Jewels of the day!! 💫 My family threw a citrus-themed brunch for Mother’s Day and this is what I wore. My antique paste rivière from @fellowsauctions is utterly perfect when flanked by my @larkspurandhawk earrings and green @jyjewels necklace. This trio delights me because not only are they visually stunning together, they’re like a jewelry history timeline: both the earrings and the green necklace were inspired by the era of the antique paste necklace I’m wearing in the middle. I've been meaning to ask - how can a tiara also double as a necklace? Do they get mounted onto something?

Yes, they get mounted on a metal frame.  There are different ways of attaching it but they usually use clips or screws.  I’m going to link some videos because they do a much better job of showing you than I do trying to explain it with words.

The Fife Fringe Tiara uses tension which is pretty cool.

Princess Charlene’s Ocean Tiara looks like it snaps on and off the frame but they only show it for a few seconds at 2:40.

This one kind of slides on and off the frame.

This one happens really fast but it screws onto the frame.
