John Oliver teaches Jon Stewart how the American government functions 🏛️
This is the piece I meant to post after John's appearance on The Daily Show last week as it reminded me heavily of this but I've had the bubons for over a month so I basically forgot.
"...and yet this is what you rejected constitutional monarchy for, so why don't you suck it!"

For DC, would you mayhaps write about picking them up when they aren't expecting, or just didn't think you could, almighty writer?
DC COMICS CHARACTERS x FEM!READER
You pick them up as if they weighed absolutely nothing

Reply to anon: If I understood your request correctly (I really hope so), I love you for this request, it was so fun to write this headcanon.
Bruce Wayne (Batman)
- It is a rare thing to catch Bruce Wayne off guard, a feat most would deem impossible. He is a man of precision, calculation, and control, his every move rehearsed in the dark solitude of his mind long before it is executed. And yet, when you lift him into your arms with the ease of a shadow passing over the city, all his legendary foresight shatters in an instant. His breath stutters—just once, imperceptible to anyone but you—and his gloved hands instinctively grasp your shoulders, as if to confirm the absurd reality of what is happening. The weight of Gotham’s protector, cradled so effortlessly against you, is a secret victory that sends a slow smile curling at the edges of your lips.
- "Tch," he exhales, the sound more air than voice, his dark eyes narrowing in something between astonishment and begrudging amusement. "You’ve been holding out on me." His pride does not allow him to admit the full extent of his surprise, but the way his fingers tighten ever so slightly against your arms betrays him. Bruce Wayne is not a man who enjoys being caught unaware, and yet—there is something in the way you handle him, something in the unwavering steadiness of your grip, that quiets the usual tension that knots his body like a bowstring drawn too tight.
- He does not struggle. He does not order you to put him down. No, he merely tilts his head, calculating, the sharp angles of his face betraying the ghost of a smirk. "I assume you have a reason for this," he murmurs, his voice a low rasp against your ear. "Or do you just enjoy surprising me?" It is a challenge, an invitation, and perhaps, in some small way, a confession. For all his formidable strength, for all the ways he has trained himself to never relinquish control—there is a part of him that does not mind being held by you.
- Later, when the moment has passed and Gotham calls him away once more, he does not mention it. But you notice the way his gaze lingers on you, the way his fingers brush against your wrist just a little longer than necessary. And when, the next time, you reach for him with that same effortless power, you swear you see the corner of his lips quirk upward—just for a second—before he allows himself to fall into your embrace.
Kal-El (Clark Kent, Superman)
- The sky belongs to him, the very air bending to his will, the world itself no heavier than a breath upon his palm. And yet, when you lift him into your arms, when you cradle the Man of Steel as if he were something as light and effortless as a whisper, it is his turn to be left breathless. His blue eyes widen—just slightly, just enough for you to catch the flicker of disbelief that dances through them like a shooting star. "Whoa," he exhales, the sheer sincerity in his voice making you laugh. "Did you—did you just—?"
- He does not finish his sentence, because the answer is obvious. He is here, weightless in your grasp, and despite all reason, he cannot quite seem to wrap his mind around it. He has lifted mountains, shifted tectonic plates, carried entire cities upon his back—but this, this is something entirely different. He peers down at you with a mixture of awe and delight, a boyish grin breaking across his features, and suddenly, he is not Superman, not the Last Son of Krypton, but simply Clark—a farm boy who has just been shown a new miracle in a world that he thought he had seen from every angle.
- "Well," he laughs, resting his hands lightly on your shoulders, his touch warm, steady. "I guess turnabout is fair play." He is not used to being the one lifted, the one held, and there is something undeniably endearing about the way he lets himself be carried, as if surrendering to the simple joy of the moment. His grin softens into something fonder, something gentler, and his voice dips to a lower timbre, laced with that impossible tenderness that only he can wield so effortlessly. "You are full of surprises, aren’t you?"
- Later, as you stand together beneath the open sky, he will wrap his arms around you and lift you high into the air, spinning you in a slow, weightless circle, as if to remind you that the universe still bows to his strength. But the truth, the quiet, unspoken truth, is that he will remember this moment—not for the sheer impossibility of it, not for the surprise of being lifted, but for the way you looked at him as you did it. As if he was something precious. As if he was something worth carrying.
Barry Allen (The Flash)
- One second, he is standing before you, mid-sentence, hands moving animatedly as he rambles about some impossible feat of science, some breakthrough that only his mind could possibly keep up with. And the next—he is airborne. Suspended. A blur of red and gold frozen in time as you hoist him effortlessly into your arms, his entire train of thought derailing so spectacularly that for the first time in what is possibly ever, Barry Allen is at a complete and utter loss for words.
- His blue eyes blink, wide with sheer, unfiltered astonishment. His mouth opens, then closes, then opens again, as if struggling to find a logical explanation for what just happened. "What—how did you—" He pauses, glances down at himself, then back at you. "Okay. Alright. This is fine. This is normal. Totally normal. This is a thing that happens." His words come faster now, a breathless tumble of disbelief and delight, and despite the initial shock, there is no fear—only pure, infectious amusement.
- And then he laughs. Oh, he laughs—bright and bubbling over, like the crackle of lightning against an open sky, his body practically vibrating with sheer giddiness. "I mean, I know I’ve swept you off your feet before, but this—this is a whole new level." His arms loop around your neck, dramatic and theatrical, his head tilting back as he lets himself be cradled as if he were some fairytale damsel. "Be honest, you’ve been planning this for a while, haven’t you?"
- He will tease you about this for weeks, recounting the moment with exaggerated flair to anyone who will listen. But there will also be the quiet moments—when he leans against you just a little more than usual, when his hands linger at your waist as if remembering the steady strength of your arms. And maybe, just maybe, the next time you catch him at full speed, he will let you lift him once more—just to feel, for a fleeting moment, what it’s like to be caught by you.
Diana of Themyscira (Wonder Woman)
- The daughter of gods, sculpted from sacred clay, raised among warriors whose strength is the stuff of legend. To surprise Diana is no easy task, for she has spent centuries honing herself into something divine, something unyielding. And yet—when you lift her into your arms, when you cradle her as if she were no heavier than a whispered prayer, the Goddess of Truth is rendered momentarily speechless.
- Her lips part, her brows lifting ever so slightly, and though she does not gasp, does not falter, there is an undeniable flicker of astonishment in her gaze. "You are stronger than you appear," she muses, her voice warm, touched with something akin to admiration. A warrior recognizes another, and in this moment, she sees you in a new light—not merely as her love, but as something formidable, something unexpected.
- And then, she smiles. Not a small smile, not a coy smirk, but something radiant—something that reaches her eyes, that sets her entire face alight with unmistakable joy. "Impressive," she hums, resting a steady hand against your shoulder. "Though, I must admit, I rather enjoy this perspective." There is a teasing lilt to her voice, a challenge dancing at the edges of her words. It is rare for anyone to hold her in such a way, but she finds, quite unexpectedly, that she does not mind it at all.
- Later, she will return the favor with ease, sweeping you into her arms without effort, carrying you across battlefields, across cities, across oceans. But in that moment, in the quiet space between surprise and laughter, she allows herself to rest in your hold, to relish the warmth of your embrace, to be held—not as a warrior, not as a princess, but simply as a woman who loves, and is loved in return.
Arthur Curry (Aquaman)
- Arthur Curry is not a man accustomed to feeling small. He is a king, a warrior, a force of nature bound in muscle and salt, the weight of oceans resting upon his shoulders. He has wrestled sea monsters the size of mountains, stood unyielding against the fury of the abyss, and emerged from every battle with the untamed, feral grin of a man who belongs to the storm. But when you lift him—when your arms curl around him with a strength that defies reason, hoisting him off solid ground as if he were nothing but driftwood—his entire world tilts. His golden eyes widen, stunned, his calloused hands gripping instinctively at your shoulders as if the sea itself has betrayed him.
- "What the—?" His voice is a startled rumble, a sharp bark of laughter cutting through the shock. His thick brows furrow, then lift, his expression wavering somewhere between indignation and absolute, boyish delight. He has never been handled like this, not even by the tides he calls home, and it is as absurd as it is exhilarating. "Alright, alright, I get it," he grumbles, though his smirk betrays him. "You’ve been hiding those muscles from me, huh?" There is no protest, no attempt to reclaim his dominance—only the rough, teasing warmth of a man who knows when to yield to the unexpected.
