Di turismo e misticismo
Premessa

Okay I am on an Orre kick lately and so it is time to tell you about my thoughts on if Orre had a Pokemon League
I don't have the gym leaders figured out yet entirely, but I do have eight locations for gyms in mind and where the Pokemon League itself would be featured. I'll list some names for potential gym leaders of each area too from pre-existing characters only. Should note this is working under the assumption of being set sometime after XD, so unfortunately The Under is inoperable.
Also, there wouldn't really be an order of which gym to challenge. You think the governmental structure of Orre is organized enough to let that happen? They probably can barely cobble together a list of who is a recognized gym leader and who isn't.
So with that, here is the list below the cut:
The Gyms:
Phenac City
Okay so this one is kind of a gimme answer because there is literally already a gym there of sorts. There's really not much to say other than obviously Justy is getting the promotion he deserves of being an actual official gym leader. The type of gym could be a toss-up of Ground, Water or Grass given the multiple environments inside of it. If not Justy, then perhaps bring back Trudly and Folly as double gym leaders like Tate and Liza, or even potentially have a triple battle with Bluno, Verde, and Rosso for a Fire, Water, Grass core.
Gateon Port
It is tradition to always have a port city host a gym in Pokemon, and Orre would be no different. I feel like pulling an Olivine would be fun, except this time have the Lighthouse actually be the gym itself as opposed to just where you find the gym leader. The typing would most likely be Water given the setting, or possibly Steel even given the machine shop. Some potential gym leaders could be Miror B since he performs at the Krabby Club, Perr assuming he's still helping at the machine shop and his position in Kids Grid/ONBS probably got him some cred, or maybe if he turned over a new leaf, even Zook.
Pyrite Town
We are continuing the train of the obvious choices, don't worry, the weirder ones are saved for the last few because unsurprisingly, Crime The Region doesn't have many actual towns. I feel like Pyrite would probably convert the Pyrite Colosseum into its gym, or perhaps they could go salvage a part of The Under and use its remains for it. For gym leaders, the first one that comes to mind would be Cail given that he calls himself the gatekeeper of Pyrite. Other potential candidates would be Duking as the unofficial leader of the town, Silva, who Duking left in charge of Pyrite Colosseum, or even Agnol, the Deep King of the Deep Colosseum who odds are was likely a part of Cipher. Potentially even Reath and Ferma to do the double gym leaders act like Trudly and Folly. The trainers of Pyrite actually are all pretty varied in type, so you could take your pick with any of them here. Potentially Rock or Ground simply to represent the history of the mines.
Agate Village
The last of the actual towns in game, Agate with its cliffside and waterfall and the forest and cave leading to the Relic Stone provides a good handful of locales to host a gym. Maybe there's another giant tree around we didn't notice aside from Eagun's house and something like White Tree from Pokemon White could happen. For types, a lot of the trainers use Pokemon who share a typing of Bug or Poison, and of course the obvious potential Grass motif. As for potential gym leaders, there's the obvious pick of Eagun himself considering he is the only significant NPC who lives there, and if so he's still sporting that Pikachu making him an Electric leader. Other than him, you could potentially have Rui make a return as gym leader. Or I dunno, bring back Skrub the peon. Early internet meme days all over again for the Skrub Lord.
Eclo Canyon
Probably more commonly remembered as the Team Snagem Hideout. Perhaps not the strangest idea really, you could refurbish the blown-to-smithereens base into a nice sized gym, or perhaps some kind of multi-faceted company building or factory. For a gym leader, you have any of Team Snagem members in Gonzap, or the three main grunts in Wakin, Biden, and Agrev. Clearly, all of them end up being capable battlers if you can fight them at such high levels in the post game colosseums. Along with them, you could have Wes himself here as a gym leader, but I feel like if he was involved in the League at all, it would either be as Champion, chairman, or more than likely just not involved with it at all and disappearing into the desert, and serving as a potential superboss in the post game. Aside from him, potentially bring back the imposter Fein, acting like Wes once again only to reveal it wasn't him at all and you just got your hopes up. As for types, uh, I dunno, Steel or Poison I guess, that was Snagem's MO.
