I haven't even seen your page for a total of 20 minutes but I saw FF7 and Bloodborne and a neuron ACTIVATED. literally struggling to resist the urge to infodump about my ff7 Bloodborne AU RAAAHHH

Ahshs, that’s dope!! I’m lowkey shocked to find another Bloodborne-FF7 person because for the longest time, it was me and one or two other people that would sometimes draw comparisons in the Bloodborne tag, but I was freaking out over some of the similarities between these games and wanted to talk to someone about it.

FF7 is yassified Bloodborne???

(Alright, I’m kidding but it’s like if Bloodborne had bright colors and flowers and cyberpunk stuff or something, idk).

Can you tell us about that Bloodborne/FF7 AU? Like, do you have ideas about it that go further than "what if I drew THESE characters in THIS aesthetic and made it look awesome"? (Apologies if you already have something about that, I just looked through your tag and only saw [incredibly cool] art.)

Well, even if once I had some ideas, I don't remember it anymore :D So I don't want to disappoint you, but yeah, it's really all about aesthetic (I think Vincent looks good in a hunter outfit :D)

This is such a lovely ask! Thank you!

My first proper fandom interaction on the internet - when I already knew what fandom was - was Final Fantasy 7. Which, yes, I'm still interested in, it's making a hyperfixation comeback lately.

I do have ocs! Quite a lot, really! But the ones I mostly post about are Stanna Dashi (my star trek oc) and Dumah (my bloodborne oc). If you wanna check them out, you can go to my blog's "my ocs" tag. Or check them out on my art blog @isahasarts

And on that subject, something I made that I was proud of is my Star Trek AU with Dashi. I made it so I could make some representation for disabled people, and it got a lot of support. It really warmed my heart.

Something that made me smile this month was the return of my FF7 special interest, but also the fact I got into a new game (Genshin Impact). I'd been kinda deprived of hyperfixations for a while, and it was making me depressed. So the fact I now have two really helped me.

Stuff I did in 2017

I’ve seen these floating around so I decided to join the crowd and put up my own! ... But I also suffer from the fact that I don’t organize my things that well and I have almost no idea of when I actually finished a lot of things so I’m going off when I posted them... So I’m probably going to miss a few things.

January: January consisted mostly of things from my Bloodborne AU sprinkled with Remnant fluff such as An Advent Divergence and An Ocean View. I do enjoy indulging in my rare pairs ^-^

February: February mostly consisted of working on Letters of Longing and Regret with two BB AU pieces sprinkled in. LoL&G was my second venture into this kind of format and I’m still happy with it.

March: I finally finished FFXV and wrote my anger filled thinkpiece on Ravus Nox Flueret; The Crownless Prince of Tenebrae. There was also a Frosted Earth fic and another BB piece.

April: This was the month I finished The Fantasy AUs Monstrousity (I’m only certian about this date because I uploaded the Closso piece in as separately). Two more BB AU fics.

May: May consisted only of a Frosted Earth fic and preparing for Strifesodos Week 2017.

June: June of the month of Strifesodos Week and I definetely participated. I was apparently in an agnsty mood when I wrote them because only one of them is a  happy fic, Keep Breathing’s got it’s hopeful ending but it’s far from a happy thing.

July: July was my first time participating in a fic exchange and I presented these three to the world; A Touch of Kindness, A Meeting at the End of the World and A Life That Might Have Been.  There were also a few NSFW fics in there as well as a character-centric FNAF thing for some reason? I dunno, inspiratoin’s weird and I don’t get it. I also started Strife of a Failure.

August: I wrote my Bad End AU An Unexpected Shift, which is self-indulgent and I can’t wait to get in the mood to write the next thing from it (I was bouncing ideas off a da friend and now I have an idea). I also wrote my first Closso Soulmate AU, A Bond Forged in Battle, because I adore them.

September: I took requests for some NSFW works in September, because I’ve been trying to improve with writing smut. I think it worked out pretty well, I like Feinting Normality and A Regretful Relapse.

October: I did some Kinktober Prompts for a FFXV pairing I enjoy, got back into writing for my KH crack ship and wrote Snowbound Happenings for the Spook Ficathon 2017.

November: A slow month; I wrote a Frosted Earth fic and finally decided to post Progression of a Relationship. I don’t remember when I finished it but this is when I posted it so here it goes!

December: Decmember consisted of three KH fics and NSFW fics. Two for the 2017 FF7 Secret Santa and An Advent Continuation and Jealousy for the Cloud/Yazoo pairing after I watched Advent Children again.

And of course I’ve been adding to Strifesodos AU all year round becuase open-ended AU collections are a great place to get ideas when I want them.

If I can write the mess I affectionately called my FF/BB AU, you can do anything you set your mind to.