- He tests you, just a little, shifting his weight in your arms as if daring you to drop him. But you don’t. Not even close. And something in his grin turns sharper, more wicked, because he loves this—loves being surprised, loves the way you refuse to let him be the only powerful one in the room. "Damn," he chuckles, low and approving, his gaze sweeping over you with something hungry, something possessive. "That’s actually kinda hot."
- When you finally put him down, he doesn’t step back. No, he lingers—crowds close, his massive frame still buzzing with the thrill of it. And then, without warning, his arms are around you, hoisting you off your feet with ease, spinning you in a full, dizzying circle before crushing you against his chest. "Had to return the favor," he murmurs against your ear, voice thick with laughter. "But next time, sweetheart? Give a king some warning before you knock him off his throne."
Hal Jordan (Green Lantern)
- Hal Jordan is weightless before you can even blink. A man accustomed to soaring, to the rush of flight beneath his ribs, he has never once imagined himself being lifted—not without the emerald glow of his will forging the sky beneath his feet. But now, here, in your arms, held effortlessly with no ring, no power beyond the sheer impossible strength of you—Hal is, for the first time in his life, truly speechless.
- "You—hold on, what?" His voice cracks, laughter bubbling out of him in a disbelieving rush. His hands press against your shoulders, his pulse hammering with something electric, something wild. "Oh, no way. No freaking way." His mouth splits into a grin, bright and reckless, his green eyes alight with sheer, giddy amusement. "Are you messing with me? Is this some kind of—?" But no, there’s no trickery, no constructs at play, just you, standing solid beneath him while the world spins wildly out of sync with everything he thought he knew.
- And he loves it. Oh, he loves it. Because Hal Jordan lives for the unexpected, for the thrill of new frontiers, for the rush of facing the impossible head-on. And you—lifting him like he’s nothing, standing there with that knowing smirk—you are a whole new adventure, and he is utterly, shamelessly hooked. "This is amazing," he declares, wrapping his arms around your neck, leaning in close, grinning like a devil who has just been handed the keys to heaven. "You do realize I’m never gonna let you live this down, right?"
- He doesn’t stop talking about it. Ever. The next time the League gathers, he flings an arm around your shoulder and grins at the others. "You guys won’t believe this," he announces, smug and gleeful. "This one? Picked me up like I was a damn sack of potatoes. I mean, look at me! Look at this!" And when the teasing inevitably turns back on him, when Barry is cackling and Diana is arching a knowing brow, Hal just shrugs, utterly unapologetic. "Hey," he says, looping his arms around you once more, flashing you that impossibly charming, infuriatingly smug grin. "What can I say? I’m into it."
Oliver Queen (Green Arrow)
- Oliver Queen has spent his life dancing on the edge of danger, slipping through shadows and fire with the unshakable confidence of a man who always lands on his feet. But this—this was not in his playbook. One moment, he’s standing there, all easy smirks and smooth arrogance, and the next? His feet leave the ground, his entire world tilting as you lift him with effortless strength, cradling him as if he were something delicate. And for the first time in years, Oliver Queen has no immediate comeback.
- "…You’ve got to be kidding me." His voice is flat, stunned, as his hands instinctively grip your shoulders. His green eyes blink once, twice, his mouth parting in absolute disbelief. "Did that just—did you just—?" And then it happens—the breathless chuckle, the slow realization, the sudden shift from shock to pure, unfiltered amusement. A wide, toothy grin breaks across his face, bright as wildfire, and before you know it, he’s laughing, full-bodied and unrestrained. "Oh, I love this," he gasps between chuckles, eyes gleaming. "I love this. Are you seeing this? Someone take a picture—no, wait, don’t, I have a reputation to uphold."
- He throws himself into the bit immediately, draping an arm over his forehead as if he’s some swooning noble. "My hero," he sighs dramatically, peeking at you from beneath his lashes. "How will I ever repay you for saving me from the perils of standing?" His grin is wicked, challenging, but there’s something beneath it—something warm, something fond, something that lingers even as his laughter fades into something quieter, something real.
- Later, when he’s sprawled beside you, still smirking, he nudges your side with his elbow. "You know," he muses, tapping his chin, "I think I might need saving again sometime soon." And then, without warning, he flings himself at you, arms wrapping around your neck with all the grace of a man who knows damn well you’ll catch him. "Quick, sweetheart," he grins, pressing a kiss to your cheek. "Before gravity kicks back in."
John Constantine
- John Constantine has seen many things in his life—things that would shatter the minds of lesser men, things that slither and whisper in the dark, things that crawl beneath the skin of the world and rot it from the inside out. But this? This is something else entirely. One second, he’s standing there, cigarette between his lips, coat draped lazily over his shoulders, and the next? He’s airborne. Lifted. Weightless. And utterly, utterly done with this reality.
- "Bloody hell," he curses, his usual rasp of sarcasm momentarily failing him. His cigarette nearly tumbles from his lips as he grips at your arms, wide-eyed, indignant. "You having a laugh, love?" But you don’t waver, don’t so much as break a sweat, and that realization sends something flickering through his gaze—something wary, something intrigued, something dangerously close to impressed.
- "Well, that’s just embarrassing," he mutters, exhaling smoke through his nose, tilting his head as he eyes you with newfound consideration. "And here I thought I was the one with all the tricks up me sleeve." He shifts in your arms, testing the hold, then smirks, lazy and sharp. "Alright then. Carry on, darling. Just make sure you don’t drop me—I’d hate to spill me pint."
- Later, when he’s sitting with you, fingers tapping against his glass, he glances your way with something softer hidden beneath the bite of his words. "Next time," he murmurs, swirling his drink, "maybe give a bloke a warning before you decide to turn his world upside down, yeah?" But there’s no real protest, no real annoyance. Just the lingering, undeniable truth—he liked it. He liked you. And that, perhaps, is the most dangerous magic of all.
Roy Harper (Arsenal)
- Roy Harper has been thrown, knocked down, and sent flying more times than he can count. But this? This is different. One second, he’s standing there—grinning, cocky, weight shifted lazily onto one hip—and the next, his feet leave the ground. For the first time in a long time, Roy Harper is caught instead of doing the catching. His mouth opens, a sharp inhale of surprise, his arms flailing for balance, but there’s nothing for him to do except accept it. And he absolutely, completely does not know how to handle that.
- "H-hold up—wait—what the hell?" The words tumble from his lips in a startled bark of laughter, his hands instinctively clutching at your shoulders. His blue eyes are wide, scanning your face for some kind of explanation. "You just—how did you—?" His brain stutters over itself, trying to make sense of it. It’s not that he thinks you’re weak—hell no—but he knows how heavy he is, how solidly he’s built, and the fact that you lifted him like he was nothing? That’s something else entirely.
- Then, of course, the reality of it sinks in, and Roy Harper, being Roy Harper, does what he does best—he leans into it. "Damn, babe," he whistles, his signature smirk creeping across his face. "If I’d known you were this strong, I’d have made you carry me around ages ago." He shifts slightly in your arms, testing your grip, then settles in with an exaggerated sigh, draping an arm over his forehead like a damsel in distress. "Guess I don’t need to hit the gym anymore—got myself a personal lifter right here."
- And when you finally put him down? He doesn’t walk away. No, he sticks close, bumping his hip against yours, looking up at you with a mix of mischief and something warmer. "You’re full of surprises," he murmurs, his voice dropping just slightly, almost thoughtful. And then, with a wicked grin, he adds, "So... how do you feel about carrying me to bed, sweetheart?"
Koriand’r (Starfire)
- Koriand’r is no stranger to flight, to weightlessness, to the effortless way she moves through the sky with the sun’s fire at her back. But being lifted by you—by your hands, your strength, your unwavering confidence—is something she has never felt before. And it stuns her. Not out of fear, nor shock, nor disbelief—no, it is something softer, something warmer, something that spreads through her chest like the first rays of dawn.
