for once i actually have a carry on wip to share! i've been in a bit of a fanfic slump recently, but @carry-on-sapphic-week is coming up and i want to write something for it, so here is some fem!snowbaz, which i haven't written in a very long time!

The class ends and Simone is mercifully handed a robe, though the way it hangs off her shoulder is nearly enough to finish me off. I pack up my supplies with my eyes firmly fixed downward, which is why I jump so hard when she speaks right beside me.

“You’re good at drawing hands.”

“Really?” I answer before I remember to sneer, and my words come out sounding disconcertingly sincere.

She nods, “everyone else is rubbish. Devi hasn't even attempted it, my arms just end at the wrist.”

Six Sentence Sunday

a rare post from me!! i've been doing some work for CORB as well as drawing casually on the side. however, for a few months (very sparingly) i've been working diligently on a WIP.

tl;dr it's a housewife baz (married to lamb) with mailman simon, need i say more.

The mail lady is here, and she’s just the woman I wanted to see.  I school my features and slink up to her, cocking my hip. I make sure it’s the side with the slit, to give her a good view of my leg.  Her jaw is completely dropped, and honestly she looks like she’s about to start drooling. I walk a little closer and put my finger under her chin, closing her mouth.  “Darling, mouth breathing isn’t a very good look on you, wouldn’t you agree?”

Every time I look at my WIPs (you know, the ones I keep avoiding by finding other short projects to work on) I think “wow, no one is ever going to read this girl”

(for the people who came here thanks to the social media au, my WIPs are a fic centered on Natasha and Malcolm and a fem!Snowbaz fic where they’re childhood friend in which i want to share their story from childhood to adulthood. Both ideas are very dear to me and that’s why I’m always excited to write them but when I think about POSTING them… all I feel is dread. my ego’s too fragile to handle a flop😔)

Six Sentence Sunday

Yesterday I got to go to the Pennsylvania Ren Faire to hang out with @katatsumuli and @thewholelemon (and meet Little Lemon, who's the one that made my gorgeous banner!). It was so much fun!! I don't think I entirely believed Simon when he described the wild variety of outfits people would be wearing. It was like Halloween. Total costume chaos.

I took the train there and it was the perfect little mini writing retreat. I wrote OVER 2000 WORDS for Who Are You In The Dark, which is A LOT FOR ME!! I'm restraining myself and sharing just six sentences of this incredibly fun scene (which is the one I blogged about needing to research nail polish colors for earlier!). Agatha POV, and I bet you can guess who the first line of dialog belongs to:

Hey, I bet we could do manicures with magic! I turn my head so she can’t see me roll my eyes. “Great idea, Pen,” Si says. Then she holds up a dramatic, nearly-black nail varnish with a grin. “Oh, hey, this one’s Wicked! That’s my colour!”

(I was so ticked that there's a nail polish color called "Wicked" although it really gives me more Baz vibes. That's what happens when you choose based on the name, Simon...)

Oh and ICYMI, Chapter 3 of WAYITD is up now! It's over 10k and I am dying to know what people think about the last scene...

Rosebud Girl

I never thought it would be an art class that finished me off.

I had hoped it would be a bit of stress relief, a creative outlet sorely needed between my real classes. It’s at a community centre on campus, a short walk from my morning law class. I should have just stuck to football, and said fuck creativity.

I’m good at it, I’ll admit. I gave my step father one of my still-lifes for Christmas, and she loved it. Actually loved it, not just pretended- he hung it up. He doesn’t even keep my little siblings’ finger paintings up on the fridge for more than a week.

But now we’ve moved on from fruit to figures, and the table in the centre of the room has been replaced by a model. A nude model.

Six Sentence Sunday

I should just stop using the 'Six Sentence Sunday' title. It's never six sentences (I won't)

I worked on three projects this week, so here are three extracts!

Carry On - Fem!Snowbaz, childhood friends

Simone

“If I was my uncle, I wouldn’t want to live in my hometown.”

Baz’s words make me frown. “Why?”

“Because you can go anywhere else. Why stay where you grew up?”

“Because your whole life is there?”

“And the whole world is out there!” she exclaims, waving theatrically. “It’d be a shame not to explore it.”

“I agree with Baz,” Penny says. “I can’t wait to go to university to live in a different city.”

“Wait, you guys really want to leave?” I ask, uneasy.

“I do not want him to be an option. I do not want to think… that it is possible. That I might be able to be in a relationship with him.”

“You are so strange. It would be good for you and for your image for you to be in a relationship.”

“I know… But I’m scared. I want to have him, but I don’t want the press to have him, you know? I want to protect him from that, at the very least so our relationship can develop without that pressure, but what is the point in a relationship if all we do is hide? And everything that has happened with you only proves that the press will blow things out of proportion,” I say, gesturing at him. 

Under the table, my leg is bouncing. I hate it. This isn’t me. (Another reason why Malcolm Grimm scares me. He’s a disturbance.)

Laurent unceremoniously wiped his hand on Damen’s chiton. Damen’s mind was too fogged with lust for him to care in the slightest. Laurent could very well have wiped his hand on his face and he would not have cared. They had not been close like this since before everything fell apart. Since Vere.

“I am sure to never listen to your advice again if this is what I get for doing it,” Damen whispered, the content smile on his lips changing the sound of the words. 

“Maybe next time I will use something else on your cock,” Laurent answered, in that too-sweet voice that Damen knew meant danger. For Laurent’s enemies, anyway.

He looked at him teasingly. “Your mouth?”

“I was rather thinking of a knife. But if you wish for my mouth, I suppose my teeth will do.”

Laughter exploded from deep within Damen’s belly. In his amusement, he pulled Laurent down into a hug, holding him tightly.
