I'm been using the wiki to help me keep track what order the dialogue is supposed to go in, and while looking at it,I got reminded that it was during this book they introduced Rokkr Sieges. I remember there was some kind of conversation between Thorr and Loki there. Thank you, whoever manages the wiki for keeping track of this stuff.

I remembered bits of this conversation, but I totally forgot that Alfador was mentioned here. I think it might be the one of the earliest mentions of him in the game. Though what we've seen from Book IX so far, that line kind of hits a little differently now.

since hero's is about to start it's Choose your Legends voting again, I think it would be REALLY funny if Loki came into play this year as a host and made it so the bottom 4 voted units are the ones who get brave alts. Just FUCK with people to go "No-no don't vote for my blorbo!" but in the end it still does the top 4 like every other year and Loki was just gas lighting EVERYONE

In a way though, I'm glad that I dropped it and picked it up again later... like I feel like this isn't even from that long ago (guy who has no sense of the passage of time voice), but the characterization and even design of Moe is so different. The Scrunch and :< face were game changers for it LMFAOOO (also just making it autisticer 👍)

Beyond that I think everyone looks a lot better and closer to how I envision them, esp Loki!

But seriously this is the highest compliment, because this is actively what I’m trying to do when it comes to how I draw Kiran! I really want to convey how unabashedly charming this silly little tactician is. It helps explain how they keep the order intact on a social level and also why this keeps happening:

Yandere! Alfonse who if he had his way his Summoner would never step on a battlefield ever again. He spends hours mulling over ways to get you away from the field and keep you safe but it seems almost impossible. His ultimate conclusion is just to make you his spouse, and a fellow ruler of Askr, so no one can ask that of you. And to keep the idea of you going home a distant memory.

Yandere! Grima who would have no qualms in burning all the other heroes to ash if it meant to get you to himself. But of course the task could prove rather tedious given the amount of fellow gods among the ranks. He instead settles for slowly trying to indoctrinate you into his cult, whsipers ideas into your ears to tempt you into giving him your full devotion. Send those other whelps back to their worlds and simply keep him, as you need no other.

Yandere! Mila purposefully over indulges you. She tells you that you're working yourself far too hard and to come and relax. At first her concern was genuine, but when you do so it's one of the few times she's able to have you all to herself. Her sweet little Summoner, how greedy she became to get you alone. She finds herself whispering sweet promises of taking away all of your worries and stresses if you simply submit yourself to her fully.

Yandere! Loki finds you to be one of her most entertaining past times by far. You'd have no idea that she likes you at all, given that she spends a lot of her time taunting you in the forms of other heroes. But it's part of her affection. To pick apart your psyche using every face at her disposal to understand the best way to get you in the palm of her hands. And it's oh so amusing even when she's the one that causes you that distress how you end up seeking comfort in her arms regardless.

Once again, theorizing about Book IX's plot... I wonder if that suspiciously-Sharena-like person is holding a younger Baldr, since the person in front of her has the same halo, which seems to represent Baldr's special seal skill that makes her invulnerable.

This is, of course, a reference to how, in Norse mythology, Baldr was the child of Odin and Frigg (is that the glasses-wearing woman in the Book's main artwork?) and after him and his mother foresaw his death in a dream, they sought to stop it, with Frigg making everything in creation swear an oath not to harm him...

All save for the lowly mistletoe, which would later play into his death when Loki tricked Höðr, Baldr's brother, into accidentally killing him with a weapon fashioned from it.

Of course, it's not like FEH's books follow the mythology so directly, but it does parallel and take inspiration from it from time to time, so it's worth pondering.

This does lead me to ask who that is who has their back turned in the promo art... the long blond hair with pink highlights of course brings to mind our dear Sharena, but... it could be someone else.

While nothing about her magic skills has come up in the story, besides her holding a tome in her regular artwork, the playable version of Queen Henriette in her Day of Devotion alt has several ominous lines about being careful with her power... which hasn't been elaborated on so far but... would make sense if she were secretly a citizen or important figure from Ásgarðr.

Also of note, Baldr's death is considered to be the starting event of Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and end of the world, which is what the Twilit Runes (and Rune's character) are referencing. Is causing that Loki and Thórr's real goal in FEH? Who is their mysterious master they're serving instead of Álfaðör, as hinted in this book?
