A little bit of both, but they were definitely a thing! The entire dynamic between all the Braithen kids is complicated but can be boiled down to “In a better world, in a better time, y’all would probably be one big happy polycule.” sdfgh

Penelope and Leo have known each other for as long as they can remember. Leo's parents were the rulers of Braithen and Penelope's parents were from a set of noble families in the kingdom second only to the crown. Her noble house had historically close ties to the church and her father was especially devout.

There were already talks of arranging a married between them, and thanks to them actually getting along really well growing up, their parents betrothed them to one another at a pretty young age.

There was real love between them, but the pressure of their marriage being arranged caused strife and tension between them as they got older. Penelope especially, she always loved Leo but the lack of choice caused a lot of unresolved pain.

All the Braithen kids ride the line between platonic and romantic love and those feelings shift and change with time. It's hard to put a definitive label on any of it! Especially considering the environment they grew up in made it hard to even recognize the budding feelings Penelope might've also had for Giselle or Leo might've had for Caspian as well.

Leo was a bit more oblivious, and even though he struggled with feeling controlled, he never fully saw the extent to which Penelope struggled. Penelope's father was deeply authoritarian, religious, obsessed with tradition, and ambitious. He treated her like a tool for his goals and didn't tolerate anything he viewed as disobedience.

His misogyny was rampant. Penelope's mother had always been extremely passive and deferential to him. Her own parents marriage along with her father's constant insistence she learn nothing more than how to be a good wife to the future king made it difficult for Penelope accept her betrothal to Leo, afraid she'd become like her mother.

It was always tough because of course they snuck out, of course they had moments to themselves where she felt free, they loved each other immensely. But at the end of the day they'd have to return to answer to their families, they'd have to go back home, and she feared a future where she was stifled even if Leo protested on her behalf.

Him not noticing her feelings didn't help, but she certainly wasn't a slouch when it came to hiding them. On top of that, Leo was preoccupied with his own internal struggles.

His dad was kind of an inadequate king. He wasn't malicious or awful, but he was a little incompetent. His father (so Leo's grandfather) died when Leo was young and he became almost mythologized as this legendary figure, lauded as an excellent king. Leo's father flounders as ruler trying to follow him up.

He raises Leo with a lot of words about the kind of man he should be without offering much in the way of actionable advice. In his naivety, Leo finds himself always striving to impress a man who isn't even sure what he's doing.

All of this culminates in Penelope rejecting him when he shows up in his demonic form. I've been a bit vague but when he's first cursed it's not quite just "imagine a tiefling" sdfghj and more like "eight feet tall, two large sets of curling horns, half formed leathery wings, imposing silhouette." the only thing that stays the same about him are his eyes.

And when he first transforms it is painful. So he immediately rushes to Penelope deliriously seeking help, and when he crawls through a window of the castle at night, he terrifies her. He's incoherent and desperate and before Penelope recognizes him, she takes a nearby fire poker in hand to defend herself.

It's really frantic, neither having much time to really think things through. Her deeply religious upbringing makes her doubly frightened. She sees his eyes, finally does recognize that it is Leo, and in his desperation to make sure she knows it's him he approaches her too quickly.

She knows it's him, but in her fear, she lashes out with the fire poker. She's not aiming for anywhere in particular but she ends up taking out one of his eyes and when he crumples in pain, she flees the room, sealing his curse.

In his pain and anguish Leo, runs through the castle trying to find his parents. Unfortunately uh, his dad sees him, has a heart attack and dies from the shock. After this Leo runs from the castle entirely, fleeing into the night. Leo's no good very bad day.

There's a lot simmering under the surface before this point but this night is the first event that marks the true end of their carefree days as friends.

okay actually as a small little fun fact i do in fact actually have lore for my main los in the case that i ever want to like. make them their own original thing or at least a basic idea of original stuff

which honestly i doubt is going to happen since there's already other original stuff i have that i do want to work on (or. at least finish) but. it is a thought

to summarize the alt lore it's both a mixture of their pmtok lore and then them getting revived again in the modern era except by Coda and Lykos on complete accident. i have no idea where else i would take it atm it'd mainly be a slice of life thing if i had to do anything with it <3 (which is. certainly different from most things i write? but it's a nice change)

okay well i’m not sure what to say about my coloring sdfghj i rarely make new colorings because i suck at it lmao i’ve been using this one sice back door era and it’s pretty much my best one (the one on the gifs). 

when i started out i used psds as samples while trying to recreate them. lately i just mess around with adjustment layers until i like the outcome. usually after a while i try making a new coloring because  i want some change lmao my colorings usually have 20+ adjustment layers, sometimes more. and when i’m in the mood i can spend hours just to create the perfect colors send help

what i usually go for is to make skin color less unwhitewashed but sometimes i go a bit overboard with reds tbh. and also the colors seem to be more lifeless on mobile so i just amp up the reds until it looks fine. and i also prefer a certain matteness to my gifs and i feel like this coloring pretty much does the job. and i tend to make my gifs a bit darker than the original.

