Daggett looked down and waved, “Hey. Uhh can you get me down from here?.”. As he moved thud can be heard landed behind him and Norbert got up. “Note to self, get the mattresses that Don't have springs in there.”, Norbert said as he held onto his head. Rocko grew more concerned, “Norb?! What's going on??”. Norbert then pushed the small ladder off the roof and climbed down. “Long story short, there's these two crazy scientists that are after me and Dag. They've been wanting to study us for the past years, but we always got away from them. Right now they invaded our dam and I had to use the cannon.”, Norbert said as he looked at the sky. He noticed the small smoke that trailed behind them and groaned. “They're going to follow us. It's best if I use something to send them away.”, Norbert said as he paced around. Daggett got down and went up to his brother, “Hold on! We're not done talking yet!”. Norbert turned and grabbed his brother's shoulders, “Listen Daggett I know I've been trying to force you to be friends with Rocko. But you have to understand. I just don't want this whole scenario to happen again.”. Daggett groaned and backed away, “Again with this. It's not my fault that TreeFlower left you!”. Norbert groaned, “I know it's not! I'm not saying that it is! I'm just saying that-”.

“What? That if I wasn't here then maybe your life would've been better?!”, Daggett yelled. Norbert looked at him confused, “What are you talking about?! No, my life wouldn't be better! How could you say that?!”. Daggett stormed away, “Because I know! I've seen it!! Not everyone likes me! I don't have friends! Your friends don't even like me at all!! They just see me as some freak! The only way they can be my friend is if You Ask them to!! So without me. Everyone's lives would've been better. You would’ve stayed with TreeFlower.. Your friends would've been successful.. The whole town would've looked a lot better, and even some people wouldn't be crazy or sick..”. Norbert was shocked at this and walked up to him, “Dag..”. He then heard Rocko shout, “Look out!!”. They were both tackled to the ground by Rocko, barely dodging the large claw from the van. They all looked to see the Scientists growl and slam the button again. “Get the yellow one! He always ruins our plans!!”, Scientist #1 yelled as Pete slammed the button again. This time the large claw grabbed onto Norbert and yanked him towards the van. Rocko got up in panic and ran towards him, “Norbert!!”. Norbert struggled through the grip and called out to him, “Get Daggett somewhere safe!! I'll handle this!”.

Heffer and Filburt went outside confused about the noise. “What's with all the racket- What the what?!”, Heffer yelled as he watched Norbert getting held up by the large claw. Filburt began to panic, “Oh gosh. He's getting taken by the mad scientists!”. The van then sped off and Rocko tried to follow. He then pointed at Heffer, “Grab Daggett and get in the car!!”. Heffer looked at the brown beaver and grabbed him, “What's going on?!”. They all got in the car and Rocko sped off after the van. “Some weird scientists wanted to experiment with them and took Norbert.”, Rocko said as he tried to catch up with the van. Filburt grew nervous, “But Rocko. We don't know what they can do. They could hurt us!”. Daggett looked out the window, “No they won't. They're too dumb to understand what science means.”. The three looked at Daggett then Rocko spoke up, “Can you explain to us how to get rid of them?”. Daggett looked at them then looked away, “Well. Usually what Norbert does is try to backfire their inventions.”. Heffer thought about it, “Well. How do we backfire it?”. Filburt thought quietly, “Well the machine is huge, what if we break it?”. Rocko then glared at Filburt, “We are not using my car.”. Filburt shrugged, “Worth a shot.”. Daggett then thought about it and his eyes widened, “Wait! I remember that they usually keep the deactivation button in their van.”. Rocko looked at him confused, “Why would they do that?”. Daggett shrugged, “They always have one with them.”. Heffer then smiled, “Well why don't we just go deactivate it?”. Filburt nodded, “Yeah and we can destroy their van too!”.

