it’s terrible and he knows it, truly. but that doesn’t stop him from doing it. jealousy had filled his body all week, and it was fuelling his actions now, as he wraps his arms around the other man, allowing him to dance however he so pleased against him. it wasn’t good, he didn’t enjoy it -- but that was hardly the aim of the exercise. the aim was to make stan jealous. he could already tell the choice was working for bill, one look at mike’s face and you could tell he was about ready to explode...and not in a fun way. he loves mike a lot, and he knows that bill loves stan too -- but they’d found a common cause, a common enemy and with each other -- they would see it through, and then some, hopefully. “hm, you smell good,” he murmurs into his ear, allowing his frame to sway a little, not so much that he can be entirely blamed for what’s occurring -- the fact the man is so boisterous with his hips makes that pretty clear though. poor guy. / @lucidlunar

Omggggg THR (The Hollywood Reporter) just released their review of fresh and the bit about seb's performance is so????? "As Steve, Stan gives one of the most arresting performances of his career. In early scenes, he’s an eminently reasonable romantic lead — the kind of guy you totally believe could get a girl’s number at the grocery store with a cutesy anecdote about Cotton Candy grapes. But it’s when the character’s true nature is revealed that Stan rises to his full potential, channeling Patrick Bateman while dancing to Animotion’s “Obsession” in his kitchen or monologuing to an unfortunately captive audience.
That Edgar-Jones is able to maintain her footing against such unhinged charisma is a feat in itself"
I READ THAT, IT'S SO FUCKING??? I LOVE SEEING SEB PRAISE THE THE PATRICK BATEMAN REFERENCE GOODBYE

§The Losers Club in the Nightworld Verse§
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beverly Marsh: Vampire/Witch Hybrid
Patrick Hockstetter: Made Vampire
Her mother was a witch and her father was a lamia (born vampire)
Bev is part of Eddie and Stan’s coven
There is no details for hybrid creatures.
According to Nightworld verse:
Lamia - pureblood or "born vampires" - and the "made vampires" who were turned. The lamia behave more human than made vampires. They age and can eat food as well as reproduce, but can suspend their aging process at will and become immortal. However, if they resume aging after a significant number of years, they will immediately age to match their "true" age.
Made vampires are those created through a blood exchange between a human and either a lamia or another made vampire. Made vampires are infertile, unaging, and can only drink blood. Because older adults cannot survive the transition, made vampires are quite youthful in appearance. If a made vampire in transition does not receive enough blood from their sire while being turned, they will resurrect as a ravenous ghoul upon their imminent death. These mindless creatures are driven only by their compulsion to hunt and feed on the flesh and blood of the living.
All vampires possess supernatural powers of strength and speed as well as potentially developing telepathic abilities. Sunlight weakens them, but will not kill them. Their bloodlust is rooted not in hunger but in their need to breathe as their own blood cells cannot carry oxygen. Although they do possess great healing abilities as well as being impervious to all diseases and poisons, vampires can be killed by fire or a wooden stake through the heart. They cannot shapeshift into bats or be harmed by crucifixes or garlic and can enter without being invited.
The original vampire was a powerful witch named Maya. Obsessed with eternal youth, she used her magics to become the first immortal by drinking the blood of infants. Her son, Red Fern, is the ancestor of the lamia. The first made vampire was a boy from Maya's tribe named Thierry. As she is the purest vampire in existence, Maya possesses abilities unknown to her descendants. This includes the ability to shapeshift into a large batlike creature similar to many fictional vampires. She also retains her ability to access magical forces and practice witchcraft.
Despite their genealogical roots in witchcraft, vampire society is patriarchal. Lamia of the Redfern family possess a greater concentration of witch blood and are thus able to tap into the same forces as their foremother to perform a "kinship ceremony" for familial strengthening. The symbol for the lamia is not depicted in the books. Lamia are known to carry the image of a black iris. The symbol for made vampires is a black rose.

