voguemagazine While we're patiently waiting for the release of Y/n's album Short n' Sweet, lets go behind the scenes of the 2nd single "Please Please Please"s music video which featured L/n's boyfriend and Three Time Formula One Champion of World Max Verstappen.

"I ended the last video getting arrested, so naturally I thought it would be satisfying to start the 'Please Please Please' video in jail", said the singer. "I liked the idea of falling in love with a convict and being shocked and embarrassed every time he commits crimes. I was sooo lucky to get Max Verstappen in the video 'cause he's a busy guy but I was a little unsure who I wanted to play the guy who I was falling in love with, then I realized "why not have the guy your in love with be the love interest?" and he was instantly down." said the singer after the music video was released.

The video’s director said "The amount of energy and effort he put in while also being conscious of being out of the way or it not being about him, it was great. It’s hard to cast people in general, but to get them that dedicated is unique." he added "During the first few takes before Max got used to having to act, anytime he'd look at Y/n he'd smile and almost like melt so we had to give him a few pointers but after that he killed it" video’s director said about Verstappen.

The director added "The two were professional on camera but after the camera cut they'd laugh and behave as any other couple, it’s super weird and very meta. They’re essentially playing themselves in this really elevated and theatrical way that is not themselves at all. Now there was this responsibility because they’re a couple and they’re being filmed together for the first time in this kind of really big way, so that responsibility of doing them both justice and making them both look amazing and making sure that people understand that this is fiction while keeping it light and lovely became the priority."

i feel extremely lucky that each time i write a new record i learn a little bit more about myself, and can create from that place. the making of short n’ sweet was one of the most special, honest, up and down, stupid and fun experiences of my life.

thank you to my brilliant talented friends, writers, producers, mixers, engineers, and creative minds that helped me bring this world and these songs to life. not a serious thought was thunk yet somehow they were.. lol i love you all and am so grateful.

enews 🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Callum Turner and Dua Lipa have called it quits after a year of on and off dating. The timeline of when the two started dating is unclear but after a dinner in Los Angeles where the two seemed to be having problems the pair left the restaurant at the same time but in separate cars.

Only a day after the break up Turner was seen with a mystery blonde women while Dua Lipa was seen at an airport heading for London.

The relationship seemed to of become rocky after Y/n L/n released her singles "Espresso" and "Please Please Please". Then with the release of Y/n L/n's album Short n’ Sweet which contains multiple songs that are about their relationship.

enews Callum Turner spoke out about his relationship's being in the spotlight, while Turner and Y/n L/n's relationship was private, Callum and Dua Lipa's relationship was a public whirlwind of an on and off relationship.

"I know that people are always going to be curious especially when it's two famous people being seen together [...] I knew that she was going to write music because it's what she does [...] you know she'll do whatever to help her career [...] at the end of they day i wish her all the best."

Y/n L/n has been in a relationship with Three Time Formula One Champion of World Max Verstappen for over a year, the pair haven spoken very highly of each other and the two have supported each other’s careers. tbh I couldn’t for the life of me pick a color palette I liked And Render it so I gave up on color. Enjoy the half assery.

Tbh I’ve just been call it Ithacan Naga, but it’s objectively it’s a mix of snake, owl/bird, and human. So 🤷.

Tbh the wings are supposed to be white/gray-brown, cause owls & Hermes, while his scales are supposed to be an oscillating scale from sea green-blue to purple-tinted gray. Uhm. Evidently that sorta didn’t happen but also did. So.

The purple/grayer scales are gonna be more around with the feathers and wings.

Those fin colors are. Too blue and too bright but I love the colors themselves so they’re staying for now.

Uhm. That’s it for now, ig. I’m sorta on a timer rn and I’m tired so <3

Bird affection! There's your usual preening, of course, but crows can show affection just by sitting next to each other. Owls apparently like to lean on each other. And the there's beak fencing – touching/clacking beaks together. A bit like human kissing...

High up in the branches part 2

It's her birthday, 16 today there'd been presents and cake with candles. She'd made one simple wish for Ekko to stop being weird and just be with her. It's been around three weeks since her chat with Vander and Vi. It had been insightful to say the least, armed with the idea of ‘give some reassurance’ and a treasure trove of knowledge that had her equal parts blushing and grinning wickedly, she set about making her wish come true.

She tried to be clearer in what she wanted, in that she'd welcome change, in being more, unfortunately it wasn't so going well.

She'd give more hugs, which he would hold to just a bit longer and then suddenly back off. She'd invite him to braid her hair, and he'd have something else to do. She offered to learn how to help him do his hair, which was met with stammering, like she'd just short circuited his brain. Ugh, he was being stupid. And always with the excuses that he had too much on his mind to stay.