Rocko then spoke up, “What about Norbert? What if that button causes the machine to explode while he's there?”. The boys thought about it then Daggett spoke up. “How about you guys grab Norbert and I'll handle the scientists?”, Daggett said as he looked out the window. Heffer spoke up, “Oh no you don't you won't do that alone. I'll go with you Daggett. Besides, they might have snacks there!”. Filburt nodded, “Heffer is the perfect weight to destroy the van itself.”. Heffer nodded and paused, “Hey!”. This made everyone laugh and then silence filled the ride. Rocko then took a deep breath, “Listen Daggett, I don't know what you've been through before I came along but there's something you need to know. Your brother.. He may not understand what being a good older brother means but I do know that he cares about you. He talks about you and your sisters a lot.”. Daggett looked at him a bit surprised then frowned a bit, “Did he ever tell you how he treated me before?”. Rocko nodded and frowned a bit, “I didn't really like how he treated you and voiced my opinions. Now he's trying to mend things and be better. Which did work a lot actually.”. Daggett thought about it and remembered how Norbert defended him from his friends. Spent more time with him. Joined him in his superhero role play a lot. He also started to be more nice and understanding. “Another thing you need to know.. Without you. I don't think it'll end well between Norbert and TreeFlower. I know you said that they ended up together but. Was he really himself?”, Rocko asked. Daggett thought about and noticed how Norbert. Didn't seem more himself in that dream. Sure he looked happy, but he wasn't truly himself. “I. I don't think so. He looked too dressed and his hair looked too weird.”, Daggett claimed. Rocko then looked at him sadly, “Norbert may love to fix his hair but he always left it as it was. He didn't have to worry about impressing me or anyone. Because he was more himself. If it wasn't for you. Then he would've kept that mask on and hid his true self.”. Rocko smiled a bit and kept his eyes locked on the road, while Daggett was astounded. He's right.. He can't be the reason TreeFlower didn't like Norbert that much. She tolerated him a lot and never once told Norbert to ditch him. And the other gang may respect Norb, but one mistake and he's a laughing stock. Bing would also take advantage and talk to him non stop. He might even end up as his roommate.

“Wow Rocko. That's deep.”, Heffer said, interrupting their thoughts. Rocko looked at the rear mirror, “I forgot you two were here.”. Filbert scoffed, “Oh way to ruin the moment.“. Heffer looked at him offended, “I was being very respectful, you turtle!”. They both began a heated argument and Rocko rolled his eyes. Daggett looked at him then away, “Thanks. For telling me this.”. Rocko smiled, “Anytime. Norbert may be smart but he doesn't know how to explain properly.”. Daggett laughed at this and Rocko joined in. Rocko finally noticed the familiar blonde hair. “There he is!!”, Rocko called out as he saw Norbert struggling in the claw's grip. Everyone got up and looked to see the van sped towards the largest building. Rocko followed it immediately and tried to get closer to it. Daggett then thought about it and spoke up, “Wait! We can't make it look like we're behind them, otherwise they might use Norbert as a shield!”. Rocko looked at him then at Norbert. He sighed and slowed down, “You're right. I can't risk Norbert's life if we're close behind. They'll try to break check on me and cause an accident.”.

They followed not too far behind and noticed the van parking inside the building. They followed and parked in another place. They all got down and ran towards the van. They noticed the scientists pulling out the machine that has Norbert. “Ok you take the beaver to the roof, from there no one can bother us.”, Scientist #1 said confidently. Pete then looked at him concerned, “Won't I get trapped up there?”. Scientist #1 frowned, “You're a scientist! No one will trap you!”. Norbert smirked, “Oh yeah of course no one will trap you. You have a Very Easy way out.”. Scientist #1 smirked, “See even the blonde one knows!”. Norbert rolled his eyes and struggled again while Pete took him towards the elevator. Once they went in, Daggett looked at Rocko and Filburt, “Go. Save my brother please.”. Rocko nodded and snuck towards there with Filburt behind. Daggett then looked at Heffer, “All we have to do is get to the van and see if there's anything to shut that thing off. Heffer nodded and picked up Daggett, “Let's do this!”.

They both snuck towards the van and peeked inside to see the scientist sitting on the driver's seat reading a magazine about science. Daggett got in and tried to look around. “Seems rude to go into someone's car, little beaver.”, Scientist #1 said unamused. He then pushed a button and the floor opened for the small claws to grab at him. Daggett screeched but he was yanked away by Heffer. “Why don't you pick on somebody your own size!”, Heffer yelled. The scientist laughed, “Oh don't worry I have better equipment.”. He pushed the button again and this time a bigger claw grabbed Heffer. Daggett panicked and he chomped on the wires. Heffer watched in shock as he bit into the wires and tore it off the bottom. Heffer fell and the impact caused the whole van to shake. From there the small remote fell from the shelf and landed on his stomach. “Hey Daggett! I found the remote!”, Heffer said excitedly. Daggett grabbed it and backed away from the scientist, “Haa! We got the remote, you Spoothead!”. The scientist smirked, “Go ahead and push it. It'll explode while your brother is attached to it.”. Daggett grew nervous but Heffer spoke up, “Oh yeah? Our friends are already going up there to save him!”. The scientist's eyes widened, “What!!”. Daggett nodded, “Yeah! Guess you're too stupid to notice that there's four of us!”.