Squid’s IT 2019 Experience
Ok. So. IT 2019 happened September 14th, at 7:15, with @captain-the-foxx and @shadowydarklight, after watching the first movie together. And OH BOY, my FEELINGS. (Also I’m going to try to stay chronological but my memory is SHIT and I’ve only seen this once, so pls forgive me)
I knew the Adrian and Don scene was coming. And it was still rough. I thought people were playing it up a bit, but nope. Our theater had this atmosphere during the whole scene, and it was uncomfortable (also there were no vocal homophobes, which I’m thankful for)
The CGI when Pennywise bites Adrian is... not great.
I love Bill being a dick in his intro scene 👏 I mean, it’s awful, but I love the book continuity. I wish we could’ve gotten more Audra ://
Eddie crashing his car, proving gays can’t drive. And calling his wife mommy. Poetic cinema
I can relate HELLA to Richie being a nervous puker. Me fuckin too, man. Me fuckin too.
Kid Ben from the miniseries is working with Ben!! I love!!
Our theater cheered when Bev left Tom. It was amazing, and I stan
We knew Stan was going to die. And it still hurted. Him seeing Bill before he dies? HURTED.
Also the transitions at the beginning here? Beautiful. Stunning. Flawless.
The entire Jade of the Orient scene was great. I love the CGI and “monsters”, the chemistry was so much like the kids, all the Reddie, Richie doing a Voice, the eye. Perfect
Eddie and Richie trying to elope leave Derry at the same time
That scene with Vicky(?) under the bleachers was beautiful. Give Skarsgård all the awards. Idc. I’ll be Pennywise’s friend.
Zombie Patrick helping Henry break out. I just. Damn. That scared quite a few people
Mike drugging Bill? Damn man. I loved that whole segment with the tribe, it looked so cool. More nods to birds, which I will always love
Ok so I heard some VERY mixed reactions to the CGI on the kids and their voices. It wasn’t bad at all, I think. I noticed it the most on Finn (Richie) and Jeremy (Ben), but it was also very easy to ignore. Their voices were fine
hdjshdiesjdhsjehe kid!Eddie became so chaotic what happened it’s like him and Richie switched roles
Everyone going into and leaving the townhouse feels like a sitcom tbh and I’m not sure if it was tiring or funny
We got the walking tours, kind of, and I’m so happy!!!! King’s cameo, we still got a “kiss me, fat boy!” the ENTIRETY of Richie’s scene, the leper French Kissing Eddie’s mom (and Eddie strangling IT), and, of course, Kersh. So good.
Stan got his bar mitzvah scene I can’t 😭
Eddie 👏 stabbing 👏 Bowers 👏 and 👏 roasting 👏 him 👏 And I STARTED AN APPLAUSE FOR IT!! Go me, Reddie Rights 😂 (btw Eddie is amazing in this we stan a gay who will throw hands)
Give Mike a break 2k19 feat. Bowers coming to shank him
I, again, relate to Richie vomiting when he gets stressed
YO THEY FUCKIN KILLED DEAN WHAT THE FU—
Ok so I been knew they’d see Stan but like. I wasn’t prepared for them to stab it.
Jay Ryan’s abs. That is all.
Eddie freezing and apologizing hurts ;;-;;
“You’re braver than you think” just. Stabbed me in the chest. I turned to @captain-the-foxx and said “Eddie’s going to be brave, save Richie, then get killed” and it fuckin happened.
ok so like. the cgi on all the monsters just. ain’t it chief. am sorry. I like the designs in theory, but like. Oof.
THEY MADE THE SPIDER COOL THEY FUCKIN MADE THE SPIDER LOOK AMAZING
“That’s not gunna burn” fuckin tell them Eddie
Bill as Pennywise, kinda? Poetic cinema
Benverly 👏
Richie and Eddie leave Derry together and get a Pomeranian that’s canon
“You’re a sloppy bitch!” will be my last sentence
I been knew Eddie was going to die but like. The way Richie and Eddie look at each other and say each other’s names as it happens just. It hurts man
I love that you can just bully Pennywise to death. Also that heterochromia tho
Give Bill Hader all the awards for that scene. Now.
Richie being the only person to not be joking hurt my soul in such a deep way guys
That ending speech just. My fuckin heart, Andy. Stop.