- "Oh!" The delighted gasp slips from her lips as her arms instinctively wrap around your neck, golden eyes blinking in wide-eyed surprise. For a moment, she simply looks at you, studying your face, as if committing this feeling to memory. And then, as quickly as the surprise came, it melts into sheer, unrestrained joy. "Oh, my love!" she exclaims, her voice a bright melody of laughter, her fingers tangling in your hair as she tilts her head. "This is wonderful!"
- She does not hesitate to make herself comfortable, resting easily in your hold, her warmth seeping into your skin like sunlight. "You are so strong!" she praises, her voice dripping with admiration, her eyes glowing with pure, genuine awe. "Why did you not tell me before? We could have done this so many times!" There is no embarrassment, no hesitation—only the full, boundless embrace of a woman who loves fiercely, who takes nothing for granted, who cherishes this moment for all it is.
- And later, when you place her back down, she does not simply walk away. No, she hovers, her hands still cradling your face, her lips pressing a kiss—soft, lingering, grateful—against your cheek. "I must carry you next," she declares, her voice rich with excitement. "It is only fair!" And then, before you can protest, she sweeps you into her arms, laughing as she soars into the sky, twirling you through the air in a radiant, dizzying dance of love.
Kara Zor-El (Supergirl)
- Kara Zor-El is used to being the strongest person in the room. She has spent her life holding back, careful with every touch, every movement, every breath, always hyper-aware of her own power. But you—lifting her so effortlessly, holding her as if her strength does not matter—it knocks the breath from her lungs in a way no villain, no kryptonite, ever has.
- "Wha—wait, what?" Her voice is higher than usual, startled, her hands gripping your shoulders instinctively as her legs dangle in the air. Her wide, blue eyes blink rapidly, scanning your face for some sort of answer. "You—you picked me up?" She sounds offended for a split second before the reality of it truly hits her, before the corners of her lips twitch and something suspiciously close to a giggle bubbles in her throat. "You picked me up."
- And then she’s laughing—full-bodied, bright, joyful—because it’s so ridiculous, so absurd, and so absolutely wonderful. "Oh my god," she wheezes, her head dropping against your shoulder as she shakes with laughter. "I love this." She leans back, resting easily in your arms, grinning up at you with an expression so full of delight it’s almost blinding. "How are you this strong? Have you been holding out on me? Are you secretly Kryptonian? Oh my god, are we long-lost cousins? Should I call Clark?"
- When you finally put her down, she immediately tests you again—jumping at you with zero warning, wrapping her arms around your neck, trusting you to catch her. And when you do? She beams. "Again," she demands, eyes bright with exhilaration. "Again!" And suddenly, she’s obsessed. She will never let this go. You have doomed yourself to a lifetime of Supergirl dramatically flinging herself into your arms at the most inconvenient moments.
Slade Wilson (Deathstroke)
- Slade Wilson does not like surprises. He is a man who calculates every outcome, who moves with precision, who keeps his world meticulously controlled. He does not get caught off guard. But this—the sudden shift in gravity, the impossible strength behind your touch, the way his feet leave the ground—this is a surprise so profound that, for one fleeting second, the legendary Deathstroke is stunned.
- His single eye narrows sharply, his body tensing instinctively, a thousand battle instincts screaming at him to react. But there is no attack, no enemy—only you, holding him like he is something fragile, something weightless, something you can control without effort. And that—that—is what truly catches him off guard. "Well," he rumbles, his voice dangerously low, "this is new."
- He does not panic. He does not flail or struggle. No, Slade Wilson merely analyzes, his sharp mind whirring as he studies your face, his expression unreadable. And then, slowly—so slowly it’s almost imperceptible—the corners of his lips twitch into something that is almost amusement. "You’ve been keeping secrets," he murmurs, the faintest ghost of a smirk curving his lips. "That’s dangerous."
- When you finally set him down, he does not step away. No, he lingers, his presence a solid, immovable force as he tilts his head, watching you with something unreadable in his gaze. And then, just as you think the moment has passed, he reaches out—gripping your wrist with a strength that rivals your own. "My turn," he states simply, before sweeping you up effortlessly, his smirk widening as he watches your expression shift. "Now, let’s see how you handle surprises."
Kent Nelson (Doctor Fate)
- Kent Nelson is a man who has lived through centuries of battles, his mind tethered to the ancient wisdom of Nabu, weighed down by the knowledge of the cosmos. He is not easily shaken. He has fought demons, walked through dimensions where the laws of gravity bend and break, and seen the rise and fall of civilizations. And yet, for all his experience, for all his wisdom, nothing—nothing—could have prepared him for the moment when you pick him up like he is no heavier than a feather caught in the wind.
- His body stills immediately, the flowing gold of his cloak pooling in your arms, his gauntleted hands frozen mid-motion as if his mind is struggling to catch up with his reality. He has faced eldritch horrors that defy comprehension, but this—this is something else entirely. "...Interesting." The word is measured, calm, but you can hear the faint edge of bewilderment in his voice. Beneath the helmet of Fate, his expression remains unreadable, but you can feel the way he is processing. Analyzing. Calculating how this is even possible.
- "There are few beings in existence who could accomplish this," he finally murmurs, and the weight of his words is almost laughable. But there is something else beneath them—something softer. Awe. Intrigue. A deep and abiding reverence for the unknown, for the mysteries of the universe that even he has yet to unravel. And right now? You are one of those mysteries. A puzzle he had not anticipated, but one he finds himself eager to solve. His fingers trail along your shoulder, light as a whisper, as if trying to feel the power beneath your skin.
- And then, in a rare moment of levity, the corners of his lips curve into something that is not quite a smile but something like it. "I wonder," he muses, "if Nabu knew about this." There is an unmistakable note of amusement in his voice, and you can tell—tell—that he is already planning the next time he can test your strength again. Doctor Fate may be bound to destiny, but Kent Nelson? Kent Nelson has just discovered something infinitely more interesting than fate itself: you.
Rachel Roth (Raven)
- Raven is used to control, to restraint. She has spent her life mastering herself, holding back, ensuring that nothing—not a single tremor of emotion—escapes without her permission. But control means nothing when you sweep her off her feet without warning. One moment, she is standing in the comfort of your presence, and the next, the world tilts—her balance stolen, gravity defied—and she finds herself cradled in your arms.
- "What—" The word is cut off, her breath catching in her throat, violet eyes wide and blinking as if she has glitched. It is not fear—Raven does not fear you—but it is shock, raw and unfiltered, slipping past the walls she has so carefully constructed. No one lifts her. No one dares. She is Raven, daughter of Trigon, wielder of darkness, but you—you lift her as though she is made of something far lighter, far softer. "...How?" The question is quiet, but laced with something dangerously close to wonder.
- And then, after a long, weighted pause, her lips part again. "Put me down." The words are flat, carefully neutral, but the telltale blush dusting her pale cheeks betrays her. You hold her a moment longer—just long enough to see the way her fingers twitch as if fighting the urge to grab onto you—and then, finally, you comply. The moment her feet touch the ground, she crosses her arms, tilting her chin slightly as if regaining her composure. But the faintest flicker of amusement sparks in her eyes. "You could have warned me."
- But later—later—when she thinks you aren’t looking, you catch her staring at you. Calculating. Considering. And the next time she finds herself in your arms? There is no sharp inhale, no startled demand to be put down. There is only the way her hands rest lightly on your shoulders, the way she allows herself to lean into your warmth. And if, just once, you hear the quietest whisper of "Again." as she buries her face in your neck, well... you say nothing.
Zatanna Zatara
- Zatanna is a performer. She has dazzled crowds, charmed audiences, and bent the very fabric of reality to her will with a flourish of her hands. She is a woman who makes the impossible look effortless. But what she does not expect—what she cannot predict—is you pulling a trick of your own. One moment, she is speaking, hands gesturing mid-sentence, and the next, she is in the air, her words dissolving into a startled gasp as she finds herself in your arms.
- "Well, hello there!" she exclaims, blinking in surprise before laughter spills from her lips, bright and genuine. "Was that part of the show? Because if so, I think I missed my cue." Her dark lashes flutter as she tilts her head, studying you with a slow, appreciative smirk. "And here I thought I was the one full of surprises." The twinkle in her eyes is unmistakable, a magician recognizing another masterful trick.