Alright, so maybe he was worried about change in more ways than one. Zaun around them seemed to be changing, too. It was fair to assume he had a lot on his mind.

But right now, she has her wishes and wants, and he did too if years of sweet words, touches, gestures, and gifts were anything to go by.

Speaking of gifts, he owed her one. He hadn't given her a birthday present. She'd heard the tell-tale crinkle of paper in his pocket, though. Was he worried she wouldn't like it? Didn't he know she had needed, wanted, and liked if not outright loved everything he’d ever given her? 

Whatever the reason, here was the solution. He owed her a gift. She'd guilt him into spending time with her. Underhanded? Maybe. Did she care? Right now? Nah. She considered it a very convenient opportunity.

For skipping out on a gift, she'd tell him he owed her snacks at Jericho's. A call back to their first ‘not date’ and seafood. And then they'd have a race, and she'd make it all tricks and loops, and they'd have fun. And then he'd see that everything was ok. And maybe, just maybe, she could recreate that moment they'd had on some random roof after her first dive flight when she was fourteen.

...

Next time they meet, when he drops something off at the Last Drop, she springs her trap “You got me no present.” she dials up her disappointment, hunching her shoulders and pouting.

He looked panicked for a moment, his hand going to his pocket. “Ah, well, you see, I left it at home, I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you?” She's possibly enjoying his squirming a bit much and can't hold back her smile. “Can we get snacks at Jericho's?”

He side eyes her. “Is this some elaborate plan to get extra dumplings and calamari?"

He'd caved to her request, no trouble. He did rib her a bit for it. Admittedly, she had indulged at her party. The streets were busy and Jericho's almost more so, but they'd managed to snag a spot at the bar and were happily ‘chomping’ or she was, according to Ekko, on delicious seafood snacks. Powder grinned when she stole yet another bite from his plate. In retaliation, he tugged her ridiculously long braid and stole a piece off of hers.

This was good, Ekko was finally letting his guard down. She scoots a little closer, and he goes rigid. No, shit, too quick? As she looks up at him, he's not even focused on her.

A unit of noisy and rude enforcers had kicked other patrons from their table and were loudly and rudely demanding lunch. Typical.

Ekko's fists are clenched, and she too feels the anger creep up. How dare they spoil everyone's day just because people were from the undercity? And on top of that today; how dare they ruin her date. Because, yes, that's what it was.

She glances at Jericho, who's clenching his cleaver with an expression that would give Vander a run for his money with ‘I am so done with your bullshit' face. This won't do. Let it not be said that she's not prepared. From her pouch, she takes a frankly adorable (if she does say so herself) chickadee looking contraption. One, two, three wind ups, and she sends it hopping towards the offenders.

Ekko has no time to question what she's doing. As the enforcers look down in confusion, the mechanical bird whistles three times before bursting open in a giant puff of pink and pungent smoke. She turns to him.

“Quick, go, go, go!” It's a fierce whisper, and she knows her grin is too big, but that was a blast! The enforces are stuck in the large puff of smoke, coughing and sneezing, and their eyes blind with tears. 

She takes Ekko by the hand, who looks equal parts horrified and impressed. Powder glances over at Jericho's hands-on belly and his head thrown back in a hearty chortle. He shoos them off and waves his hands that it's alright. 

They run. One of the men had cleared up just enough to catch a glimpse of the “Stop. Brats!"

She pulls Ekko along, weaving between the stalls and crates to the back of an alley out of sight as the angry enforcer runs past. Pushed against the wall, she mouths the word. “Tree?” He's grinning now too and nods. Coast clear for the moment. They shift and fly off.

With the adrenaline of what she'd done still coursing in her, she lets out a celebratory ‘caw!’ and goes for a loop in the air as he joins in. Now, this is more like it! As he does a circle around her, she thinks it might be even better. She dives towards the tunnels, riding the air currents with acrobatics that leave her dizzy.

The sight still takes her breath away. The only difference three months on is the work they've done. The platform has been reinforced, and they'd found a large hollow level with it the awning built over the opening, the newest addition.

Luck would have that the autumn rains had started pouring down while they were in the tunnels. They make a dive for the hollow, shaking their feathers as they land.

This is their little hide away, for when Powder's emotions and thoughts were too much or the world too noisy for Ekko or they just wanted to tinker together. Over the weeks, it had been filled with pillows and blankets for naps, and a tool bench and little inventions all over it had been made. It was starting to look a bit like a nest she thought with glee. She looks down at herself and then Ekko.

She laughs the sound a bit shrill in her crow voice. It has Ekko looking at her and then himself. They're completely ruffled up, half wet, feathers sticking out at odd angles and a twig on him, she's not entirely sure how it got there, it is however stuck somewhere he can't quite reach. She hops over and deftly plucks it out with her beak.

