All three routes are important, and they build on each other in sequence. There's a reason you're locked into playing them in the order Saber (Fate) -> Rin (UBW) -> Sakura (Heaven's Feel)! Hollow Ataraxia is a complicated situation that follows up on all three routes of Stay Night, and is the timeline that spinoffs like Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II and Fate/strange fake adhere to. The closest to come earlier afaik would be the bath scene in Plastic Little which arguably maybe counts as an aquarium (that aired on Mar 21, 1994; Sailor Moon S started airing on Mar 19, 1994). That being said, the subtext in it is quite thin, and they don’t really look at the fish (like the bath has an aquarium ceiling that is extremely high, not sure you could meaningfully see the fish) so it doesn’t count for much.