- "You have to tell me how you did that," she continues, wrapping her arms around your neck in a movement so seamless, so graceful, that it’s as if she was always meant to be there. "Strength spell? Secret training? Or—" she leans in, voice dropping to a playful whisper, "are you actually just a natural-born showstopper?" There is no flustered stammering, no embarrassment—only delight, only curiosity, only the unmistakable thrill of discovering something new.
- When you finally place her back down, she takes a step back, then claps her hands together. "Again." The demand is immediate, playful. "I need to know if it was a fluke! We must test this thoroughly." And just like that, you have created a monster. Zatanna will not let this go. From this day forward, any time she catches you off guard, she will jump at you just to see if you’ll catch her. And when you inevitably do? She’ll flash you that signature grin and purr, "Abracadabra, darling."
Dinah Lance (Black Canary)
- Dinah is a woman who stands her ground. She is not used to being swept off her feet—not figuratively, and certainly not literally. So when you do it, when you lift her with effortless ease, her first instinct is not to gasp, nor to flail. No, her first instinct is to fight. Her muscles tense instinctively, her fists clenching as if ready to counter, before her brain catches up and realizes—oh. Oh.
- "No way," she breathes, blinking as her lips part in pure, undiluted shock. "No. Freaking. Way." She actually leans back in your hold, looking at you with something between disbelief and sheer respect. "You’re kidding." Her voice wavers with something suspiciously close to laughter. "You did not just pick me up." But you did, and it is glorious.
- And then—because she is Dinah Lance—she grins. "Damn," she exhales, whistling low. "Okay, okay, I see you." And just like that, her shock melts into admiration, her blue eyes practically glowing with mischief. "Guess I better step up my training, huh? Can’t have my own girlfriend outmuscling me." She claps your shoulder when you set her down, shaking her head with a smirk. "That was impressive."
- But from that day forward? Dinah challenges you. Random push-up contests, lifting competitions, anything to test just how strong you really are. And if you ever lift her again? She just throws her head back and laughs, wrapping her arms around your neck and whispering, "Alright, babe—you win this round."
Wally West (The Flash)
- Wally West is used to moving faster than the eye can see, faster than thought, faster than the speed of sound. He is kinetic energy made flesh, a man who cannot be caught, cannot be contained. He is motion incarnate. So when you lift him off his feet—effortlessly—the sheer absurdity of it freezes him in place. His body, which has always been a blur of momentum, stops. And for the first time in his life, Wally West is utterly, completely still.
- "Whoa—whoa, whoa, whoa!" His voice cracks mid-exclamation, his arms flailing comically before his brain catches up. "What just happened? Did I trip? Did I pass out? Did I break the time stream again?" His hands immediately pat down his own chest, as if confirming that he is still in his body, that this is, in fact, reality. But the reality is this: you are holding him, carrying him without effort, and that? That should be impossible.
- His blue eyes widen, blinking rapidly as he stares at you in stunned disbelief. "You picked me up?" The words are barely above a whisper, his voice laced with an almost childlike awe. "You—just—picked me up?" And then, all at once, his expression shifts. His lips curl into a slow, mischievous grin, and a spark of amusement ignites in his gaze. "Oh, I see how it is," he drawls, looping his arms around your neck as if settling in. "You like sweeping me off my feet, huh?"
- From that moment forward, he turns it into a game. He will actively try to surprise you, using his speed to dodge your attempts—only to deliberately slow down at the last second so you can catch him anyway. And when you do? He laughs, bright and carefree, resting his forehead against yours with a smirk. "You got me again," he murmurs, voice warm with adoration. "Guess I’m falling for you all over again."
Victor Stone (Cyborg)
- Victor Stone is not easy to move, let alone lift. He is composed of reinforced titanium alloys, advanced cybernetics, a living fusion of man and machine. He knows exactly how much he weighs. He knows the sheer impossibility of what you are attempting. So when you do—when you lift him without struggle, without hesitation—his internal scanners glitch.
- "No way," he mutters, his voice layered with static interference as if his systems are struggling to process. His red cybernetic eye flickers slightly, running rapid recalibrations, recalculating physics itself. "Hold up—nah, this ain’t right." His brow furrows, fingers flexing as he subtly shifts his weight in your arms, testing your grip. But you do not falter. You hold him—steady, sure, unyielding. And for the first time in years, Victor Stone feels weightless.
- "I don’t know whether to be impressed or offended," he finally says, his tone a perfect balance of deadpan and deep amusement. "Like, damn, babe—this whole time, I thought I was the strong one." But beneath the teasing, there is something softer. Curiosity. Admiration. And something he does not voice, but you know he feels—trust. He has spent years reinforcing himself, ensuring that no one could ever carry him again, that he would never be helpless. And yet, in your arms, he does not feel lesser. He feels safe.
- When you finally set him down, he exhales a low whistle, shaking his head with a grin. "Alright, alright—you got me," he admits, rolling his shoulders. "But next time? You gotta let me return the favor." And sure enough, he does. He waits for the perfect moment—when you least expect it—before scooping you up effortlessly, his deep laughter echoing as he grins down at you. "Yeah, see? Feels kinda nice, don’t it?"
Garfield Logan (Beast Boy)
- The moment you lift Garfield Logan, his brain short-circuits. His limbs flail wildly, his mouth opens in a silent gasp, and his entire body goes stiff as if he has just been yeeted into an alternate dimension. His emerald green eyes go comically wide, and his next breath comes out in a strangled, "WH—?!"
- "Did you just—?" His voice cracks mid-sentence. "Did you just pick me up?!" His hands instinctively grasp at your shoulders, but his fingers don’t clutch—they cling, as if his entire existence depends on holding on for dear life. "Dude. Babe. Love of my life. My entire world. Are you—are you even real? Because this? This should be illegal."
- And then, the realization fully hits him. The shock melts into something else. Something dangerous. His lips twitch, his expression morphing into pure gremlin energy. "Ohhh, this changes everything," he cackles, his voice practically vibrating with mischief. "You know what this means, right?" He leans in, his green skin practically glowing with delight. "You are now legally responsible for carrying me everywhere."
- And true to his word, he commits. The moment you set him down, he refuses to accept it. He will dramatically throw himself into your arms at every opportunity. Walking? Nope. Lifting weights? Absolutely not. Why would he ever do that when he has you? "Babe, please," he whines, arms outstretched, giving you the biggest, saddest puppy eyes imaginable. "I was made for this life. I belong in your arms. Carry me. Carry me like one of your French girls."
Lobo
- Lobo is not used to being moved—by anyone. He is a Czarnian, a being of unmatched strength and durability, a walking tank with enough raw power to go toe-to-toe with Superman. He has never been overpowered, never been handled. So when you do it—when you lift him with ease—his entire soul leaves his body.
- "What the frag?!" The expletive leaves him in a near roar, his crimson eyes blazing with shock. His first instinct is to fight, muscles tensing, but then he realizes—you’re not even struggling. You are holding him like he weighs nothing. The Main Man. The Last Czarnian. In your arms. And it is so baffling, so completely ridiculous, that he just... stares.
- And then—then—he starts laughing. Howling. "Oh, this is priceless," he chokes out between laughs, his voice booming. "You just—pfft—you just picked up Lobo like he’s a damn kitten?!" His laughter is raucous, unrestrained, but there is no resentment. No wounded pride. If anything, he looks at you with a newfound respect. "Alright, babe, I see how it is. You got guts."
- But Lobo is not one to be one-upped. "Next time, though?" He leans in close, his grin sharp and challenging. "I ain’t goin’ down without a fight. You wanna sweep me off my feet? You better earn it." And true to his word, he tests you after that—deliberately throwing his weight at you, seeing if you can keep up. And when you do? When you always catch him, every single time? He lets out a deep, satisfied chuckle, wraps a massive arm around your waist, and murmurs, "Damn. I really hit the jackpot, didn’t I?”

Things/Songs I Associate With the Deities I Worship
(part 1)
Hello! I'm grateful to those who follow me so far thank you very much, I hope to make my blog a bit more interesting!
