hello!! me and a few friends are looking for some pjo zines/events to join, but most of the ones we're finding (like yours!) have already ended or closed apps-- so i was wondering if you might know any that are still open? if not, thanks anyway!!

Hi there!

Unfortunately, we don't know if there are any currently open. However, I've had a decent amount of experience searching for and keeping track of active zines, and have a few tips for you:

1) Follow zine feed blogs! These blogs keep track of what zines are running, and are often tagged by zines for more attention. They're for general zines, but PJO zines should pop up. Here's a list of some common ones (some of them may no longer be active, as it's been a few years since I've followed them): @/fandomzines @/zineapps @/zinefans @/zinefeed @/atozines @/all-zine-apps @/zinecenter @/zine-scene @/zineforall @/zinesubmissions​​ @/zinesunlimited​

1.a) Find a zine (doesn't have to be PJO) that's closed and see if any of their reblogs tagged any zine feed blogs (the ones I listed above are a good starting point, though, and often overlap on many different zines, but it's worth looking for any I may have missed).

1.b) Find PJO zines and see if any of their reblogs tagged any pjo-specific zine feed blogs, as those exist, too.

2) There are two blogs I know of that promote big bangs and fan events in general (Secret Santas, reverse bangs, big bangs, and so on), so you can follow them too: @/thebigbangblogproject @/faneventshub

3) (You've probably done this one already, considering this ask but) Find PJO zines that are still in their active stages (content creation period, or even sales/left-over sales) and ask them if they know of any pjo-zine specific feed blogs you might be able to follow. Or if they know of any upcoming zines (other other fan events) you can apply for soon.

4) Follow the PJO zines you've found, even if they're closed (again, in content creation or sales or shipping, etc.), because they may promote other upcoming PJO-themed zines. This one's not a guarantee, but it has happened before. Though, do check the date of when their left-over sales were (if they've gotten past that stage). If it was like two years ago and they haven't posted anything else since, they're probably not going to promote another zine.

5) Look for mods who have modded for multiple zines (and/or are currently modding) and follow them, if they're on tumblr, because they will often promote the zines they're working on.

are my ideas going to be used in the zine by someone else if i dont get accepted? i have a lot of great ideas that id like to write eventually, but i dont want to go all out listing them on the application if someone else is going to use them if i dont get in..

What you send us in your application form will be confidential. We aren't going to disclose any ideas people may have during the application phase with our future contributors.

HI SO IVE NEVER ACTUALLY MET ANYONE ELSE WHOS HAD OR LIKED SALTED BAGELS???? obviously they wouldn't stock salted if no one bought them but my family is literally the only people i know im my whole life who like salted bagels this is life-changing

Oh my god I love salt bagels so much. My mom introduced me to them, she used to always get one when we went to the local Big Apple Bagels when I was a kid and to this day the owner still checks his stock when we walk in the door LMAO.

you also have to consider that there were loops where they would split up to search for the light, or one of them would die early on so they wouldn't see each other for a year. even just considering the ones we hear in the podcast, it's the beach year and legato observatory-- two years with very minimal danger, death, and searching-- where their relationship is brought up and actively progresses.

this is true but also (imo) falls prey to the trap of thinking of years as short and singular things. which makes sense as a way to think narratively because each year had a setting and a scene and each PC took one action per year, but if we're talking about it in a super literal sense,

were there some years where they absolutely, totally, had zero time to talk or reflect? yeah, probably! but there were also probably a LOT of years that were in between relaxed and stressful. where they were going on expeditions but had long chunks of time where they were camping out, waiting, doing stake outs -- just eating food together (even in smaller, divided groups) between these big, stressful moments, because they have to eat.

people do a lot of growing in stressful portions of life. the occasional chance for relaxation probably gave that growth a chance to catch up with them, but you don't need a whole entire year of calm for that to happen!

Synchronized With You - A Good Omens Post Canon Fic!

As promised, here is the baby that has been haunting me since watching Season 2:

Three years after their last conversation – and mere weeks before the Second Coming is due – Aziraphale finds himself in an unfortunate position, certain that he failed on multiple fronts. When rescue unexpectedly arrives in the usual fashion, it’s deceivingly simple to imagine that history will repeat itself, that Earth will be left unscathed, and Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship will return stronger than ever. Except that six thousand years worth of miscommunication are bound to take their toll sooner rather than later.