Cipher Lab
If it hadn't been taken over by Cipher yet again by now, I feel like this lab would probably be converted into a proper research facility by the governing body of the region, or perhaps become an extension of the Pokemon HQ Lab. As for who the gym leader would be, assuming that all former Cipher members are arrested, the next best choice could be Chobin who might have gotten a better job here instead of working for Kaminko. Aside from him, there is of course Ein or Lovrina, though I think even if all Cipher members weren't rounded up by now, those two would definitely be ones put behind bars for crimes against Pokemon. Though some Cipher members who might work, and bear with me, could be the Hexagon Brothers. These six bumbling fools are definitely not there in scientific capacities, and odds are they most likely are more hazardous to the research being conducted anyways. However, having six different type specialists there would probably serve as great resources for research data on certain Pokemon. They could be a collective gym leader like how Cilan, Cress, and Chili were in Unova, and perhaps depending on the day or other external factors, that determines which one you face for the badge. If not them, more than likely this place would be an Electric gym.
Pokemon HQ Lab
Speaking of labs, the Pokemon HQ Lab I also think could potentially serve as a gym for one specific reason. If there ever was a "first gym" to do in the game, it would most likely be here, specifically because of the Battle Sims system. With that being what is supposed to serve as a tutorial system, I could see it easily being converted into an advanced challenge for beginning trainers, where if you can defeat it and win a badge, then you could probably face any gym. While yes, Realgam Tower is where the advanced Battle Sims happen, I have a different purpose in mind for it that you can probably guess. This way you technically don't have to have anyone be the gym leader at all, the computer itself already is. Though I suppose if you wanted a physical named NPC in charge who could potentially provide a final battle, there's Professor Krane, Lily, Jovi, and of course Michael himself. Unlike Wes, I could actually see Michael being more likely to be involved in the League as an opponent, and if not in the Elite 4/as Champion, then here as a Gym Leader. This gym probably wouldn't have any one type if Michael was the leader except for maybe Normal because of Eevee. If not, then again perhaps Electric, especially if Jovi was the leader with her Plusle and Minun.
Cipher Key Lair
Our last gym is the former Cipher Key Lair, that creepy pyramid now being converted into the world's most off-putting office space. I imagine if Clay ever had a gym in Orre instead of Unova, it would have been this. That aside, I feel like you already have a potentially cool gym challenge based on the exterior. Move those stones around and create a mini labyrinth to get inside, and then begin the ascension to the head office building just like before. Only instead of Gorigan awaiting you at the end, you have someone totally different. Some potential candidates are Zook again here instead of at Gateon Port, or perhaps Eldes since unlike Greevil and his brother Ardos, it felt like he became a better person by the end of XD. Potentially if you wanted to upgrade the ONBS station/former Kids Grid again, move them from Pyrite to being based out of here, and you could have any choice of Nett, Megg, Bitt, Secc, Marcia, or Perr if you move him from Gateon to be the leader. As for type, like Pyrite there really isn't any one choice here, perhaps Normal, Ground, or Fighting.
The Pokemon League:
Realgam Tower
So this was probably obvious, but Realgam Tower is just the perfect location for a big finale. Piercing the skies, a symbol of greed, avarice and the arrogance of humanity, having played a role in a couple crises in Orre already. Now though, it has been purified itself, becoming the home of the Pokemon League. The colosseum in the sky, standing high above the rest of the region, is the perfect place to have the final gauntlet of the gym challenge.
As for who runs this joint, I have a couple ideas, none of them fully concrete. For the Elite 4, I was thinking about a handful of candidates, such as Willie, Cail, Eldes, Miror B, Agnol, Eagun, or any number of Area Leaders from Mt. Battle like Vander or Battlus/Somek. Potentially could have it consist of a mixture of the other past Cipher members as well, like Dakim, Lovrina, Nascour, or maybe even Gonzap.