For this very short series, I will be posting on the deities I mostly worship, which are Lady Athena and Lady Aphrodite. You can also consider this list based on upg associations, and I hope you enjoy reading this. I also dedicate this post to specifically Lady Athena.
Associations;
Medicine/doctors/pre-meds/Medical students/residents in hospitals, and the symbols of a snake around a staff (I know that is more of Apollo's, Aesculapius, Caduceus, and Hermes symbol, but since Athena is also associated with snakes and healing, I also associate her with the symbol).
Other careers such as; Teachers, lawyers, news reporter, historians, nurses, anthropologist, architecture, and fashion design, pianist, painter, biologist, and writers.
College/grad school.
Purple, green sage, blue, and silver.
Cats, owls, dog's, deers, white butterflies, and eagles.
Strawberries, grapes, olive oil, nuts/almonds, rice, chocolate, bread, and tea/coffee.
Dragons
Music genre; Jazz and pop
Artists: Bad Bunny, Beyonce, Raveena, The Marias, Fleetwood Mac, Phoebe Bridgers, BTS, and Mitski.
Particular songs; The Chain/Songbird/Rhiannon (Fleetwood Mac), Sienna (The Marias), Ghost in the Machine (SZA and Phoebe Bridgers), Silver Into Rain (Luna Li and Beabadoobee), Would You Rather/Motion Sickness/Scott Street (Phoebe Bridgers), My Rose/16 Carriages/Freedom (feat. Kendrick Lamar)/Diva/Flawless (Beyonce), The way things go and Coming Home (Beabadoobee), Oh Que Sera? (Willie Colon), Sometimes (H.E.R), Salt Water and Stronger (Raveena), Viva La Vida (Cold Play), Rises the moon (Liana Flores), Your Song (Elton John), Let it Be (The Beetles), Happiness/mirrorball/my tears ricochet (Taylor Swift), Good Days (SZA), Slipping Through My Fingers (ABBA), Red Velvet (Big Theif), DtMF/CAFe CON RON/ TURiSTA/BAILE INVoLVIDABLE/LA MuDANZA/LO QUE LE PASO A HAWAii/Solia/La Dificil (Bad Bunny) (there are so many more but I'll stop here).
Epithet UPG (since this whole list is a UPG); Athena Asklepios: I call to her with this epithet (non-historical) when studying for anything medicine related.
Dairies/journal, planners, and watercolor paintings.
Movies; Howl's Moving Castle, The Boy and The Heron, An Almost Christmas Story (an animated short film), and Moana.
Therapy or career mentors.
Libraries, museums, and art gallery.
Smells associations (UPG); Lavender, Chamomile, Lemon, Cinnamon, and new books (my apologies if this is weird lol).
Roadtrips and maps, books, and technology.
That will be all :)) 💖 (Credit: Divider by @vibeswithrenai)

masterlist of episodes featuring prof duncan? I only JUST made the connection that he's played by john oliver
fantastic idea anon. I’m honestly surprised I haven't made this list yet as I am an avid duncan enjoyer lmfao and yes john oliver is great. so I’ll make the list right now. here we go:
the feat. professor duncan episode masterlist
1x01: pilot
he is the reason jeff chose to enroll at greendale
he has multiple interactions with jeff throughout the episode
1x04: social psychology
annie, troy, and abed participate in his psychological experiment in which he proves the existence of "the duncan principle"
1x05: advanced criminal law
duncan, dean pelton, and chang create "greendale court" in order to put britta's alleged academic dishonesty on trial
1x25: pascal's triangle revisited
first shown doing a therapy session with britta
constantly fighting with chang, escalating into chang punching him at the end
does his iconic rap after he gets drunk at the transfer dance
2x03: the psychology of letting go
takes over as the anthropology professor despite knowing nothing about the subject
uses the restraining order he got against chang to torment him
has a few conversations with jeff about the inevitability of death
is civil with chang by the end of the episode
2x05: messianic myths and ancient peoples
exclusively shown "teaching" the anthropology 101 class
2x11: abed's uncontrollable christmas
leads abed's "therapy" session but is generally unhelpful
2x12: asian population studies
again, just shown "teaching" anthropology 101
2x15: early 21st century romanticism
watches the liverpool vs. manchester united football game with jeff at jeff's apartment
has conversations with jeff about friendship and greendale etc.
2x21: paradigms of human memory
appears very briefly in a flashback to the events of "abed's uncontrollable christmas"
2x22: applied anthropology and culinary arts
is shown again at the head of the anthropology class, this time "administering their final" (getting drunk) but disappears very quickly as soon as the dean walks in
5x03: basic intergluteal numismatics
"helps" with the psychological aspect of the ass crack bandit investigation
(you might notice he is not in seasons 3 or 4. irl it's because he got too busy with his other projects, but in the show his character explains that he was "taking care of his sick mother")
5x05: geothermal escapism
shown briefly playing the floor is lava game, but loses very quickly after jeff knocks over the chair that he was going to jump on while chasing britta
5x06: analysis of cork-based networking
shown as a member of the save greendale committee
helps jeff, shirley, and chang choose a theme and decorate for the dance (bear down for midterms)
5x07: bondage and beta male sexuality
asks jeff to help him scheme a way into getting a date with britta, which ends up backfiring
ends up hanging out a lot with jeff. this episode re-establishes that the two of them have known each other longer than any of the other characters
5x11: g.i. jeff
appears briefly only in jeff's animated dream, as "xim xam"
(so, I guess it's not technically duncan, but it's jeff's g.i. joe dream version of duncan, so I’m counting it)
5x12: basic story
appears again as a member of the save greendale committee
5x13: basic sandwich
tries to help the save greendale committee uncover the hidden computer school but gets electrocuted lmfao
alright yep. that should be all. I personally went through the credits of every single episode to double check everything because I do not trust the lists that are already online tbh. full of discrepancies smh. also, yeah, he is indeed not in seasons 3, 4, or 6. anyway! hope this is helpful. duncan is hilarious and every single line that comes out of his mouth is comedy gold. bye

What’s fascinating about former U.S. President Donald Trump’s return to the White House is that he is both replicating former President Grover Cleveland’s rare feat of two nonconsecutive terms and is doing so on a tariff policy that would make Cleveland’s final successor, William McKinley, blush. The world may still be getting its bearings after Trump’s landslide victory, but historians of the 19th century are in fine fettle.
Trump, who took tariffs to new depths in his first term, has promised to make them the centerpiece of his second-term economic agenda—alongside tax cuts, a bigger deficit, possible cuts to the safety net, and a reversal of everything outgoing President Joe Biden has done.
The questions about Trump’s tariff plans boil down to: How big, how soon, how, why, and what happens next?
The “how big” is tricky. Trump talked about a 20 percent tariff on all trading partners and 60 percent on China. He also mentioned tariffs as high as 200 percent, and whether that’s for individual firms (such as John Deere’s foreign imports) or countries that cross him, who knows? Economic modelers do not yet have a way to peer into Trump’s mind.
The “how soon” is also hard to answer, because that depends on the why and how. In his first term, Trump was able to levy tariffs—to be clear, those are effectively taxes on imports paid by U.S. consumers and businesses—on everything from Chinese appliances to German steel. There were, and are, statutory means to do so, notably Section 301 of U.S. trade law that allows for tariffs on countries that compete unfairly, as China has manifestly done since it joined the World Trade Organization a quarter century ago. Imports assessed by the U.S. government to undermine national security, such as Turkish rebar used to hold up buildings, can be hit with tariffs under Section 232 of the 1974 National Trade Act.
Not everyone believes that the White House can hijack trade policy, since trade is technically still in the purview of Congress. But there is a lot of leeway for presidential action under numerated sections of old trade policy and the devolved authority that comes from having the courts side with the executive branch. He could do it all again or face lengthy fights in the courts, in which case it would be a while before his tariffs hit full swing. Nobody knows.
The “why” remains puzzling. Trump himself has mooted tariffs as a replacement for income taxes—an homage to McKinley. His supporters, on the other hand, say the proposed tariffs are only negotiating leverage to get trade partners to play ball. Play ball how? Trump’s “greatest deal ever” with China resulted in few U.S. exports and zero change in China’s manipulation of loans, laws, and subsidies to finance its export workshop to the world. U.S. tariff rates are now higher than those of most trading partners. If the United States has a gaping trade deficit—which it does, and it only grew larger under Trump—and if that deficit mattered at all, how would strong-arming trading partners redress that? Nobody knows.