71: Is tumblr your favorite website? If not, then what is it?
Tumblr is one of my favorites, but Ao3 has my ass.

82: What time do you normally sleep? How many hours do you usually get?
     uuuhh... yes, and not enough!

Tell me....about this thirst aid kit podcast. The title intrigues me 👀 ❤hannah
UMMM @kentuckybarnes YOU MEAN THE BEST PODCAST EVER??!!!
Thirst Aid Kit is run by these two women from BuzzFeed who basically unpack and intellectualise the phenomenon on thirst, what makes a person thirst-worthy, their body of work and how thirst-inducing it is – AND they read fanfic drabbles at the end of each episode.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND listening to any of these in public or while driving (vacuuming should be okay though), because your face will do things and you will be straight up cackling and giggling and covering your face, because this podcast has literally called out your thirsty, thirsty soul and it is just TOO MUCH.
Recommended episodes (Spotify links below):
Kissing Sebastian Stan – my favourite spicy white. I made the mistake of listening to this en route to a work thing and my workmates were so confused, but christ on a crumpet, I was so thirsty after this one.
Chris Evans (feat. Chris Evans) – my ultimate everything. I also made the happy mistake of listening to this in the car with my (long suffering and perpetually laughing) husband bearing full witness to my thirst for Chris Evans. I had to pull over and make him drive, I was just non-functional BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY GOT AN INTERVIEW WITH EVANS on this one, just kill me.
The Evolution of Michael Bae Jordan – this speaks for itself.
They also do vintage baes of Hollywood, managed to interview Charlie Cox on hairless superheroes in a recent one too, covered Sadly Dead Baes (dedicated to Patrick Swayze), and dissected what makes Mr. Rochester so thirst-inducing.
It's a great podcast, please listen 🖤🖤🖤

The Boy That Time Forgot

by smolbeaneds
Time is important. It has always been important since the dawn of time. Everyone goes throughout their days, weeks, years with time. But have you ever wondered if one person didn’t go through their day with time? What if they could manipulate time? Fuck with the world by going back and forth in different time periods? Messing with the time and space continuum? Well, one person can do all of those things.

Some Underrated Musicals I Stan IDK
Hadestown: It’s about Orpheus and Eurydice. Has Patrick Page and Amber Gray as Hades and Persephone, what more do you want????!!!!!!
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: It’s about.....Andrew Jackson. Punk rock. Very blunt, so expect lots of problematic parts about the treatment of First Nations people of America. Supposed to be a learning experience.
Hunchback Of Norte Dame: I will NEVER stop stanning this musical. Quite possibly the best Disney musical adaption yet. Micheal Arden owns my soul, and Ciara Renée killed it.
Pippin: So good???? Once again, Ciara Renée just CRUSHES my soul. Medieval times but with jazz. Has Rachel Bay Jones in it
Ghost Quartet: Great Comet’s underrated sibling. Ghosts and shit, idk man I’ve stanned this musical for three months and even I don’t understand the entire plot yet. Very good though.
The Lightning Thief: A Percy Jackson production that doesn’t get the story wrong???? Who knew!!! If you stanned these books when you were younger, then this is the musical for you. George Salazar plays Grover, what more do you want????!!!!!
Firebringer: It’s a Starkid Musical about bisexual cavemen and cavewomen. The work song is from it. Lauren Lopez, man.
Razia’s Shadow: Imagine hallucinating to a Cab album. This is it. Emo musical feat. My boi Beebo Urie
Jasper In Deadland: This guy’s crush kills herself and he has to venture to the underworld to get her back. May or may not include Satan as a racist hillbilly. “Death!” *funky synth music*
35 MM: Fuck me if I know what the plot for this musical is. Um, want some good fucking BOPS? Then listen to this musical
Bare: Gay catholic school extravaganza. Prepare to laugh and cry at the same time. This show is how Micheal Arden met his husband awwwww