As for the Champion, I feel like it just would have to be either Wes or Michael. More than likely it would be Michael, simply because I do not see Wes wanting to have all the focus on him, let alone stay in a pretentious place like Realgam Tower all the time. Though considering there was the beta concept of Wes being the second leader of Cipher instead of Greevil, I suppose that is entirely possible. You could still very easily make Wes the leader of Cipher version three, and have him be the champion on top with all the money in the world with the betting battles and the casino below. Either way, it could work.
As for whichever of the two of them isn't Champion, then I feel like they would be the superboss of the game. Perhaps you could travel back to Citadark Isle and find them back at the top of the old Cipher HQ and square off with them. After beating them there, you would unlock them as the final gauntlet of the Orre Colosseum, which still is the criminal underworld final challenge not regulated by the League. Away from the public eye in the middle of nowhere desert, just battling for the sake of battling.
And those are all my ideas right now! I had some other potential location ideas such as the S.S. Libra, or perhaps recreating The Under and using the subway, or the Outskirt Stand. I am still formulating a bit of a story in my head, but if you have any thoughts of your own, I would love to hear them!

Old vs. New: Pokemon Colosseum vs. Pokemon XD
Which is better, the original or the sequel?
GRAPHICS: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
MUSIC: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
GAMEPLAY: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
WORLD: The Orre region is the setting of both games, a desert wasteland full of scum and villainy, and no wild Pokemon.  Between the desert there’s the beautiful Phenac City, the gritty run-down Pyrite Town, the rugged Mount Battle, the lush and peaceful Agate Village, the literal criminal underworld known as the Under, and the high-elevated Realgam Tower. It’s all very atmospheric and unique for a Pokemon game. Sadly, in XD, Orre has gotten tamer.  The greenery from Agate is spreading, there’s now a regular Pokemon lab with a professor, a seaport with communication from other regions, Pyrite Town is cleaned up and the Under has been shut down, and it all just feels safer and more conventional for the Pokemon series. The only truly foreboding place introduced in XD is the volcanic Citadark Island where the climax transpires, but that’s not enough to offset the disappointment. Advantage: Colosseum.
STORY: In Colosseum, a member of Team Snagem named Wes discovers a conspiracy to take over Orre and ultimately the world by the Cipher organization, which involves messing with Pokemons’ minds and turning them into vicious “Shadow Pokemon”.  This is too evil for even him, so he quits his life of crime, joins up with a girl named Rui with the psychic ability to identify Shadow Pokemon by their aura, and the two of them set off to stop Cipher’s plan by stealing, er, “snagging” Shadow Pokemon so that they can be purified.  In XD, a boy named Michael starts work under Professor Krane and inadvertently gets drawn into fighting against a resurrected Cipher’s new plan for world domination, five years after their defeat in the original, and the same snag and purify Shadow Pokemon antics unfold, though Michael uses a scouter-like device instead of a psychic sidekick. The sheer lack of originality in the sequel’s story really drags it down. Colosseum’s plot feels a lot fresher. Advantage: Colosseum.
GOOD GUYS: The main character of Colosseum is Wes, a former hood who cruises around in a vehicle with his trusty Espeon and Umbreon, plus his female friend Rui. Wes is badass, with a cool, almost sinister design befitting of a former villain turned roguish anti-hero, and Rui also has a cool design and a likable personality. Their allies include police chief Sherles of Pyrite Town, Rui’s wise old grandfather Eagun of Agate Village, and the Kids Grid of the Under. In XD, the main character is a simple boy named Michael, with allies including his mother Lily and annoying sister Jovi, his mentor Professor Krane, the wacky Dr. Kaminko and his wacky assistant Chobin, and surprisingly enough the boss of Team Snagem, Gonzap. Personally, I think the heroes of Colosseum have more charisma to them, and their struggle seems much more worth investing in since they are battling against the odds and lack all the resources available to the cast of XD which evens the playing field. Advantage: Colosseum.
