Hi!!! I'm finally graduating!! Decided to design my cap based on my favorite Kirby game (KSSU) and my fav part from it!

Everything (apart from the beads) is feltwork! I've been trying it out recently, and I love how simple and fun it is lol

This is freaking me out because I've seen and purchased very similar modern feltwork. If you told me you'd bought this bird from a roadside stand in Kyrgyz I would not doubt you for one second, and I would show you the felt swan I purchased at a roadside stand in Kyrgyz.

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird from the Altai Mountains of Siberia (c.400-300 BCE): crafted with a felt body and reindeer-fur stuffing, all of which remains intact

This artifact was sealed within the frozen barrows of Pazyryk, Siberia, for more than two millennia, where a unique microclimate enabled it to be preserved. The permafrost ice lense formation that runs below the barrows provided an insulating layer, preventing the soil from heating during the summer and allowing it to quickly freeze during the winter; these conditions produced a separate microclimate within the stone walls of the barrows themselves, thereby aiding in the preservation of the artifacts inside.

This is just one of the many well-preserved artifacts that have been found at Pazyryk. These artifacts are attributed to the Scythian/Altaic cultures.

Currently housed at the Hermitage Museum.

RENFAIRE HAUL!!!

Y'all I know this seems like I didn't buy much but the financial decisions were not great today 😅

Longer post with backstory things so cut 👍 (also a Bones tw at the end so there's you go)

#1: technically didn't buy these! These are from the Trinket Trade! (Note: Trinket trade isn't a set thing. Some people just bring things to hand out to other people and nothing is expected back. I usually bring my own trinkets to hand out or trade but I was short on time this year) I got 2 handmade Eyes Of Ender and a tiny duck!

#2: there is a shop here called Richard's Web. It's run by a local theater troupe and sells a variety of handmade items, most notably crochet spider plushies. This is my newest Richard

#3: from Skiddlyrumpus, the feltwork toy shop, this tiny ladybug as a gift for my mom

#4: Dice Shop!!! This is a few pieces from a gorgeous metal set from Dice Goblinz I get to add to the dice bag!

#5: Honoring this tradition I mentioned earlier

From the armory is a Damascus steel short blade! I am out of space on my bookshelf to hang it so I have to find a new plan for that lol

And finally #6: from the bones and horns shop (if you aren't okay with seeing animal bones here's your warning and it's the last thing on the list)

Felt cat update!!

I felted him a bit more and now his fur is more dense!! Still haven't gotten to sewing in his eyes, but he looks pretty cute if I do say so myself! :D
