decided to fluff out the whole "Honse gets mad at Chrisjen's cradle-robbing comments" premise and here's the Crusader CRD-DMN, piloted by one Diamond Cutter while she's working on a Canopian Pleasure Circus as a weird little FedRat sleeper agent

Was doing a bit of experimenting for these. A very very shiny silver with ork contrast paint over that.

The Idea (because canon is a bit vague on this) is for the all those "oh the NAIS (New Avalon Institute of Science) was working on this new mech" ideas and put them into 1 company. The general idea is 1 or 2 "experimental" or "rediscovered" models paired with 2 well known "guard" mechs to do trials with. It's my head canon for now and I'm sticking with it until there's a official source contradicting it.

In the Battletech universe, there are no good guys.

Instead, you get to choose your flavour of awful.

I, myself, am a Davion gal. House Davion of the Federated Suns are largely modeled off of the French and British monarchies, and are smug, imperialist assholes who deliver freedom by the barrel of a gun.

They haven’t got the biggest military in the setting, or the best equipped, but what they do have is well trained and professional, and they have a magnificent fetish preference for sticking autocannons on ANYTHING they’ll fit on. There is no amount of dakka that is considered too much dakka.

Anyway, all that is to say that I’ve been badging up my mechs lately. I’ve been using very, VERY tiny decals with the sun and sword Davion badge, even if I’m keeping my mechs OD green and not going for the blue, white and red (sound familiar?) parade schemes they tend to go for.

I ordered some Iron Wind Metals micro aerospace fighters and dropships, and damn I did not understand how small they are.

A Productive Day

I had a super productive painting day doing some elemental bases

And some Crucian Militia

It felt so good to get these out of my pile of shame and onto the battlefield! I've already primed the next batch of mecha and I've loved watching my unpainted mini pile shrink.

For one very terrible second I read a tag on this blog as federated sus instead of federated suns.

So called in the Confederation, I suppose, for their incessant plotting and sabotage campaigns. Or, if a cartoonist is feeling immensely jingoistic, as in the scientific name for pigs and all the distaste that comes with the brand.

(Then again, the FedSuns' typical mascot for House Liao on the funny pages is a short man with a comically outsized robe brandishing a big sword, so it's probably even at worse.)

Painted up the Alpha Strike box this week, this time going for the 1st Crucis Lancers as my paint scheme. All of the mechs here were painted this month and I still haven’t played the game!