BAD GUYS: The incarnation of Cipher in Colosseum is brilliant. There are a variety of peons and hired thugs to contend with, some of them even standing out like the male duo of Folly and Trudly, and the female duo of Reath and Ferma. The Cipher Admins include the comedic starter villain Mirror B., who is a truly bizarre and memorable presence, and the more dangerous Dakim, Lady Venus, and Dr. Ein, each carrying one of the three Legendary land Pokemon of Johto. The leader of Cipher’s activities is the terrifying Nascour, while the true boss is the equally frightening Evice, whose public front is Mayor Escade of Phenac City.  XD’s roster is less impressive - the peons are usually way more comedic than they are intimidating (there’s even a Sentai squad of them!), and while the Admins Gorigan, Lovrina and Snattle are cool characters, they don’t have the same edge as their predecessors. Worst of all is the leader Greevil, now retconned to have been the true boss all along, who lacks the convincing front Evice put on and is obviously evil from the minute you see him as “Mr. Verich”. He is so ridiculously evil up to the ending where he has a sudden, unrealistic change of heart and turns himself in, resulting in a big anticlimax. His bodyguard sons, Eldes and Ardos, had potential, but they sadly aren’t very well developed. Advantage: Colosseum.
PLAY VALUE: Colosseum, being the story mode to a bigger game, is shorter than XD, but this gives it much more replay value. XD is more one-and-done. Advantage: Colosseum.
At a score of 8 to 3, the winner is Pokemon Colosseum!

I am a total nerd of Team Miror B. and have been attempting to return to a Miror centric blog with tons of headcanon tacked on to the fabulous display. Seeing this blog and all its love for Orre makes me desire to come forward and ask: What are some of your major headcanons regarding Team Miror B? Their dynamics? Their motives? Their true goals? Their personalities? Tell me all! I want to know!
Hmmm well usually I like to make headcanons that stem off of what could be seen in the game. In Colosseum, Trudly and Folly are only half of Miror B’s original posse. Ferma and Reath was the other half, but they are absent in Pokemon XD for some reason. Needless to say, Team Miror B was far more powerful in Colosseum than in XD, but that was because they were still serving under Cipher.
In Colosseum, Miror B. is an enthusiastic overseer who’s hubris was always his weakness. Trudly and Folly are loyal members of his posse who have stuck with him for years after Colosseum, but at the cost of becoming a nomadic tribe of three for an unknown period of time. The two were last seen hiding out in the Mayor’s office in Phenac City after escaping Pyrite Town’s jail, while Miror B. is last seen in the Deep Colosseum, hiding behind knockout challenges with the rest of the Cipher Admins. Even more obscure than them however, Reath and Ferma were left hiding out in Miror B’s old hideout in Pyrite Cave, driving out the optional boss fight with Mirakle B too.
At some point Miror B. must have reunited himself with Trudly and Folly after escaping to the surface, or Trudly and Folly must have searched and found Miror B. themselves. Given Miror B.’s style of dancing alone, it’s a likely possibility that they found him first before or after the Under was sealed. We don’t know where Reath or Ferma could have gone, but neither do we know about the rest of the admins. We only know that Evice and Nascour were likely sent to a prison as stated by an NPC in XD.
In XD it can be seen that Miror B. tends to do his own thing like a loose cannon. More often than not, Trudly and Folly struggle to keep up with him and his antics, so much so that they even made the Miror B. Radar to track his whereabouts and be warned when he surfaces again. But when they immediately lost the radar, they had to work double time to keep up with the agile boss.
Despite their loyalty though, it would seem Folly was starting to see the folly of their boss’s dream at some point during their escapades in XD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trudley stays loyal to Miror B.’s dream, but Folly seems to make sense of the futility of actually attempting to own all the Pokemon in the world and worries about his own future if he continues following Miror B.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite this, he continues to remain loyal to Miror B. down to the end and beyond once the last Shadow Pokemon has been snagged. Folly is obviously the more reasonable of the group while Trudly isn’t as easily phased by such logic.
With every Pokemon they managed to get, they seem to be only capable of nabbing the Shadow Pokemon Michael failed to snag initially. Though it could be attributed that Miror B’s Jumpluff, Shiftry, and Non-Shadow Sudowoodo were caught Orre’s improved Wild environments in XD, the Pokespots.