From the top Rocko and Filburt snuck behind the scientist to see him still holding Norbert hostage. “Just you wait Pete. My brother knows how to spoil your plans too!”. Pete rolled his eyes, “Sure he would.”. Norbert frowned, “Don't underestimate him. He's smart too, you know.”. Rocko looked at the machine and noticed a small switch next to it. He looked at Filburt and had an idea. “Filburt I may need to use your shell for this.”, Rocko said softly. Filburt looked at him in shock then frowned, “Oh no you don't. I just polished it!”. Rocko frowned, “You owe me a lot Filburt. Remember last time when you and Heffer recorded me nude?”. Filburt groaned, “Still not over that? Ugh fine.”. He soon took off his shell and gave it to Rocko, “Don't break it Wallaby.”. Rocko nodded and aimed at the switch. He needs to wait until the right time comes. At the bottom Daggett and Heffer looked at each other and nodded. Daggett ran out of the parking lot and aimed at the roof. He noticed Norbert hanging by the edge and grew more nervous. He knows Rocko will be there so he needs to trust him. Heffer ran up to him while holding the scientist, “You ready to push it?”. The scientist yelled, “You fool! You'll kill your brother!!”. Daggett frowned, “I trust my friends! They'll save him!”. He pushed the button and the van exploded. At the top, the machine beeped quickly which gave Rocko the signal. He kicked the shell towards the switch and it immediately let go of Norbert. Rocko then ran and jumped off the roof, just in time for the machine to explode, to try to catch him. Norbert was staring at him in panic as Rocko tried to reach out to him. Normally he would panic but Norbert was the only one on his mind.

Daggett and Heffer watched and panicked. “They're not going to make it down safely!!”, Heffer yelled in panic. Daggett looked at Heffer then his clothes and hatched an idea. “Heffer, I need you to take off your overalls!”, Daggett said as he climbed on the tree. Heffer looked at him confused, “What!? Are you crazy?!”. Daggett shook his head, “If we use your overalls, it'll be like landing in a trampoline but more springier.”. Heffer grew nervous but agreed. They both tied the overalls to the tree and got out of the way. The scientist however ran off when Heffer let him go. Rocko then grabbed onto Norbert and held him close, “I got you!”. Norbert held onto him tight as Rocko then glided to the side where Daggett and Heffer tied the overalls at and they both landed on there. They sprung out of the outfit and screamed. Daggett winced, “Too tight.”. The couple then landed on the runaway scientist and were shocked at the convenience. Rocko was still holding onto Norbert and looked down to see an unconscious scientist. He then held Norbert's face, “Are you ok? No scratches?!”. Norbert held his hands and smiled, “I'm alright. Are you ok?”. Rocko shook his head, “Who cares?!”. Norbert raised his voice a bit, “I do you Spoothead!”. He then kissed his head and they both held each other.

Daggett then yelled out while running towards them, “That was Nuts!!”. Heffer also yelled out at the same exact time, “That was a Hoot!!”. They all looked at each other and began to laugh hysterically. Filburt then walked towards them with security behind him, “I brought security. Where's the other scientist?”. Norbert looked under him, “Over here.”. The security went up to him and took the scientist away. The five friends then smiled wide and cheered. Norbert then hugged his brother, “I knew you could do this!”. Daggett was happy yet still a bit hurt by the argument. Norbert then spoke up, “Before I get interrupted again I need to explain this. I don't know what made you think that I'll be better off without you, but that's the spootiest thing I ever heard. You're my little brother. Sure you may annoy me, but you always help me be more myself. I don't think I'll ever be happy without you. You always help me understand who I truly am. Without you. I'd probably kept my true self locked up.. Without you. I wouldn't have met Rocko and become a better brother. Which also explains how I feel about the break up. After the breakup between me and TreeFlower, I realized that it was best for me and her to stay friends. If no one is going to respect my little brother, then why should I stay with them? I know TreeFlower and the gang never really see eye to eye with you, no matter how hard you try to be friendly. So I haven't felt comfortable with being with them while you Have to be alone. Yes TreeFlower never tells me to ditch you, but I know she didn't like you that much because of how you are. But after I met Rocko and explained everything to him. He never agreed with what I've done in the past and preferred you to be respected. Now I know Rocko is very respectful and friendly which is why I've been wanting him to be your friend! Because he respects and sees you as a friend even though you're weird!”. Daggett was surprised at this and Rocko nodded in agreement. Heffer then spoke up, “We see you as a friend too Daggett! You seem fun to hang out with! And you saved Rocko and Norbert!”. Filburt nodded, “Yeah and any friend of Rocko is a friend of ours too!”. Daggett smiled at this, “Really?”. Everyone nodded, “Yes!”. Daggett then laughed, “Well. Why don't we all go out for snacks?”. Heffer smiled wide, “Now you're talking!!”. They all piled inside Rocko's car while Rocko walked over there with Norbert. “I hope they become best friends.”, Norbert said, a bit worried. Rocko kissed his cheek, “Don't worry. I'm sure they'll be best friends.”.
