@feartheliiving sent ❛ where are we supposed to go from here? ❜ / from daryl dixon
alicia scanned their surroundings, she couldn't help but feel like she'd been in this situation before and would be again. outside, the dead piled onto the glass windows of the car wash and onto the doors, trapping them inside. the garage doors on both ends hadn't worked for a long time. they'd managed to pull one down when they'd run inside, but they had no idea how long they'd hold. after all this time, the doors seemed pretty flimsy. "we should see if there's anything useful in here, and then try and find a way up to the roof." they'd run inside, knowing that it was the closest mostly closed building, but originally alicia had discounted it as not having anything that might be useful to them. now they didn't particularly have a choice. they might as well find out what was inside while they didn't have anywhere else to go.

@feartheliiving asked:
you really are something. / from negan to sherry
Sherry's brows furrow as she tries to comprehend Negan's perspective. She had always seen herself as just another survivor trying to navigate the harsh reality they all faced. Yet here was Negan, acknowledging something more within her. A wave of conflicting emotions washed over her. On one hand, she felt a sense of validation, as if her struggles and resilience had finally been acknowledged. On the other hand, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of unease. Her conflicting emotions towards Negan caused a deep self-loathing within her. Part of her hated him while the other felt drawn to him.
" What am I exactly? 'Cause we both know I'm the biggest bitch you've been forced to deal with. "
Sherry possessed an unparalleled lack of self-control when it came to challenging him. While everyone else hesitated to even consider such an act, she knew that she was probably the only individual capable of escaping any consequences in doing so. He seemed to be drawn to her sass and attitude as if it provided him with a certain high. Sherry's audacity was both her greatest strength and her biggest weakness. Her fearless nature often led her to push boundaries and test limits, but it also made her vulnerable to unforeseen consequences. Despite the risks, she couldn't resist the exhilaration that came with challenging him. It was as if their dynamic fueled a fire within her, giving her a sense of control that she craved.
" Go on and tell me what I did this time to earn your undivided attention. "

Send me a 👀 for my muse’s reaction to your muse checking them out. | asked by @feartheliiving for gamma & merle
Mary was trying to keep her head down and make herself a valuable part of Hilltop's society for the sake of making it work for both her and her sister, especially her sister. Frances was already fragile enough as it was and if it wasn't for these people bringing them in, it was only a matter of time before she broke and risked both of their lives. Keeping her head down meant that she didn't get into any trouble, not that she was the type of person to initiate it, but she knew when something felt off and didn't sit back for long doing nothing about it.
While she was grateful that she had come across Merle when she and Frances were in trouble, she hadn't exactly made him her best friend. She was a loner in that respect. So when she happened to be working on something and felt a pair of eyes ogling her, her suspicions were confirmed when she stopped and looked at the one-handed man. ❝ You got something on your mind, Merle? ❞

Learn How to Fly || Sophia & Carl || @feartheliiving
Sophia still couldn't believe that the bike that she and Daryl had been fixing up had finally been ready enough for her to take it on the supply run into Washington D.C. that she and Carl had been planning for the last month. She had paid diligent attention to all the tricks and tips that Daryl had shown her in case something broke down on them while they were out there. She had a small tool kit packed in her saddlebags that were perched on the back of the bike.
They had more than enough food thanks to her Mama packing it for them. They were only going to be gone overnight, but there was enough food to last them at least five days. She had started to protest the amount when Carol had insisted in case something went wrong. She couldn't argue with that and instead kissed her Mama's cheek before she hurried down the steps to where the bike was parked on the sidewalk.
She looked up as Carl was saying goodbye to Rick and Michonne on the sidewalk in front of their house. She had left space in saddlebags so that he could put anything he couldn't fit in the pack on his back. She made sure the six bottles of water had the lids screwed on tightly before placing the food next to them. She had already said her goodbyes, but she knew her Mama was watching from the window.
She waved at Carl as soon as he started to head her way. "Ready for this?" Her insides were a tangled mess of nerves and excitement. She knew she was more than ready to go off on a supply run with just the two of them, but it didn't stop the doubt that crept in from time to time. "Kind of makes me feel like we're finally all grown up." The truth was, they had been grown up in a lot of ways since they were kids. Now their ages matched.