Answering what happens next is perhaps easier: a trade war. Europe has already manned the ramparts; those poor souls in France who ride Harleys and drink Jim Beam will rue the day. China will let the yuan slide until its amphibious ships are ready to restore order. Emerging markets are buying sand for sandbags, only it has all gotten pricier overnight.
Europe, in the form of both European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and bigwigs such as French President Emmanuel Macron, has already tendered an olive branch, fearing what it knows is in store.

[BlazBlue] Yukiryu: A sleek naginata that transforms into a Murakumo-type Unit blade once Naize triggered her Blood Caine Art, instead of changing into a scythe like Ragna, she instead makes phantom blades to assist her in battle ala Vergil from DMC.
[BG3/DnD/Castlevania] Slumbered Flametongue Sword: A sword imbued in the flames of Nessus, given to Naize after she reached a hundred years old by Asmodeus, behaves similarly to a typical flametongue sword but won't be activated unless Naize is the one using it.
[BG3/DnD/Marvel/DC/DMC/Castlevania/DunMeshi] Ensanguined Emberblade: A legendary flametongue greatsword with the awakened powers blessed by Asmodeus, Naize now uses this awakened weapon after defeating a corrupted fire genasi under the patron's orders, channeling the wrath of Nessus through it with burning slashes and inferno bursts that sometimes will hurt Naize if she isn't being careful with it.
[Matthew's RWBYverse] Arthurian Blade: A large claymore made by the heaviest metal found in the Duchy of Gallione with no Dust property or secondary property. It is just a very heavy sword, serving the Arthurian legend where no one could wield it but Naize herself.
General talents:
Superhuman feats; strength, dexterity, superspeed and high stamina
Doesn't really sleep (BG3/DnD/DunMeshi) as she has wood elf traits
Regeneration (worse injuries took her days or months, accelerated if she drinks blood)
Noted, detailed talents:
[BlazBlue] Mostly have all abilities like the original; Ragna has, her build and skills mostly are Dexterity based instead of Strength, relies on heavy combos for the perfect DPS succession
[BG3/DnD] Mostly Dexterity based skills, able to shapeshift into a bat, large bat and a huge dire wolf (similar to Alucard)
[Marvel/DC] Similar BG3/DnD build, but Naize also can turn into plumes of smoke and hides in people's shadows for perfect stealth
[DMC] Relies heavy on Asmodeus as the devil being her fount of power, attacking the enemies as she and Asmodeus channel their synchrocity together with Naize's blade and Asmodeus' magic, also maintains her Dexterity build and dhampiric traits from DnD/BG3
[Matthew's RWBYverse] Pure Strength build. Being the protector of Gallione, Naize would never be shy to be at the frontline, her Semblance; ironically named Devour (a similar reference to what Ragna's Azure Grimoire would do), will make Naize grow stronger and stronger as long as she gets to hit the enemy as their blood that channels through the Arthurian Blade kept her going. Able to sprout bat-like wings to fly around
[Castlevania] Similar perks and talents like Alucard, relies heavily on her spells while cutting into the enemy with Ensanguined Emberblade, sharing similar attributes as a dhampir like Alucard regarding telekinesis, shapeshifting. Asmodeus also joins in to protect his warlock at all cost
[DunMeshi] Balanced Strength and Dexterity build, Naize relies on the perfect offense and magical assistance from Asmodeus' by being able to reach the desired target with her dhampiric abilities and striking them true, utilizing their DPS stats, able to change into a wolf or a raven for scouting ahead
Noted personalities:
[BlazBlue] Reserved, calm, cautious around new people, always have a soft spot for Ragna and Noel, hated Jin with every fibre of her being, despises Yuki Terumi, able to tell someone's intention as she has a high insight
[BG3/DnD] Boisterous when she isn't Lady Naizeriel, cheeky, warm and bashful to matters regarding Ramiel, very protective and serious over her friends and comrades in case they're in danger
[Marvel/DC] Curious, love to learn new things, charismatic in nature and prefer words over violence unless necessary, helpful and doesn't like her kindness taken for granted
[Matthew's RWBYverse] Bitter in personality, doesn't let past traumatic experiences get in her way of chiding Ozpin's decisions, protective over her fellow Gallionians and prefers putting herself on the front lines, heavily maintains a nothing-to-lose attitude
[Castlevania] Nurturing, kind, protective over Alucard most of the time, enjoys her closeness with Alucard and Sypha, loves to tease Trevor, acts very warm towards Dracula and Lisa before Lisa's death, despises Carmilla for what she had done to Dracula
[DMC] Always has been in Dante's shadow to protect him ever since he lost Eva, but never showed herself until Vergil appeared after many years, warm and helpful towards the DMC group and doesn't mind dying if she can get the Sparda twins to reconcile, keeps a good eye on Nero and always has grown suspicious of V
[DunMeshi] Mother hen of the group, decided to tag along because mostly she's worried about Laios, warm towards others despite everyone knows of her half undead heritage and didn't mind putting herself in the front of line for them she cared about
Noted weaknesses:
Often puts herself in the front of the line, sacrificing herself for her friends and comrades, thinking it's better her getting injured and not anyone else.
Lost a limb to Cazador in a fit of anger to save Astarion, leaving her for dead at Edward's door; sent by Astarion too just to twist the knife.
Her status as a half undead made Naize grow rather reckless in battle, making the dhampir turn into a martyr when things got critical due to how fast she could heal or how she couldn't die like any other vampire could.
Her overprotectiveness often worries her fellow Gallionians as she has always been on the frontline every time she hunts Grimms with the Outrider Knights, almost losing her life once when a knight was pinned by a dragon-type Grimm, Naize ended up taking a large swipe on the shoulder, almost severing her arm.
A hard headed person in nature, didn't mind letting herself get stabbed with Dante and Vergil were fighting as her promise to Eva is what kept her going.
Her weapons, Ensanguined Emberblade is a legendary weapon that often hurt Naize if her strikes weren't finessed, the Arthurian Blade makes Naize a very reckless fighter on the field, sending her out to the field being a martyr due to her Semblance: Devour ever since witnessed a fellow Faunus by the name of Vinson Sable died under her leadership, despite him being a fellow Ensanguined like her, she vowed to always be stronger to prevent it happening ever again.
A well placed stake in her chest rendered her to slumber instead of death, reasons how she missed two centuries of knowing her parents' whereabouts in Marvel/DC universe.
Have been kissing Death at their door so many times as she can be a very reckless person once she knew her loved ones are involved, Death in Marvel has known Naize personally for that.
In BG3/DnD, Naize's weakness is only running water, reasons why she prefers flying or travelling as a dire wolf if on foot, she also find food tasteless to her, she only eats out of courtesy and having curiosity in the textures, do not ask her how the food taste, she probably will lie to you.
Most of the time, Naize would feel out of place as she is experiencing time lock where everyone and everything around her ages and she hardly couldn't, making forming relationships or friendships often scare her a lot is the huge factor why she prefers being reckless, hoping she can die to join her friends in the afterlife.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in BlazBlueverse:
Naize is a copy of Ragna the Bloodedge, created by Edward Gallagher and Cassius Sedrinne, Edward gave Naize a purpose to stop Ragna in case he becomes out of control, Cassius on the other hand wanted to have Naize as a weapon to conquer the world, trying to betray Edward behind his back, essentially the two researchers killed one another with Cassius almost becoming another Arakune case; ended up getting killed by Naize when she found Edward murdered.
- Respecting Edward's final request to stay alive and keeping an eye on Ragna, she has been dutifully followed the orders and has been around to fish Ragna out of trouble.
- Reaching the events of Centralfiction, Naize decided to roam the world, still committing her promise with the late Edward. Feeling Ragna's disappearance, she decided to visit the grave where Noel erected in his name, letting Yukiryu to stand next to Aramasa, she bid to Ragna farewell before disappearing as her existence is no longer needed since Ragna, the original has ceased his function.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in Baldur's Gate 3/Dungeons and Dragons:
[Background: Noble], [Race: Dhampir]
Naize is a well-known adventurer in all of Baldur's Gate and Sword Coast as Naize the Merc, a mercenary for hire depends on your morale and coin, however she doesn't usually charge you for the entire amount as she is a noble who lives rather humbly outside of the Gallagherian Castle.
