slowly, lightning begins to treat you a little more kindly. she doesn't want to hurt you anymore, the opposite in fact!

lightning grows protective of you, scaring away anyone who dares to get too close to you! she'll mess them up so much that they don't dare approach you again, isolating you from the people around you

lightning can't admit that she's in love with you, but she can make sure nobody else gets to have you!

Day 19. Snow x Reader: 99. “Run.”

Snow isn't one to back down from a challenge— this time it was a stupid competition between you two while playing a chocobo racing game on your couch. He was sure he’d win, but you are undoubtedly the better gamer here and you elbow him as you blast off at the speed of light, driving past him while cackling victoriously. 

“Oh, no you don’t!” he groans and gets ready to have his revenge. He grins, knowing this would be the way to defeat you.

“Shit, run!” you scream at your chocobo, “jump! do something!”

“Are you letting me win this easily?” he asks with a cocky tone in his voice. You see from the side of your eye how he winks at you, earning a scoff from you.

“You think I’m that easy to win?” you reply, feeling the heat in your cheeks and you notice how his gaze lingers on you slightly too long, causing him to hit a wall in the game, “I thought you were trying to win.”

“Maybe I need to use something else to distract you,” he thinks out loud.

And suddenly you are pinned against the cushions of the couch and he is hovering over you, while you try to play the game with one hand on the controller. “H-hey, this is not fair—” you protest in vain as you try to decide where to keep your eyes at.

He lets chuckles, leaning in to ghost his lips over yours. The noises from the game tell how far you have fallen in the race, but you swallow hard as he slowly traps your attention and body underneath his. 

“Snow,” you exhale weakly and you feel his brush against yours temptingly, fire burning in your core. He returns you his trademark grin and you never thought before how weak he makes you, until now.

Then, he suddenly pulls away, “looks like I won.”

“Wh—what?” You are still recovering from the sudden jump on you; your heart is pounding against your chest like it wants to escape and blood roars in your ears. 

“Sorry,” he says with a boyish charm and winks, “can’t have you winning every round here.”

You hit him with a pillow, receiving an “ow!” in the process. 

“Oh, you better be careful next round,” you lick your lips as you sit up and finish the course— the last spot reserved for you. The rest of the evening goes on, full of mischief and sabotage.

Author's Note: This is my first and last time writing for Lightning. <3

Lightning wasn't one to go out or hang out much. She didn't deserve to have happiness. She didn't deserve to feel that way. She had failed. She had only one task, and that was to protect her sister. She could have done better. She should have done better. She was still holding on to her past when she met you. You had helped her. You helped her to move on. She became more emotional, more open to speaking, and less distant than she had once been. You were there for her when she needed you the most. You took good care of her, and she hoped that she could do the same for you when that time came, if it ever did.

It took a few years before you guys became closer, and eventually, you asked her out on a date. She accepted. It was your first date, and things had gone well. You had both grown closer together. The date was coming to an end, and you boarded the elevator together. You pressed a button, taking you to the bottom floor, but the elevator stopped. You were both trapped. Alone.

“Maybe it'll start up soon.” She said calmly.

Her calmness helped to ease your anxiety.

“Maybe, although I don't mind spending the extra time with you.” You said with a smile. She couldn't see it, but she smiled back.

“Really?”

“Of course! Why wouldn't I?”

“Well… I honestly didn't think that you liked me like that.”

You felt your face heat up.

“I have, for the longest time. There's things I wanted to do with you…”

You said with your voice trailing off. You didn't know why you had said that. You shouldn't have said that.

“Like what?”

“Well,” you said, and then you cleared your throat.

“Show me?” She said with a slight eyebrow raised. She was curious to know what exactly you meant.

You stepped closer to her, and you placed your hand on her waist. She looked at you. Her hands raised up to gently place them on your cheeks. You kissed her, and she kissed you back.

“Are you sure?” She asked.

“Yes, do you want to?”

“Yes.”

Your hands reached behind her and slid the zipper down, unzipping her dress. She stepped out of it while you worked to remove your clothes. You stepped closer to her, and your hand reached down to rub her clit. She let out a moan and tilted her head back. You moved in and kissed her neck. Her hand rested on your shoulder while her other hand reached to stroke/rub you. You bit your lip as your fingers continued to rub against her clit. You slipped a finger into her, and she let out a small gasp as her hand worked harder and faster on you. You let out a moan as you began to cum. She soon came as well. She breathed slowly, doing as she had been trained to do years ago. She didn't want anyone to know what had just happened in the elevator. You both worked to find your clothes and slip them on as the elevator lights came on and the elevator began to start up.

“I'll see you again?” She asked as she looked at you.

“Yes, you will.” You said with a smile.

She smiled back and stepped off the elevator and into the night.

How many works do you have on AO3? 24 on one account, 43 on another. (I'm telling you, I'm juggling two hyperfixations.)

What's your total AO3 words count? 201,385 on my reylo/haladriel account, 123,964 (100k redacted because of a fic-turned-novel publishing deal) on my Final Fantasy/JRPG/anime account.