*kinda wanted to show some of my edits too because teaser pics and stuff sometimes need much more work because they’re SO white. for example for the middle hyunjin one i combined 15 of my psds and it has 40 adjustment layers lol also the felix one. that one was a struggle to edit sdfgh

2) there's talks of Angel being transferred to Lust. which is professionally a fantastic move. but. that means Alexa loses his husband. divorce? long distance? will they be able to see each other? who knows. he doesn't begrudge a career move like that but he knows he'll at least miss having a good friend around, and the chaos

3) this would be a whole lot less messy if angel & ozzie weren't like. having a THING. they're like. INTO each other.

4) this would also be less messy if ozzie hadn't guested on alexa's show, with the majority of the chat being about the transfer process

5) this would be less messy if they hadn't been invited to Lust for their anniversary. (this is the part where he prayer hands and goes "I'm being invited to spend my one year marriage anniversary. by the man who is SLEEPING WITH MY HUSBAND. no we're not married like ROMANTICALLY but HE doesn't know that!") so. alexa is expecting his one year anniversary to be some flavor of stressful

6) this would be A LOT LESS MESSY if this wasn't so PUBLIC and he wasn't getting CALLS about cuck shit. the cuck jokes were funny before bc like, it was all a JOKE, hes not smashing angel, and anyone else angel may or may not have been with (alexa doesn't keep tabs on his love life) wasn't public and was probably another sinner alexa could fuck up. NOW this is turning into a public humiliation spectacle.

But no yeah he gets it. Only the Radio Demon can make jokes at the Radio Demon's expense. When he does it to himself it confuses people and therefore is funny to him. When OTHER people make HIM a joke that's an outrage and a valid justification for murder. That's how it works.

Well, the way Astor sees it, there's three ways Alexa can handle this that'll eliminate the most important problem here, which *obviously* is the public humiliation aspect.

1. Spread around a rumor that both Angel AND Alexa are sleeping with Asmodeus. Then it's not cucking, it's a wild threesome with the Lord of Lust, and therefore they come out of it looking like an even more impressive power couple.

2. If he doesn't think he can swing the first rumor, then spread around a rumor that Asmodeus OFFERED to them both but Alexa was like nah no thanks. He still gets some BAMF points for "I meet the Lord of Lust's standards but HE doesn't meet MY standards," they're just really weird BAMF points. And it gets around the cucking because it's not like Ozzie & Angel are doing their thing while Alexa is shut out, Alexa CAN join in but doesn't care to.

Option 4 he just thought of: while Angel and Ozzie are wrapping their dicks around each other or whatever it is People Who Fuck do—they're gonna be in Lust, right?—Alexa goes off and rounds up as many succubi and strippers as he can and has a wild party. I really want to start working on a webcomic myself but my drawings skills aren't really up to the task, do you have any advice?

Honestly I think the skill level/”quality” of the art itself does not matter as much as making for a project you have fun working on! I read webcomics of any and all skill levels, it’s the content and ideas of it that matter more to me personally (I know not everyone does the same but still SDFGH)

Regarding a few tips tho! Here’s some:

-Copy pasting backgrounds and other assets is a good time saver and I need to do it more myself -Sometimes photos for textures and backgrounds can work! Just make sure they’re royalty free, a good website for that is unplash, or you can use your own photos ASDFH -Doing comics and stories can be a good way to experiment with art and find out what works/doesn’t work, so sometimes the mere act of just making the comic can help in improving skills! -if doing digital art, a brush that you really enjoy drawing with can make things easier to draw and look more the way you want, in my case I tend to gravitate towards textured brushes and ones that kinda resemble pencil markings, though I haven’t found a brush yet that I feel fully works for me

1. What was the last piece of media that made you cry? Why (optional)?

The final season of She-ra because I’m gay and it’s incredible to be able to see positive representation that is not just subtext. Also the quote “you are worth more than what you can give to people” made me break down for some reason shjkhg 

2. Do spoilers actually bother you or not? Do you ever seek them out deliberately?

I used to avoid them, but in the recent years, since I sadly don’t have the energy to engage with just about anything, I’ll look up spoilers to see if it’s worth it. That being said, I don’t like being spoiled involuntarily. 

3. If you were to describe yourself using a colour palette, which colours would you use?

4. If you were a fictional character, which songs would you want people to associate you with and which headcanons about you would the audiences probably make, based on your life so far?

