On a weird random whim I finally watched the whole... final fight shebang between Naruto and Sasuke in Shippuden. I was prepared to shed, like, a tear or two for nostalgia's sake and episodes 475-476 honestly sucked so I was like pfffft this is gonna be so underwhelming

But then I got to the, like, minute-long shot of the two trying to land a punch on each other while both verging on uncosciousness that was like, the equivalent of Steven dancing with himself in the SU finale in terms of the animation quality and emotional impact

And now I've been straight up bawling my eyes out for the last hour or so 😅

For real though, the last two episodes were insanely beautiful, legit a work of art. And like, after they finally ditched the demon overlord motherfuckery and resorted to good old-fashioned whoopass, there was a moment where my mind just went "oh, there they are" (which was probably the point that opened the floodgates for me haha). Waaaay back in 2007 (holy shit that's fourteen fucking years ago) I gave up on Shippuden pretty quickly because I couldn't recognize the characters as the same people I'd grown to know and love so much. And now. There they were again. My boys.

So yeah, episodes 475-476 and 477-478 were straight up two completely different anime in every way.

Also, holy fucking catharsis.

Also seeing Sasuke smile. and laugh. and say usuratonkachi

Also that one gorgeously animated closeup of Sasuke's face when he sees himself by Naruto's side hhgghghh my heart is in a million pieces

Also the like. the suspense until the moment their hands were shown holy shit. It was impactful as fuck even though I knew what had happened, can't even imagine what the reveal was like if you weren't spoiled all the way to hell. Superb fucking writing.

also my boys finally talked. They finally had a heart-to-heart that didn't involve a simultaneous fight to the death

Aaaaaahhhh overwhelmed. I'm overwhelmed. I'm so happy I finally watched this. Every other aspect of how the series was wrapped up may have been garbage but this. This. They really went all out on the bromance arc.

Well fucking done.

So, my post-SDCC dash is like -

- and of course I’m happy people are happy, and even if I’m trying not to read spoilers and speculations (I’d rather be surprised), obviously I’ve seen some of them and I really hope they mean what we hope they mean and that next season is going to be this amazing Feelfest they’re sort of promising, but I just wanted to say - if you’re still grieving for those characters who died last season, if you feel let down by the show, if you don’t trust them to finally go there with Destiel or do right by Cas or whatever else - you’re not alone. I know that many of us are carefully navigated our broken hearts in this river of rainbows, so, yeah - we’re here. You’ve still got the right to be upset or annoyed or disappointed, no matter what happens during the hiatus, okay?

No but for real though, the entire end of Ep8 is a feelfest but what really gets me is the epilogue. That moment when Soul of Soul starts playing. The way she just knows instantly. The awkward greeting. Ikuko being such an amazing supportive partner. The almost off-handed mention of Yukari fighting cancer. The last scene. The last scene.

from the one i’ve played so far, favorite gameplay goes to Radiant Dawn, the tough-as-nails maps, the management with both skills and bonus experience, bond supports all add up to one complete package of startegy, just the way i like it! if anything, i wish it had actual support convos

but best story…FE4 maybe? the amount of political intrigue and plotting in that game are unmatched, and it has to most feelfest moments of any FE BY FAR