@crownedhopelesss II @feartheliiving for Negan
After the attack from the other wives, Aiden thought it was best to take some time away from the Sanctuary. She wanted to do her best to prove that she was better than those petty women. That she didn't need a man to survive in this world. If that meant being away from awhile, she was going to do that. She was a great hunter and she wanted to put it to good use. She knew it would displease her husband. But she only hoped that he'd still be happy when she came home.
She wanted to take the chance to go on her own for a bit. Clear her head, get food, and come home. That was it. She didn't plan on running. She knew she had a good thing here. Even if there was a bit of rivalry between her and the others. She said goodbye to him in the most memorable way before taking her gear and leaving. A week had passed before she came back home again, she had brought in a few bunnies and vegetables seeds she managed to find. Once she dropped them off to where they kept food, she headed back to her little home. She was welcomed back with a few sneers from the other wives. But she paid them no mind. She walked in and made sure to get herself cleaned up. She knew that there was a chance he'd come by if he knew she was back.

LIKED : post-shower starter call / @feartheliiving
feat. maggie rhee and glenn rhee.
it was a serious trauma for the both of them, the only difference is maggie does not want to talk about it. at all. it’s bad enough that it happened in the first place, the last thing maggie wants is to relive it by talking about the events. she just wanted to focus on moving forward and figuring out how to destroy the governor. ❝ glenn, i said leave it. ❞ she loves him, but he’s pushing the limit by asking her about it. if he’s not careful he’ll end up with egg on his head again. not that she has any eggs, but the point still remains. ❝ he’s got a lot of people on his side, but he lost a major player. we also lost one of our strongest though… i still can’t believe he left us. ❞ she’s referring to daryl who decided to leave them for merle. merle was the reason the two had ended up in that awful situation, she was pissed that daryl chose that jackass over them. brother or not, it was obvious he was not a good man.

@crownedhopelesss / @feartheliiving sent : they kicked the fucking shit out of me. from merle dixon. cobra kai prompts.
" … y’probably deserved it. " gruff response lacks 𝚜𝚢𝚖𝚙𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚢. daryl might love his brother ( he’s not good for you ), but he ain’t blind or deaf to merle’s personality, especially when he wears it so fucking loudly on his sleeve. if somebody was pissed at him, regardless of the circumstances there was 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭 in his mind they’d been given real reason to be. ⸻⸻ ‘course, that didn’t mean he couldn’t give a shit either. 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥. tired gaze silently eyes the other man, searching for any clear sign of serious injuries / anything that might require more attention. at the same time, hand extends to offer older sibling what little water they had left between them. he’d collect more later. knew a place, thankfully; knowledge they were gonna NEED now going back to rick ( your brother was a danger to us all ) wasn’t an option. no dixon left the other behind, that was the rule they 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚎𝚍 themselves by … even if both parties hadn’t always followed it. " shit serves you right for gettin’ mixed up with tha’ asshole in the first place. " the governor hardly made for a 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱, though he supposed neither of ‘em had ever been real great at making those before. had to wait for the damn world to end before daryl even came close to some semblance of genuine. now he’s leaving that behind, for his ( merle’s blood / no, merle is YOUR blood ) brother. " you gonna keep bitchin’ about it or can we start moving? "

STARTER for @feartheliiving (Aaron) from Daryl 🏹
It had been months since Daryl had been back toward Alexandria, The Kingdom or even Hilltop. Isolation was what was best for him, he thought. He had seen a few people from their groups, Carol more than anyone. It was time for a trip to Alexandria though. As much as he preferred the woods, he did want to check on everyone.
Before he reached Alexandria, he was taking down a few walkers that were nearby when someone approached to stick a knife through one's head that Daryl was aiming his bow at. It was a pleasant surprise to see Aaron.
Daryl made himself known, not wanting to startle the other man. ❝What are you doin' out here?❞

@feartheliiving [ sc! ]
Cassie used the dull side of her machete to knock on the open doorframe, hoping that the noise would draw out any of the dead inside. After a few moments she dared to walk in, scanning the place and finding it seemingly empty. The general store had pilfered down to the bare minimum. Not that she had really expected different. Still, she methodically searched the shelves, finding a few items that she could make use of, which she tucked into her backpack. She was slinging her bag back across her shoulders when a loud noise from the front of the store made her quickly duck down. She stayed crouched for a few moments, listening carefully. The sound of footsteps had her clutching the hilt of her weapon. The steps were quick and even, unlike the shuffling movements of the dead. So, a person - that didn’t make her feel any better. Cassie knew that she didn’t have long to act, she could either attempt to sneak around them and out the only open door or she could confront them. Both could end badly.
“Don’t shoot.” she called out, thankful her voice didn’t sound as panicked as she felt. Slowly standing, she stepped out from her hiding spot. She still wasn't sure it was the right decision, even as she made it, but from where the person was standing, she doubted that she would have been able to sneak past them without being seen.