Terminator 2 at 30: How Guns N’ Roses Created the Perfect Hype
https://ift.tt/3y90I2n
As far as blockbuster sequels go, Terminator 2: Judgment Day remains widely hailed as one of the best, having constructed a skillfully expanded spectacle without indulgently redefining the original premise. Yet, the film had to be sold to the public going into its July 3, 1991 wide release, which was nearly seven whole years after the first film cemented the superstardom of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fortunately, a partnership with rockers Guns N’ Roses yielded a theme song in “You Could Be Mine” that would effectively convey the film’s intensity and attitude. Thirty years later, the song remains an indelible part of the revered sequel.
While fan-magazine-read sci-fi cinephiles saw Terminator 2 coming from the time the film’s tightly-scheduled principal photography commenced in October of 1990, the sequel was a surprise to the general public when its first teaser trailers ambushed big screen audiences. After all, this was a time before the prevalence of the Internet (specifically YouTube,) made the frequent release of trailers into a commonplace, slow-burn promotional strategy. Thusly, the $102 million-budgeted film had to rely on theatrical trailers and television spots, which had effectively spoiled the film’s narrative notion of Schwarzenegger’s new T-800 being the hero this time around, poised to battle Robert Patrick’s groundbreaking, visually-perplexing T-1000. However, the still-thriving music video realm of MTV (and the radio-fueled Billboard Hot 100) would provide an additional platform for the film’s promotional pièce de resistance: a music video theme song. But, what?
The Terminator franchise’s returning director, James Cameron—who had since pulled off an amazingly up-scaled sequel feat by following up Ridley Scott’s masterpiece with 1986’s Aliens—was subverted by suits from distributing studio Tri-Star Sony, who unilaterally acted on the idea that the film needed a music video of some kind. As the director recounted in an interview collected in The Ringer’s recent Terminator 2 oral history piece, “[T]hey’re saying, ‘Well, we’ve got to do a music video.’ And so, they go to Arnold—they didn’t talk to me—and they say, ‘We want you in a music video with some act.’ Arnold says, ‘OK, look, if you’re going to do a music video, you get the biggest band in the world. I don’t even care who they are.’ They flip open Billboard: ‘Guns N’ Roses makes sense. We’ve got a rose in the movie and bloody guns. Good, do it.’”
Consequently, it would be star Schwarzenegger himself—not Cameron—who would first foster the film’s partnership with Guns N’ Roses, who had essentially been picked out of a Billboard magazine based purely on their current position. However, Guns N’ Roses were indeed the hottest rock band in the world of the time, and, fortuitously enough, they were moving toward the September 17, 1991 dual release of the ambitious “Use Your Illusion I & II” albums. Thusly, Terminator 2’s usage of “You Could Be Mine” (from “Use Your Illusion II”) would advantageously attach the film to the debut single from the albums, which were the long-awaited first proper new material from the band—notwithstanding low-key compilation-released songs “Civil War” and a cover of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” both of which would be included on the “Use Your Illusion” albums—since the stratospheric success of 1987’s “Appetite for Destruction” and 1988 live/acoustic album “G N’ R Lies” had fully digested on the charts in 1989. The connection made the film’s release a true multimedia event, which was about as good as promotional material got during that era.
Unlike other famous chartbusting soundtrack songs directly inspired by their films, “You Could Be Mine” was not written specifically for Terminator 2. Interestingly, the song, written by Axl Rose and imminently-outgoing guitarist Izzy Stradlin, was a throwback composition from the “Appetite” era that didn’t make the final cut. This explains why the song lyric, “With your bitch slap rappin’ and your cocaine tongue you get nothin’ done” almost presciently appeared in the liner notes of the 1987 album. However, the band’s inclusion was cemented after they were courted for a private screening of the film. As Schwarzenegger recalls in the oral-history-collected interview, “We had a specific screening, it was just for us, the cast, James and myself, and Guns N’ Roses. I think that Axl Rose was extremely impressed. I remember him going to Jim and saying, ‘I’m in.’”
Fatefully, “You Could Be Mine” was on tap as the hard-driving debut single for their then-upcoming dual album event. The song’s lyrics may be topically divergent from Terminator 2’s apocalyptic time-crossing cybernetic warfare—instead a seedy Los Angeles story of a destructive relationship with a cocaine-addicted rock groupie—but the song’s hard-driving tempo and Axl Rose-imbued swagger make it a tonal match for the actioner. The song was prominently featured in the film, serving as the brash musical backdrop to the introductory scene of Edward Furlong’s John Connor, who throws shade on his imminently-doomed foster parents before riding off on his motorbike for a spree of ATM-scheming and arcade splurging. In essence, the song was John’s defiantly-loud theme song, representing his imminent transition from delinquent to post-apocalyptic leader.
This idea, of course, would become evident with the music video over which the whole partnership was based. With the single itself having dropped on June 21, 1991 (editor-in-chief Mike Cecchini and myself have recounted similar warm memories of owning the song’s cassingle), the video manifested under the auspices of veteran music directors Jeffrey Abelson and Andrew Morahan, along with the late effects wizard, Stan Winston. Yet, it was a conceptually simple clip, in which Guns N’ Roses are playing a concert that gets an intruder in Schwarzenegger’s T-800, who’s there to terminate the band!

