FO: Virus Post Shawl

...in the shades of fall.

Look at me dusting off those poetry skills :D But I know my writing is not really why we are here.

This week I sent off a finished object for an exchange. The recipient has received it now, so I can officially share without spoiling the surprise!

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft 100% Acrylic - scraps, but I'm pretty certain we've got "Gold", "Pumpkin", and "Autumn Red" here.

Hook size: 5.5 mm

I love the colors selected - they are so bright and happy and they definitely remind me of the colors changing on the leaves of deciduous trees. Once the colors start to turn, I love driving aimlessly through the countryside to enjoy the shift. It's truly beautiful.

Made a really nice heated rice sock with an old rainbow tube sock that I've worn 5 maybe times in the decade I've had it. Clean sock, rice, dried lavender (that I harvested and dried myself!), green cardamom, chamomile, raspberry leaf. Should've been amazing. Tell me why I nuked that shit and it smells like feet

I would. I have thought about it. I simply haven't yet because I don't want to ask my sister to borrow crochet hooks. And I am satisfied enough for now with my sewing and those projects :)

Today, I made it to the last corner on Simply Woven! The quilting isn't complete just yet, I still have a lot of threads to bury and have to check for any big gaps that need some additional quilting, but for the first time, I can actually imagine this being a finished and usable quilt!

I've learned so much while working on this project and once it's done, I'm excited to give those skills a test on other quilts!

!!! I’d like to learn! I do some fiber arts—cross stitch is my favorite, I sew casually (I’ve done both clothing and quilts and misc in the past), have done some latch hooking, and I technically know knitting basics. But I have yet to sit down to actually learn crochet

I’ve tried once or twice, but I was like 9 and preferred knitting at the time because I thought it made more sense. The only thing holding me back is my sister started to get into crochet for a minute (though I think she’s kinda fallen out of it), so the most logical thing to do would be to just ask to borrow her hooks and yarn (because I gave her all my yarn) and I simply. Have not worked up the will to face that yet