“ this would be a cool way to die. ” / from simon
"Well, well, well, ain't you a real bucket of sunshine today," Negan drawled, his voice dripping with irony. "You know, I've heard some weird-ass ways people wanna meet their maker, but this one takes the cake."
Negan's grin widened, a sense of anticipation and dark amusement radiating from him. In his world, death was no joke, but it seemed Simon had a different perspective on it, and Negan was more than willing to entertain the idea. He had to find humor where he could, no matter how fucked up. He chuckled, the sound low and gravelly, before continuing, "But hey, I can respect a person with a little creativity when it comes to their own demise. So, let me ask you this, my friend, what's this cool way to die you're talking about? Enlighten me." Negan hadn't put much thought to his own death since he was doing his best to stay alive. It had never really been a choice but he supposes when the time comes he could go out on his own terms.

kat could only imagine how much rick missed carl. she missed him too, he’d become her closest friend in the years they’d spent together, but that was rick’s son he’d lost. if the pain she felt losing him was a single stone crushing her, rick’s grief must be so much heavier. she nodded, acknowledging the difficulty he had speaking about carl wordlessly. carl had mentioned reading comics with his dad to her before, but outside of that conversation, she hadn’t thought much about it. she wasn’t sure what to say, but she didn’t need to. the silence didn’t need to be filled like that.
something normal would be nice and they were in a much better place now. it would have been much harder to have a book club when they were still on the road. their daylight hours would have been consumed with walking back then. it didn’t make for a particularly easy reading experience. “i’d like that a lot, it could be really fun.” her mind was still on her aunt, one of the first losses that weighed heavily on her. she missed her every day, and while it wasn’t a near constant ache like missing carl, it was still ever present. “amy was great, i think she would have joined our book club too. i remember we used to watch movies when she babysat me. we watched hercules nearly every week for a while.” that had been kat’s favorite movie as a kid, and amy had always indulged her. “she told me all about the myth of hercules too.” amy had promised to show her more movies about mythology when kat was old enough. they had only just started to get around to that when the world started to fall apart.
🧟 ―――― RICK HAD MOMENTS OF SEEING SO MUCH OF HER MOTHER IN KAT. rick knew that andrea would be so proud of the woman she had become, even through all the hardships they've gone through and the people they lost. it was comforting to see just how strong she's become. she's an inspiration to him and the group, pivotal. he wanted to make sure she was safe because of that. she was more important than she ever could know. he chuckled softly, ❛ wish i did, though. i miss readin'. carl and i — ❜ he stopped for a moment, still finding it difficult to speak about his son, but it was hard not to when all he ever thought about was him. he sighed softly, ❛ used to read books with carl, mostly comics ❜ he finished, keeping his eyes on the road as they drove.
HE NODDED AT KAT'S WORDS, ❛ amy's got great taste. wish i got t' know yer aunt better. she was a nice girl, from what i remember. yer mother loved her very much, ❜ he replied, looking over at her briefly to offer a soft smile. there were a lot of people in their group that he had wished he could've had the chance to get to know better, to become better friends with. amy was definitely one of them. she had died of a gruesome death she did not deserve and back then, he wished he was able to do more to protect her so her and andrea didn't have to go through that pain. flashes of the painful memory flooded his mind briefly, but he was brought back when kat began to speak again. ❛ you should, we oughta make a book club or somethin'. somethin' normal. ❜

For Worse or For Better || Carol & Daryl || @feartheliiving
Carol kept her arms wrapped tightly around Daryl's waist. They'd headed out that morning around dawn, and she hadn't had a moment of regret yet. She hadn't liked the idea of him out here alone so when he'd asked her to come along, she'd jumped at the chance. While it might not mean they were going to ride out to New Mexico, they were going out there looking for Michonne. She'd been gone too long. They hadn't told Judith, but they were worried about how long it had been. If she'd found Rick, they were certain that she would have made it back to Alexandria by now.
So here they were starting their journey by heading up the east coast and putting out feelers along the way to groups of friendlies if they happened up on them. They had about eight hours behind them now and hadn't gotten so much as a whisper anywhere they'd stopped.
The sun was about to set, so that meant they needed to find shelter for the night. She tapped his waist and then pointed up ahead to an old motel that seemed abandoned. "Might be a vacancy if we're lucky," she teased.