The “You Could Be Mine” video was put together with footage taken from a Guns N’ Roses 1991 concert performance at New York’s Ritz rock club edited against the footage of T-800’s ominous approach toward the stage, mixed with movie-promoting material from the film’s trailer, notably its inclusion of the now-iconic “hasta la vista, baby” line. Of course, the most memorable part of the video occurs after Axl reaches the song’s high-note killer coda, at which point we see the band finally intercepted by their cybernetic pursuer while trying to leave the concert venue; an exterior scene that, according to guitarist Slash, was actually shot outside L.A.’s Roxy Theatre. However, the chase ultimately proves futile, since a scene through the killer’s mechanical infrared point of view reveals that killing the band—specifically Axl—would be a waste of ammo, thereby ending the confrontation with an awkwardly anti-climactic—albeit hilarious—detente.
Ultimately, “You Could Be Mine” became a signature tune for Guns N’ Roses. The song peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 9, 1991 at #29 (mind you, at a time in which such a feat reached far more people than it does today), and lasted 15 weeks on the charts. Moreover, it became a Top 10 hit globally and even reached #1 in Finland and Spain. It remains intrinsically associated with not just Terminator 2, but the film franchise as a whole, evidenced by its nostalgic usage in 2009’s post-apocalypse-set Terminator Salvation, in which Christian Bale’s grizzled adult John Connor plays the song on an old boombox to lure a Moto-Terminator for a quick hotwire job.
Likewise, Terminator 2: Judgment Day was properly hyped by the success of “You Could Be Mine,” notably with the visual promotion by the video’s constant rotation on MTV that summer. Partially propelled by that momentum, the film went on a worldwide box office tear, breaking records and going on to gross a global total $520 million (which, adjusted for inflation, would be $1.027 billion). Notwithstanding resolute fans of the first film, the sequel remains widely revered as the best entry in the franchise (we won’t go over the sad, divisive state of the franchise’s subsequent entries) and, in 2017, even received a major 4K 3D overhaul—notably with digitally updated effects that, for example, edited Schwarzenegger’s face onto his stunt double in some key scenes.
Indeed, fully-vaccinated moviegoers who were too young or just missed out on experiencing the film on the big screen would be well-advised to check local theaters for 30th anniversary screenings. As the song in question pertinently says, “Now holidays come and then they go. It’s nothin’ new today. Collect another memory.”