Boy, and my idea is probably a bigger mess. I mean, my ideas of a strifesodos fan sequel of my favorite fic involves with:

-My “Raison d’etre” headcanons.

-Few OCs (no, none of them will be paired up with canon characters, as I plan out some OCs with each other only). But these will have an important roles, especially their connection between the surviving Gods, Sephiroth, and the new antagonist.

-plus this headcanon, that you’ll learn more about the whereabouts of the surviving Gods, especially what happen when the WEAPONs were destroyed and what happens when the “Alpha” will be involved.

-How my version of FF7′s Gilgamesh played a role in this fic, along with his connections with the “Champions”, especially how Cloud and Genesis has some connection with Arthur and Merlin.

-where Jenova’s originated, along with Jenova’s connection and relationship with Erebos and ”The One with Many Names”. (Lovecratian Horror ahoy! Thanks to my friend’s inspiration from that, and Bloodborne)

-While Sephiroth already serve his role as an antagonist that wants to become God or such, there will be a new antagonist that wants to fulfil the role as the “Devil” (hint: It’s not an original character, it’s the character that only appeared in one of FF7 Compilation’s JPN exclusive game). And how he and the new antagonist have some connections with Lucifer and Michael.

-Themes inspired by “Faust” and “Paradise Lost”

-The Ending that is both good for the main characters and both mankind and the planet; normal for the Gods and the Deceased within the Lifestream; bittersweet for Angeal, Gilgamesh, and some important OCs, especially Dante Ashcroft (Genesis’ true father) and Neil Strife (Cloud’s father); and maybe tragic for Sephiroth, the new antagonist, and both the damned and unfortunate souls in the Event Horizon

and many I might list later.

have you ever read surrogacy by silentsaint? its also a bloodborne/ff7 crossover and ik you're into that so. possibly a rec?

i went to go read this the moment you told me about it- it IS fantastic as a Standalone Fic (tm) but as a local Bloodborne enthusiast, the lore discrepancies bring me physical pain. I did laugh at Kadaj being the doll tho. 10/10 would recommend.

FF7 Bloodborne AU Masterpost

Because I'm bored on a train and need a place to infodump.

If you know Bloodborne lore, then you know where this is going. If you don't, then welcome! I'm going to try and explain the lore as clearly as I can, but there's still things I want to point out:

1. Some of the lore will be changed/removed/added in order to fit the AU so don't take everything I say as solid Bloodborne lore.

2. Even in canon, Bloodborne lore is very confusing and convoluted. If you have any specific questions about the lore, feel free to ask and I can elaborate to the best of my ability!

The ✨Lore✨

Something to elaborate before I begin: In Bloodborne, there are two realms. The Waking World and the Dreams/Nightmares. If you die in the waking world, your soul will still remain in the Dream/Nightmare if you're connected to it. This will help explain a lot of things later because a lot of characters "die" without actually dying because their souls are in a Dream or Nightmare. ANYWAY

Midgar used to be a great and prosperous city that was the pinnacle of scientific development for its time. It's downfall began when it discovered a Great One; one of the Eldritch deities who oversaw the world. Great Ones cannot reproduce with each other so they turned to the humans of Midgar for help. Specifically, they found a Great One known as Ebrietas, who was literally just.... Chilling in Midgar's basement, basically.

Anyway. Some of the aforementioned humans discovered that the blood of the Great Ones has healing properties, and thus an ambitious student known as Rufus founded the Healing Church. The Church took the blood of the Great Ones and spread it far and wide. Everyone loved it so much that practically everyone and their mothers drank it.

The problem was that the blood in question was cursed. Anyone who drank it would slowly and painfully be turned into a horrific beast. This is how the beast plague started, also known as the Scourge. Rufus quickly realized his mistake and asked a man known as Gehrman to begin hunting the beasts around the city. Thus, the Hunters were founded.

However, even with his help and a few other hunters, it was too much to handle. Midgar's lower city was closed off and a new city was built called Yharnam. Midgar became known as "Old Yharnam" and only few remember its original name.

Around the same time of all this happening, a school known as the School of Mensis, run by Hojo, was trying their damn hardest to communicate with the Great Ones. They kinda succeeded, in a way, when the Queen of Yharnam became *impregnated* with a Great One's child. Remember before when I said Great Ones can't reproduce with each other so they turn to humans? Yeah.

Unfortunately the baby died, but Hojo was so obsessed with it that he basically astral projected himself and his students into the Nightmare that was "hosted" by a literal invisible baby. I cannot make this up.

Meanwhile in Yharnam, the Old Hunters are struggling to keep things under control. Some are fighting the beasts, while others are trying to do research on how to stop the Scourge. Lady Aerith, one of such Hunters, and her group managed to discover a Great One on the beach of Yharnam known as Jenova.