@crownedhopelesss II @feartheliiving sent: you’re not telling me the full story. / from negan to aiden
Aiden looked away for a moment, not sure what to say to that. ever since she came back from her trip, things had been great between them. She kept to her own business and stayed in her room. She made sure to keep her distance from the other wives. They kept out of her way, she kept out of theirs. It was a simple understanding that neither of them pushed.
But nothing never really stayed that simple for long when the world was in chaos.
One of the wives, she assumed who thought she was one of the tops, had started to push Aiden's buttons. Before Aiden had fought and argued with Negan. Now that they built their bond, this particular wife didn't seem to fond of it. She knew how fair Negan was to his wives. he made sure that they all got attention and that they knew they were loved and desired. She never got jealous, never asked for more.
Aiden wondered if this woman had hoped that the walkers would take her when she left on her own. It seemed like a logical thought when the woman pulled a knife on her over a small disagreement between them. Aiden had managed to disarm her but cut herself in the process.
She wondered what the other wife told him that made him question her. She had been somewhat honest about what had happen. But she didn't want anyone to be punished for it. Aiden was willing to let it go if it meant there would be peace again. she would just have to be more careful.
The other wives were much more better now. One even helped her get bandaged up. This one just kept holding a grudge.
"I told you everything that happened. I don't know why you think I'm holding back."

Lena stared at the man her her racing as her face remained unchanged as Negan swung his bat. No part of her doubted the danger radiating off the man in front of her, no she was fairly certain he could destroy her home without a second thought. She was also fairly every single person behind these walls would do everything they could to insure he wouldnt have the chance to do it.
Lena supressed her eye roll at Negan's comment about her not knowing what two weeks had meant. Maybe if Negan hadn't relied on traumatized and over exhausted grieving people to keep track of dates, though she doubted pointing that out would help much.
" I can show you where we keep track of dates to make sure what we're feeding people isn't going to give them food posioning or ya know, kill people," Lena said indicating the direction of where they kept the bulk of their food supply."
Lena stiffened, " We have a few empty homes that have some extra mattresses and that kind of thing, otherwise the people here are using it, we have kids younger than Carl here that need their beds."
Lena couldn't help but roll her eyes at the man calling her 'kid', at twenty one she felt far too old for that label, especialy after the fall of the world. Lena forced a smile and walked Negan out the door.
"This is where most of the people live, the people who originally built it wanted it to feel like a town, but it really just makes think of those gated communities people used to live in. We have a school in the middle of town by the medic's building, or what used to be," Lena knew she was rambling a bit but she had hoped if she stalled long enough Michonne or her dad would come back. She wished she paid more attention to DeAnna's speech when they had first arrived. She also wished she had the air of authority Maggie had about her when it came to situations like this.
"The people here are good people," Lena said trying to keep her voice casual as they walked through the streets, " when my family came.. the people here did their best to make sure we felt welcomed. We've all worked hard to build this place into somewhere kids like Carl can had at least a piece of what the world used to be."
Lena glared up at the man, the anger on face apparent looking a near perfect combination of both her parents. Rick had once joked Carl wouldn’t ever forget what Lori looked like because of how similarly the eldest Grimes looked to their mother. With Carl upstairs safeguarding Judith, Lena wasn’t about to back down from whatever fight Negan was trying to start with her. She’d gotten far too good at distracting dangerous men, it was just a matter of figuring out which method worked best on him, being mouthy or sweet and innocent. Lena had been the one to stay up with Carl as he’d recounted what had happened while they tried to get Maggie to the doctor at Hilltop. She’d held her younger brother’s hand as he went into excruciating detail of Glenn and Abraham’s murders. How the man now standing in front of her had gleefully murdered with the very bat he was holding so close now.
Lena stood stubbornly still as Negan moved closer to her and willed her breath not to shake as he spoke. Part of her wanted to laugh at the idea of this grown man naming his bat like a teenager naming their first car but thought better of it instead keeping her brown eyes locked on his.
“ I did talk to my dad and beyond mentioning how you murdered my family he said you were giving us two weeks until you were coming here, which is why he’s gone.”
Lena tried not to flinch at the bat in her face and moved her shoulders back forcing a sweet smile on her face that nearly two decades growing up in Georgia taught her, “we don’t have whatever it is you’re looking for but the most I can do is give you a tour around. I don’t know if my dad is coming home today or tomorrow if that’s what you’re wanting.”
Lena smiled trying to figure out a way to avoid the man discovering Judith’s existence, not wanting Negan to have yet another person to hold over her dad’s head.
