The funny thing about Izzy stans attempting to strawman people who are critical of them is that, for every thing they accuse them of hating Izzy for, there's at least one other character that shares that trait with him and, for some reason, isn't nearly as controversial (who knows why!)

Honestly, we should be blaming Stede for all this. If Stede never called him Iggy and homewrecked him he wouldn't be nearly as much of an unpleasant bastard (affectionate) and people wouldn't be trying to revoke his gay card over it.

what i am looking for

stede wearing colorful clothing, dresses, and other feminine outfits

stede being fastidious about his appearance or belongings

stede using gender non-conforming language to describe himself (non-standard pronouns, use of feminine nouns or descriptors. example from my own headcanon: him as preferring to use the term "wife" - both because he's GNC and also because "i wasn't a good husband. i might as well give this a shot instead.")

stede verbally describing himself (or others referring to him as) as "femme", "feminine", or other synonyms. or, by contrast, stede verbally rejecting the notion of being viewed as masc (example from fic i read once: "you look so butch" "oh please! i haven't had time to change yet!")

stede, well, being femme. there's a lot to the identity that can't be easily summarized. but being protective over ed and crew, being unabashedly catty, being very dramatic, and so on. old queen behavior. (cursed suit episode is a beautiful example of the last two, his mannerisms and dialogue and such. the fuckery episode from season 1 as well.)

what i am NOT looking for

"forcefem"/"feminization"/"gender play" (basically: femme treated as kink instead of identity. if he Has Sex While Femme that's one thing, bc femmes do have sex! but if the fic is like... weird about it? like that the femme stuff is JUST for sex? nuh uh. not gonna work.)

gender bending/rule 63 (i'm looking for fics of effeminate gay man stede, not woman stede)