Prompt: “Guess who signed us up to go Christmas caroling”
A rare Losers Club centric story of mine feat. a minor appearance by my boyz (aka the Bowers gang)
For @anotheritfandomnerd
Ben was 100% all about Christmas. He loved it. The lights, the sounds, the smells, all of it just instantly made him happy. He had even run out of bed at 2 in the morning in nothing but his pajamas to enjoy the first snow of the year.
He invited all of his friends over to his house to make cookies and drink hot chocolate to celebrate the change in weather. Not Christmas cookies, he had stressed, because Stan was invited too. After all, sugar cookies were non denominational. It couldn’t be more perfect. That is until Richie showed up.
“Hey losers!” He greeted as he entered Ben’s house without knocking. “Guess who signed us up to go Christmas Caroling!”
Eddie carefully wiped his boots off on the mat before entering the house after Richie. The other losers stared at Richie in disbelief.
“P-please tell me your jo-joke-joking,” Bill said with a grimace.
“I’d never joke about Christmas carols,” Richie said in a mock serious tone.
“Count me out,” Beverly said. “There’s no way I’m going door to door to embarrass myself.”
“It could be fun,” Mike reasoned.
“You’re only saying that because you’re good at singing,” Eddie said.
“Everyone knows you’re not supposed to be good at singing to carol. That’s part of the appeal,” Richie said.
“I’m pretty sure you just made that up,” Ben said as he rolled his eyes.
“You all suck, except you Mike. You’re still could. What say you Stanley?” Richie asked.
“No.”
“Aw, you too Stan?” Richie frowned.
“Richie, I’m Jewish,” Stan reminded him.
“That’s no reason to not go Christmas caroling,” Richie whined.
“Fine,” Stan said looking Richie in the eye. “I’ll make you a deal. If you can tell me when Hanukkah is this year without looking at a calendar, I’ll go with you.” Stan crossed his arms and waited.
Richie opened his mouth and then closed it again before sighing in defeat.
Stan got out of Christmas caroling, but the other losers were not as lucky. It was cold and the matching sweaters Richie had insisted they wear were itchy, but the look of pure joy on Richie’s face when they were gathered and ready to go made it worth it.
Everyone was surprised that people were actually listening to the sing. Beverly expected most of them to shut the door in their faces, but people stayed and listened. Apparently the town of Derry needed a little Christmas cheer.
They weren’t the only ones out caroling that night. Various church groups and choirs from around town were out that night. It seemed that wherever Richie had signed them up to go caroling was organized. Each group stayed in their area. Richie even had a list of which streets were there’s.
When every door had been knocked on, and the losers sang more Christmas carols then they ever realized they knew, everyone split up and began to walk home.
“Did you have fun, Eds?” Richie asked.
“Don’t call me that,” Eddie said reflexively. “I guess it wasn’t awful, but if I get a cold from staying outside too long, my mom is not going to be happy.”
“Don’t worry my boy. I know plenty of ways to bring your mom some holiday cheer,” he winked at Eddie who rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, Eddie pulled Richie into a nearby bush.
“Eddie, what the fu-” Eddie shushed him. Richie could hear some familiar voices approaching.
“Patrick, you can’t just single jingle bells at every house. Especially if the rest of us are singing something different,” Vic groaned.
“Medleys are really in right now,” Patrick defended. “Besides, it’s the only Christmas song I know. I didn’t want to come, remember.”
“None of us wanted to come,” Henry said.
“Stop complaining, or the rest of you are walking to school for the rest of the winter,” Belch said. Richie and Eddie could see that Belch was dressed in a rather festive sweater with a matching hat. He looked rather pleased to be out, while the other members of the Bowers Gang looked like they’d rather be anyone else.
“Are they...?” Richie wondered after they had gone passed.
“Caroling? Yeah I think so.” Eddie was just as surprised as he was.
“The guys are gonna fucking love this,” Richie said with glee.
Eddie frowned. He didn’t want to think of what Henry Bowers would do to them if he found out they had told everyone he had gone Christmas caroling.
“You know what Richie, in the spirit of Christmas, let’s keep this one to ourselves,” Eddie suggested.