- Birth: Edward is able to master the highest spell regarding necromancy and makes a deal with Asmodeus to help him and Eivana conceive a child as he had done a similar feat with late Claudia, making Asmodeus the godfather of Naize at a certain age in the future thus becoming her fount of power.
- Losing her right arm after being defeated by Cazador Szarr to save Astarion, Naize was healed and offered help by Asmodeus to increase her power so she can use her blade for good, thus Naize becomes Asmodeus' warlock and decided to train to become a better swordswoman, mostly training herself so she can defeat Cazador and setting the Szarr's spawns free, earning herself Ensanguined Emberblade which is her trademark weapon.
- Using her people's skills and being a charismatic dhampir, she later on (in BG3: was kidnapped by the mind flayers, in DnD: was kidnapped by the Cult of the Unbound) due to her connection as a mercenary + someone with a noble background and huge influence in Baldur's Gate.
- Nonetheless, Naize pushed through her demise and thrived to be a better protector of Baldur's Gate no matter her undead race traits. Naize has been traveling with a human cleric who is now her long time partner known by everyone as Ramiel Caldwell.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in Marvel:
A dhampir living for 300+ years, Naize was found by a group of tomb raiders that broke into the Gallagherian Castle that is now abandoned after being ambushed by a group of religious crusaders. Naize was able to help her parents to safety, leaving her to fend the crusaders herself, overwhelmed; she managed to convince them to stake her instead, putting Naize to a two hundred years worth of slumber instead of killing her.
- Once awake in the modern era, Naize woke up once the raiders found her in her tomb, ended up killing them as she learned they had desecrated her place of rest. Asmodeus then appears, worried for his goddaughter after her demise with the crusaders, telling her what happened to her parents; confirmed to be alive still after she helped them.
- Now, being an ancient creature learns her way into the modern era, able to use her previous social skills and learning quips on the go. Once learning that the city has always been in danger night and day, Naize decided to use her elusive dhampiric talents to serve her own justice.
- Found by Blade in a misunderstanding, they clashed swords before he noted who she was; a dhampir that was before him told by Whistler and she has been staying with Blade ever since, joining him to hunt unruly vampires or usually went for a manhunt, feeding off unrepentants.
- Between the two, Naize mostly didn't mind helping other heroes out joining the Avengers, but would leave afterwards as she prefers her kind of vigilante which often grinds Steve's gears once in a while.
- Naize's role for now is being a dhampir that stood in between the line of where the supernatural and the mortal kind exist and always has been playing fair to kill the unruly and the unrepentant in Asmodeus' name.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in DC:
Similar introduction to Marvel, being staked and awake to the modern era by a group of tomb raiders, knowing her parents are safe, Naize decided to live in Gotham for a while, being a librarian by the day and a vigilante in the night, feeding off the unrepentants and the unruly in Asmodeus' name before discovered by Batman and John Constantine.
- Naize has indeed many times eluded them as Bruce has often tried to include her into Justice League's activities, she accepted and often follows anyone that needed the supernatural assistance from her as her connection with Asmodeus helped her traverse anything regarding that topic.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in Matthew's RWBYverse:
The duchess of Gallione, Naize has grown to be a strong yet bitter woman as she had lost her partner, Ramiel Caldwell when he was involved in the slaying of the Behemoth.
- Living in Gallione and becoming its ruler and protector, Naize has always been on the frontlines with her fellow knights, creating few units to protect and serve the people of Gallione:
Outrider Knights - A unit for Hunters and Huntresses
Dreadknights/used to be known as Juggerknights - A unit for internal human affairs and conflicts
Eclipsoars - An aerial unit consists of aerial Faunuses and airborne Ensanguined
(These are provided by Matthew, the owner of the RWBY: Black Reliquaries series on YouTube - now privated due to personal reasons)
- Always has a disdain and distaste towards Ozpin, knowing well his history and never liked the idea of anyone in Remnant building schools and creating soldiers out of youngsters but helped team RWBY nonetheless when they sought refuge in Gallione.
- Gallione in the Black Reliquaries series has been holding onto a piece of the twelve Relics; known to many as the Black Labrum.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in DMC:
A dhampir born into the Gallagher family, daughter of a necromancer, Lord Edward Gallagher and his beloved human wife, Eivana, Naize has been a professional swordswoman and spellcaster under Asmodeus' guidance.
- Ever since the Gallagher family had learned of a certain demon named Sparda decided to rebel against the demonic brethren, Asmodeus had decreed that Naize should assist Sparda in closing the gates of Hell from Mundus bringing his army into the mortal world. Eva's relationship with Naize and the Gallaghers have been growing strong ever since.
- Once Mundus murdered Dante and Vergil's mother in the fire, Naize was able to scoop Eva's dying body in her arms, begging the mortal to stay alive and had pondered if she could revive Eva as a vampire but Eva refused as she wished to die peacefully but asked the dhampir to protect her sons in case there is danger that should befell them for being children of Sparda.
- Taking the oath, Naize has been playing guardian angel by hiding in Dante's shadows and often guiding him by alerting him to possible dangers and shows him where to go since Vergil has apparently been lost in the fire.
- Surprised to see Vergil opposing Dante made Naize feel guilty as she wasn't able to find Vergil and correct the blue son of Sparda in time thus she made her appearance to always prevent the two brothers from killing one another.
- Naize was missing in action during DMC4 as she went away after someone tried to bind Asmodeus back to Hell as he has been residing with Naize on mortal plane for far too long as the residents of Hell learned of Asmodeus' distaste against Mundus for what he did to Sparda.
- DMC5 rolls around and Naize had met Nero and Nico once she learnt what happened to Dante and Vergil, surprised that the team basically separated because of Urizen; Vergil's demon half. Naize mostly helped Nero when it comes to tougher enemies and was surprised to hear the truth of Nero's birth and origins, later on continue to tag along with Dante in his further adventures.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in Castlevania:
The first dhampir to be born somewhere in Wallachia, daughter of a known necromancer and a bard, Lord Edward Gallagher has been living in the shadows with his family, mostly away from any humans and vampires, Naize serves the family as their protector once she reaches a certain age that disallows her from growing older, unlocking her birthright pact with Asmodeus, a known prince of Hell that is responsible for her birth that came to fruition.
- A known dhampir in the vampire community, Naize is mostly close to Dracula, usually visiting his library to read books regarding spells and wonders of the world. She even liked Lisa's company once she heard that the human woman is smitten by Dracula and so did the other.
- Once Alucard was born, Naize was away until she returned to see Lisa and Alucard, surprised to know that Lisa gave birth to a child normally, unlike what Edward and Eivana went through to conceive her, nonetheless, she was happy to know and met Alucard.
- Naize again was away to do Asmodeus' bidding and that's when Lisa was taken away by the Church people, that's when she felt something was wrong and immediately returned to Targoviste. She wanted to save Lisa but stopped by her as she spotted Naize and Alucard stood very far from where she was burning. Naize in denial, wanting to save Lisa but once she heard Lisa's final speech, she knew she had to let Lisa go.
- Once confronting Dracula with Alucard by her side, she and Alucard tried to fight Dracula, telling him that Lisa wouldn't wish for him to become like this but ended the two dhampirs got themselves injured, Naize immediately gets Alucard to safety and decided to have him slumber as she learns of the strings of fate, one too has been assigned for Naize:
"The Gallagherian ally will arise when destiny soon sees their lights in three."
- Once putting Alucard to his hibernation, Naize has been away, honing her skills to be better, hoping her sword and set of skills to become a better shield for Alucard and his other two companions.
- As she realizes that Alucard has awakened from his beauty sleep, she immediately heads off to look for him, not realizing that Trevor has a different kind of welcoming Naize as they fight immediately, actually admiring Trevor for being able to find with finesse despite looking like a hooligan; she noted.