One hilarious detail around Miror B, he geniunely believes his dance will bring around all the Pokemon
Tumblr media
I don’t have a screen, but if you encounter Miror B. at the Oasis Pokespot, Trudley or Folly will tell you not to disturb Miror B. as he dances to summon Wild Pokemon to his presence. You will also get to know that they occasionally have to eat some of the Poke Snacks people leave at the spots because they get so hungry and are usually low on money.
Listen, if you have ever watched the Pokemon Anime as I have back when I used to like it (long time ago), you can easily compare the Team Rocket trio to Team Miror B. here. Whatever menace they were when they premiered is long gone, and they are seen more as those dastardly Kid’s TV show villains you can’t help but love and relate to on some level. They travel together, one of them is the mascot and brains of the group most of the time, they struggle together and clumsily lose most of their progress in whatever mission they have but they are still close as the three musketeers. Even in failure they remain together in each other’s support. You can definitely compare Team Miror B to the anime’s Team Rocket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Miror B. may have only wanted to dance to an audience all this time. He is ironically the most useful character in XD for catching what Michael fails to Snag the first time. Odd that he would be able to get these Shadow Pokemon so easily, but given how the Purify Chamber works with upbeat tempos and a rhythm with Pokemon in their own “party” of sorts surrounding a Shadow Pokemon affecting them with pleasant feelings to open their heart, it could be theorized that Miror B’s own music and dancing was what attracted these feral Shadow Pokemon to him in the first place. Miror B’s dancing and music might have emulated what the Purify Chamber provided on some level, But how could they know that the Pokemon they were catching were Shadow Pokemon in the first place? Neither Miror B, nor his posse, have an Aura Reader or some girl with clairvoyant sight. To them, Miror B’s dancing really did bring Wild Pokemon to their fold unbeknownst to what they were actually catching.
Though they probably did realize at some point that they were catching runaway Shadow Pokemon. Miror B and Folly raided the Cipher Key Lair to obtain the last authentic Shadow Pokemon, Dragonite, knowing full well what it was. And took the time to celebrate on Gateon Port’s lighthouse for their powerful catch from the remnants of the syndicate they used to work for. They celebrate their small victories together even though their losses greatly outnumbered their gains.
That is what I think of these three. Miror B. is ambitious and his dreams are as big as his afro. Trudley is loyal, so is Folly but he can’t not think about the repercussions of the future. Though as of where he last saw them, they seem content staying at the Krabby Club.

Oh my god, I asked, and you delivered with the biggest, brightest, shiny bow on top!
There’s so much to take in here!!
Glad to see that we can agree that Miror’s biggest weakness is his own hubris. Common as it may be, it’s my favorite weakness to antagonists like this.
I’ve always wondered whatever did happen to Reath and Ferma and just assumed maybe they were just smarter than Trudly and Folly in the sense that they saw fire and jumped ship. Their smarts was stronger than their loyalty to Miror. Folly showed signs of wanting to do the same in Gale of Darkness, in contrast to Reath and Ferma, his loyalty is strong. (or maybe snatching up that Dragonite gave him hope that maybe Miror’s plan is legit after all?)
I honestly never once thought about the ‘how’ aspect of Miror B. encountering the Shadow Pokemon until you brought up the correlation between his music and dance, and the mechanics of the Purification chamber.
This headcanon has a lot of potential…
I really like the “Old School” Team Rocket Trio comparison with Team Miror B. as well. Defines them pretty damn well in a lot of aspects (or at least with what little we canonically have of them). Everything from how they can potentially bounce off each other to their tenacity to keep trying towards whatever dumb goal Miror B. has in mind this month.
It’s nice to see someone else’s perspective of this group, particularly someone who really holds onto the canon. I’m the kinda person who just uses canon as a guiden and takes off from there with my own path, pretty much turning the group into a very morally grey and confused dysfunctional family at this point.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I was not expecting such a long post!
Keep the music playing, baby!

Trudley stays loyal to Miror B.’s dream, but Folly seems to make sense of the futility of actually attempting to own all the Pokemon in the world and worries about his own future if he continues following Miror B.

Miror B. may have only wanted to dance to an audience all this time.