What fandoms do you write for? Currently, Tolkien (Rings of Power with touches of Silmarillion) and Final Fantasy XIII (fine, @shadowmeowth, accept that we're more or less co-writing now, FINE).

What are your top five fics by kudos? - A reluctant compromise (reylo, force bond smut) - Whatever It Takes (reylo, WIP that will probably never be finished, I'm so sorry) - The Wolf (reylo, post TLJ-smut) - You'll Be Mine (reylo, force bond smut) - se vis pacem, para bellum (haladriel, John Wick AU) I was on a roll with the reylo force bond smut there for a while.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I didn't use to until about half a year ago. Until then, I didn't see writing fanfiction as being a part of a community the same way I do now. I recognize most of my commenters now, so it feels more natural to turn the comment section into a place for dialogue. (Yes, anyone-who-have-commented-on-a-fic-more-than-a-handful-of-times, I do remember you and I'm always happy to see you come back!)

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? This made me laugh, because in a different lifetime in a different fandom (okay I'm talking hope/light 2012), I was called "the Queen of Angst". I was still struggling a little with writing in English, so I relied a lot on the same kind of writing that you guys see from me today in my ficlets. Short, straight to the point, and packed with emotion. Easy way of getting around that little issue of, you know, not being able to describe things. It's hard to choose from those, but I remember people being really upset about this one: - The nameless soldier In this fandom, most of my ficlets are pretty angsty, but I think this one might be one of the most tragic: - but still the door is closed

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think Four Hours a Day wins the race here, even if se vis pacem, para bellum is a close second. Four Hours a Day might be the only fic I've written that's pure feel-good.

Do you get hate on fics? Back in the FFXIII fandom in 2012, that was just your everyday morning news. The shipping wars were ruthless. Pretty intense from time to time with reylo too. I've only gotten hate twice in the haladriel fandom, and one of them made me laugh so hard because the thing they decided to dunk on was actually taken straight from John Wick.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, yes I do. It used to be limited to M+ territory, but I managed to cross the threshold into proper E with Four Hours a Day. I've always been more intrigued by sexual tension and buildup rather than the actual mechanics, but I'm in an experimenting phase.

Do you write crossovers? If so, what's the craziest one you've written? Do I even have to say it? I'm going to say it: se vis pacem, para bellum. John Wick x Rings of Power x some Silmarillion. When I first got the idea, I thought it was so bizarre that I would probably be its only reader. I was proven wrong. Good times.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes. A lot of FFXIII fics were scraped and reuploaded on a different site a couple of years ago, but we managed to get them removed.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Yep! The fic that I later rewrote into an original work was translated into German and French, and one of my reylo works have been translated into Russian.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have. I wrote a scene together with @youwearfinethingswellwriter a couple of months ago, and I'm currently in some kind of symbiotic writing relationship with @shadowmeowth.

What's your all time favourite ship? I can't choose between haladriel and hope/light. I just can't. I've got two hyperfixations and neither seem to be willing to let me go. (And one of them has had a hold over me for 13 damn years.)

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Definitely Whatever It Takes. I didn't have an outline when I started, and then the project just grew too big. I knew, ish, where I wanted it to go, but I didn't know how to get it there. I'm really sorry about abandoning it though, because I had so many lovely followers. (Fun fact: I actually got to apologize for that, 7 years later, when one of those followers started commenting on my haladriel fics. The reylo/haladriel venn diagram is a circle.)

What are your writing strengths? Thanks to the editors I worked with when I got my novel published, I learned a lot about writing action scenes and how to control the pacing. I'd like to think that at least some of it stuck. I'm also good at writing short. It's not necessarily an altogether positive thing, but I do know how to get something across with as few words as possible. (Oh, the things you do to avoid describing things when you're writing in your second language.)

What are your writing weaknesses? Second. Language. Writer. My prose is efficient, but it will never be pretty or effortless. And I'm really, really slow.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Unpopular opinion? It's a pet peeve. If it's already established that a conversation is held in a certain language but written in English, there's no need to add phrases from that language to the dialogue. For me, it just makes it look like the characters were speaking English all along. Just... pick one. Full translation or plain English.

First fandom you wrote for? Final Fantasy XIII. Never left.

Favourite fic you've ever written? It's a tie between se vis pacem, para bellum and Four Hours a Day. Para bellum was a four month commitment. I followed an outline from start to finish with barely any alterations at all, and it turned out exactly as planned. 4h/d was the complete opposite. I got an idea, and then I wrote the whole 12k monster of a one shot in like two days. It reawakened my love for music, and I still reread it sometimes when I need to get a music kick. Damn. That was a lot. My usual suspects seem to have been tagged already, so I'm leaving that open. Thanks again!

The Last of The Real Ones - Noel Kreiss x Fem!Reader Pt 9 - Finale

I had this whole series on hand for quite a while now, not sure if I wanted to post it or not, but here it is, obviously. I also had considered an alternate end to this, but I feel like this one suits the series better. Plus I never finished that alternate end. 

