who else misses season 2 Sweet Pea, Fangs & Toni?

I feel like they’re too Northside-ish now... I want the badass gang back! They’ve gotten too friendly with the Northsidere, and I kinda don’t like it. 100% agreed Sun. My own personal headcanon is this:

The only reason both Kagome and Kikyo could be up walking around at the same time after Kikyo's resurrection is because Kikyo only took her pieces of the soul that she shares with Kagome. In other words, Kikyo took all of her anger and hatred as well as all of the things that made her, her and everything else belonged to Kagome. Souls that have been reincarnated grow with each incarnation. They don't stay the same.

The word "soulmate" doesn't necessarily mean their literal souls are mates. Personally, I don't think Kikyo and InuYasha were in love to begin with. I think it was a companionship of convenience. Kikyo saw InuYasha as a way to live a semi normal life and InuYasha saw Kikyo as the first person who gave him any kind of positive attention after his mother and equated this with love because he didn't know any better.

However, Kagome showed InuYasha the first true affection he'd received after Izayoi died. She cared for, and then loved him, unconditionally. She loved all of him, especially his demon parts. She never asked him to change. In fact, she desperately tried to convince him that he was perfect just the way he is. She made him a better person simply by being around him and showing him that not all people are cruel. She gave him kindness and affection which he had never had before her.

On the flip side, InuYasha showed an already strong young woman how to be even stronger. He taught her how to use the strength she already possessed. They worked together flawlessly from almost the moment they met, despite them saying they hated eachother at first. Their strengths only grew when they were together and their weaknesses became less noticeable.

Kikyo was never InuYasha's soulmate.
