Consistent Thoughts and Fear of death!

The fear of death is almost inevitable. If there is one thing that humans fear is death and that’s why there is the advancement in technology for security and medical improvements. In other words, death is a painful subject in the lives of many people. Imagining the topic alone can result in anxiety because you don’t know how things will be. If only we could tell the future then we could have tried to avoid the fear of death. 

We fear death due to many reasons. Death brings uncertainty especially when you are spending a final moment or final day with a loved one. It is a painful process. I fear death because it means an end to live permanently and a stop to all my dreams and a failure to see my loved ones again. These ideas are brought about by the people I know who succumb to death yet had plans. Death is like a surprise sometimes, whereby you can be alive today but dead tomorrow. 

The moment one thinks about death, what comes to mind is the end of life. People fear death because it may either be unknown, painful or even both. I have grown up in a loving family that makes me feel better and optimistic in life. There is no doubt that we all desire to live in a place full of love and lacks violence, selfishness, and hatred. But there comes death, which can take all this away in a twinkle of an eye. 

Most people would fear death because it will be the final time with what they love. For instance, someone would leave all his assets, loving family or close friends. The fact that one fears death brings about the idea that there might be a clock ticking as it counts the existence of each individual on earth.

For many of us, living during the Covid pandemic is to stare death in the face. Death seems so much closer to us than ever before.

How secure or peaceful are we about our impending death? Covid or not, the Bible says that we could die any moment (cf. James 4:14).

If God is actively involved in our death, would that make us more secure and peaceful that God, who is the judge of all the earth, will do what is just? (cf. Genesis 18:25).

How sure we are that God determines our death? If God determines our death, then does HE cause suicides?