Also, tagging this thing is a pain because of xiii vs 13 and 13-2 and ugh. So many different ways and I just wanted Noel fans to be able to find it!

Part 9: That Ultra Kind of Love

                The sunshine warms my face and I can hear the singing birds in the distance, or rather, I can hear the hungry chocobo. As I approach the corral, I can see them all crowding the gate like a feathery rainbow.

                “Yeah I’m workin’ on it!” I shout. “I gotta check on Mama first!”

                They continue cawing at me as I head for the barn. There’s only two other chocobo in here. The black one leans over his gate to nip at my hair.

                “Ow! Okay! Go help yourself!”

                Once his gate is open, he trots to the feed for breakfast. I fill a large bowl with the mix of feed and open the second stable. The golden-colored female huddled in her nest greets me with a soft caw.

                “Morning Mama. How are the chicks?” Her feathers ruffle and three adorable little birds pop their heads up. “Oh they hatched!” Mama eats while I coo over the newborns until another squawk interrupts me. He ruffles his feather, satisfied with his breakfast. “Okay, I’m coming.”

                I leave the mother in peace and fill the wagon with feed. Once it’s filled, I hitch it to my partner and he pulls it out to the corral for me. Breakfast is served; the peace is restored to my little farm. However, I’m running low on food for the people, i.e. me. It’s time for my weekly trip into town.

                The town is calm and people are happily going about their business. I get plenty of greetings and waves, known to most of the townspeople for my chocobo farm. Outside the grocers, I clip the bird to a post.

                He caws. “No you can’t go in with me.” I get another one. “Yeah, and I got in trouble last time.” That ruffles his feathers. “Look, you behave and wait here and we’ll discuss Sylkis greens later. Got it?” That appears to appease him.

                “Mornin’,” the owner calls.

                “Morning. How’ve you been?”

                “Not bad. But I had a strange gentleman come lookin’ for you the other day.”

                I pause my search of his apples. “What?”

                “Yeah. Brown hair, blue eyes, looked like he came from some tribe. Told ‘im you came into town every Wednesday.”

                “Huh. Must be looking for a chocobo.”

                “I don’t know, but listen, you can hide out in the back if you want.”

                I shake my head with a smile. “No, thank you though. Not like anyone’s gonna mess with me with that black bird following me everywhere.”

                “No kiddin’. Thank you for not bringin’ ‘im in this time,” he guffaws.

                A hand meets my face. “Again, I’m so sorry about that.”

                Picking out my groceries, I can’t help sifting through faces of people I’ve met but no one comes to mind. It’s just as I finish paying for my groceries that I hear a ‘Kweh!’ outside. Bursting out of the little store, I find a surprise. My steed busy socializing with a stranger, grooming his hair and nuzzling up to him. There’s no doubt this is the stranger I was just warned about.

                The man stops laughing when he spots me and there’s a weird vice in my chest when those clear blue eyes lock on me.

                “I found you…”

                The vice grows stronger. I feel like I should know that voice, like I should know him, but I don’t. Something about him screams familiarity and I have to consciously think about not tackling this stranger in a hug. I push it all to the back of my mind.

                “I’m sorry, what?” He quickly becomes flustered. “I heard you were looking for me.”

                “Uh, yes! I...” He takes a deep breath. “My friend Serah told me about you. You raise chocobos right?”

                That doesn’t seem like what he wanted to say. “Oh, you know Serah? I haven’t seen her in a while. How is she?”

                He smiles. “She’s doing great. Still working on her degree.”

                “Good.” I wave to the black chocobo. “So I see you already met my partner. You interested in chocobos?” I ask, loading my groceries into the saddle.

                “Yeah. It’s been a long time since I rode one, but I was thinking about getting back in the saddle.” He slaps a hand against the back of his neck, looking a bit antsy. “Um, are you…busy right now? There’s a shop just down the road. We could get something to eat.”

                Did he just ask me on a date? I find myself incredibly drawn to him. “Well I was shopping for food for the week, but I guess it can wait.”

                A grin blossoms across his face and I feel the blood rush into my ears. “Great!” He offers a hand. “I’m Noel by the way.”

                I shake his hand, unable to fight my own smile. “It’s nice to meet you.”

21. How old were you when you first played a video game?

Well, if you count Mathblasters, Reader Rabbit, Solitare or Minesweeper - I played my first video games around age 5 or 6.

If you don’t, I started with playing Playstation and Dreamcast games when I was around 8 or 9 yrs old. My first ever games were the original Sims, Lara Croft, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and Crazy Taxi

28. Which character’s clothes do you wish you owned the most?

My aesthetic is Soft Butch Gay (lots of flannel and graphic tees lol - and fitted blazers w jeans) but I don’t know any characters that share my fashion taste so I’m gonna ignore if I would ACTUALLY wear it (or have the body type for it) and just list my fav outfits.
