The Historical Dictionary of Science Fiction's appendix of fandom terminology with citations dating back to at least the 1900s--yes, the modern concept of fandom goes back at least that long. Some highlights:

Con crud (1990): a mild congestion frequently felt after attending a con from being around a whole bunch of people

Faan (1953): someone more interested in participating in the fandom than in the actual media the fandom is following

Femmefan/femfan (1940): a female fan, back when the assumption was that most fandom participants were male. According to the citations they also considered the term "fanne" but too many dudes kept pronouncing it "fanny" (keeping in mind the British meaning) and Nancy Share, a fandom celebrity that probably invented the word "filk", tried to make "firl" a thing (on analogy of "fan" = man so "firl" = girl)

Another fun bonus is that if you look at those ancient zines you can see a phonetic nerd jargon, weirdly similar to modern online language