- Along the way, she enjoys Alucard and Sypha's company, mostly musing the young Speaker with any questions she wanted to ask Naize as Alucard is not much of a people's person.
- When Sypha was able to bring Dracula's castle to where they currently are, she also assisted the three to fight Dracula, trying to hide her pain for hurting someone she looked up to as a father figure. She even stood there and just looked at Dracula in the eyes when Alucard then delivered the final blow to his own father, cradling him in her arms as they both wept in understanding. She in her mind, asked herself if Lisa had been watching their progress from heaven, and wondered if she had fulfilled her promise to Lisa.
- Post ending, Naize decided to stay with Alucard, helping him to rebuild the castle and Trevor's estate, keeping them safe and sound from any dangers ahead.
- In Nocturne chapter however, Naize returned to Styria, mostly pretending to be under Carmilla's spell so she could help Hector and Isaac usurp the vampire that was responsible for Dracula's demise. Once Styria now gained its new rulers, Naize returned to Alucard once more.
---------------------------------------------------------
Backstory in Dungeon Meshi:
Similar origins taken from BG3/DnD, Naize is raised to be kind to any mortal folk despite her half undead nature always threw people off at first glance. Dwelling in the underground level, Naize often joined groups or went on solo missions to take out harder monsters to ensure anyone's safety that decided to go further down the levels of the dungeons.
- Meeting Laios in the level where the Undine was spotted, Naize decided to help them as best as she could. Once Marcille sussed out who Naize was, she could only smile and nodded, explaining to the party that she meant them no harm or they wouldn't survive the Undine attack without her assistance.
- Naize was rather surprised about Senshi cooking the monsters' meat while she has been eating or drinking blood from the monsters which raises high concerns from Senshi, she was then treated to a properly cooked meal which made Naize grow curious with the group even more.
- The dhampir was about to leave them to themselves until she learnt of Laios' intention to look for Falin in the deeper depths of the dungeons, out of concern; Naize decided to stay with the party, mostly to keep them out of harm in case of Laios' shenanigans.
- Once finding Chimera Falin however made Naize feel disgusted that someone is able to change the innocents into a monster. Listening to Laios' request to not end Falin, she fought off Falin with her bare hands and even fought Kabru off when he decided to murder Falin while Naize knew the real Falin was still under a spell by the unknown elf.
- Once Falin fled however, Naize was rather determined to see things through with Falin as she made her decision to stay with Laios' group and has been their tank ever since.
---------------------------------------------------------
FAQs regarding Naize:
Is Naize a preferred top or bottom?
She is a switch, depending on who the partner is.
What kind of jokes do Naize like?
She didn't mind any. If you get her to laugh, you score a point.
Does Naize consume blood?
She does. And usually it is either from her partners or the unruly or the unrepentant from Asmodeus' point of view. Naize would've drunk blood usually twice a week when the night comes.
Is Naize left handed or right handed? Ambidextrous?
She is ambidextrous. Losing a limb in Baldur's Gate teaches her to write with the left hand. In other series, she actually pranks people with this skill.
Is Naize able to have children?
Due to her half undead nature, she couldn't have children. If she is able to, I'm voiding the tiefling/devil children canon as WotC suggests that fact can be voided.
Does Naize have ranged weapons?
She does not. She prefers having a single weapon be it Yukiryu, Ensanguined Emberblade or Arthurian Blade. She would prefer her magic as a ranged arsenal as it is rather versatile and she can bend it anyway she wants. Her dhampiric abilities and traits are more than enough to cover the lack of ranged weapons. Yukiryu like explained about, if tapped into its true form right, Naize is able to conjure blades like Vergil from DMC does.
Favorite food, drinks?
She loves a medium rare steak and nice wine to go with. Although only in BG3/DnD, Naize is unable to taste them, but she loves the texture so much. In DunMeshi, she really liked the grilled Kelpie dish made by Senshi.
Favorite blood from partners or love interests?
[BG3/DnD] Naize will safely say that Ramiel's happened to be sweet yet rich in flavor, full bodied. She admitted to Asmodeus how she feels seduced by his blood.
[Marvel] Logan's her favorite as it gives her an adrenaline rush plus she fights better as it gives her a small boost.
[DC] Bruce's because she knew he always has been well nourished himself. Alfred took good care of this one. *chuckles*
[DMC] Dante. Since he is into that kind of stuff with Naize.
[Castlevania] Alucard's blood didn't feel tainted on her tongue oddly enough, perhaps because they both are dhampirs?
[DunMeshi] Laios definitely. He is very well fit and is well nourished despite whatever monster he ate, even the questionable ones.
Favorite colors?
Royal blue, black and gold. With a bit of white. Believes blue is the true color of justice. And she hated Jin throughout BlazBlue as he made the color blue to be the color of a pervert, mostly disgusted by how Jin speaks to Ragna. XD
---------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading the information I provided about Naize. Next post should be about Eru, the oldest original character I ever had. Cheers!
15/12 Edit: Decided to edit a bit more and added a new universe she would appear in, which is DunMeshi. Changing 'Gallionites' to 'Gallionians' per Matthew's intervention. Added a couple more generic pieces of information above. Cheers!

"Little Heaven" - Encore Performance
So you all may have noticed my absence from the Internet since late last year. I think since we're coming up close to the show dates, I'd like to share more about the (now award-winning) local stage musical my brother and I are a part of called "LITTLE HEAVEN." Not only are we in it, but also the director asked me if I would be willing to record a number of the songs she wrote for the musical to put up online to drum up hype for our Encore Performance at the end of this coming August.

"LITTLE HEAVEN is set amidst the backdrop of post-World War II Poland and weaves together the stories of those most affected by the horrors of the past as they grapple to rebuild their lives."

01) - Dance Of Life
This song's one of my favourites that I helped record for Piper and Lori Distel. "Dance Of Life" is originally sung by "The Peddler," LITTLE HEAVEN's nameless narrator. He lives around Maél Niebo, an apartment complex that refugees, the lower class, and the disparaged call their home. He is their witness and takes an interest in the ever-changing events in their small Polish town.
"Told through song, scene and monologue, the stories of Maél Niebo's residents are intertwined, exploring themes of grief, hereditary bias and the power of community.

02) - Part Of The Plan
The song "Part Of The Plan" was originally sung by the co-writer and director herself, Lori Distel in the role of Tovah Hoffson, mother of Rachel and wife of Solomon Hoffson. After the horrific tragedy that displaced many of Maél Niebo's residents, Tovah tries to remind the community that there must be a blessing hidden in their tragedy. Sadly, her message is not welcomed by everyone.
Big thanks to my brother JERO (aka John Michael Kelly) for providing the voice for Tovah's opposition in the recording.

03) Justice For All
Justice For All paints the conflicting worldviews of the German father Leo Meier, and the Romani Maestro Marik Covali, who had been hired to teach music to the Meier daughters. JERO in this recording plays the voice of Leo while I provide the voice of the Maestro.
"Leo Meier, a newspaper reporter from Berlin, wrestles with the guilt he harbours for the small part he played in perpetuating the Reich's hateful message. Romani violin virtuoso, Maestro Covali, attempts to start anew following the tragic deaths of his wife and young daughters."

04) - Land Of Broken Dreams
"The Hoffson Family; father, mother, daughter. There were sons, too, in the days before. Twins. Then, there were thousands of sons. Thousands of daughters. Not anymore..."
And at last we come to one of the songs that I actually sing in the live production of the play, "Land Of Broken Dreams." Together, JERO and I play as David and Daniel Hoffson, the only of Solomon's children to die in the Holocaust. Twins were subjected to inhumane science experiments in the camps. In this song, Solomon wrestles with the guilt he feels over doing what he had to to save his children from a fate worse than death.
The play also touches on topics of queerness, love separated by religion and tradition, and hope - even when the world is at its darkest.
Other songs recorded by and mixed by Alexander W. Halma-Reed are also up wherever you listen to music. Click here to hear some more!
LITTLE HEAVEN Music and Lyrics by Lori Robinson Distel and Book by Piper J. Distel. Orchestrations by Alexander W. Halma-Reed. The show goes live August 29-September 2, 2024 at The Guelph Little Theatre in Guelph, Ontario Canada.