Probably songs to do with loneliness. Anything from Of Monsters and Men I’d be honoured. People would probably make little random headcanons like “owns 5 ferrets” or “once stole a penguin from the zoo”. Pretty much anything that suggests I’m not actually as boring as I seem sgjkhk

They’d also definitely think I’m a stoner.

5. If you were to design a card or a tarot deck, what pattern or motif would you put on the back of the cards? Would there be anything special about the deck? What would be your inspiration for the motifs?

I may or may not already be doing that and I may or may not have gone with snakes and plants because I’m predictable :^)

I’m still deciding on the theme for motifs, but I want it to be very personal.

6. Are there any songs that you can’t listen to anymore because they remind you of someone or something too much? Would you still choose to associate the song with them if you had the chance not to?

I still listen to the songs, even though it may feel bittersweet. I’ll usually try to distance it from the person as much as possible, so if I had the choice I’d probably wipe my memory clean of the association.

No, not really my thing at the moment.

8. Which/what kind of noises do you find the most soothing? Which/what kind of noises annoy you the most?

Rain and birds singing. I’ll listen to those during anxiety attacks.

I hate just about any loud noise, especially alarms and sirens. And mosquitoes, ofc.

Yes! I love the kind that just makes no sense, really. That uses really unconventional metaphors. 

I especially love the works of Mary Oliver and Neža Maurer, as well as blackout poetry.

Silly answer but lots of the characters from the Ga’Hoole books sdfgh. I was about 10 when I started reading them and they had a big impact on me for sure.

Stan, Bill, and Mike didn't expect the whole club to show up. They just mentioned camping out in the barrens "soon." That's all Bill said, just "soon." 

The whole group was super in sync, though. So, on a chillier-than-average summer night, the three boyfriends found themselves with the rest of their friend group. Nobody was complaining, and Bill didn't even seem to really notice, but Stan and Mike were both wondering how everybody figured out exactly when.

Things weren't out of the ordinary just because there was a change of plans, except for one thing. While there was the group of three, and Ben and Bev, Richie and Eddie never seemed to be open about any romantic sort of interest. It wasn't abnormal for the two of them to be teased lovingly by the other losers, but tonight, it felt different.

When they disappeared later that night, things got a little bit confusing, though. 

"Hey, Bill?" Stan began, only continuing when he had Bill's attention. "Have you seen Richie and Eddie?"

"N-No, now that you m-mention it." Both of them were then looking around in confusion.

The two of them decided to ask the others, receiving 'no's and 'nope's. They all even started to get a little worried, deciding to search for the suspicious boys.

Upon finding them, the collective sigh of relief alerted them. Richie and Eddie were just walking around boredly, and so happened to be holding hands. Richie's first instinct was to hold on tighter, while Eddie's was to try and jerk his hand away. The two of them were both very nervous.

The rest of the night wasn't filled with any teasing or laughter, not any pushing them to admit that they were holding hands because of any particular reason. It was even kind of quiet after that, but they eventually went back to having fun.

Soon enough, the sun was rising; they'd all stayed up the whole night--well, everyone except for Eddie. When they were all lying down, he just dozed off.

Richie felt kind of bad leaving Eddie as the only one sleeping, so he ended up putting an arm around him and falling asleep too.

Watching those two sleep, of course, made the rest of them tired as well. Instead of grouping off into smaller fragments, though, they all just surrounded Richie and Eddie. Stan was between Bill and Mike, the three of them on Richie’s side. Ben and Bev were on Eddie’s side.

Yeah, the night was gone, but any time of day can be night if you’re tired enough.

how so you make your megasix gifs so good? It’s like magic

sdfgh thank you!! idk exactly how to explain but i'll try:

always start with a clear, hd video (at least 720p but 1080p if it’s available) the exception to this with my gifs is the ones from grace’s last show, which i had to download from twitter.

in this mini tutorial thing i'm using this video

i use photoshop and i've never used anything else so i can’t help there, unfortunately.

basically make the gif there are like a million tutorials on how to do that this is just about colouring.

after making it and converting to smart object:

i sharpen it. megasix (and theatre/concert gifs in general) tend to be really easy to over-sharpen. using my normal action makes it way too sharp, so i soften it a little.

these are the colouring layers i use:

the gradient map is black and white and set to soft light, it adds contrast. 50% or less opacity or it’ll look too patchy and messy.

vibrance usually 30-70 depending on the lighting.

levels also adjust depending on the lighting.

colour balance you should add last, but make sure it’s the first layer. in megasixes i use it to balance out the colour of the spotlights.

this is v basic, i would usually tweak it a bit more until i like it, but that’s the basic things i do for all megasixes. i hope this helped, if you have any more questions feel free to ask!!