And what did they do to that Great One? They beat the shit out of her so hard that her consciousness in the astral plane also died. Jenova, before her dying breath, cursed the Blood-drunken Hunters to be sent to a Nightmare where they would hunt beasts for the rest of eternity. Fun! The only thing that survives of Jenova is her unborn child (which is for later).

As time passes, things get only worse. Everyone who had a slight position of power was trying to communicate with the Great Ones. All while this was going on, the Scourge infected Yharnam Big Time, to the point where "the night of the hunt" becomes seemingly never ending.

Lady Aerith dies along with many of the other Old Hunters, and they're sent to the Hunter's Nightmare to forever conceal the Hunter's dark secret. Gehrman, the first hunter, distraught with Aerith's death, creates a doll that looks identical to her. (It's creepy I know.)

A Great One known as the Moon Presence approaches Gehrman and makes an offer; he can become the host of the Hunter's Dream and continue the Hunt, as long as the Hunters in question kill other Great Ones that could be a threat to the Moon Presence. Gehrman agrees, and the Hunter's Dream is created and the doll of Aerith comes to life. A new era of Hunters begins.

This is where our cast comes in :)

The ✨Characters✨

The "Good Hunter" Genesis Rhapsodos: Our main character of the story. While not nearly as old as the Old Hunters (<- capitalized), Genesis is still a widened Hunter. His main hunt is usually prowling around Central Yharnam, but after the situation in Yharnam only gets worse, he moves past Central Yharnam to hunt through the rest of the city.

Angeal Hewley: Another wise hunter who is married with two children. Unlike Genesis, Angeal preferred mostly to stay home rather than Hunt, but the two were still practically unstoppable when they Hunted together. Other Hunters tend to refer to him as "Father Hewley" since he's the only Hunter with children. Unfortunately for Angeal, however, he's not immune to the Scourge. Day by day he loses a part of himself until he's more beast than man, and Genesis is forced to kill him.

Cloud the Crow: A young man with a completely concealed face who belongs to a faction known as "The Hunters of Hunters." His job is to find blood-drunken hunters and put them out of their misery sooner rather than later. He doesn't stick around and is seldom seen, but he speaks with Genesis every once and a while to give advice. A Hunter must Hunt.

Zack Fair: A young Hunter who was very close with Angeal. Notorious for using the most impractical forms of Hunting but somehow still making them work. He was oblivious to Angeal's madness and was enraged when he found out Genesis had killed him, believing that Genesis was the one that had gone mad.

Gehrman: The First Hunter and the host of the Hunter's Dream. He's very reclusive and doesn't speak much to his Hunters other than to give some mysteriously vague advice here and there. (I couldn't think of a good FF7 character to replace Gehrman so he's just the same.)

Lady Aerith: An Old Hunter who died but remains "alive" within the Hunter's Nightmare. She defends the door to the Fishing Hamlet, where Jenova's corpse on the beach lays.

Hojo "Micolash": A "teacher" who's goal is to recreate a Great One after communicating with them. He is the host of the Mensis Nightmare, the home of his extensive studies and insane ramblings.

Orphan of Jenova: Mercy for the poor wisened child. The sole offspring of Jenova who still lives despite his mother's passing. He remains on the Fishing Hamlet's beaches, seldom seen by others. People who have seen him refer to him by the name Sephiroth.

Remnants of Sephiroth: Yes I added them despite them not fitting into the lore at all. I don't care. One day, a Great One (who shall remain unnamed for now) came down and delivered her triplets into the Mensis Nightmare. She quickly abandoned them however, seeing that the Moon Presence was trying to kill other Great Ones. The triplets were then taken in and raised by Hojo, the latter hoping they would grow up to be Great Ones themselves and give him the answers he sought.

Anyway yeah I think that's it! Like I said, if you have any questions about the lore n shit, I'm happy to answer with more in depth descriptions. I know this is all very confusing upon first seeing it but I promise that's how the game itself feels when you first play it. It'll make sense in time.

Thought I'd finally get around to this since I've been here for a hot minute.

My name is Nellie. I use they/them pronouns.

I've been in the FF7 fandom for over a year now and I thought I'd finally join the community on Tumblr since I've heard it's pretty chill here!

Other than FF7, I'm also into the rest of the FF series, as well as Bloodborne. Which you will DEFINITELY see me posting about since I have an FF7 Bloodborne AU.

I'll mostly be posting AU content and shit posts. With some doodles here and there.

My ask box is open for anything you want to say, whether it be suggestions, questions, etc etc. I'm particularly open towards posting headcanons about the Remnants of Sephiroth since they're my favorite!!