He smooths out a feather on her head, and soon they're preening each other. And then she playfully tugs at one of his feathers, he pecks at her beak, and then it breaks out into a fencing match. It's play, she knows, but it's very intimate play that can only come from trust. It's like a tickle fight, and the sensations become so much she shifts before she even realises she has.

Was that…? She's thrilled, to say the least, if a little overwhelmed. She curls over him, hugging him close. As an owl, he fits exactly between lap and chin. The hoots he's currently making she knows are happy ones, but his wings are flapping rather panicked. A moment later, he shifts, his nose neatly tucked to her chest.

He looks up, and his pupils are blown, both shy and amazed. Briefly, she wonders if she should just tuck his head back under her chin. As is the pattern as of late, though, he pulls away. 

“Are you ok? Your heart's going real fast.” His voice worried, she wants to lean in, to pull him back to her, and then he lets out a little chuckle his hand reaching to the top of her head. “Your hair…sorry.” A deflection for sure as he holds back another laugh, but he's fiddling a lock of her hair between his fingers, enchanted by it as ever. So it's alright for now.

She feels the back of her head. Sure enough, her braid has come undone and rather messily by the feel of it. “Would you braid it for me?” she asks hopefully.

Ekko doesn't say anything, just moves her between his legs, her back to him. His hands set to work with the certainty they'd always had. Finally, he's touching her again, and it's so, so good. 

The familiarity is soothing. It seems he's given into the moment just as much as her. As he finishes, she leans further back until she's leaning on him. His hands don't leave her, fingers tracing her shoulders and arms. He's either being bold or lost in thought, she's not sure which, but it's easy. This being together is easy. Is that what he's worried about? That this would change if it was said out loud? 

She thought about it for a bit, yeah, it'd change something alright, they could kiss and cuddle whenever they wanted but this easy togetherness wouldn't change.

Everything in his actions, in his touch, says what it's always said, that they go together, that he wants this and her. She glances up at him, and he's looking at nothing, his brows drawn ever so slightly.

In the end, she makes the choice. The whole happening of today has her feeling both wound tight and indulging in a comfortable sort of sluggishness. If he won't go over the line, they both want to cross, she will. Because there's no way she's been reading this wrong. 

“Ekko, stop thinking.”

She leans to the side and back with her head. One arm wraps around his neck, and the other goes to his cheek. With that, she pulls him down for a kiss. His eyes go wide and fall shut near instantly as their lips touch. It's soft and warm, just a gentle press together, and then she feels an arm circle around her waist and the other on her nap angling him so he can deepen the kiss. More pressure, a small lick against her lips, and she's the one giving in, opening her mouth just enough to let him in. It’s strange and wet and addicting and then he pulls away for a gasp of air. 

They're a hair's breadth away from each other, his half lidded eyes are bright pools, and she'd quite happily drown in them. “Hmmmm, I was waiting.” She can't help but tease him a bit. After all, nearly three months of frustration deserved a little payback. “Maybe now you can get out of your head, seriously you were headed towards a crash.” She says as she rubs her nose against his.

He chokes back a startled cough and buries his nose in the crook of her neck. He nuzzled there for a moment before he mutters “Fuck it."

“Huh?” 

He takes a deep breath. “Sorry, I was just… worried and distracted."

“Figured.”

“In my defence there was this really cute crow being all pretty and doing all these awesome loops, spins and dives in the air and glowing blue in the setting sun and she was so breathtaking I forgot what I was doing."

She feels like she's burning. It's a pleasant sort of heat. “That so?”

“Yeah, and now I have her in my lap, which is also really distracting.”

She is both blushing and cackling in delight as she smacks him on his chest, and then she pulls him to her for another kiss. 

He moves his lips to her neck, it tickles first, and then, oh, warm wet nibbles and kisses and damn that's good. Where the hell had this confidence been?

Revelling in the feeling of him trailing kisses to her earlobe and then nibbling there too she's quite happy to get lost in sensation when he takes a shaky breath, with the softest voice he tells her “I do actually have your gift."

From his pocket, he takes a long leather band on it, alternating feathers of her and him, with little blue beads between. “You can wear it as a necklace, or bracelet or in your hair.” He stammers out when she's silent. 

Her eyes must be huge, she thinks. Her and him on one strand. Two birds of a feather, she thinks as she has him loping it around her neck and pulls him down for another deep kiss. It's brilliant, and everything in her glows.

judging by the "fixes" they've applied to fern and i'm fairly sure also to a few other genes, they likely intend to flatten and generic-ify EVERY gene that does anything interesting with especially the top feathers portion of the wings. :/
